Quality food. No joke.

I been coming here for some years now and I still cant get over the fact that customer service is above already great food. If you in the area to find something to eat you need to stop here and take food home. The lady here is so incredibly nice that she will remember what you order and makes sure your food is made as requested. You can change or add something slightly and they are serious about the service. Bottle water on arrival, open seating and clean restroom. The lady is so friendly that she tells you about your food, example what type of mushroom the food is prepared with. The amazing friendliness goes a long way that I drive from Woodland just to eat here. This is by far a very good restaurant and everything I order is good. May 24,2026 : I continue to come here, and the quality of food has not changed. Im considered a regular here for the amount of times I cone in for food. I just cant find a place to compete with their quality. The family operating this establishment is extremely friendly, and even tho it changed slightly they are still great.

Sesame Tofu

A great pit stop on our road trip to Lassen National Park (before we entered areas that would have less good food) I ordered the roast duck fried rice (bc that's an unusual menu item), while my friends ordered a combo fried rice (beef, pork, chicken, and shrimp), and a veggie chow mein. Everything was delicious but we wanted it a bit spicier so the owner provided us with a bowl of homemade chili crisp which was top notch. The portions were extremely generous and our eyes were bigger than our stomach so we took most of the serving of sesame tofu for road trip snacks later. The tofu was that perfect airy-but-chewy texture that you can only get from professionally made tofu. I didn't love the sauce (can't put my finger on it) but my friends raved about it. The owner also gave us extra fortune cookies to go after we accidentally dropped one of ours on the ground Logistics: - indoor seating only - plenty of strip mall parking outside

Driving back from Reno to the Bay Area on I80 and we were hungry for Dim Sum and homestyle Cantonese food. We saw Tasty Gourmet listing both options and decided to take a meal break. TG is located on the back side of a strip mall and has plenty of free parking. The restaurant is not flashy, has a number of tables for dining in, and appears to do plenty of takeout. Their Dim Sum choices are limited but cover the basics. The four of us ordered for lunch: - Shiu Mai (steamed pork and shrimp dumplings, 4 to an order) - Har Guow (steamed shrimp dumplings, 4 to an order) - Roast Duck Fried Rice (not many places have this) - Tomato Beef Gheen Mien (special order off menu as we noticed they had TB Chow Fun and Seafood Gheen Mien and figured they could produce the TB GM which they did with no problem). Most Cantonese restaurants with competent chefs can interchange with no problems. Probably could have added curry to the TB GM to make TCB GM... if you can decipher, then you're a bonafide Cantonese food eater. LOL. - Sesame Balls (6 fried sesame balls for dessert, filled with red bean paste) All the food came out hot and very tasty. We ate it all up! Service from Rebecca was very hospitable and welcoming. She's a very good host and an overall nice person. A good stop for us and we'll be back in September.

I've been coming here for years and have never had a bad meal. The food is always delicious and reminds me of my dad's cooking, no matter what I get. This is THE spot to go if you're broke too - I have never had less than 3 meals out of the leftovers from this place before. Service is always good. It's a family run place so the wait staff tend to recognize their regulars and go above and beyond to ensure you have a good time. It's a bit on the bare side inside but they let the food speak for itself.

Steamed BBQ Pork Buns 3, pan fried bun, crispy seafood noodles

It was my first time here and i was pleasantly surprised with the quality and freshness of the dishes. The seafood noodles were so crispy and the flavor was not too salty. The steamed bbq baos were fluffy, soft and had a delicious bbq filling. The pan fried dumplings were also pretty solid, with a nice crispy exterior and flavorful beef filling. The service was fast and friendly, and we got our food really fast. The ambiance was filled with families and a clean interior which made it comfortable to dine in. I'd come again to try more items!

Duck fried rice

Great vibe, lovely little spot run by a very sweet couple. The food is excellent: great breading on the generals/sesame/sweet&sour type stuff. I also LOVED the roasted duck fried rice, their specialty. Really good fried rice and great flavored, fatty duck. Delicious!

Why no delivery services?

Delivery services take a large cut of the sale. Up to 1/3 of the ticket. Call in your order and pickup. Easy parking right up front and the people that operate Tasty Gourmet are fantastic.

Is this placed owned by the same owners as Four Seasons Gourmet (the one attached to the gas station)? If yes, do the owners own both this location and the old location? Or did they sell off the old place?

The owner of Tasty Gourmet used to work at Four Seasons, but then retired a few years ago. Apparently she got bored at home, so she decided to open up her own restaurant!

Siu Mai: This was classic & well-executed, and there was a strong mushroom taste which I loved. Shrimp Dumplings: These were also classic, flavorful, and fresh. Jelly Fish & Sliced Beef Tendon: I loved the texture and spiciness of the general dish, and they were seasoned well. Beef Noodle Rolls: These were okay in my opinion, but silky and tender. Pan-Fried Turnip Cake: I loved the crisp outside, and it was soft on the inside. It did not feel too heavy and better than other places I've tried. Green Beans: These were slightly oily, but the portion size was generous for the price. Preserved Egg & Pork Congee: The congee was okay, but it was comforting and smooth and still had a good flavor.

I look forward to revisiting and trying more!

My kid mentioned they usually are very pack and people would dine outdoor, but I guess we arrived early so there wasn't any wait time. Ordered few items, food came out very fast and the tastes are not bad at all. Beef Fried Rice Noodles: How do you differentiate if this dish is good or not, it is about how much excessive oil that's left on the plate. The stir fried was good, not too greasy, and they marinate the meat well. Unlike other Chinese restaurants, this place's meat was good. Only they could stir fried with even higher eat to create more "wok air" Sticky Rice Stick with Brown Sugar: First time trying this dish, so not sure what to expect. But it does seem to be a dessert to me, my comment would be higher if the rice stick is more chewy. Hot & Sour Shredded Potato: This is common dish from northern part of China. The way they prepared was awesome. The potato was not starchy and the seasoning is just right. A bit greasy but this is actually my favorite dish! Shrimp and Pork with Chives Dumplings: Meat is fresh and dumpling wrap is great too. Each dumpling size is not too big and wasn't torn. Taste is okay but maybe try another filling if I visit again. I would come again to try out other things on the menu if I'm visiting my kid again.

We had the seafood tofu hotpot, shrimp wonton, garlic green bean, mongolian beef, half hainan chicken, and ny steak spaghetti to-go. Was a little busy at 7 on a holiday so we waited like ten minutes to get our order in, the guy memorized our order right as I said it lol. He confirmed and we got our soup in ten mins, ten mins for green beans and mongolian beef, another ten minutes for our chicken, then like seven for hotpot. Most disappointing was chicken, it's not hainan at all and just standard hong kong white chicken. Taste is fine and fresh but was sad. Best was the seafood hotpot AND the wonton soup. Both had great flavor and saltiness and was just sooo good. Wontons were very tasty and had a lot of meat, definitely both pork and shrimp, and soup even had little shrimp in it ifkyk. The seafood hotpot had great variety and flavor, my parents were pleased with the fish bits in it, the tofu was yummy bc it's fried tofu, the crab texture was not great maybe overcooked and I didn't like the soft cucumber but otherwise the broccoli scallop shrimp tofu fish bok choy was all great. Green beans and mongolian beef SERIOUSLY needed some wok flavor and wish the beef had black pepper because the seasoning was a bit lacking (wok flavor would be great here) and overall the vegetables were a little undercooked. They were addictive though I definitely kept going back for more. Hot tea is jasmine tea. Service was a bit lackluster but totally understandable and even though I was in a rush we were in and out by an hour and like ten minutes which worked. Ambiance wise, I didn't like how the lights are half brighter and whiter than the sun and half nicely softly lit. Tables are nice wood and a bit sticky but okay. There's random Chinese TV on the walls, very traditional lol and I think no music. Overall very pleased! Will definitely come back as much as possible to support, and highly highly recommend. I went harsh on Tim's because I was expecting perfect dishes, and even though some stuff didn't hit, everything was way beyond average.

It was pretty heavily battered and not too seasoned, but it wasn't bad. I think there is probably better calamari elsewhere. The dumplings were amazing though! Both came out piping hot. We thoroughly enjoyed all of them and would recommend both to anyone in the mood for dumplings. The place itself has good seating options both inside and outside! Wow! Ascended to my #1 restaurant spot in Davis. Definitely more of an infrequent meal since I…read morewould consider it more on the expensive side. Average dishes are ~20 dollars. Great spicy food and friendly staff. Food (10/10) - The food here is AMAZING! Perfect balance of spice to flavor and every single bite is electric. The sichuan numbing pepper in the Chongqing soup was DELICIOUS. Mix it with some of the white rice and you have a dish all by iteself. The chicken itself had a nice chew and was very fragrant. Loved the texture and flaovr of the vermicelli; nice bounce to the noodles while soaking in all the spicy soup. My one complaint would be that they have soft bones (sign of long boiling time) so be careful of that! Also got the spicy stir-fried pork kidney... don't diss it 'til you try it. Super good, with that nice bit of chew. Take a bite of pepper, kidney, and white rice and BOOM! Perfect bite. **Recommendation: Rice is a key component for the dishes here. Without rice, everything will be too spicy, too savory, and overall too overwhelming. The rice is the thing that helps tie everything together (as it frequently is) Service (8/10) - Good service; nothing notable. Nice people and I think most of them speak Mandarin. Service and seating was also fast. Order of things to come out of the kitchen was a bit strange: soup for the chicken, rice, stir-fry, chicken. Honestly, not that big of a problem but just decided to comment. Price (8/10) - The price here is a bit on the pricier side; $54 for 2 but there were some leftovers (had to make my own rice though). Some of the dishes are more worth than others. The Chonqing chicken was $25 but you got a large bowl of chicken with soup and vermicelli. On the other hand, the stir-fry for $20 was notably padded with vegetables and I would say a majority of the dish was not the kidney. At the very least, the taste of the food compensates. However, this place is likely not a college go-to. Overall, great restaurant that I will be coming back to again (maybe with my parents LOL) or at the very least, would come with a large group as it is more fitting for family style. Highly recommend!
