Holy moly Coho is huge and like a company food court. Very full from 1-2, like almost all seats were taken but getting my food was really fast. I got the super burrito bowl and it was pretty good except the carne asada tasted like straight adobo. The rice is a little weird, I thought it was couscous. The other stuff (beans, corn, pico) was seasoned well and even though it's not as big of a portion compared to Chipotle the price is reasonable. Guac is extra so I got sour cream. I'll definitely come back and try chicken next time as well as the other options here. read more

I I ordered a Gorgonzola pizza and they forgot to add the toppings I got half pep and half Gorgonzola and paid $30 they will not refund me , they will not remake the pizza I live in Napa so I drove all the way home just to notice my pizza was not done correctly the forgot the star of the show the cheese!!! They then had the nerve to offer me a $10 gift card and suggest to me if the pizza is to expensive that I could also go somewhere else !!!!!! I will never buy another pizza from this place and if you do please check your order as they have to respect for you as a student and your money and will just tell you how much they hold themself to high standards even though they can even make my pizza over I don't care if your a student or not $30 is expensive and for them to treat me is way and then insult me twice I will definitely be taking this over they head because we all have to answer ro somebody and that just really isn't fair or ethical to rob someone of a freaking pizza all I wanted was it remade for what I paid for Manager Levi and Draco are no good in helping resolve this issue so don't even bother unless you want to be further ripped off read more

I brought my daughter and her friend to campus yesterday for a tour. After a lot of walking in the summer sun, we popped in to the Coffee House next to the Quad for a cool drink. I ordered a Pina Colada smoothie. The girls ordered a watermelon refresher and a raspberry refresher. The watermelon drink was okay. The other two drinks were sub par and definitely not refreshing. Sorry, but I have to rate you a one star (not good). I watched the two girls who made the drinks. They didn't seem like they wanted to be there. There was not eye contact, smile nor interaction. I almost felt like I was disturbing whatever they wanted to do (instead of making our drinks) My guess is that this "business" is not really about profit...but exists more as an on campus offering. Hence, maybe no motivation to offer anything great (much less anything above and beyond). On a good note, It was neat to see an apparently new coffee house seating system. The tables have these sliding color tabs. If you leave it open to the green side, it means you are open to other strangers sitting at your table. SOOOOOO much better than before. VARIETY that is not Sodexo option 1 or Sodexo #2. (I think, anyways.) Pho, sushi, Tex-Mex and a bunch more options in one location on campus! FINALLY! So far, I've had just the pho and it actually had flavor to it which is something that university-related food just did not have before. Based upon just this one dish, I will return to try the others. I saw sushi sitting in a cooler- may not try that, but I hear there are tacos as well. Even Indian food somewhere! I'm very glad that there are OPTIONS now and not just prepackaged/refrigerated choices. Probably would have stayed on campus much more often had this been present back in my Aggie days. This is just absolutely my favorite place to go for coffee & sweet treats including all the other coffee places downtown in Davis!!! The bakery things in Swirlz seal the deal--they are just so delicious and so much better than anything factory made at Starbucks. Also the price is fantastic. I can get a coffee and a baked good for $6 and a massive burrito (bigger than Chipotle) for less than $5. Yay food read more

Ahh the CoHo, there are many things I like about this place with a few things that I don't like. I would have to say that I come here almost everyday whenever I am on campus. Certainly a great place to grab breakfast/lunch, study, or just chill in between classes. The food/beverages here ranges from breakfast burritos, bagels, sandwiches, nachos, pho, pizza, sushi, pasta, rice plates, pastries, salads, and coffee. I haven't tried everything here but most of their food can be a bit expensive. My favorite thing to eat at the CoHo during lunch time is either their Chicken Tetrazinni (with pasta), Chicken Tikki Masala (with rice) and "The Gabe" from the bagel area. Their portion sizes for the Chicken Tetrazinni and the Chicken Tikki Masala are a bit small. Their small is $3.95 and their large is $4.95. Unfortunately, they only have Chicken Tetrazinni at the "Cooks" area on Fridays and they don't often have Chicken Tikki Masala. I would have to say that my to-go lunch would be the bagels. My favorite would be "The Gabe" which is what became favorite amongst a lot of people ever since my boyfriend named Gabe decided to create his own bagel. "The Gabe" consisted of a Jalapeno bagel with fowl salad, pepperjack cheese, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and chipotle mayo spread. Oh it is delicious and it's practically a huge bagel sandwich. It is a bit pricey with all the add-ons and it comes out to be around $4.50 but it will make you full and satisfied! read more

Wow. Seriously. Wow. The curry pho is good. The pastries are good. Overpriced, though. So why the one star review? Well. Why don't we talk about the burrito? Have these people EVER considered hiring some burrito experts? Maybe take some tips from the Guad? Because seriously, it's like they LOOKED (not TASTED) at a burrito and said, "Hmm. Let's duplicate everything by just looks, shall we?" And then hoped that it would taste amazing by the grace of god. The burrito had no flavor. The steak inside looked (and practically tasted) like pieces of crap. And..large pieces of lettuce? Really? In a burrito? How can they put this kind of stuff in there and have the audacity to call it a burrito and charge 5-6 dollars for it? I mean, I know it's a student run place, they're trying to keep prices down, etc. etc. But this is definitely NOT a burrito. It's as far from a burrito as can be. Student run goodness! Always happy with the coffee and pastries at Swirlz, and today I tried one of the eateries for the first time - Cooks. For under $7, I got a huge and delicious plate of food. The tikka masala platter came with a choice of chicken or tofu tikka masala (I got chicken), curried chickpeas, white or brown rice (picked brown), and 2 naan breads. No joke, the best Indian food I've eaten in Davis! The naan bread was a little generic, but the chicken tikka masala was chock full of hearty chunks of chicken, mushrooms, and other veggies. The sauce was the perfect consistency and full of flavor and spice. The curried chickpeas were equally flavorful and perfectly cooked. The brown rice made for a healthy accompaniment. Ahh the coho, I consider this to be the main place to chill if you're on campus. They've got cheap food, many options if you're hungry or thirsty, lots of seating. Their Pizza is super cheap but very inconsistent. Sometimes it's good but a lot of the time I notice the crust is too doughy, too much tomato sauce, or cheese isn't right. Coffee is fairly priced and I like the quality for what it is. If you come during the day you can eat some cheap taco salads which are a good amount of food for $5. Limited booth and outlet seating and gets packed during peak hours. read more

At some point while I was at Davis, I was at the coho pretty much every single day. It's a great place to get some work done or hang out with friends. It DOES get super crowded but if you go early/late in the day you'll always find a spot. If you're not sure what to get, I recommend you try the fowl salad on a jalapeno bagel with chipotle mayo at the Fickle Pickle section. (sometimes I add lettuce/tomato and it's a sandwich!) It's only around $3 and is very generously portioned. There are many food options in the coho, there's a little cafe for coffee/pastries, pizza at Ciao, and more! Cooks is probably my favorite place to go inside the Coho, it's the comfort food station if I recall correctly, on your left if you walk in from the quad. I really love their chicken tetrazzini! They serve it every Friday and I usually had one in hand... every Friday LOL It's cheesy pasta packed with chicken and a regular ($5) is HUGE. And finally the quiche is like $2.50 and always delicious! I can always rely on the coho for cheap, good food! Most of my orders always came in under $6. I just take one star off because it's so loud and crowded sometimes and the food's not like, amazing. But every once in awhile I think about going back just to get that bagel again! read more

This review is solely for the new Chicken Wings. There is a veggie option I did not try. I don't know where the chicken wings are from, but I jokingly called them chick wings because they were so small. It's like the veal of the chicken industry. They were so small and lacked meat. And to charge $8 for 6 sad little wings made this a bad experience for me, my wallet and the chicks who gave their lives. The sauces were uninspiring and lacked flavor. I was making small talk with my doctor about visiting UC Davis with the family. She said she is an alumni and recommended to eat at the Student Union because the food is outstanding. I figured eating campus food would give us a "taste" of college life. It was crowded at Coho during lunch hour, but it was bearable. The food was indeed really good and very cheap. Quiche for $2.65 - tasted homemade to me, I could not have done better. Eggplant with tofu for $3.25 - it was so tasty, eggplant was cooked to perfection, tofu soaked up the flavors of tomatoes and onion and other spices. The hot coffee and pastries here are great. I would recommend, the Columbian or Java roasts paired with a slice of cake or fruit filled croissants. Be sure to get a stamp card if you come often! The pho here... the noodles and soup taste alright, but I don't know why they think it's okay to add in broccoli and serve a baguette on the side. It's weird. At least they have Sriracha. TxMx is probably the best bang for your buck. The especial burrito is big and frankly too much food for the average person. On the other hand, I find their regular burritos a bit too small. If you come before 10, their breakfast burritos are amazing with chorizo. All the meats are grilled so you get that charred flavor, but often times the chicken tastes too charred to the point where you feel like you're just eating crusty black stuff from the bottom of their grill. The sandwiches are quite good. I only get their egg salad sandwiches on sourdough, but they do have a lot of variety in terms of meats and breads. The veggies are always fresh and never wilted. The salad stand is the priciest of all at nearly $7 for a basic salad, and $9 for one with protein. That being said, it's very fresh and thoroughly tossed in dressing. The sushi is okay, but for the price and portion, I'd go with something else. This place is run by students with a break-even model so they're trying to charge you just enough to pay all their bills and works. Its not a typical for profit operation so the food is relatively cheap. Service is generally on point except for the times when they decide to hire a bunch of new people. When you're stuck on campus for the long haul and you forgot to pack yourself some food for snacking or lunch, there aren't many choices around school. I would actually much rather venture the short five minute walk to Sam's to get a good meal, but when I don't have the time or I want something to snack on, I'll go to the coho. Swirlz bakery - coffee is pretty decent here. Save some money and bring your own container. On finals week they often have a 50% off coffee. - Baked goods are hit or miss. The best ones (imo) are the pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and the carrot cake. Others are too dry or too sweet (aka pumpkin cake, apple pie, chocolate chip bar, chocolate croissant) - Carrot cake is by far the best I've had. I don't like super chunky; this carrot cake is for the ones who like light carrot cakes FULL of just shredded carrots. - I hear they have good ice cream. They have green tea flavor! Cooks - For meals, I like to hit it up here. You can check their daily menu on the site that's updated the night before at around 9pmish (http://coffeehouse.ucdavis.edu/stores/cooks/) - You can ask to sample if you're not sure - Quiche is usually safe and cheap choice ($2.25) - If you don't want rice they won't fill your bowl all the way full - DO NOT get the cornbread. I tried it three times and each time I've been led with disappointment and a mouthful of unpleasant clumps of baking powder. I've tried just about everything at the coho from the pizza to the sandwiches to the sushi and burritos. All of their food is good. I haven't found something that I didn't like or enjoy. It's really convenient when you're stuck on campus and don't want to walk to downtown to eat. The prices can vary but are pretty cheap overall. The sushi can be pretty expensive like $7-$10 but I think the sushi is actually good and worth the price. Their bowls of pasta can range from $3-$5. Pizza and bagels are about $2. Drinks range from $1-$5. It's all really cheap. The college friendly prices is definitely one of the best things at the coho. You know you're getting a decent and well made snack/meal for a cheap price. Lines can get veryyy long during lunch time but fortunately the students work really fast and you can get your food in no time. It sucks that they close pretty early in the day. I believe around 5pm they're already closed. So if you have late classes just head over to the south coho or Silo for food. read more

This place makes our campus looks nice. Great place to study..... BUT you gotta get really lucky to find a seat, which sucks! So I only come here if I have to. I'm currently sipping on some Bean Trees hazelnut coffee, super yummy. Medium for $1.85. Tex Mex Grill's burritos are tiny and bland :( Ciao's pizzas are delicious and decently priced. Fickle Pickle Deli serves good sandwiches but its a bit overpriced. Their bagels are my favorite though! Jalapeños and cream cheese, yeah buddy! Cooks' chicken tikka masala doesn't taste like what it's supposed to taste like but it's pretty good. The quiche and salad is not bad. They provide 2 microwaves here, so you can heat up your lunch! However, make sure you do it before 11:50am or after 12:10pm, or else you'll be waiting in a long ass line. Overall, this place is awesome :) read more

Obviously, it gets very busy during lunch time. However, I find that the food is usually better during the lunch rush. Because the turnover is high during these times, the food is usually more fresh and hot when you get it. I'm speaking particularly about the pizza and whatever food they are serving at Cooks. During lunch, the pepperoni pizza is probably the best out of the bunch. Only once though they served me a horrible slice of pizza with under-cooked dough. And for Cooks, I usually get the pasta (chicken alfredo is the best). I like getting sandwiches and bagels at Fickle Pickle, though sometimes the bagels are stale. So, it really depends if you're getting a good bagel or not. The sandwiches are pretty good, though I don't recommend the roast beef because it was bland and watery last time I got it. The ikoma sushi is a good option if you don't want to wait in line. I like the spicy salmon roll. I've only gone to TxMex a few times and each time the food was disappointing for me. The baked goods at Swirlz are pretty good! The coffee is super watery though so I wouldn't recommend that. read more

The CoHo saved my poor, grumbling stomach hundreds of times over the past 4 years. Having just graduated, I sure am going to miss this place! Pricing has increased a bit over the years, so I couldn't consider food here super cheap, but for its convenience and quality, it's definitely worth it. A lot of food/ingredients come from local farms or the UCD Student Farm, which I am a huge advocate for! My favorite is Cooks and it's homecooked-style foods. Tex-Mex is also great for if you're craving Chipotle but don't have time to bike to downtown to get it. It's all student-run, too...which is quite amazing if you ask me. The hours of some of the food counters could be adjusted to be more convenient (breakfast should not end at 10!!! At least make it 10:30 so those getting out of class at 10 can still get breakfast). In addition to food, I've done a lot of studying and hanging out with friends here...so thanks CoHo for those memories too. I had many, many meals here as a student and sub-par would be the best word to describe the food in general. Solid (more or less): Chicken Tetrazzini Farfalle Westfalia Bagels (very generous with the toppings) Garbage: "Burritos" Quesadillas Sandwiches (the bread tasted stale 90% of the time) "Pho" Don't get me wrong, the coffee house is a great place to grab something relatively quickly and inexpensively with friends and classmates given its central location on campus. Absolutely love it here. Whether it be 50% off coffee during finals week, or the awesome baked goods. I've made it a mental note to always have at least 5-10$ cash in a coin purse when I'm at school for a prolonged time period. I've gotten burritos that filled me up for a good $5 and a bagel with generous amounts of avocado spread or cream cheese as well as pumpkin cake slices and peanut butter rice krispie treats (geezus do I feel obese as I was typing all of that!). Either way, I march all around the spacious campus throughout the whole day to make me feel better after eating. In terms of prices, food could be a little cheaper. But to make my money's worth, I stick to the coffee, baked goods, or splitting a burrito with a friend. Seating is also a big problem! I would never want to sit here right after class, so I make it a habit to come here during obscure time periods or my gaps when most of the students are in class. @The Fickle Pickle: 5 stars For the price and quality, you just can't beat it with the sandwiches. Got the tuna salad on organic sourdough with pesto mayo spread (which I couldn't even taste), no cheese, all veggies, and a pickle on the side and chips as well. I don't think I like this organic sourdough though.. It was really FRESH/REFRESHING due to the veggies. The tuna part wasn't too bad, it's not the best I've had, but in a sandwich, second to best and third just considering the salad portion. This was the MOST refreshing tuna salad sandwhich I've had however. My number one goes to Anderson Bakery. For 4.95, getting the options to mix/match to get any cheese, spread, toppings, and the choice of chips (tortilla, healthy, not that fast food stuff) or a small apple, that's a really good deal. Hummus and another spread however are like an extra 50 cents or maybe even a dollar. @Swirlz: 4.5-5 stars The Chai Latte isn't great as the one in the COHO at the SCC.. HOWEVER.. the spicy chai at this location is actually SPICY whereas the COHO at the SCC isn't spicy when ordered.. The blue bunny ice cream is good, I recommend praline pecan but the buttered pecan isn't like butter pecan, there aren't actually pecans in that one, it was decent. For 1.95 for 2 scoops in any cone (sugar or cake) or a cup, that's a pretty good deal. I will try their Italian Soda at some point. UPDATE: tried.. DON'T GET IT.. or don't get the mango one, so gross.. waste of money! I really wished they had flavored that isn't like mint/lemon, but the whole different varieties of iced tea.. but I guess theres no place on campus but Starbucks (which isn't even good), De Anza College has great Iced Tea, y'all. I like their milkshakes! I got praline pecan and strawberry (because they were close to being out of the pecan one, super good) got it with the ice cream option. For smoothies, mango is yummy. Wildberry + Mango, I'm not sure.. the second time I got a smoothie, the person didn't do great of a job as the previous person. I don't recommend their tea lattes... gross.. @TX MX: 3 stars The 3 platter street taco deal, I got chicken, tofu (wasn't that great.. reminds me of american curry sauce on top), and steak. The also have carnitas option as well. This was 4.20, I kind of would've rather gotten something else that had more food, the price is alright. For a street taco, these are even smaller than the street tacos I've had.. They're kind of skimpy here.. The girl who served me made a face when I asked her if I could have pico on my tacos (which wasn't a lot but she already had it in a tiny dipping little cup for me), but I guess she wasn't suppose to do that? She kept looking over my shoulder.. But, I mean if you can't do that just say no, don't make a face the whole entire time. I graduated UC Davis about 3 years ago BEFORE the new COHO was built so returning to UC Davis and discovering the new COHO - I fell in love! I love the decor and atmosphere. It's so contemporary, hip and relaxing. It is EXACTLY what a college town needs, it has the college student vibe to it. This is a great place to hang out or just chill in between classes. The COHO food options are also decent. Overall, I just come here and chill. + I love the new water dispenser near one of the entrances. Great way to promote reusing water bottles because Davis water isn't the best. read more

Despite the fact that it's very difficult to find a seat here during the day, I love hanging out here while waiting for classes. I can satisfy my craving for a caramel macchiato... and there is boba here now. B.O.B.A... It may not be the best, but when I'm desperate, anything will do. It does leave a bad taste afterwards, but it's cheap. Most of the people working here are students and as baristas, they do very well. If you can handle a million people, all the time, then this should be your go-to on campus. Super convenient location, CHEAP food & coffee (my cold brew was under $2 and I almost cried tears of happiness into it), and surprisingly good sushi!! Normally I don't trust sushi that's been sitting in a fridge, but for some reason the CoHo market has got it figured out. Croutons is also great if you like salad - so many toppings and super generous portions. In the end, this review probably doesn't really matter because if you're on campus and need food or coffee, chances are this is where you'll head by default. Honestly, it is what it is. I wouldn't expect students to be the pillar of great consumer service. I think this 'coffee house' would best be summarized as, "I wouldn't come here, if it wasn't on campus". I once asked the Barista, what was a good drink,...she couldn't answer. I was service a hot chai latte so cold, it could've kept ice solid for 30mins on a hot Davis day. It is there. It is relativity cheap. It's a hot day and you need to stay awake because you pulled an all-nighter and your midterm is in T-2 hours. What do you do? Order a double Iced Coffee! Delicious. Ask them to make room for some milk if that's what you're into, add some sugar, and bam! Heaven! Plus you're awake and ready to ace that midterm. I probably order here once or twice a week. If only they had a stamp card system, that would be great! This place also serves fruit smoothies and milkshakes that they can make out of Ice cream, fruit syrups, and even greek yogurt. It's a little more on the expensive side though, so I'd rather opt for the cheap iced coffee. I also recently saw that the CoHo now serves Milk tea with boba. That's a little odd. I've never tried it so I don't know how it compares to ShareTea, Teabo, and all the other boba places in Davis. Care to save a little money? Bring your own mug/tumbler/cup. You'll save a few cents. I was never a big fan of sandwiches, but here I am sitting at home on the couch looking at an online menu so I can order a sandwich from some cute shop in SF so I'll have food for my first ever baseball game in a couple days. So how is that relevant? I'm sitting here reminiscing about those horribly long lines I stood in during my 20 minute lunch break between classes (and seriously, those lines sucked) but being 5 minutes late for class was better than starving through another lecture and those sandwiches, they were DELICIOUS! For five dollars, you get a filling sandwich (meatball marinara, turkey, and roast beef were all delicious) with all the toppings (mm those yellow peppers were so good too!) AND either chips or an apple! How much better can it get? I also discovered chipotle mayo here, YUM! As for the other foods, I don't remember pizza being so good but the salad combo was enough food for a low price. Pho... not so good but maybe they've changed up the recipe? Pasta was filling, and you have to try the chicken tetrazzini! They have a nice selection of baked goods and coffee in the mornings, especially for those of you who have super early classes or work, and I remember the fruit here being cheaper than the Silo! If I could give it no stars, I would. I don't have any particular feelings about the CoHo, its food made by students, you kinda have to know what your getting yourself into here. So I only go here when found in desperation for food and usually stick to things that are hard to mess up like pizza and cereal. To my dismay, those have been messed up. I have had undercooked pizza on multiple occasions because I don't learn my lesson. So pizza from the CoHo has been off my list for months now. Cereal has been my go to and today when I poured my fat free milk into my special K, I noticed a odd consistency and kind mixed my cereal up. THE MILK WAS CHUNKY. CHUBBY MUNKEY CHUNKY PEOPLE. It's really hard to find a table here anytime between 10am and 2pm. Any seat is prime real estate. Cooks has everything conveniently labeled which is super handy if you're vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, etc. The vegetarian pho is actually vegan! However... the portion is so small it's not really worth it. read more

Good variety of food everyday. Pho, burritos, sandwiches, pizza. All student ran. Food is done cafeteria style. You order from which restaurant you want and you pay as you leave. Some menus change everyday. Very kid friendly and student employee are usually always very friendly. read more

ASUCD Coffee House Coho - Coffee - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Davis, California

This place is super convenient for UC Davis students if they are on campus and want a boost of energy from caffeine or want to grab something to eat! Their selections on the different types of coffee they have is good. My personal favorite is the hazelnut coffee mixed with soy milk and sprinkled with cinnamon. It's already cheap for a small cup of coffee (only $1.50!) and they lower it to half the original price during finals! I like to grab a cup of coffee with a baked good and their bakery section is conveniently located right next to the coffee area. I particularly love their blueberry muffins (only served in the mornings), classic chocolate chipper, and their huge rice crispy treats! Of all the food selections they have to offer, (burritos and tacos, sushi, sandwiches, pho, pizza, bagels, and etc.) I like their inexpensive bagels the most. It's a good lunch and stomach filler. I get the jalapeno, cheese bagel stuffed with tuna salad! I also like how they have pizza available till the late hours. I think that the sushi sashimi is pretty pricey - ranging from $7 - 10. Add a few more bucks, I can go outside of UCD campus for all you can eat sushi buffet. I guess it is because student workers don't make them and they get it ordered in. I used to come here often as an undergrad for either a quick meal, or just a place to meet with buddies and talk/do work. The atmosphere was always pretty inviting and casual, and the sheer abundance of windows just makes the place seem so much bigger. The COHO was never a place for me to get really good food, so I never really had high expectations for the dining options here, which is why I'm taking off a star. It was just a place to chill inbetween classes! I hear that there's a new look to the COHO, so I'll definitely have to check it out when I visit UCD next month! read more

I love the fact that the CoHo is so close to all of my classes and work. I come here almost everyday either to grab a quick bite to eat at Cook's or for that daily dose of coffee from Swirlz. I feel the food here is a great bang for your buck, and we all know as college students, we don't have many of those! Here's a list of things I've tried at the CoHo and still order to this day: Fowl Salad Bagel Pesto Cream Cheese and Lox Sun Dried Tomato Cream Cheese (All on asiago bagel with tomatoes) Chicken Tetrazzini Thai Peanut Chicken Boston Clam Chowder Pasta with: -Mushroom Cream Sauce -Mushroom Dill -Marinara (Try it all with Sriracha!) Chicken and Curry Pho California Rolls (cheapest, not bad) Spring Rolls Taco Salad Especial Steak Quesadilla Especial (Try the chipotle mayo!) Ciao Pizzas! All good! Their make your own salads and sandwiches are good too! I say give this place a try whenever you're looking to grab a meal in between classes. I have a little secret to share with you guys. I come here almost every day to get a slice of $2.00 pepperoni pizza for lunch! I mean it's so convenient and cheap. My classes are back to back so I need something fast. Service at Ciao is fast and friendly. I have only 2 complaints. First is that sometimes the pizza slice is a super thick crust. Too much crust and not enough pizza is no good! Second is that the slices are always varying. Sometimes I get a substantial sized slice and other times, I get a smaller slice! Is there a way to somehow make sure all slices are the same size so no one feels cheated? read more
