Location/Service This place is in the heart of Chinatown on Spadina, very accessible by public transit and there's plenty of parking around the block. The interior is a typical modern style setup. But there are a lot of different art work pieces and decor that's really cute. Not exactly sure if it's from the owner who designed it or from local artists, but definitely take a look and see the little details. Staff was very nice and orders were done pretty quickly. It's a self-serve setup where you order at the counter and they will bring it to your table. Food Specializing in baos, they have a lot of different Asian-inspired flavours to taste. There are also deals of the week for better pricing. Each bao is packed with ingredients and flavour - really enjoyed the BB Fried Chicken, BB Beef, Richie Duck, Crispy Fish. Love how the bao is also very fluffy and soft, really made on the spot. They also can do this Banh Mi style since it's a Viet-inspired place. Menu extends to other snacks like poutines and chicken wings - which are great to share if you're with a group. Overall, this place is a little hidden gem - they only opened up for a year or so. Definitely would come back and check it out again.

Got an order of bulgogi fries to go and there was a bit of a wait as it was made to order. Super nice spot, I can tell they put a lot of effort in decorating this as I remember what it looked like before they took over. As for the the bulgogi fries, it was realllllllllllly good! The bulgogi was marinated so well and the mayo + kimchi complemented it too. If I do order this again, I would not share this with anyone haha!! My friend got one of their baos but felt like for the size, the price wasn't worth it (in his opinion).

This felt like a modern Asian-hipster spot to grab a bite after walking in and checking out the interior design. I guess it's a mash-up of Viet food, Korean fried chicken and Chinese bao? Not sure if I got the countries right but the menu looked really interesting. It might be good to go with a group here to try a few things as my BB Chicken bao was fantastic with great toppings and oooey-goooey soft as candy texture bao although it seemed expensive at around $10 just for one. That was just a taster for me which was fine, along with an amazingly intense Viet coffee with condensed milk. Service was quick and efficient with my food ready to go in no time and I was on my way. Cool spot in the Spadina redevelopment happening here.

They've got pescatarian and veg options, which made it hard to pick just one. I went with the Slay Cheese (8.50$): a crispy, gooey mozzarella slab drenched in hot honey. Also tried the Ebi Bao (8.95$) with two shrimp tempura on top. Wish there was more shrimp, less lettuce, but both left me full and happy Washed it down with a Thai Milk Tea (5.50$) which was light + refreshing, but I like mine a little stronger and sweeter At nearly $10 per bao, it's definitely a splurge, but I'd go back to try the dessert bao for sure! The interior was nice too! It was modern and hip. It had lots of seating space and somewhere I can see myself hanging out with friends.

I tried 4 of their Baos namely: K pork, BB fried chicken, 5 spice and Fancy tofu. Each bao was so unique and flavorful. Even the tofu one was surprisingly good! I always liked how Viet restaurants marinate their chicken wings so the house wings immediately became my favorite! The duck poutine was also something I do not see in a lot of restaurants so we tried it! The serving was huge and the duck was not dry! We ended our meal with refreshing drinks (peach green tea, lychee green tea) which were perfect for the warming weather!

One of the best Banh Mi that I've had. We had an issue with our food initially and the staff were great to fix it right away. The place is nice and clean as well with nice decor

A must-try in Chinatown! Big portions, super fluffy handmade bao, and everything tastes very fresh. Friendly service makes it even better.

@bankbao.ca is a super cute newly opened fusion Bao restaurant with friendly staff! They hand craft fluffy white BAOs (Buns) with Chicken/Pork/Beef/Duck/Fish/Tofu/Avocado in Vietnamese/Chinese/Korean/Japanese styles... I LOVE their Duck Poutine, Imagine Peking duck crossover Poutine Their Thai Tea & Viet Coffee are super strong and flavourful ingredients were imported straight from Asia, very authentic

When they say "Home of the best handmade Bao buns in Toronto" THEY ARE NOT LYING. I didn't have this place on my list of restaurants to go to, we just passed it and decided to try it and i'm sooo happy we did. This was my favorite meal i had in Toronto. At first I was a little disappointed with how expensive our meal was, we got two bao buns each at $8.95 which adds up quickly but once I got a taste of one of the bao buns I knew it was worth the price. To start of, the bao buns are not as small as the bao buns I've had in the past and two each was enough for my boyfriend and me. The Bao bun flavors we ordered were BB Fried Chicken (my absolute favorite), Vina Chicken and the K-chick (my boyfriends favorite). You can't go wrong with any of these they were all so delectable. I also loved the ambiance and decor of this place. If you are into Bao buns and are in Toronto this is a MUST try!!

Delicious baos! I was walking down Spadina and wanted a little snack so stumbled upon Bank Bao and I'm so glad I did. I ordered the tofu bao and it was so flavourful with the perfect proportions. The ambiance of the restaurant is also great and spacious. You order up front but the food was delivered to my table. Can't wait to be back to try more baos and sandwiches on their menu.

My friend and I accidentally stumbled into this fast casual restaurant by accident when we were walking downtown during their grand opening day. The bao had lots of meat and the fires weren't my favourite. I would definitely come back again. The service was nice!

We ordered a variety of things and they were all fantastic! The fries with kimchi and bulgogi were maybe too saucy, but delicious. This is a guilty pleasure place.

We ordered 5 dishes and although there were a variety of textures and layers to each dish, everything seemed to have the same flavour or garnish. After a while everything started to taste very similar to the dish brought out just before. Crispy garlic and chili oil seemed to be the lingering taste in each dish. The only item that didnt contain these were the tacos which werent anything special. The tofu dish wasthe most enjoyable for me but again was topped with a lot of that chili oil that took over after a while. Truffe fried rice had a beautiful aroma but the truffe flavor wasnt as strong. Just missed the mark with me on this one but truly had high hopes for it. Great ambiance. Friendly service. Two levels. We had: - seafood pasta - Fried chicken w/ rice and peas - Pork noodles I especially enjoyed the seafood pasta as it was filling and flavorful. It wasn't that they charged $20-30 per entree, no... because if other cuisines and restaurants can get away with that price point, there's no reason why Caribbean can't be elevated enough to as well. It's that they charged $5 for the most piddling amount of ox tail gravy.. the nickel and diming felt greedy and left me with a bad taste. I've already paid $20-30, don't charge me $5 for 2 tbsp of gravy. I wouldn't go back, but if you want to have a slightly elevated Caribbean experience and just vibe, it's not a bad option.

What we ordered: Izakaya shrimp pasta: Very garlicky and creamy! Had a great flavour and it was very unique as it was made with ramen noodles. Would definitely be too heavy if I were to finish all of it by myself, the few bites I had were enough for me! Popcorn shrimp fried rice: Was very excited to try this one and it had a really rich umami flavour. The tobiko eggs added a nice crunch and sweetness. A tag bit oily but that is to be expected sometimes with fried rice. Half-portion of jerk chicken: Tasted pretty standard but it was quite juicy. I liked the pickles it came with!
