Beef mandu

When East meets West we have Far East Taco. Awesome little spot on the corner of Dundas and Neyagawa in the Fortino's plaza. They are a fusion restaurant that combine Korean style cuisine with western cusine like tacos and poutine. We ordered their Pork Kimchi fries and added a fried egg on top. The flavour is great love the extra texture that the egg yolk added when you break it open. The regular portion is a good size. The Beef Mandu is good as well fried perfectly juicy inside flavourful. Of course the stars of this place are their tacos and baos. We ordered 4 different tacos. We got a fish taco, pork taco, beef bulgogi taco, and pork bulgogi taco. Out of the 4 different tacos our favourite taco was the fish taco, tender soft white fish and flaky. The baos are fluffy and sweet we got the trio of pork belly, beef bulgogi, and kalbi baos all loaded with everything. The portions are a decent size lots of filling and best part they don't really fall apart on you. The packaging is a great design they have dividers to keep your taco and bao standing upright so it doesn't fall over and make a mess as you bring them home. We will be back for more soon. Feijai Out!

I absolutely love all of the flavours of the dishes. This is a family owned restaurant with all housemade marinades, pickles and kimchi. Everything is so flavourful you are left wanting more even though you're full! The bao: the baos are super fluffy and have such a great chewy consistency. they are also filled to the max. I had the tofu filled bao and it was so crispy the taco: the meat is cooked so well and has to much flavour, i highly recommend trying out the tacos The rice bowl: this was my favourite dish to eat. so much variety and you get to taste all of the different pickles. would highly recommend

Veggie Mundo

This place has been sitting on my "try this!" list for quite sometime. I was excited to order Bao because it's not something I eat often. I ordered the Tofu/Mushroom and the Pork Belly. The Bao taco shells themselves were really enjoyable, big, and the texture was really nice. I appreciated that they didn't fall apart when biting into them. I had kind of hoped the tofu/mushrooms were prepared to mimic ground meat but the tofu was one big piece. I wish that there was more mushroom inside for flavour. I am a huge fan of sauce and really envisioned spicy korean hot sauce but for me, there wasn't enough heat. On the pork belly bao taco, i added kimchi. This definitely enhanced the flavour. The pork belly pieces were cut which i appreciated as I was able to take a little bit with each bite. Both bao tacos were packed with ingredients which at a glance was impressive! But eating it, a-lot of the slaw fell out and took the sauce with it. I also ordered veggie mundo on the side which was a nice add and the sauce that came with it was delicious! I will say I also appreciated the packaging, the box for the bao tacos had a holder/divider so they didn't fall over in transit :). Overall, i enjoyed trying far east taco and I will return to try the kimchi fries!

Such great flavours in everything, nothing too spicy which was great. A great impression made for my first visit and I'll definitely be back to try something new! 100% recommend if you want a filling meal. I think the price as well is great for the quantity.

Love this spot! If you haven't already stopped by this Korean BBQ inspired spot at CNE - now's your chance to visit in Oakville! Tons of options - steak, pork, fish and tofu! Kimchi fries are a must but you also need to get a Bao bun! Ask the staff for recommendations and fan favourites super friendly staff and owner - you can tell she's passionate and the love can be tasted in the food! Located in a busy plaza but lots of parking available! Korean Fusion doneeee right

Tried out this place for lunch with my husband and son. I order the pork belly taco. My son had the all I taco. My husband had the bulgogi rice bowl. We all shared the bulgogi kimchi fries. Everything was very good. I especially enjoyed the pork belly taco. So good!!! Now we only need to travel to Oakville to get our fix of Korean fusion. We will be back again for sure! We haven't even left and my husband went back for the baos lol

I wish I could give this place a 3.5 star. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The food is fine. It's simply that nothing stood out as a wow. It was just okay. Perhaps it's because I have had better iterations of both kimchi fries and Korean tacos at a few other places. Then again, it's safe to say that at the moment that Far East Taco is the best kimchi fries and Korean tacos in Oakville.

If you are thinking of ordering from here - DON'T. I feel compelled to write a review to warn others. Ordered delivery from here (bulgogi bowl and a bao) and it was absolutely awful. It was all sloppily out together and tasted awful. It was as if everything was put together by a child with no cooking experience. The bowl was mostly just rice. Toppings were bland and didn't compliment each other. Definitely not worth the price.

The shrimp dumpling, pork dumpling and sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf were really good. They didn't have miso soup but the tom yum soup was weird with a beefy msg soup taste to it. The general tso chicken and sweet & sour chicken lacked sauce and flavor. Also, there was too much batter. The braised beef was good flavor and would good with rice noodles. The fried coconut shrimp and sweet potato fries were delicious. The vegetable dishes were pretty bad because some may not like that they were quite crunchy and the carrots had a bad taste. The server told us it was Japanese cheesecake but it wasn't. It was still pretty good though. Said they had cappuccino and when asked we were told it was espresso. The seaweed salad was strange. didn't have the flavor like most and was padded with the additional pieces of lettuce.wth.. The food was a hit and miss. Some were good and some not so good. Not the best food in my humble opinion. Sashimi sushi is very limited in choices and were sold by the piece not included in the AYCE. The ordering system was by talking to the server and a menu they had provided and was held in a menu cover that originally was for the Pickle Barrel restaurant. Wtf, how ridiculous is that. The server was decent but sure seemed like she could improve a little in some aspects of the entire interaction times with her. Beautifully decorated place but it felt very dark and the overhead lights were off for 90% of th time we were there. They finally turned them on though The music was a bit loud and made it hard to have a conversation with others. The tables are for 2 and placed together to make it table for 4. The dishes were kinda big so took up a lot of space. In conclusion, it was an okay place and food experience . The food felt like it was prepared by not fully trained chefs but the walls were very pretty images but music was loud. i would go back if invited but only have some of their food dishes that were good.

Nice selection on the menu and the atmosphere was good but the food sucks. The dim-sum dishes were passable, but the main courses were terrible. They were tasteless, one burnt, and they lacked imagination in the presentation. The dishes did not taste like Asian food at all, so I would guess they don't even have an Asian cook. I was disappointed and don't plan to go back, unless I could be assured the food has improved. I would not recommend going to the Republik Asian Eatery and Bar, Burlington, Ontario.

This restaurant was recommended to us from Naomi at Strewn Winery…read more We asked if there was a dress code as we were underdressed due to the fact we had just spent the day packing for our camping trip and driving to Canada. She assured us not to worry as the owners are very kind and it was a place you could dress up but accept casual wear as well. So off we went. Pulling in we saw it was a restaurant attached to the Orchid Hotel. And old but beautiful looking home converted to a hotel/restaurant. Once inside I saw white linen table cloths with nice stem ware and crisp white napkins and silverware. I looked at my sister and said I think we are underdressed lol. It was a Thursday around 5 pm, no reservation but it wasn't super busy yet so we were immediately seated. The host was kind, and put two tables together for our party of 5. The menu was simple which I liked. We ordered appetizers to start, the spring rolls and the crab cakes. I apologize for not taking pictures, I was tired and forgot so I'll just say they were delicious. Sidenote: I don't like seafood but one taste of the crab cake and I could have eaten both cakes myself! So very good! For the main course I ordered the Thai chicken coconut curry which had a side of rice. My hubby ordered the salmon with rice and vegetables. From the first bite we both let out yummy noises. We each took a bite of each other's food and I can say the salmon was absolutely delicious as was my curry dish. The portion sizes were great. We were both so full. My brother in law got the lamb-it looked like it was cooked perfectly and he said it was delicious. My sister got the fish and chips-it came with a couple different sauces but all she wanted was tartar sauce and ketchup. She didn't ask if they had any because she didn't want to offend the chef lol. My niece got a beautiful big salad and enjoyed it but neither enjoyed their pics as much as us other 3 did lol. The host was engaging, he explained that it's a family run business for the last 37 yrs and the last 15 years he and his brother and mother have been running it alone. His mom runs the hotel and he and his brother run the restaurant. I recommend eating here if you're ever in the area.

I think it is family run as the mom was in and out of the kitchen and the waiter look related. The service was great, food was plentiful and unique, but make a reservation or you'll be sorry!

Fantastic experience here at Lee at the Waterworks during Summerlicious 2025!…read moreThe first impression at this, the last day of 'Licious with the place oozing with a well-dressed crowd ready to have a party in the mouth that evening in July, was that the place was vibing so much it almost took down the building. Every table was occupied when I arrived, and I was happy to chill out by the bar and look over the cocktail menu. Cool that they had a drink called Shanghai 75 since my friend was from there, bonus! The menu selections were expertly picked, of course, and gave a good sense of the theme of this Asian fusion food and how the chef thinks. Take a look at my pictures and set your sights on another 'Licious coming up for one of these fun events. Think of 'Licious as much more bold and light hearted way to enjoy some of Toronto's finest restaurants and see how well they work under pressure, which make these so popular and so much fun!

We tried their top chef curry roasted chicken and I can see why they won top chef! Meat is tender, skin is crispy and the curry! Goes real well with the chicken! Coconut rice cake was pretty good too! It's not like korean rice cake, tasted more like fa gao, giving it a nice texture. Char siu bbq duck with Peking garnish was pretty good too. I love how the breast meat has a nice balance of meat to skin, so its not too oily and it makes the meat tender too. Peking wrap was kinda cold, so that threw me off alittle. But overall its still amazing! Shrimp was juicy and tender, but nothing too wow about it. But good quality! The chef even came out to greet us and have a quick chat with us! That was a nice touch, service and ambiance is nice too!! Would totally come back for it again!

I was very pleasantly surprised as the pork bone soup here is very strong, full of flavor, and reasonably priced as well. Located inside the Galleria Supermarket near the Oakville/Mississauga border, this restaurant is self serve in the same style as the restaurant in Ikea. Orders are electronically placed via a kiosk, the kitchen has a display and chime when your order is ready, and you place your tray back in a rack when you're done. Service was quick and the restaurant was very clean and spacious. The pork bone soup was piping hot, came with 2 types of side dishes, and the portions of meat, rice, and soup were well balanced. Definitely hit the spot and I'm looking forward to coming back and making this place my go to for pork bone soup

There is a menu with photos of each menu item and you select and pay for your order at the kiosk. When your order is ready, they will call your order number and you pick up the food at a small window. It was my first time there on a weekday lunch hour and the few tables that they had were also completely occupied. I had to try their pork bone soup as I think that is a good indicator of how good a Korean resto is. For a dollar more, mine came with small pieces of hand-pulled dough (totally recommend this). The soup was definitely on the spicy side, even though the menu didn't have a pepper symbol beside this dish (I wonder how spicy the spicier dishes are, the ones with the pepper symbol beside it). There were only 2 pieces of pork bone, which I felt could've have at least one more. The soup was piping hot and very flavourful, perfect for pairing with steamed rice. The 2 small side dishes were picked radish and sprouts. If you are by the Mississauga/Oakville border and want to enjoy a no-fuss lunch, come give Kim's Table a try!
