    Red Carbonara Udon

Spontaneously came across this place on a Wednesday evening and there was plenty of tables available for the two of us. We were seated right away and service was really fast and frequent. We ordered the Red Carbonara Udon (spicy), Carbonara Pork Loin Katsu, and Karaage Chicken thighs to share. All the food came out fast, fresh, and crispy. We even had to let our food cool down before digging in! While we were there, the store had many orders for pickup and delivery. But I would totally recommend to eat in while the food is still hot and fresh! (Not sure how crispy the food will still be by the time you get home). Ps: This little gem is tucked away towards the back of the plaza. (We drove past the plaza first time around since we couldn't see the store logo).

Food was great- it was not greasy. It was not dry and it was flavorful. The service was attentive. The space is clean. Parking is available in the plaza. Will definitely try again when in the area.

Pricey, but the food was good. The Katsuya udon was a bit bland, but the katsu was good. I tried both the Japanese fish katsu and the white snow spicy pork katsu. Very filling and nice portions so the price makes sense. The cheese on top of the pork katsu was great, and the crispiness of the fish katsu was incredible. There's not much to say about the service. The food came out quick and they got the job done efficiently and the order right. The interior is pretty and nobody was there when I went to nice and quiet. I wish we got something other than cold water, though, and there doesn't seem to be any beverages.

I stopped by Katsuya the other day for their 10-year anniversary special, and man, it brought back memories--I was actually at their grand opening 10 years ago! They're celebrating a decade strong with a $10 deal on their original katsu, so I had to check it out. This place is a Japanese fusion katsu spot, and it's still killing it after all these years. Walking in, the vibe hits you right away--industrial wood interior, high ceilings, super open layout. You can see every table in the place, and it's not huge--maybe 10 or 12 tables tops. I knew it'd get crowded for the anniversary deal, so I timed it smart: 4 PM for an early dinner. Perfect move--only four tables were taken, so it felt nice and relaxed. I went straight for the $10 original chicken katsu special. The staff took my order quick, and within 10 minutes, it was in front of me--freshly deep-fried, piping hot, and looking legit. They start you off with a miso soup, which was a nice warm-up before the main event. Then came the katsu plate, and wow, the presentation was on point. The plate itself had this intricate, neutral-colored design that made everything pop. It came with the katsu, a side of rice, some pickled veggies, and this relish-like salad. The katsu itself? Absolute fire. The chicken was juicy, the breading was crispy, and they didn't skimp on the sauce--thank goodness, because I hate when places leave you with a dry dish halfway through. There was plenty to go around, so every bite stayed flavorful. I cleaned the plate--every grain of rice, every drop of sauce. You can tell they've got this down to a science. I've been to Katsuya maybe four or five times over the years (different locations too), and they're so consistent. The quality never dips, and that's probably why they've lasted a decade. The staff at this spot seemed Korean-owned, and their English was so-so, but it didn't matter--they were friendly enough, and the food spoke for itself. The industrial vibe with the wood and high ceilings gives it a cool, modern edge, though it's not some massive space. It's cozy in its own way. Honestly, this meal was a steal at this special price, and even at regular price, I'd say it's worth it for how good and reliable it is. I'm giving Katsuya a solid 5 stars. Been a fan since day one, and this anniversary visit just reminded me why. If you're into katsu or just want a spot that's nailed consistency, this is it. Can't wait to come back--maybe I'll try something new next time, but that original katsu is hard to beat!

You know the food is going to be good when the other patrons of the restuarant are Japanese! We came here with our family (2 toddlers) and they were very accomodating and had high chairs ready as well as juice boxes! We ordered the katsuya katsu chicken, traditional karage chicken and the seafood udon carbonara. The food was delicious and the food came out really fast. The wait staff were also very friendly and came to check up on our toddlers to see if we had everything we needed. Highly recommend!

My go-to when I get a craving for tonkatsu! Always good food and reliable quality. Portions are good!

Katsuya has always been a tasty comfort food to us. We ordered the curry chicken katsu and red spicy carbonara chicken katsu. The service was fast and the food was delicious. The portions are huge which is great. I've been coming here since the year they first opened and I really appreciate how the flavours and ambiance haven't changed. The katsus were cooked well with a nice crunch in every bite. The curry sauce was packed with umami flavours and delicate sweetness to it. The red spicy carbonara was spicy and creamy. Will continue to come back here!

Been wanting to try here for a while...I was disappointed by the service. When our food arrived, we weren't given cutlery and had to go up to the servers to ask. I guess they had run out of cutlery so we were given the plastic ones for takeout. They also didn't give us water or napkins, which we noticed other tables had. We basically had to ask for service each time. In terms of food, the katsuya was a nice portion and very crispy. I initially enjoyed it, but my stomach reacted poorly about an hour later. I don't want to blame the food, but the restaurant didn't seem the cleanest to me. I will likely not be coming back.

Love love loved Katsuya on my visit during my toronto trip! Wanted to check them out as other fellow yelpers have ranted about this place. so I took a detour to stop by on my way to view the city. I ended up placing an order for pick up so I wouldn't have to stop in to eat while touring the city, Food was ready upon pick up and included utensils and napkins inside. I ended up getting the carbonara and the brick cheese plates. I think I enjoyed and loved the brick cheese ones much more than the carbonara one. The carbonara sauce was lacking in just about everything if you ask me. There was no taste, just a cream sauce, no cheese or nothing! Make sure to get the cheese bricks if you do not know what to get. Staff was friendly and had everything ready for me when I got there. They also let me use the restroom after I paid. DEF a fan and will be coming back for some grub each visit to the 6!

I'm always down for some tasty katsu, so when I was asked to have lunch at Katsuya, I was more than happy to check the place out. We arrived around lunchtime on a recent Saturday and the place was maybe half full. After grabbing a table with rickety, uncomfortable stools, I began perusing their surprisingly extensive menu. I finally decided to go with the Garlic Spicy Katsu ("Spicy katsu complemented with deep-fried fresh garlic") and I got that with the Pork Loin Katsu option. It arrived a little while later and it looked amazing. I mean, it's fried meat and plentiful gravy. What's not to like? This is one tasty dish. The pork loin was cooked perfectly and was impressively tender, while the curry sauce and the plentiful garlic enhanced the pork considerably. The other components, including rice and a lightly dressed cabbage salad, work well, too. I guess my only complaint would be that the sauce was just a touch sweeter than I would've preferred. I'm not sure why any sugar was added to this but it definitely doesn't need it. I'm excited to come back and try some of their many other variations, that's for sure.

I've been to Katsuya multiple times before and their katsu is always crispy and good. This time, I noticed that they have a mississauga only menu and decided to try one of them out. I got the sweet potato and cream cheese tteokbokki. They had the sweet potato purée and cream cheese squeezed onto the tteokbokki which honestly looked a little weird. I mixed it into the tteokbokki but I found it too sweet. Not sure if their tteokbokki is on the sweeter side, but I didn't enjoy it that much. I'll probably stick to the classic katsu next time.

Original Katsu and Japanese Katsu on top

Perfect Katsu! Crispy panko, delicious sauces and moist pork loin! Tried the Original and Japanese Katsu, both were perfectly done. I also enjoyed the sesame cabbage. I'm from Oakville, hoping they open a location here soon! Very polite and kind service!

The space was well organized, the staff changed the grills frequently, and the meats were fresh with marinades done just right. The deep-fried dishes were surprisingly top-notch too, with light crispy batter that beats what many a-la-carte places serve. Even the sushi rolls were much better than I expected from an AYCE place. Every item came out fresh and well-prepped, showing that they actually care about quality here. Honestly, everything felt legit. It's not easy to find an AYCE that keeps both quality and variety at this level. I wasn't a fan of their other location before, but this Mississauga one completely changed my mind. I'm not sure how much my friend putting us on wait list before arriving helped but we waited about 30 mins before it was our turn. There were 5 of us (4 adults and one toddler) and we were in a booth for four adults. The booths are pretty small considering all the things you can order. Luckily our booth was against a wall with space to put the dishes that didn't fit on the table. Dinner service was very busy as it was difficult to flag down a server to order. Once we ordered, the meats came out very fast. I think the cuts offered at Shinta are high quality for an AYCE restaurant. Currently Shinta offers an order of free A5 wagyu with your dinner. Everyone really enjoyed the Wagyu, even my toddler! The sushi that they offer was also good. I opted to eat less sushi to fill up on the meat. For dessert, the majority of us got the mango pomelo sago. It was refreshing! Overall, I really enjoyed Shinta and will be having my birthday dinner here next month! They also offer a free 6" cake if you reserve at least three days in advance.
