Cheesy Corn
Alvin Y.

I've been to flaming Kitchen in Markham before but this is my first time at the Scarborough location and I wasn't disappointed! Restaurant was clean and staff were very friendly! All the food we ordered were served on a hot plate so be careful not to touch it! We ordered the: Cheesy corn (Regular) - $5.99 - simple but still very good, would liked to have a little more cheese mixed in with the corn. (7/10) Sizzling Kimchi fries - $7.99 - fries with Japanese mayo, kimchi and cheese! Straight forward dish but with generous amount of Kimchi. (8/10) Super Deluxe Teppanyaki Rice - $20.99 - well seasoned rice served with duck, beef rolls, chicken, shrimp, salmon, shrimp with scallops. This dish was very tasty and well worth the price if you're feeling extra hungry! (9/10) Truffle Cream Jumbo Scallop spaghetti - $18.99 - truffle cream sauce served with spaghetti and jumbo scallops. This was really tasty but the truffle taste in the sauce was pretty mild, would have loved for a stronger truffle aroma! (7/10) Overall I recommend, they're open pretty late throughout the week, it especially hits the spot for a late night dinners!

Cheesy Corn & Sizzling Shrimp Noodles

Probably one of my favourite late night spots to come out and eat some Korean food! The ttbeoki and cheesy corn will always be my go to dishes. This place is super affordable and always have the best/ fast service. Highly recommend for all you foodies out there!

I have been to Flaming Kitchen about 3 times and it delivers a consistent sizzling plate experience. Before I talk about the food I do want to mention they only take cash/debit with my awkward experience of only carrying credit and paying an extra $1 to process the transaction. They offer competitive daily deals and lunch combos as well. I highly recommend the sizzling corn and takoyaki. The rice and udon dishes taste exactly how I expected with the curry being a bit muted on taste. The spicy cheesy chicken noodle is a welcome surprise and I would definitely order it again.

UGH IVE ALSO ALWAYS LOVED THIS SPOT . i love their corn cheese specials on wednesday?? $5? . i lovee their hot plate dishes - i usually go for that rainbow rice one or sliced beef spaghetti? . seating is coooollllll just normal? red booths . service is fine getting seated usually happens quick, food comes out moderate rate and the servers dont bother you too much - definitely one of my top 3 gossip meet up spots

Utter trash. 99% rice. It's like I spent $20 on a bag of rice. Is the Canadian economy this bad????

The overall quality of this Taiwanese restaurant is quite good. I especially like their seafood rice; each bite is packed with meat and very refreshing. 呢間台式餐廳整體質素不錯。我特別鍾意佢嘅海鮮飯,食起上嚟啖啖肉,非常爽。

Flaming Japanese style fried chicken

Service and ambiance are alright. The food hits every time. I come here just for the flaming japanese style fried chicken! My favourite app for sure. You can never go wrong with the spicy mentaiko beef udon, I usually get mine with some green onions. The truffle cream mushroom udon is very mild in flavour, almost no flavour sometimes. The mango slush is very artificial in flavour but refreshing. The durian slush is where it's at, if you like the fruit, not artificial tasting.

A very good restaurant that specializes in serving food on hot plates. The food is very good and there is a wide variety from rice to noodles and curry. The food also stays hot because of the sizzling hot plate, so you can take your time while eating and socializing. Highly recommend the beef and mentai ko udon and the popcorn chicken!! Appetizers and drinks are also very good. The servers are very nice, quick, polite and attentive. Make sure to reserve or go early because it's always packed. The restaurant is located in a plaza that has a bunch of bubble tea shops that you can visit after your meal as well.

A staple sit down/take-out spot in the Midland and Finch area. It is more of a casual experience and they only take cash/debit. The hot plate dishes are always delicious, however, I've noticed that the plates don't nearly get as hot enough to cook the meat nowadays. I had to request for them to cook it again. Other dishes, such as the cheesy corn, I have the opposite problem. The cheese was burnt very evidently. For the price and variety that the menu has here, it's hard not to keep coming back. If you are ever looking for a filling quick bite, this is the place to go!

Very interesting Asian fusion food restaurant. Although this kind of restaurant tends to be cheesy, Flaming Kitchen turns out to handle the creative dishes pretty well! That thing like "croquette", or fried meatball, was so delicious that I'd like to have more. I only have one thing to remind you, it's just a place for friends and family. It's definitely not a restaurant to take your partner to have a romantic meal.

The steak is not that great! It was thin. The rice cakes were really good! I think ill stick with the usual beef order

Takoyaki

My cousins that are residents here in the area suggested to go to this place. I gotta say, this restaurant amazed me with the kind of food they serve We ordered: - Flaming Japanese Fried Chicken - Takoyaki - Supreme Beef Rice - Rice Cake drizzled in peanut butter and chocolate (I don't remember the name and I cannot find the name on the given menu's online. so sorry) All dishes were delicious! The Rice Cakes got my most attention compared to the others. I usually don't eat these rices cakes but I will eat this one! I highly recommend trying this place out. So many options!

Top, Left, Right Black pepper chicken spaghetti, Black curry cheesy beef rice, Supreme beef rice

Came in roughly at 9:30 pm. The restaurant was quite packed but there was a table to seat me and my friends. The interior has a simple design with nothing too flashy or outstanding. The service was good, the food was brought out relatively quickly and the atmosphere was comfortable. Ordering is done through an online menu that is accessed by a qr code at the end of the table. However, there was a promotional event happening when I ordered, so those specific items were ordered by communicating it to a server. I ordered a Black curry cheesy beef rice. Flaming kitchen serves their beef mostly raw, as the plate when served is very hot. You can cook the rest of the beef by pressing it against your plate, which I think is pretty cool. The taste of my dish was so-so. It didn't taste bad, but because my dish was cheesey as well as a curry, all the flavours were mixed together. I tried a bit of the Supreme beef rice and I did like that better. It being fried gave it a fresher taste that was more enjoyable. Overall 3.5/5, I think it's a decent spot with a nice atmosphere and food that I think is strictly average, I would not say it tastes extraordinary.

Takoyaki. 6.8/10.

It was hearty and flavorful! The eggs were very runny and I used the English muffins and delicious garlic home fries to soak it all up! Everything was delicious!…read more The bone marrow was rich and flavorful yet hard to believe the warm milk bread was the star of the show (we even got some extra to-go). Who woudlve thought brocolli, strawberries and whipped feta was a wicked combination! Duck sliders were also a hit. Beautiful modern decor and excellent service. I've been wanting to try this spot for a while but never got around to it, so we decided to go…read moretoday. Overall, it's definitely on the pricier side. Personally, I felt like many of the dishes were elevated or fancier versions of Asian classics. The crab truffle chawanmushi was super creamy, with crab meat on top and truffle flavors. For $40...ya idk it wasn't anything crazy and I would have loved it with a bowl of rice (maybe that's me being too Chinese lol). But also I've seen other review of the chawanmushi and it seems like every time, the amount of crab on it is different. Mine didn't seem to have as much compared to the other pictures I have seen which just tell me that they have inconsistencies. It just felt like a lot to just be eating on its own. The mala cream udon was really tasty, I loved the creaminess, cheesiness, and the addition of Chinese pork and spices but it also felt like something that could be make at home. The tuna tataki came with only three pieces for $22, which felt quite small for the price. The flavors were good, but the portion was underwhelming. My favorite was probably the Basque cheesecake it had a rich, creamy texture with a slight hint of saltiness. The Korean fried chicken sliders were also great, the crispy chicken with a well-balanced sauce. For drinks, we got the Zazatar and Golden Pear, and both were really good. The Zazatar, in particular, was quite strong which I liked. While the food was enjoyable, it didn't quite feel worth the price. For this style of food, I think you could find similar options and flavors at a more reasonable price point elsewhere in Markham. Nothing of the dishes like blow me away which is why I'm saying this. The staff were very kind and attentive, which I appreciated. However, the timing of the dishes was a bit off. We received and finished the tuna, then the sliders came out, followed by the udon. Finished that and then we waited about 15-20 minutes before my main (the chawanmushi) arrived, which by that point my partner had already long finished eating. I understand that chawanmushi takes longer to prepare since it's steamed, but a heads-up or better coordination with the rest of the dishes would have been nice. Like severing the appetizers at the same time and serving the mains at the same time. Instead of having the dishes come out one by one and such a long wait between the mains. The space itself is beautiful, with an upscale vibe, great for catching up I don't regret trying it, but it's probably not somewhere I'd return to.

We got the razor clams, 12 wings and beer special (after 8:30pm), smoked beet and pig ear salad, brisket and ribs and bun bo hue. The 12 wings and beer would have been such a good deal except the drink was pretty watered down. We brought it up to the waitress so hopefully they change that in the future. The wings were crispy,m and delicious. The razor clams tasted good too, but it only comes with 4. The smoked beet and pig eat salad was one of our favourites! Unique, flavourful and good crunchy textured. The brisket and ribs were another favourite. Tender and flavourful. The bun bo hue was good too. Service could have been better.
