Order the Truffle rice cake! It has a bold truffle flavor. I love the sauciness of this dish! The sizzling plates lack flavor despite adding the sauce! The portion of the mango slush was worth your money. The sukiyaki hotpot was flavorful.

After a bit of window shopping at Vaughan Mills, we came over for lunch. The menu is quite extensive and took me a while to get through. There's the option to order with a server or with the QR code on the table. Service isn't notable here. The only interaction we had with the server was them bringing our food and the bill. The wait wasn't too long, and our dishes came out one by one. Each dish came out sizzling. One of my dining companions ordered the deluxe set. This came with shrimp, scallops, salmon, duck, beef, and chicken! Definitely worth the extra few dollars if you like all of these. The spicy chicken noodle wasn't too spicy for me, and it had great flavour. We all really enjoyed our dishes. My only regret is not ordering dessert.

This Pepper Lunch imitator has a pretty wide menu, but falls short in its attempt to replicate the experience. It also doesn't quite stand as its own beast, either. Meat lovers Teppanyaki (with added cheese) was decent. It had chicken, beef & duck. The sauce wasn't as good as Pepper Lunch's plus they charged for more sauce. If I hadn't added cheese the dish would've been too dry. There was a good portion of meat for the price ($14.99) though. Shake shake fries (seaweed) were so so. The fries themselves were decent, dusted for crunch. However, the seaweed powder had little flavour, even when I poured it on liberally. The shake shake bag was much too weak - I shook a bit & it broke. Service was Asian, especially as ordering could be done online.

If you want to hear the sizzle then head down to the Flaming Kitchen. Flaming Kitchen offers sizzling Chinese rice, noodle & app dishes. It's hard to pick between customizable DIY options & teppanyaki, but we settled on some popular picks: - Black Curry Pork Cutlet Rice ($15.99): crispy katsu accompanied by mild curry sauce - Super Deluxe Teppanyaki Rice ($19.99): shrimp, duck, beef, scallops, chicken, salmon - Sukiyaki Beef Soup Udon ($14.99): with sweet soy sauce & enoki mushroom - Sizzling Cheesy Corn ($5.99): sweet corn cheese pull is always a crowd-pleaser This was good but we wished sauce flavour was bolder. Even still, the dishes satisfied our appetite with plenty to-go too. This is certainly a hot spot for affordable Chinese food.

No-frills fusion casual Asian restaurant Service: The staff handled our orders well and brought out the food fairly quickly, nothing too special to write about. Food: The numbing spice shrimp udon dish was more spicy than numbing, despite what the name suggests, and the spice level built up a bit as you ate more of it (also because the sizzling plate was really hot as well). The popcorn chicken was well done, as were the fries (which had crispy bits on the outside, very similar to the type you find at Costco). However, the portion size for the noodles was definitely on the smaller side. My co-workers who had the rice dishes said it was more filling (although it may be due to the volume of rice rather than the proteins/veggies). The food reminds me of that you would find at a HK cafe-type restaurant. Atmosphere: The restaurant wasn't too busy, but it was a weekday lunch so that was expected. The decor was nice inside the restaurnt, and was clean and cozy. Overall: Great for a quick lunch or get-together, affordable and decent food. Tips: Debit or cash are the only accepted forms of payment.

Sizzling okonomiyaka fries. They are fries. On a sizzling plate. With okonomiyaka. A hit with the kids.

Came here on a Sunday just as it opened at noon. The menu is biased towards meals on sizzling hot plates and fried fare (which is completely on brand). If you are looking for a lighter meal, you might want to keep looking. We did order the salmon and shrimp salad which came exactly as advertised (Salmon. And shrimp. On a salad). It had an interesting and pleasant char on the entire salad. Their signature dish is rice, with your choice of meat, placed on a sizzling hot plate and tossed in a garlic butter and sauce. You can add sides, like an egg. The hot plate is served to you so you can make yourself a nice fried rice. The hot plate comes surrounded by a paper ring that warns: "This plate is over 200 C. Please be careful & don't touch the plate!" This keeps the oils from splashing off the sizzling plate and on your body. Pro tip: if you are a six year old kid you can also use the ring as a crown. Pro parent tip: Don't let your kid do this. The restaurant has a generously overpriced drinks menu; lots of variety but $6.95 for a Ribena soda? I mean, I guess that's expected in a restaurant, but it still hurts. My reco is to drink water at Flaming Kitchen and then go to one of the many bubble tea stores in the same mall. The restaurant applies 15% gratuity for parties of 7 or more. But the servers tell you this when you come in and again when you pay, which is good. If you have a toddler, you should know that the restaurant isn't best. I mean, the food comes with its own safety warning! Also, no change tables or high chairs that I could see.

Perhaps because I was starving, so it felt that the food takes longer to arrive. But boy when the cheesy corn appetizer came, it tasted like heaven! Super cheesy and creamy, sweet and Savoury at the same time! I also got their flaming chicken appetizer and loved the flavour and seasoning! Husband ordered the creamy spaghetti with duck breast, and I ordered the curry pork chop. Both were delicious and we devoured all the food completely! Took away a star because the service could use some improvements. for example, the server did not wipe our table before seating us (there was a wet cup stain on the table), did not give us water until we asked him half way through our meals and he actually wanted to serve the food from where my toddler was sitting. We had to ask him to serve them on the other side. Minor things but he could be more thoughtful.

Really exellent food. I loved the black pepper beef sauce rice a lot. We also ordered the chicken katsu and korean kimchi noodles. Personally i like thin beef dishes more. Really appatizing

Unassuming from the outside and not a big space inside, but I think I'll be returning based on convenience. Flaming Kitchen has a simple offering - a variety of build-your-own meals featuring a protein, a sauce, and a carb, all served on a sizzling hot plate or bowl. Generally speaking the food is not unique nor exceptional in flavour or presentation, so not that much to write home about. The experience has been reliable and nothing of concern, and I'll be back for a simple meal where I know I probably won't have to wait to be seated (except for weekend dinner rush). Their location is very ideal for convenience and proximity to other complementary vendors too (bubble tea!) so that's really great. Back to the food. The sizzling hot plate is no joke so it's a cooking and eating experience. And seriously - BE CAREFUL! Once your food is served you need to make sure your protein of choice is making good contact and getting flipped to get the right cooking happening right away. It all smells amazing right away because of the hot plate but no you can't dig in immediately. The rice is very thoughtful in that the sauce is contained within, allowing your hot plate to grill off your meat right off the start and then you can lower the temperature and spread out the rice once you've got everything seared. Noodle dishes have the sauce mixed through already, so you'll need to ensure to push things around to avoid it sticking and burning, and still ensure to find your protein to get it contacting the hot plate. Protein portions are generous for the price, and one plate of food overall is definitely quite filling - more than a lunch, perfect for a full dinner. They also boast single portion hot pots or double portion hot pots that I have yet to try, but look quite promising as well. This option looks like it gets a bit more expensive on build-your-own, so I do recommend the preset combos. The downside of course is that it takes even longer for things to be boiled than seared on a plate, so patience is key. One thing I noted is their water containers are super dusty at the spout - probably because of the hot plates spraying oils and sauces everywhere and that splash work hits where they don't expect. Do your inspection and don't be afraid to ask for a clean(er) one! This knocks off a star all on its own - but is easily rectified.

I always wanted to try this place. Every Friday - I take my mom out to go grocery shopping and to go eat since we do not spend a lot of time together since I've moved out. We had to get some Christmas shopping done at Vmills and I rmbed this place opened plus they had lots of different durian desserts which is my mom's favorite fruit. I ordered their super deluxe teppanyaki rice $19.99. Came with rice, beef, salmon, duck, scallops, shrimp and pork - my mom wanted to try this as well and it was super delicious. I thought it would have been plain because you cannot see any season or sauces but it IS THERE! It is in the rice! AND HOLY, it was so gooooood. The sizzling plate charred up the rice and the meats soooo nicely and the sauce was just too perfect. My mom got the House special curry Laksa shrimp soup udon $12.99 for us to share, it was a bit on the sour side than savory but still very good. We also ordered the durian spring rolls $8.99 that my mom loved too much to share. She ate the whole thing lol. I cannot wait to bring my hubby here. We still have a couple more people to shop for and will be making another trip here. There's a couple of things I wanted to try from other reviews. I want to try the sizzling okonmiyaki fries, Tom yum shrimps and their jumbo unagi teppanyaki rice - it looks so delicious! This place was super clean, their tables were spaced out and the server wore a mask and gloves. It was reassuring to know they took every precaution to keep us safe. Happy Eating fellow yelpers! Stay safe and well until we eat again! xox

Sizzling meals at a great price! Love that there's also an option to customize your own plates but I stuck with their Truffle Cream one. Excellent flavour and portion! A tad let down by their dessert though and would order something different or go elsewhere in the plaza. Would come back here just for their sizzling meals :)

Small but cute interior inside Flaming Kitchen Woodbridge. Limited seating, but fine for parties of 2 or 4. I ordered the Black Curry Cheesy Beef Rice, and while it was cheesy and delicious- the meat/ protein portion is small in comparison. Still was an overall great meal.

Lobster tasted great and bun was good. Really liked this dish. Then we tried the scallop risotto which I have to say is super rich so need to share this dish. The biscoff pancake came with three pancakes, plenty of biscoff cream, side of berries and a mountain of whipped cream. It was pretty good, too sweet for my liking but worth a try. We also ordered the GK Burger which came with fries. The burger has a nice Smokey flavour and was very tasty but was too pink in the centre for my liking. Ask for well done if you prefer it that way. Fries were crispy and good. For dessert we got the baked Alaska which is enough for two to share I think. It's a nice balance of sweet and tart. Drinks were tasty as well. Iced latte, matcha coconut, sparkling lemonade, and sangria all were great. Also get the scones if you like scones because theirs are a solid 5/5! Personally, I felt like many of the dishes were elevated or fancier versions of Asian classics. The crab truffle chawanmushi was super creamy, with crab meat on top and truffle flavors. For $40...ya idk it wasn't anything crazy and I would have loved it with a bowl of rice (maybe that's me being too Chinese lol). But also I've seen other review of the chawanmushi and it seems like every time, the amount of crab on it is different. Mine didn't seem to have as much compared to the other pictures I have seen which just tell me that they have inconsistencies. It just felt like a lot to just be eating on its own. The mala cream udon was really tasty, I loved the creaminess, cheesiness, and the addition of Chinese pork and spices but it also felt like something that could be make at home. The tuna tataki came with only three pieces for $22, which felt quite small for the price. The flavors were good, but the portion was underwhelming. My favorite was probably the Basque cheesecake it had a rich, creamy texture with a slight hint of saltiness. The Korean fried chicken sliders were also great, the crispy chicken with a well-balanced sauce. For drinks, we got the Zazatar and Golden Pear, and both were really good. The Zazatar, in particular, was quite strong which I liked. While the food was enjoyable, it didn't quite feel worth the price. For this style of food, I think you could find similar options and flavors at a more reasonable price point elsewhere in Markham. Nothing of the dishes like blow me away which is why I'm saying this. The staff were very kind and attentive, which I appreciated. However, the timing of the dishes was a bit off. We received and finished the tuna, then the sliders came out, followed by the udon. Finished that and then we waited about 15-20 minutes before my main (the chawanmushi) arrived, which by that point my partner had already long finished eating. I understand that chawanmushi takes longer to prepare since it's steamed, but a heads-up or better coordination with the rest of the dishes would have been nice. Like severing the appetizers at the same time and serving the mains at the same time. Instead of having the dishes come out one by one and such a long wait between the mains. The space itself is beautiful, with an upscale vibe, great for catching up I don't regret trying it, but it's probably not somewhere I'd return to.
