I have not eaten here since 2006. The place is still good, and my order was made fresh. I ordered a chicken burrito with rice and beans, and it was soft, flavorful, and hearty. Service was excellent as always and the place reminds me of being in Mexico. It's cute with a Hispanic cultural style of restaurants. Easy parking abs prices are economical

    Shredded beef burrito. So yummy!

Customer service goes a long way with me. The service was phenomenal for being a small shop. I ordered a shredded beef burrito, as that is what they're known for. The tortilla was very nice, had chewiness to it that I really liked. The shredded beef was flavorful and I loved the refried beans in it. As I was driving by, I noticed the historic look of the building which drew me in. I thought, if this place has been here this many decades, they gotta be good. I feel I made the right choice. I really enjoyed my burrito as we drove back to Sacramento from SoCal. I'll definitely stop by again during my nest drive dow

Got the beef chimichanga for about $8. Pretty good price these days. Inside was just meat and cheese. No rice and bean filler. A good amount of meat too. Came out quick and was tasty with some hot sauce poured in it. Will definitely come back

I've stopped by this place for the past few times I've been in Pasadena. The staff are so friendly and kind. I always get the taquitos when I'm here. This is a small establishment with limited seating and it's even more limited during inclement weather. I would happily continue to support this business as Pasadena continues to rebuild itself.

    Bean & Cheese Burrito.

Old school since 1978. I got the Crunchy Beef Taco, a Carne Asada Soft Taco and a Bean & Cheese Burrito. The Crunchy Beef Taco was tasty and flavorful, but the meat in the soft taco was a bit gristly. The Bean & Cheese Burrito could have had some more cheese (my Humble opinion) but it was also good. I've been here twice now and they have lots of regular customers. The lady that runs the lunch crowd is super friendly and helpful, I'm going again just to see her!! (and to get the JVC Burrito). Prices are reduced when you pay with cash. Burrito Express is A'OK.

5 Star burrito spot in Pasadena! I tried a grilled shredded beef burrito with beans and cheese. Chefs kiss! If you've ever grilled a tamale then you need to have your burrito grilled, hands down. They have an excellent selection of burrito styles that reminds me of the wet burrito style. I'm looking forward to trying the spot on a regular basis with family and friends. It's a great idea to take it to go and enjoy at the local park. Quick tip, use cash to pay and receive a lower price. Although both cash and card are accepted. Staff is friendly and will make recommendations if you don't know what to try. I liked their salsa verde, just the right amount of heat. Their salsa roja is all about flavor with little to no heat. There are tables inside that remind me of a former taco stand I would go to with my grandparents. It definitely has a nostalgic feeling.

Burrito Express is a Pasadena institution -- it even has its own dedicated wiki page lol We got the Ross Perot and Pasadena burrito Vic's special. Honestly it was just ok...we got mild and there wasn't much flavor. Also they didn't include any additional salsas so we ate plain chips. My biggest gripe was the salad..the lettuce was soggy and the tomato was half frozen. This restaurant donated money to the wildfires which is so amazing. I'd come back and try other things!

Quesidilla w shredded beef which i love

Hi , Went again the other nite. Got the quesidilla w shredded beef. It was yum. But u do have to pay extra for onions and cilantro which i think is not ok. I get charging extra for sour cream and guac. But their guac is not good , its not real guacamole. Wish they used real guacamole. And i don't care for the mild red salsa , i like green salsa but its too spicey for me. :( but the burritos and quesidillas are good , just think onions and cilantro should be free ( like years ago )

Service was prompt and quick. I got the pasadena burrito and fries. It was good. The burrito was flavorful and the sauce was a good add on. The burritos ain't small here.

Staff were quite nice. When you check in on Yelp, you get a 15% discount on your entire meal. Nice! We decided on a chicken tostada and shredded beef burrito to go. Service was fast. There are 3 inside booths and several outdoor table and chairs. The food was mediocre unfortunately. Even with salsa in the meals they were lackluster. They are several other choices in the area so next time we'll go elsewhere. They have a very small parking lot and some street parking.

No drive thru, but their service is unusually fast.

Is there rice in the burritos?

There can be. It's classic Mexican rice- some burritos come with it but you can add or take it out of any burrito. I special order all the time

Fluffy, snow-soft ice piled with real mango cubes and a milk drizzle on top - and even in the single-serving cup size, it was seriously worth it. We also tried the green tea bingsu, topped with matcha powder and mochi, which was solid but the mango stole the spotlight for me. Pro tip: the single size is pretty generous on its own, so unless you're trying to sample a few flavors, one cup does the job. We split two just to try different options and it worked out great for that! Parking along the street was hit or miss, but we went pretty late at night so it wasn't too bad. The only thing that's been a consistent issue is there's nowhere to sit. Seating is available inside and there's even a few tables outside but this place is so popular that all the seats are always taken. Be prepared to take your desserts to go. We were done about an hour before our reservation time. We hoped to be accommodated earlier but saw the long line and crowd waiting as we drove by. We decided to run a couple small errands instead. We arrived about 10 minutes before our reservation. It was still busy, but there were not as many people waiting. The hostess was so warm and welcoming. She let us know that the customers at our designated table were almost done and that they will have it ready in just a few minutes. Unfortunately, those customers decided to linger much longer. Thirty minutes later, they were still hanging around. We fully understood that this was not by any fault of the restaurant. We continued to wait patiently. The hostess was very apologetic and was trying to work out a solution which led to the Floor Manager (Karla) getting involved. We were eventually seated at another table, with the option to move should the other table become available. Karla then took the time to apologize for the wait and unfortunate first impression. As we got started with drinks and a pastry for the daughter, the other table opened. The hostess immediately came to move us. It all went smoothly from there. Table service was casual and attentive. We started with the Chocolate Almond Croissant and the Baguette & Bordier Butter. The daughter tried the Iced Matcha Latte. For our entrées -- Shakshuka, Patty Melt and Brioche Eggs Benedict (with salmon). I was eager to try the Potato Gravlax, but it was sold out. :( Everything was so, so delicious! Fresh and flavorful. Lovely presentations. Very good portions. As we were finishing, Karla came to our table again to express her gratitude for our patience and understanding. She gave me her business card with an offer to contact her directly should we need another reservation. On our way out, I stopped to compliment the sweet young hostess for a job well done. Wonderful experience. Beautiful decor. I would give Oh La La 10 stars if I could! We will most certainly be back!

I originally stopped by to pick up their famous cinnamon roll, which made the lists for top 10 cinnamon rolls in LA County. Unfortunately, they didn't have any cinnamon rolls the two times I stopped by. (I think it had something to do with how their AC is currently out and awaiting repairs). Not wanting to leave empty handed, I decided to get a few slices of cake instead. And boy am I glad I did! So far I've tried their red velvet cake, vanilla cake with strawberry frosting, and a seasonal strawberry cake. The cakes were all rich and on the denser side, and were a cross between moist and crumbly. Each cake also paired exceptionally well with the velvety thick frosting. So the backup plan was a rousing success, as all three cake slices were fabulously indulgent and the perfect treat. ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh.
