I wrote a review after 10 years of using Burden Auto Care in 2018, so I thought I would update it 8 years later in 2026. We have used Burden since 2008 on 5 Honda/Acura vehicles our family drove and never had anything but a great experience. 8 years later, we have now used them on 3 Lexus vehicles also, and still the same great experiences. They are knowledgeable, honest, fair, clean, do great and efficient work, and we use them for all expected maintenance and unexpected repair service work. My dad recommended this auto care place due to them also servicing Lexus and Toyota vehicles. In the past I usually go to Toyota dealerships for service but I am reconsidering going here for all of my future Toyota needs. You do have go call to make an appointment, when I arrived the front desk personnel was not able to find my appointment recorded on her documents, however they are very nice and was able to check my car for what is needed for servicing. My brakes were squeaking and they said they did not have my brake pads in stock, were able to order them and received them next day. He also mentioned that he didn't feel comfortable to install off market pads on my vehicle. The seating area is clean and tidy, they have a coffee machine, water cooler, and a vending machine for sodas if you desire. The service is great, the prices are extremely reasonable. They are honest and tell you when something is not absolutely needed. They even told us we didn't need the higher-priced synthetic oil for our older car. I highly recommend Burden Auto Care as excellent automotive mechanics for your Honda, Acura, Toyota or Lexus vehicles. I've been a loyal customer for seven years. Bryan Burden runs a very honest repair business. The mechanics will tell you if something needs to be replaced. If I could continue driving the car without making the repair, they would advise me to wait and see. For example, my 2008 Accord wouldn't start sometimes when I turned the key. Bryan advised that I needed to turn the key back and forth a few times to overcome the issue (fuel pump) before turning the ignition all the way. Bryan was right, and I didn't have to make the repair. Honesty and integrity are their core values, which goes a long way, in any business, towards establishing long-term customer loyalty. Back in 2017, I found Burden Auto Care by reading the reviews of Honda mechanics near me. My 2008 Honda Accord wouldn't start and I needed to tow it to a nearby Honda repair shop. Burden Honda had very good reviews from their customers. When I met Bryan Burden, he was very straight forward with me about why he started the company and how he ran his business. To Bryan, the business is more than just repairing cars to him. Bryan genuinely likes helping people and it shows in how Burden Auto Care treats their customers. Tim Swafford joined the business in 2020 as a business partner. Tim also has a great personality and has been very helpful to me over the last four years. Burden Auto Care installed a new starter in my 2008 Accord and I became a long-term customer. Between June 2017 (174,477 miles on the odometer) to June 2021 (248,299 miles on the odometer), Burden serviced my Accord with the following repairs: new front axil, new radiator, new power steering, new alternator, new trunk spring, 2 new VTEC solenoids, new sway bars, new A/C compressor, resurfaced rotors and new brake pads. The more miles one puts on a car, the more likely these types of repairs need to be done. Burden always diagnosed the issue with the correct repair. They know how to repair Hondas and Acuras. Burden kept my car running mechanically sound up until June 2021, when I totaled the Accord in Elgin, Texas. I purchased a Lexus in July 2021 to replace the Accord. Unfortunately, Burden only works on Honda and Acura models. I was super disappointed that I might lose my mechanics. I called Burden and spoke with Tim, and asked if they would work on my Lexus, since I had been a long-term customer. Tim gave me some great news when he told me that they hired Stan - a Toyota and Lexus mechanic. I didn't have to find new mechanics. Now, Burden works on Honda, Acura, Toyota, and Lexus models. My girlfriend has been taking her 2014 Honda Accord there for the last two and half years. She is also very happy with Burden Auto Care. Burden continues to be my go to when it comes to service and repairs on my Lexus. The owners and employees are very honest and treat their customers like family. It's a good feeling to know that I'm being given good advice. Burden really cares about their customers and are in it for the long-term. Our long time trusted Honda mechanic in the Heights (Import Automotive) decided to retire after over 40 years in business, which left us in need of another shop for our Civic. I don't trust just anyone with our automobile maintenance (I wouldn't take my lawn mower to one of those quick lube places) and I'm not a fan of shops that claim they can work on everything. I also don't like paying dealer prices. I've known about Burden for a long time; just never had reason to try them since we had Import Automotive. I can do the oil myself, but when the C2 maintenance indicator came on I had to take it to a shop because it involves brakes, which I was not up to dealing with. I read many positive reviews beforehand so I had a pretty good feeling going in and I was not disappointed. I made an appointment beforehand and was taken in exactly on time. The service writer (owner) was very knowledgeable and personable and knew exactly what needed to be done. In addition, he recommended a transmission fluid change. The car has over 60,000 miles on it. Honda does not show this as a maintenance item but I knew that it needed to be done based on experience with our previous Hondas at Import Automotive. Honda transmissions do not have a filter and at that mileage the oil is very dirty. Also, rather than simply change out the cabin and engine air filters they instead inspected them and determined that they still had a way to go before they need to be changed. They could have just as easily sold me new filters. They also determined that the brakes still have about 30% of life left in them and recommended inspecting them again at the next service interval. In summary, I feel that Burden is extremely knowledgeable about Hondas, and they are honest, and proficient. I found the cost for the C2 maintenance to be extremely reasonable as well. All work was completed in about an hour while I waited. So I'm glad we've found another good place to take our Honda. Now I need to find a similar shop for my Tacoma (Import worked on Toyota too). read more

My Honda Pilot had suddenly developed the infamous phantom rattle. I took the car to Burden, they put it on the rack, looked under the hood and could find nothing wrong. Didn't charge for the diagnostic time. Of course, a few days later the sound appeared again. Once again, I took it back to Burden because I knew that they could figure it out. The mechanic and I took a test drive lasting probably 20-30 minutes. He was able to hear and diagnose the problem and when we got back to the shop he was able to fix it. It turned out to be an easy fix. I was pleased that he had figured it out but was especially pleased when there was no charge for their services. Initially took my 2014 Accord to Spring Branch Honda dealership when it wouldn't start. after doing their diagnostic, the dealer stated I needed to replace the throttle body and gasket quoting me $700. My friend suggested I get quotes from other shops and referred me to Burden Auto Care as her and her family were past customers when they owned Honda's. So they did their own diagnostic and come to find out I didn't need any parts replaced. It was carbon build up which they cleaned and now my car is running fine. I just saved hundreds $$$. Also want to mention their exceptional customer service. I believe her name was Wendy who answers the phones. She was extremely helpful and courteous since I was communicating back and forth through phone calls and emails. She answered all my questions promptly. I have taken my 2012 Honda Accord to Burden for several years for maintenance and repairs. Two weeks ago I took it in for a whirring noise it was making that would get louder with speed, so loud that passengers couldnt hear me or people on the phone. They diagnosed it as the left wheel bearings and "fixed" it but the noise was still there. I called and asked if they could find the problem and fix it and they said it must be the right wheel bearings were also the problem. They agreed I would only be charged for whatever fixed the noise. They replaced the right wheel bearings today and there is no noise! And when I went to pay they said it was no charge! Double bonus. So honest, reputable and fair. read more

We brought in our Acura to have brake noise checked. Other shop told us we needed new pads and rotors since the rotors were glazed. Burden Auto kept an open mind and quickly checked the brakes on short notice near the end of the day. To our delight, the noise was just from a faulty reinstallation of the emergency brake hardware by a previous shop. Burden quickly found some parts spare in the shop and fixed it for no charge. We will definitely make them our go to shop from now on. They bent over backwards to work around our schedule and resolved the issue quickly and honestly. I was introduced to Burden Honda Care by a pharmacist friend in 2000. I took my 97 Honda Accord in for an oil change and Bryan enlightened me about my car. Lisa would always make you feel like family and Bryan was the educator They were always approachable and ready to answer any questions I would have. I came to trust their judgment and felt comfortable with them repairing my car and performing the scheduled maintenance. I was satisfied with the care of my vehicle to the point I would tell people - family members and friends - about my car repair and maintenance at Burden Honda Care. We love Burden!!! They are honest and does not do any repairs just to do them unless you really need it. We thought we needed a new transmission and it was going to cost a lot of money to replace it. Other places would have just replaced it and we wouldn't know any different but Burden told us we just needed some repairs on our current transmission which cost less than half of the amount we would have been charged for a new transmission. Wow... I am impressed. My a/c died over the weekend and we weren't sure what was going on. I sent a message through Yelp on July 4th and got a response right away. The next day they figured out what was going on with my ac, found that my radiator was also cracked and had everything ready to go by that afternoon. They also took care of my left blinker that had been hyper for a long time. This is the first time I've gone to a local shop instead of the dealership for a major issue and I think it's going to stay that way. Labor was very reasonable and honest. Just took my car in for assessment. Not a long wait, but they weren't that busy today. It seems well managed. The owner appeared genuine and brought me out into the shop to show me my brakes and a sway bar I needed replaced. The assessment didn't take long to get. Unfortunately I'm not getting my brake service done there, but its more so that the dealer has a lock on the parts and were able to be competitive.
