The the alignment service was done in a timely manner with excellent results All of the areas that needed service/replacement were placed in a couple of categories: Immediate need; watch and wait; and good condition. The receptionist was very helpful in explaining the different services and why they were important. The prices were reasonable - this was stated several times in customer reviews . Took my old car in for a detailed inspection to see if we needed to replace the engine or even worth it to get it fixed. Jon and his team decided it was best to replace a spark plug and do more testing. The results were pretty bad, meaning we would have to replace the engine. Long story short, Jon explained everything to me pretty clearly and looking back on it, he felt terrible that we chose the path of replacing the spark plug, which in the end wasn't really needed. He ended up charging me just for the labor, which nearly cut my total in half. Jon was honest, up front, provided great communication and a sense of trust (something rare nowadays with shops trying to make the extra buck). If you have another auto repair shop you use, stop using it immediately. Like right now. I can gaurentee you that Jon and his crew are the most integrity-filled, hard working, and honest car men you will find in this area. I would venture to say they are the best I've ever used in my experience with cars; my family agrees fully. To start, we are a family with many a car under each of our belts. My current is a 2013 Nissan Rogue with 104,000 miles but we've had a 2015 Chevy Cameron with 32,000 miles, 2008 Nissan Titan with 100,000+ and 2009 Honda Fit with 100,000+ all recently worked on with Jon and with every single one it has been nothing but awesome to work with him. I'm not a car person. I can turn it on, fill 'er up, and it a tight situation could change a tire (provided I have Google open the whole time), so to have him explain what he was doing (without going over my head) and honestly working with what time I have and what finances I can work with is pure gold to me. Especially after I had a little bit of a stressful transmission experience at a different place on the same Rouge he is fixing like he's a car MD. Anyplace can have customer service especially places that have something to sell (or upsell *cough cough* dealers *cough*) buts its a rare treasure to find honest service. From providing a quote to setting up an appointment, the individuals working here could not be more professional. After already being impressed with the customer service, I was blown away today when I received a call from John to tell me that the service I requested was not actually needed and there would be no charge for taking the time to inspect the brakes! 6 years later from my original review and this is still all true; Finding a decent auto mechanic that will do quality work and possibly more importantly be completely honest with you is the Holy Grail of automotive repair. I have been using Corb's Auto Repair now for a few years and it still amazes me how genuine they are. These guys know their business well and are good at it. But they also have the amazing trait such that if they DON'T know something or CAN'T do something that you need done, they are open and honest about it and if they will give you recommendations if possible. That speaks volumes about them... volumes. When they do any work, they are up front and forthcoming about costs and stick to it. When trouble shooting an issue for you, they contact you once they've determined what it is before doing anything and they tell you what they find, give you your options (and pricing) and let YOU make the decision on what you want to do. I no longer feel like I have to be "on guard" when I talk to my mechanic. I recommend them to EVERYONE I know and so far the responses have been the same as mine. Unlike Timothy's review, the "fish" scared me at first because I think more mechanics use this symbol unscrupulously as a way to garner unwarranted trust and take advantage of people. I am proud to say that I think it is genuine at Corb's. I have spoken with Al on occasion, but usually deal with his son Jon and I couldn't be happier with them and their shop. read more

The dilemma of finding a repair shop with integrity is over. While looking for someone I wondered if they would tell me it needs things it doesn't really need. Or are you ever concerned they might make something up. Our a/c was out and we took it to another shop that recommended a lot of work. I paid for the diagnosis fee and brought it to Corbs. They went through it calling me at each stage. It ended up needing a lot less than the other shop mentioned. Save yourself a trip and take your car straight to Corbs. Went into Corb's today based on previous reviews. I must say that my experience with Corb's is very unlike any other mechanic shop I have ever been to. First and foremost the "office" portion of the shop is designed more like a house than a shop -- very clean, welcoming and somehow gives a "down home honest" feeling. That feeling is then put into action by the people there. They are hands down the most friendliest people of any auto shop I've ever used. In my experience with my car Jon went out of his way to ensure that my car would be ready same day, I didn't really ask or demand it.. He just made it happen on his own. Very forthcoming about pricing and what to expect -- No surprises or upsells for things you don't need. While waiting for my vehicle I also had the opportunity to see Jon in action with other customers, making me realize that the personal attention he afforded to me was not a fluke.. He's really that way with EVERY customer who walked in the door. Numerous customers came in while I was waiting for my car and it seemed like Jon knew every one of them by name. There obviously is a lot of repeat customers here and Jon is exceptional with his customer service. I decided to take my wife's car here based on suggestions on the Nxtdoor app. I was also pleasantly surprised. Her car has 55k miles on it and we have heard some brake squeaking, so I told them to replace brakes and turn rotors plus give an oil change. They gave us a call and said the brakes look like they have ~40% life remaining. Imagine that, honesty in an industry known for screwing people. While they may have lost a $300 job, they have gained a customer, another great Yelp review, and countless verbal recommendations to friends in the area. I know NOTHING about cars, but after 35 years in the hotel business, I know more than a LOT about service....and that's what Corb's delivers! Took my car in today to get a state inspection and have my brakes checked. They sent me home in an Uber and called me a few hours later to tell me that my car wasn't actually due for new state tags for another 6 months. Bonehead me had taken the wrong vehicle in! All well and good as I had to have the brakes checked anyway. Turns out it was a minor problem and we agreed that I would pick up the one car and leave the other for the state inspection the following morning. They didn't charge me a PENNY for the screw-up on my part, or the Uber. I offered to pre-pay for the inspection the next day and they DECLINED because they were worried that the vehicle might not pass and didn't want to put me in that position. Who does that? Service oriented businesses like Corb's, that's who! They could have taken my 30 bucks and had me come back a few weeks later and taken it again. But they didn't... service AND integrity! I will never take my cars anywhere else. For the record, this review is totally unsolicited and spontaneous. This family owned business represents the best of the best. If you are like me, you consider a few professions necessary evils. You HAVE to do business with them, but too often feel like you are being cheated somehow. One of those for me is my auto mechanic. You do the best you can to find someone you feel is reliable as possible. For me that is Corb's Auto Repair. I've dealt with both Al and Jon Corb and feel they are going to do their best to solve my problem and to make sure I am satisfied. In these situations, I don't count value by finding the cheapest mechanic; I count value from the personal touch, the cheerful, positive attitude, by not being chastised for the way I've neglected or abused the vehicle, by not having additional, more expensive options thrown at me unecessarily, by wanting me to be completely satisfied when I leave. Corb's offers outstanding customer-comes-first service. I'm from out of town and found Corb's through Yelp. I was not disappointed. I first called on the phone and spoke to Jon. Without even knowing if he was going to get my business, he spent ten minutes on the phone discussing possible scenarios with my vehicle. I brought it in the same day and he took a look at it. It turned out the dealer to which I had previously brought my vehicle did not do a thorough diagnosis. The dealer recommended routine spark plug/fuel injection work, and I would have wasted $800. Jon sat me down and explained in excellent detail what was wrong with my engine and why it was in need of roughly $2000 worth of work, if not more. I know very little about the inner workings of an engine, but he had diagrams to illustrate the technical language that normally goes right over your head at the dealership. I began a hunt for a new vehicle and again sought Jon's advice in the used car market. With his suggestions I found an ideal truck, and I brought it to Corb's for a used-car purchase inspection. He gave it the okay, and I've never felt better about a vehicle purchase and the health of my vehicle. The shop worked with me to get aftermarket parts which had a five year warranty at a reduced price. A ride was provided to my house to drop off and pick up my truck.
