I've been here a couple of times, just for state inspections though. They have coupons in the local paper and mail, so look out for those. They have some negative reviews, but they all seem to be for oil change services from customers who don't understand that prices for oil changes are partially dependant on the type of filter and amount of oil your car uses. If you come in with a car that has an unusual filter shape or size, it's going to cost extra here as well as most other places. The coupons are designed for regular cars with COMMON equipment. Never had any bad experiences and they get me in and out as quickly as they say they're going to. read more

We just came here for a quick car wash. The automatic car wash is not too bad. Before we pay, the car wash started to glitch and I was really nervous about it. But once our car wash is complete, it washed pretty good, the high-pressure was pretty good to. Just the system needs to be replaced including the dryers but overall the car wash did good 3 stars. read more

One name: RUDY! I'm going back to Northpointe just because of him. Taller, older gentleman, his customer service was way past stellar from beginning to end!!!! He greeted me with a big smile and took my keys as soon as I walked in the door. I'd be willing to bet he's just a nice guy in general. He pointed out a couple things I need to have done on my vehicle, he didn't pressure me to do any additional service or buy an upgrade for some high mileage oil that never seems to make much difference in the performance of my vehicle. I appreciated not having to deal with that hassle. I had a coupon for a $20 oil change with a free wash, can't beat that with a stick! It got me there, good customer service and fast turnaround is ensuring I return. I also spoke a few words with the owner, Heather. She was pleasant but seemed much more of an introvert personality. Northpointe Express Car (Car Service). I took my wife's car there for an inspection. The guy said a bulb was out and that it was $6 or $7 to replace. I said fine. A couple minutes later he said it might be $9. I checked out and he said it was $11. I left and looked at receipt, with tax it was $13. I wished I had verified that the bulb was actually bad. read more

I appreciate quick service with my vehicle inspection, but I'm deeply bothered that there are no masks being worn around this place. I should've followed my first mind and drove away when the guy walked up to my vehicle maskless and then proceeded to get into my vehicle without a mask. I understand if you're physically working and find it difficult to wear a mask, but when you're directly dealing with a customer (whether being in their personal space or checking out) a mask should be appropriate. There's no signage even requiring masks inside the building. There's a restroom for hand washing, but no sanitizer in sight. I only stayed because I knew it would be over quickly as I was the only customer there. Won't be back. read more

I'm giving this business 1 1/2 stars. The 11/2 is because they did my car's oil change extremely fast, but that's because I was the only customer there. That should have been a warning, but I didn't heed it. I was a first time customer. I came in with a coupon for a $27.99 oil change. When I checked out, he attempted to charge me over $40!!! His lame explanation was that my car cost extra because it took over 5 quarts and because it had a circular oil filter, thus instead of actually honoring my coupon, they take a mere $7 off the cost of a regular oil change (which is listed on their board as $34.99?) He told me that's how they do it. I told them they weren't doing it that way today. He got me the manager and after much wrangling, they honored their coupon. The manager admitted he should have told me the price beforehand. (Yes, he should have. I would have taken my car to my dealership). And to add insult to injury, their car wash was broken as well, so there's no telling if/when I will get that perk that I really wanted to use. I won't be back. read more

Brought both our cars here on a Saturday for oil changes and yearly car inspection. Even though they were busy, the wait wasn't too bad-they were very efficient, came to ask questions about what we want with no hard sell about choosing more expensive options, and it comes with a free car wash. Not the cheapest place, but was convenient, friendly and efficient. read more

I only go for inspections as I do most of my own car work but every time I get fast and friendly service. This is a family owned business run by down to earth people. Fathers and sons working side by side. One of the few shops around that can still inspect OBD I cars. Wife dropped off for oil change and had a $10 off coupon. Price after coupon was still over $65 and was just an oil change. None of the fluids were topped off and she even had a low pressure tire light that showed up in the last two days and it's still here. I would not recommend them for an oil change. I've had my car serviced here a dozen times and the service is top notch. My last service they noticed i had a turn signal light out and brought that to my attention. They have a punch card that they offer its either after 10 or 12 oil changes you get 1 free. Oh and they even send out coupons via email and its always around the same time you either need another oil change or sticker. Im saving the BEST for last .......included in your oil change is a FREE car wash in their touch free system. As you can see i honestly have nothing but great things to say :) read more

I called the Northpointe Express Care at 11516 Westlock, Tomball, TX 77377. I spoke to George. I was told they have the correct filter for my car and the cost would be in the range of $50. When I arrived I told them I had spoke to George and I wanted an oil change and was guided to the visitors area. I found it strange that no one asked me to sign anything or discuss what I wanted. Finally a service tech came in and told George (he had been sitting in the visitors area talking to a lady the entire time I was sitting there - not business). He looked at me and said, Sonic? He got up and eventually came back with a small clip board with a brief form for my info and what I wanted done to my car, he said he would pick it up later. After a good bit, another guy called White Sonic and I walked up to the counter with the clip board and form. My car had the oil changed without any agreement from me or review of what I wanted. He entered the information in the computer and informed me that I owed 83 or 84 dollars. I asked how that happened. I was quoted in the $50 range and suddenly it's almost twice that? He explained that it was synthetic oil and a $10 charge for a special filter. I told him he needed to get George in there. George was pretty much as useless as he is incompetent. He informed me that it was synthetic because he told them that instead of blended and didn't discuss that with me. Also that the filter he told me they had was special and was an additional $10. When I asked why he didn't inform me of this. He decided he would give me $10 off and use a money mailer coupon since I was so unreasonable. I paid $73.25 for an oil change that I was quoted to cost $50 some dollars. When I went out to the garage a few hours later I backed out and noticed that there was something on the floor or the garage. It was oil, about half a cup. I took the car to another place and they told me - wrong filter and over filled. I had the oil re-changed. I contacted Valvoline Express Care Corporate via email. I got a response that they would have the local owners contact me. Eric called and basically informed me that he had done the work himself and knew nothing was wrong. Essentially I got attitude and called a liar. It's okay, I now have the correct oil and filter even if I have been ripped off, lied to. Here's to never darkening their door again. read more

Never go to Northpointe Express Care and Car Wash in tomball they come up as a valvoline express location. They ripped me off today. My car is always 70 for synthetic oil changes. The sign said 69.99 and I had a 10 off dollar coupon. The guy looked at my car and came back. Then he said "I need to replace the oil filter. Since it is foreign it is going to be 98 dollars plus tax total with the oil change." I told him my husband puts filters in it. He said it isn't the air filter that needs to be replaced it is the oil filter. I told him okay. Then a few minutes later the guy waiting next to me said that doesn't sound right. I called Seth he said "What!!! That comes with the oil change let me talk to the guy." I was too late they already drained my oil. I called the two other valvoline express locations and asked them how much for my 2009 VW beetle. They said 65. They are privately owned. Northpointe Express Car and Car Wash sucks! I talked to he shady owner he was cocky and defended his deceptive sales practices. He says he has to make a profit on oil and filter cost. I went in this morning to go get my inspection renewed and everything was fine and the service was okay. My car passed, i paid and was on my way. I get in my car and get home to find out that one of the employees stepped on my auxiliary cord somehow breaking it off into pieces in my radio and then putting it back together to look like it wasn't broken. When i hopped back into my car i noticed the other end of the cord was laying on the floor board in the drivers seat, but was in the passenger seat out of the way with all my other stuff in my car. i had to get pliers to pick out the pieces and im not sure if my radio or the jack for the auxiliary cord is damaged because of this. I'm disappointed at the fact they tried to play it off like they didnt just break my property and still have me pay for my inspection because of this I do not recommend this place. The employees aren't honest and I would not trust my personal belongings around the type of employees they apparently have. If i could give 0 stars i would. Now i have to go repurchase a $20 auxiliary cord which is what i paid for the inspection( only reason i went at all was a $5 coupon that i used). treated my car, belongings, and me as a customer with disrespect, as a company I expected more. read more
