I had one day planned for travel to get to Baton Rouge so needless to say I was worried I wouldn't be able to find a shop to get it in and finished. I started looking to see who I would call in the morning. I came across auto fix and after reading other 5 star reviews I was sold. I woke up in the morning called spoke with Daryl (nice guy) he said they would do their best to have me ready to go. When I went to bring it in I found that I had a flat tire. :( I brought it in and met with Chip (also a nice guy) he made me feel confident I was in the right place. At this point I talked to 2 very nice and knowledgeable people. They assured me they would do their best to have it done that day. If you have German Cars, or Perform cars. Please void this place. I don't think they have experience on the German cars, especially the perform cars. I dropped my M3 to change oil only and it took almost 3 hours for oil change. At the end they told me that is hard to change oil on my car :) and told they were nice when charged me flat fees not for 1 hour labor on my car for oil change :). Totally disappointed. My fail when i wanna try new shop close to my house but.... Never again. read more

Paid $3,000 for repairs to my vehicle. Have taken it back for the same issues about 4 times in the last 4 months. Issues still remain after each trip. I asked to speak with the owner, and was told he would reach out to me. That has not taken place to this day, was told my money would not be returned. I have done business with this shop over the last 10 years. Never had problems in the past. Quality of work is greatly lacking, and the value is over the top. I recommend not taking your vehicle to this place. Actually took it back just last week for the same issue, and they come up with additional charges of $4,000. Never mind the first issues still are present. I have worked with the same repair guy in the past, Nguyen, and he seems to know his business well. YIKES! What a sketchy place. I took my car in here a few weeks ago because it was having some trouble getting into and out of second gear. I don't really know much about cars at all so I decided to take it here since it was right down the road. I took it in for a diagnosis, and the next day they call me saying my transmission was shot (which I don't think is even possible if i'm able to drive it) This fix would have been incredibly pricy and would have costed more than my entire savings to fix. I figured something sketchy was going on so I took my car back and towed it over to a family members house and he took a look at it. It turns out they didn't even preform a diagnosis, and the real problem was a computer that was inside the car. This place was totally fine with making an 18 year old spend their money saved for college due to their shady practices or incompetence. Do NOT take your car here. read more

The three times I have been here have been nothing shy of professionalism from this establishment! Oscar has gone above and beyond in taking care of us each time. I don't usually write review on yelp but I think auto shop like this should not even exist. My brother took one of our old family car for 100k service, which supposedly covered spark plug changes, oil changes, fluids flush, etc... Looking over the service sheet, the shop was very non-transparent of the service done with extremely high costs. For example, Power steering flush, it listed part cleaner for $5.97 and BG Power Steering kit of $107.99. What kind of "kit" that would cost $107.99? and what kind of oil that needed to be put in a 12 years old SUV that require oils at the cost of $107.99? On top of this, there's labor costs of $37.99. Same for coolant flush, transmission oil flush, and brake fluid flush all just says "kit." Most importantly, they did not even offer to replace transfer case oil for the 4x4. For the record, Fuel injection kit was $90.99, Brake fluid kit was $58.99, Power steering kit was $107.99, Coolant flush kit was $68.99, transmission fluid was $71.99. For anyone looking to get their car fix, I would shy away from shop like this that'll only try to rob your hard earn money and not being transparent of the parts being used and the labor costs or labor involved. read more

Called ahead and asked about how long the wait was for inspection. Wouldn't give an exact answer but said they could get it turned around pretty quickly. Showed up less than 15 minutes later and they wouldn't let me wait, drop off only and 2.5-3hrs. They should have said that over the phone. That's BS, never going there again. "The Fix is In" they say as their slogan, and indeed it is! First, a little background. Driving back to Houston from OKC my wife's 2007 Honda Pilot started having a dead misfire at highway speed. I've got a code reader and it was #3 cylinder (P0303). Limped it back to Houston and took it to a local shop I have always used - they will remain unnamed but they only work on Honda/Accura and I have always trusted them with my Honda - they've always done a good job and offer a good warranty. Anyway, the Mechanic (who claims to be part-owner) tells me they diagnosed it by putting in another coil they had "laying around the shop" and it still misfires. Plus, they couldn't get the plug back in all the way so they think a lean condition overheated the cylinder and warped it. Need a new engine, probably $4,000. After some thought, I initially agree because I trust this shop and would like 2-3 more years out of the Pilot, tell them to get me a detailed quote and call back. They call back and say engine prices have gone up, probably not worth it to replace, should just scrap the car. OK, it still drives but difficult to get above 45MPH so time to shop for a new car I guess. But before I do, I'm just gonna get a second opinion. In hindsight, I'm a dumba$$ for not questioning their shoddy diagnostics - using an old coil "laying around the shop" - WTF??? And if you suspect a lean condition, you didn't check the fuel injector? AutoFix is open on Saturday unlike a lot of other independent shops. So I drop it off and Craig "fast-talking" Duren is at the desk (that's my nickname for him). He talks fast, but he's not a "fast-talker" in the slimy salesman sense. This dude knows what's up. Says he's got the best diagnosticians in the business and he's right. They look it over, do a bunch of diagnostics, find out the plug was cross-threaded by the previous shop and they can heli-coil it to clean up the threads. They borescope the cylinder to make sure it is still good, put a NEW coil on it, a NEW sparkplug, do some fuel injection service and throttle body cleaning on it then do a compression test and THE CAR RUNS LIKE THE DAY WE BOUGHT IT!!! $217 and we are fixed! Thanks to Craig and his team for not giving up (like the previous shop) and having the attitude they can fix anything. They'll shuttle you back and forth while they work on your car and they do PROPER and THOROUGH diagnostics to be sure they and their customer knows what kind of repairs are necessary. read more

Took my truck there yesterday to have it checked out for a charging system failure message. Everything was explained thoroughly, and told me of a few other minor things. No pressure to get those done right now as most places will tell you. Work was done in a reasonable amount of time. One of a few places in the area that I feel comfortable taking my cars and not feel like I'm going to get ripped off. I used to bring my car here for over a year. I had a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix, so every time something was wrong with it I got it fixed there. I probably left about $2000 there within a year. I thought since its an older car stuff breaks so I didnt think much of it....until last time I went there for an oil change. I had no problems with my car prior to the oil change. About an hour after I got the oil change my car breaks down and wont turn back on. Well anyways, turns out my engine is broken. I got it towed back to Autocheck. I think its kind of weird how they didnt notice anything being wrong with my car if they just worked on it. After they looked at my car they told me that its just old and has a lot of miles on it.... there were 134000 miles on it which actually isnt that much and its a 2002 in good condition. They said they could put in a used enging with 180000!!!! miles on (so way more than my engine had on it) for $4000. I ended up having to sell it to a junkyard. I wonder now if they have been ripping me off all along. But I learned my lesson and I will never go back there with any of our cars. I hope this review will prevent you from going there. Unfinished oil change! Got my oil changed here and noticed the next few days I had a growing oil spot in my garage. Looked under my truck and oil was coming out of the filter. It had been a couple days so oil had sprayed under the engine/k member and suspension parts. Not to mention it was all over my exhaust toward the middle of my truck. Drove back up there and was talked to like I had no idea how an oil filter works. Was told my particular yr truck had an issue with the oil filter location and it's hard to get to! . Also that it's possible that the gasket on the filter was pinched, if you have ever seen a gasket on an oil filter you know that is not possible. I changed the oil in this truck while laying on the ground a few times right when I got it. (It's brand new truck so I wanted a shop to start doing it so I could have maintenance records if any warranty issues came up). These guys had my truck on a lift and couldn't get the filter on tight enough so it wouldn't leak ‍‍. Office staff told me not to worry they would change the filter for me. When the tech was done he brought me my keys and explained all he did was clean the oil up. No filter was changed!! To make this whole situation so bad, is that the owner never came and talked to me. I wasn't looking for a discount or money back! Simply for him to notice something was up with this transaction and step in to try to make me feel better about the situation. That alone is the reason I am here on yelp, techs will make mistakes, it's up to the Owner/Manager that was present to make the situation right. A simple "Sorry for our mistake" would have made this a whole lot different. read more

Had repairs done after my check engine light started blinking and could feel a misfire. Initially didn't think much of the quote. It wasn't until recently that the issue resurfaced and was forced to leave it at a shop in Katy. It was that shop that pointed out Auto Fix never supplied me with a list of codes that read from the check engine light. Once Auto Fix provided those codes, other things came to light. There were things that came up in code but were not addressed on the quote. Vice versa, there were items on the quote that never came up in code. Spent nearly 3K to replace parts as suggested by Auto Fix, which in the end did not solve the problem! Now I'm looking at spending another 4-6K to fix the real issue. They had also advised repairs could be done by the end of the next business day, which was a Tuesday. I didn't actually get my truck until that Friday. I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Pretty great experience. Dropped my Jeep off on a Wednesday morning and needed it by Friday morning for a road trip. After looking it over it was found that there were several serious problems with my engine. The guy helping me (named Nick) told me he didn't think it'd be done in time but that he would do his best. They nailed it and got it done in time. Very impressed. The price tag was a bit alarming, but the experience was nice, customer support and facility was excellent, and my jeep is driving great. A solid 4 stars! And I didn't feel at all like I was being cheated out of my money like some of the other garages in the area!! read more

Autofix probably saved my engine! When my daughter's engine started smoking she pulled over and waited for me. I drove it from Longwood towards our home. At Telge and Huffmeister it stopped shifting. Thankfully I knew right where to go. Managed to coast into Autofix and had 3 techs on it in a matter of seconds. 2 hours later I left with a functioning car and a very happy teenager! I took my truck to Auto Fix in Magnolia Texas on FM 1488. I paid $745.00 for repairs and picked it up. 3 blocks down the road it had the same problem. When I called the manager he told me to take it to their Spring Cypress location because they had a more experienced technician. I took my truck to the Auto Fix located at 15131 Spring Cypress Rd., Cypress Texas. After having my truck for over a week I was told it needed a new motor. I told him that was ridiculous and that I was going to get a second opinion. He told me that if I was able to get the truck fixed without replacing the motor he would refund my money. I drove my truck to Beck and Masten and left it there for their analysis. I was called and asked to come look at my truck motor. When I got there I was shocked to see what Auto Fix had done. During the time that they had my harmonic balance off, their "EXPERIENCED" technician used vice grips to turn the crank shaft, leaving deep grooves in the shaft. They couldn't get the harmonic balance back on, so the used something to file or grind out the inside of the harmonic balance. After ruining it, they couldn't get it installed, so they pounded on it with a hammer of some kind, finally getting it installed. While they had my motor apart he also damaged my oil pump. Both the harmonic balance and the oil pump had to be replaced. My total bill for the repairs came to just over $2000.00, most of which was due to the damage done by Auto Fix. I took pictures of all of the damage and set up a meeting with the Magnolia manager. After looking at the pictures, all he could say was that he would have to contact the owner about it. After not hearing anything for a few days I contacted the manager of the Spring Cypress Auto Fix. He said he didn't know anything about the situation. We met and he told me that I would need to talk to the owner of Auto Fix about it. After explaining the whole thing to the owner, I told him that all I expected was that he makes good the promise of his employee of refunding my money, along with paying the $350 I was out for car rental. He told me that he would have to get with the manager of the magnolia store and that I would hear from him by the end of the next day. I never got a call. About a week later I got a text message from the manager in Magnolia asking me for my email address because the owner would need to email me his decision. I have never heard from anyone.
