I called Pierce County Handyman for reinstalling 4 outside corner sections of baseboard and adjusting 2 transition pieces that had been installed improperly previously. They scheduled me for a visit about a week later so an estimate could be provided. Then a day before the scheduled visit, they asked to reschedule it due to a personal reason. I agreed to reschedule. They showed up on the second appointment and provided me with a service quote and a proposed service date. I got back to them 2 days later confirming the service and was informed the previously proposed date was no longer available. They then proposed a new date in the morning which I agreed to it. 1 day before their schedule service date, they call asking to reschedule from morning to afternoon, which I also agreed to. Then on the date of service, they texted me 2 hours before their scheduled start time to attempt to reschedule for a different date. I let them know that I had made plans for the work to be done that day and that if not possible, then to cancel the whole thing. They weren't able to come out and the service was canceled at my request. A total of 3 weeks and a half went by with multiple service days agreed to and subsequently rescheduled on Pierce County Handyman's request. In the end, no work was done...

We suspected this would be an expensive project, so for years, we just put it off. Finally, last year we decided to get it done. In addition to the closet doors, we also replaced 5 interior doors for "free" (I say "free" because there were other costs associated with the interior doors). Yes, this was an expensive project--there's no sugarcoating that. BUT, it was worth it. Someone comes out for initial measurements. Then, you go to the showroom to pick your doors, and get a breakdown in pricing. The cost of the doors adds up quickly (e.g. knobs, installation cost, etc.). But, they're not trying to pressure you into anything. Once you place the order, it takes several weeks for the doors to come. In the meantime, someone comes back out to do more precise measurements. The install took a full day and a couple of hours the next day. After watching them work through some challenges with the install (e.g., crooked walls), I began to understand why it costs so much. I mean, I don't think we would've gotten close to the same results going with a big box hardware store. It's been about a year, and our doors still look great. We just wish we would've tackled this project sooner!

It seems to be due to moisture which would be expected of a bathroom. We were told the only thing to do about this is to sand it down and repaint and that this is not covered under warranty. Disappointing. Even more disappointing when considering that our old door which the previous owner spray painted with cheap paint they had used for the rest of the house held up much better and never bubbled like this under the same conditions and for much longer. Initial service and experience was 5 stars but those aspects are short-term interactions. The durability makes it 3 stars because durability is something we have to live with. It was also something we were initially sold on when Rich claimed their doors had superior durability due to the painting process and type of paint they used.

Owen Sokso was the representative I worked with at Puget Sound Window and Door. I picked out the doors I wanted and Owen came to my house and took measurements for the size of doors I needed. He then provided me a document containing the model, color, dimensions of the doors to be ordered. I signed this document and paid a total of $15,911.56 upfront in cash. The document required my signature for each door being ordered, noting the accuracy of the door being ordered. Well when the doors arrived I had one door that was 4 inches too short, the others were fine. Well shame on me for not double checking Owen's measurements; I am 74 years old and at my age I trusted the professional to take accurate measurements. My eyes are not the greatest anymore, and this is what this gentleman does for a living. Later when I spoke with Owen to see how we could correct the issue. He said that I would have to order another door and that he would give me a 20% discount. These doors aren't cheap! They would not exchange the door to make it right, and would not give me a refund for the too short door. They already had my money at this point and advised that I had signed the document for the order of the too short door. So as a warning to others when doing business with this company, make sure you do your own measuring after you receive the order document (don't trust these professionals to get it right). Second, consider paying with a credit card instead of cash, at least you have a bit of insurance knowing you can dispute a charge. And finally, just know that this is how I was treated when an accident happened, that began with their mistake. People can do better... Here's me with my quality too short door. Doesn't matter what quality you have if it's too short!! God bless.
