For years we've had nothing but unreliable, poor service, horrible work with most if not all the different types of contractors, construction, etc...we've hired in the past. So glad we found Rain Proof Roofing. Although our situation was really no big deal(cover to attic), I suggested to my husband to hire someone to do the work because when my husband last fixed the problem, it didn't hold up, apparent the guys who fixed and cleaned our roof last year didn't nail it down either, and the strong wind we had for a minute yesterday tore it up, and flew off. I've had Rain Proof Roofing out twice to my place (two separate issues). Travis setup the initial estimate for a fix to the saddle and flashing area above the chimney. He was very knowledgeable and gave excellent tips on roof care as he was looking over things. Matt then came out a few days later to actually do the work and he was very professional and did an excellent job. It's now about 8-10 months later and the work has held up just fine through some crazy rain and wind. A separate leak has now presented itself in a different area of the roof and Matt came out today to check on it. He was able to quickly identify the source of the leak. His customer service went completely above and beyond as he quickly fixed it on the spot which was tremendously gracious of him. He also was able to give some additional tips on the expected longevity of the roof, which is helpful to plan ahead for. I'll definitely be giving them a call when that (unfortunate) time arrives. lol. Short version: Friendly, professional, high quality work TLDR: I contacted 6 roofers for a pin hole leak that was causing wood damage around a sky light. Some of the companies were friendly, others were, competent, some were not - not even close. Wow. After suffering through terrible interactions with incompetent and/or dishonest contractors for years, these guys are nothing short of a breath of fresh air! From the first contact (quick, timely and professional) to the first appointment (flexible and expedited because of the level of leakage in my roof) to the bidding process (above board, honest and fair), to the installation (skilled, well executed and using premium materials) to the cleanup (trees and shrubs properly protected and not one nail, shingle flashing or even sawdust left behind) to the final cost (entirely reasonable), this project was flawless. Matt was my primary contact; he's a true professional. An expert in his field, communicative and pleasant, he was terrific to work with. Mike stopped by the site as a good business owner / supervisor should and kept an eye on the work as it progressed; I only dealt with Cindy on the phone but she, too, was pleasant and responsive. Getting a new roof is expensive. Like buying tires for the car, it's an expense that eventually has to be paid one way or the other and, especially during COVID and with the uncertainty surrounding the economy right now, it's something you probably don't want to deal with until you finally end up being forced to. When I set out to reroof my home, Rain Proof was the last of three roofing bids. Rain Proof Roofing's bid was the highest, but I was impressed with Mike's knowledge, manner and responsiveness. Rain Proof Roofing just finished updating the roof of our 69 year old house (built in 1952). Mike (the owner) came out and identified exactly what needed to be done to fix the areas of sagging roofline. Mike recommended a layer of plywood sheeting and set us up with the correct shingles and materials for our budget. (It's hard to believe that all previous owners had never put plywood sheeting on the roof, and we still had the original tongue and groove boards.) We were impressed that he did not try large up-sales like the other roofing companies we interviewed. In the end, Rain Proof came in $6k below the competition's bids. As great as Mike is, the real stars of his team are his office staff and roofers!! When our scheduled day of installation arrived, we were enormously impressed at the efficiency and hard work of the crew. It took two days to plywood sheet and add asphalt shingles to our home. At the end of each long, hard day, the crew left the area around our home tidy. We're happy with our roof. It looks great, and we hope to get many years of use from it! I am impressed by the ease of doing business with Mike, Cindy, and their team! We asked for a quote and Mike came out and got us numbers within 24 hours. We received other bids around the same price but the way Mike gave a copy of the estimate and so quickly (not to mention the yelp reviews) we chose them. We got a roof cleaning estimate from another company that said our skylight needed fixing and quoted us a really high price. We used Rain Proof Roof to do a full roof replacement late last year. From the beginning, they were very responsive and transparent. They did an awesome job on our roof, and every time we contacted them about something that was less than perfect, they fixed it without question. After the roof was replaced, we had some issues with water spots in our dining room. Mike was able to correctly diagnose that our old chimney was to blame (nothing to do with the work they had done). Nevertheless, they had the chimney off within a week. Sure enough, we haven't had any issues since. The Rain Proof Roof recently replaced my chimney flashing and surrounding shingles and I couldn't be happier with their work. As a new homeowner in Seattle, I'm finding that many contractors have really poor communication skills (I'm not talking language barriers) and are not interested in doing small jobs, so I feel like it's worth calling out that nobody at Rain Proof Roof made me feel like my job was "too small" or "not worth it" and that goes a long way. Robert came out very quickly to quote the job and collect a deposit, and Mike followed shortly after to do the work. I received multiple bids for this relatively small job, but Rain Proof Roof stood miles above in terms of friendliness, comprehensive communication, emailing me a written bid, and general customer service. When Mike was here doing the repair, he took the time to explain to me exactly what was wrong with the existing flashing and what he was doing to remedy it. Found a leak in my garage coming from the hot water exhaust vent. Called on Sunday and Mike came out Tuesday morning and took a look. Found that the seals had cracked and been broken which was allowing water to get through. Mike fixed the problem and resealed it for free.
