I bought my roof over 17 years ago. It's a 50 year roof and it came with a warranty. I have called them back for minor issues and they have always responded well. And quickly. Currently, I'm looking at replacing a pipe on the roof and they have been very helpful and guiding me to people that can help me fix this and if any roofing is needed with this job, they will be available. I can't say enough good things about Gerry. He is a good guy who is very honest and very knowledgeable. He's a straight talker and he's very kind. I have recommended this refer to two other friends they had worked on in the last three years and both have been very happy. With this company, the saying "you get what you pay for" is very true. Contacted for a quote. Was told it'd be a month before someone could get out to assess. Requested a more timely quote as the job is time sensitive. (Leaking causing futher damages) Was told maybe can get someone out next week. Awesome thanks! 2 days later I'm watching telly and hear noises on my roof, no knock on the door, no courtesy call, just some random crawling around on my roof. I learn he's from Stevenson roofing. I contact them to say hey thanks for your speedy assessment but some kind of notice that someone was attending would be awesome in the future. To which I was met with a rather rude attitude and the salesman stating "we don't have to inform you" fuck that! This is my house . I used Steveson Roofing for many roofing jobs for 20 years, full roof replacement to small leaks. Timely, honorable, integrity. John Stevenson the owner I knew was respectful and kind and the work was excellent My recent experience was completely different. Jerry, was not part of the picture years ago, but he is now! My new roof that I had replaced in March of 2019 was beautiful until the ridge caps leaked bad with dripping water down the horizontal support beam and pools of water on the upper floor of my unfinished garage. Called Stevenson Roofing and got Jerry, (any of the 3 numbers you call go directly to Jerry) he claimed that this wind/snow storm that winter was 1 in a 100 years, highly unusual, he'd lived here his whole life (so have I) never seen it and will never again according to Jerry. In spite of the weather report he was crowing about, he did not offer to come out to look at what I had going on. He told me of a woman that had a similar problem and she took out 5, 5 gallon buckets of snow out of her addic and she called him back and told him he was right and it's just a fluke and it will never happen again! Omg! I let some time go by and called another roofing company out for their opinion and estimated cost. Armed with this information I attempted to give Jerry one last chance to redeem himself based on my past relationship with Stevenson's Roofing, looking for that integrity that I once knew. Well, he started giving me the weather report again and more excuses getting more and more heated and aggressive. I remained very calm and stayed with the facts of the other roofing companies estimate and the problem, and that he needed to honor his written guarantee! He refuse, first he said that he would pay for the other company to fix i, BUT if it leaked later I would have to pay him back! I was just blown away! This man is a bully and extremely condescending to women, of which I happen to be. He was infuriating, and patronizing! I don't know how to install a roof but I do know that a brand new 28,000 roof is not supposed to leak!!! The ridge caps are faulty, so they are leaking in heavy rain/snow/wind, regardless of the weather they can not leak!! if I paid 28.00 for the job then that's on me, but I didn't. I expected a 28,000 non leaking roof! I don't normally do these reviews but this story needs to be told for others, especially those that don't know a lot about roofing. It saddens me that this great relationship I had with this company is gone. There are good companies out there but unfortunately Stevenson Roofing isn't one of them anymore. read more

The estimator, Jerry, came out from Stevenson Roofing today to give me a bid on a total reroofing of our house. I was very surprised that the company didn't cancel the appointment because it snowed last night and there is an 1" to 2" on the roof. I had scheduled several estimators to come out on the same day. Another highly reputable roofing company had called first thing in the morning to cancel and reschedule explaining that they needed access to inspect the roof for the estimate which made complete sense to me. So when Jerry from Stevenson Roofing showed up, he told me that all he needed to do was take measurements of the roof and "what else is there?". I asked "isn't important to be able to look at the roof?". His comment was "You want to change the roof, right? Well there." Common sense tells me that if you were a professional roofer that it might be important to actually consider not just the square footage of shingles needed on a roof but all the substructures, all the flashing, and whether the roof had any other issues. (I know that you can't see the sheathing or wood decking but by walking around the roof, you can get a sense of it's integrity). Also, as a professional, it's your job to help guide the homeowner to inspect the condition of the shingles and to access whether it is really at its end of life. From seeing the whole picture (forest from the trees), an estimator can do a better job at getting a correct estimate to the homeowner. In any case, I let this matter pass and decided to continue with the appointment. He asked what type of roofing were we interested in? I mention that we might be interested in metal or composite. He quoted an insane rough price for metal roofing based on the size of our house which was way out of our budget. So, I mention that we'll need to stay with composite asphalt shingles. (Ironically, Stevenson's website gives an average cost of $600 per SQ for metal roofing which might have been within our budget and was why I originally contacted the company). However, Jerry's quote was nearly 2x that average rate which was way out of our ball park. Maybe he should study the company's website! I mentioned that our neighbor had change their roof and gutters last year and what they paid. He indicated that it was very low and asked which company. I mention his competitor which is one of the largest roofing company in the area. He asked if I was getting a bid from them as well. I said "yes" and a whole bunch of others. He was not happy. He said he'll take measurements and send me his estimate. Wait I asked. What type of composite shingles will the estimate be based on? He said it will be based on Certainteed shingles. As a customer, I asked "don't I get to choose the type of composite shingles that we want the estimate to be based on?" He flippantly asked me "Well, what do you want?" I asked what shingles are your company "certified" to install (meaning their employees have been trained by the shingle manufacturer's to correctly install their product). He flippantly said all of them which I seriously doubt. I said there's Owen Corning, GAF, Certainteed, Pabco, Tamko, IkO, and others and your company is "certified" in all of these? He proceed to say that I was "difficult" and he wouldn't be interested in working with us. Wow! So if you're educated and well informed and possibly "female", forget about getting any serious estimates from Stevenson Roofing. Jerry, the estimator, is only interested in working with the "uninformed", intellectually numbed, and possibly 'male only' homeowners! read more

I hired this company to replace a roof on a storm damaged roof that was on the market for sale. They gave me start date of of a week later which was going to work great. However, when I called Jerry the night before they were supposed to start to see what time they were showing up, he told me they couldn't start roof the next day as planned. They were behind schedule and it would be another week or 2 before they could begin. This is in December I would like to mention. I told him, the weather may not be good in 2 weeks and that I couldn't wait. He got extremely rude and told me to find another roofer. They left me high and dry without a roofer! Had they been honest with start date to begin with, I would not have hired them, as this was a time sensitive job. I called the owner and left messages and emails, without 1 response. Before calling Jerry at Stevenson Roofing, I had called countless companies that told me unless I was going to fully re-roof my house they wouldn't come give me an estimate for a repair. (Repair was due to a trucking company hitting my roof line and gutters). A friend recommended that I call Jerry. He was so helpful and provided me the paperwork to fulfill the estimate requirements for the trucking company. Once I received my claim check, Jerry was back in a matter of weeks to complete the repairs. I appreciated the help and willingness to take on my small project. My husband & I booked an appointment with them on a Thursday to arrive at 8:30AM. They showed up on time but couldn't reach the issue since roof was icy. The gentleman said he'd come back once the ice is gone. We didn't hear back from them until Saturday; stating they are on their way to check out the roof. I asked them what happened the last few days; he said "we have been slammed". They did not apologize. Had my roof fixed by these guys. Was the cheapest bid. Bad idea. Roof still leaked. They told me I could fix it myself. Wouldn't honor guarantee. Said it was a different problem. even though it was leaking in exactly the same spot. Jerry called me and said he would drop off some chalking for it in the next couple of days. Months later still haven't seen them. Save your money. Pay a little more and get it done right. I have now spent more money but it is finally fixed. read more

Stevenson Roofing completed a total roof replacement as we converted our house's 20 year old roof from a cedar shake to a Presidential TL luxury shingle material. Their bid was very reasonable, and they completed the entire project for the bid amount. Due to the pitch and size of our roof the project was a difficult one to complete. The crew completed their work in a timely manner, and took no shortcuts in applying a first-class roof.
