Look no further- get a quote from Three Tree! We had 5 estimates. Three Tree came around the middle of the group price-wise, although not that much higher than the lowest. What was different? The quote had attention to every detail and included higher quality materials, better design and superior workmanship. Also the quality of the service was exceptional- communication with the team and among the team was flawless. Our roof was mainly asphalt with a PVC section and needed plywood to be added on top of the old ship lap. It also needed venting - which can be tricky- especially providing intakes on a 1940s house. All this was included in the quote. They had no problem adding 2 skylights with no upcharge-save the cost of the skylights themselves. The team is up to date and educated on the latest advances and details of techniques. I am so thankful to have found Three Tree. I have worked with contractors extensively on two old properties over 20 years, and Three Tree was probably the best. Prior to hiring them I talked with my former roofer - who now only does very high end work(John Michael Roofing). He has seen many roofs and said Three Tree does good quality work. Three Tree did a good job on my roof, but I'm writing this review specifically because of the "above and beyond" nature of their service. We are selling our home and our inspector found a cracked rafter in the roof that was 'probably' damaged when the new roof was put on my Three Tree a couple of years ago. While there's no way for them to know for sure if they did cause the damage, they were prompt and friendly about fixing it. Neil sent John out to fix the rafter less than 48 hours after I called. Perhaps I'm jaded but I expected to have to argue, beg and plead to get this problem fixed. Super happy to have one less thing to be stressed about in the process of selling our house! read more

My roof started having minor leaks late or mid 2020 and more in early 2021. I began reviewing Google, Yelp, Porch and Home Advisor for roofing companies. Three Tree Roofing and Tekline came up as the two highly rated reviewed companies. I contacted both and Three Tree Roofing responded first. I ended up canceling the estimate for Tekline due to schedule concerns with my work. Karl from Three Tree Roofing was my point of contact after the initial roofer came out to measure and provide an estimate. I wanted a metal roof to prevent future replacement, given longer warranty. I ended up signing for a Nu-Ray NRM 2000 40-year warranty metal roof with 4 tubular skylights and placed a 10% signed check for deposit during mid-April. April 30th comes around and I receive a call from Anthony at Three Tree Roofing leaving me with a voicemail with an estimated start date of June 3rd. Given extreme heat one week and rain other days, this date appeared delayed and the roofing started mid-July. Jesus, one of the Three Tree Roofing roofers shows up on day 1 of roofing, collects 2nd deposit of 40% upon project start. He starts pulling off the previous roofing material and informed me there are three layers and something about gravel and that I should be getting a phone call 'soon.' I had no idea what this meant. Later, I received a phone call, discussing additional layers found and there would be additional costs. No actual dollar numbers provided then. This additional tear off cost an additional $1,934.96. I later was informed during further roofing tear off that plywood was needed due to Kent City code requiring plywood as sub roofing material and current roof being torn off had shiplap. I was informed this would result in additional costs. I reviewed the contract I signed and do see the additional charges described on the contract. As a first time roof replacement homeowner, I understood plywood would cost $85 per sheet per the contract I signed. I did not know how much plywood was needed for me to come up with any sort of estimate of how much additional costs. How much plywood is needed for my roof? What was my roof measurement? I reviewed my original estimate and later emails and tried to walk back on where I went wrong and wanted to review if I had missed this potential for me to estimate additional cost somewhere. I could not find any measurements in the documents for me to guess this additional cost. This plywood ended up costing me an additional $4,590 in addition to the extra tear off cost of $1,934.96. The additional costs did not sit well with me. This was 22% over the cost of the contract I signed for. This was at that time, over $7,000 extra w/tax. My entire roof was expected to be $37k, the cost of a nice Lexus or 616 nice steak dinners, I reminded myself. I almost questioned myself as to whether I should have chosen another roofing company or looked for more estimates. Situation as it was, nothing I could walk back on. Project had already started. I ended up contacting Three Tree Roofing to cut out 2 tubular skylights to reduce cost, hoping that my impulse decision I would not regret later. I called, explained the concern I had about the cost; Neil at Three Tree Roofing sympathized, explained cost of materials have increased, offered to reduce cost of labor; this helped a bit, however, cost was still significantly more than budgeted. He offered more time to come up with the payment. Roofing just finished today, paid the remainder. Will need to put in placement for gutter downspout/pipes. I was under the assumption that was part of the project, however, was incorrectly assuming and will need to look at attaching/replacing the downspouts/gutter pipes. I would just need to climb a ladder and attach. Roof is beautiful, however, I am a flat roof owner so maybe I will find some time to climb and view when I get bored. :) Roofers were friendly, used a porta-potty Three Tree Roofing rented. Communication w/roofer appear adequate although the days they showed up (such as today) were without advanced warning ahead of showing up. Some communication of when they showed up would have been helpful in terms of scheduling my other contractors I had on site. I had 2 contractors and at times, 3 contractors from 3 different companies were on site. They all seemed fine with each other. Review is docking one star due to communication as the root cause of: - homeowner unable to estimate/guess cost of plywood or how far from original signed contract the cost could have increased; this gave me quite a bit of anxiety. No one likes to owe money or be caught unprepared - days of when roofers showed up; the roofers were fortunate that people were home the days they needed to do internal skylight work. Had I been the only person, it is very possible they would have shown up to an empty house Overall, I am so far, and hope to be happy with the roof. Over many years, we have dealt with a lot of roofers, contractors, and construction crews. Some were great and others not so much. We are very careful who we choose. We were looking for a roofing company to tear off the old, lay down plywood, and put on a new roof. I went with Three Tree Roofing for my roof this past January (2023) after receiving 4 other bids. They were pretty comparable in pricing to the majority as my roof required a full re-sheet of plywood due to mold and incorrect thickness of plywood to begin with. They communicated the timeline well, coordinated dumpsters, resources, etc quickly and were able to get the job done in 2 days. There were some small tweaks I had asked them to come out and fix and they quickly sent out someone to come look at it and fix on the spot (bird blockers weren't as secure as I had liked so they fixed). Jose and his team were amazing and went above and beyond to ensure all of my venting/etc was hooked up correctly and securely. I even got a small solar tube put in (if you get a new roof- get it, it helped our small laundry room light up!) My roof looks amazing and I have gotten some compliments already! Overall a great experience - pricing was competitive and the roof replacement completed in less than three days. The construction crew was polite, they brought their dumpster and port a potty. The roof itself looks really good, and the team helped me get photos to send back to insurance. The warranty was received in the mail about a month after I paid the final invoice which is also in line with what I was told. The only thing I would say is that their communication is not the best. They are not responsive over email at all but will pick up the phone. My project start date was delayed and they didn't notify me until the date was past and I called to ask. With an expensive job like this, where it is hard to see the quality of work, the customer service experience is important, and Three Tree Roofing is clearly experienced at this. They were always available to answer questions, were transparent about pricing, were economical about the fascia and panels that needed to be replaced, and got the job done quickly (really important, given that we were starting to get into the rainy season), and cleaned up well after themselves. There have been a couple of really hard rains since my new roof was installed, and the peace of mind (vs the old and patched up torchdown roof) has been very calming. Three Tree was our fourth bid. Karl came out and did a very thorough inspection and explained every part of their service model and what to expect when doing business with them. They were on the higher end of the bids we received but I am always willing to pay for quality service. After waiting 7-weeks for the job to begin, they just happened to get started right before Memorial Day weekend. I do appreciate that the crew worked 8-hour days and took breaks but I did not realize that they did not work on weekends so it would have been nice to be made aware of the overall timeline of the job. Communication is pretty important when your living space is being majorly disrupted (ie: a dumpster and a Honey Bucket in your driveway) and you are trying to work from home. Edwin and the rest of the crew were kind and courteous. However, to be completely honest there were quite a few things that I was not particularly pleased with. Granted this is my first experience with this type of home repair but with a 5 star rating I guess I had high expectations... 1. I noticed that one of the guys on the crew's car parked in our driveway was leaving oil stains so I made them aware and they parked elsewhere and offered to clean up the mess. 2. A few of my plants got demolished during the tear off of the old roof :( 3. There was a miscommunication between the city of Kent inspector and the roofing crew... which resulted in the roofing crew completely tearing off over 100 square feet of newly installed roofing! 4. There was a portion of the fascia that was repaired but did not visually look like the rest so they had came back out again to complete it for no additional cost but it was weeks later. 5. After the new roof was put on there were large rusty nails left all over the the yard in which my fiance' unfortunately stepped on 1 and I stepped on 3 - OUCH (thank goodness I had a tetanus shot a year ago!). I sure hope that was the last of them! Overall, the roof looks absolutely fabulous and we are happy with the outcome! The service in regards to communication was lacking. read more

I could never imagine loving a roof company as much as I love these guys. I mean, how often do you get to hire a roofing company? And how often do they leave such an impression? Originally, we met Jack for an install quote. I told him how I only had a little bit of time before my next meeting, but I hoped he could give me a quote without giving me the sleazy 4-hour sales pitch that Guardian Roofing gave us (avoid like the plague). My husband joked we should hire Three Tree just for being so respectful of our time, unlike Guardian and Valentine Roofing. Jack went about his business and inspected our roof, and got us a quick quote. His quote came in a bit lower than Valentine but was pretty close. Three Tree's crew is also more skilled than most we found. For example, Valentine wanted us to hire a mason to flash the roof shingles around the chimney, and didn't have anyone on their team that was trained in carpentry. Ultimately, the good reviews online were what made us sure we wanted to go with them, but we had no idea how great they'd actually end up being (prepare for a long list of compliments below). The crew that came out to work on our home was run by Godo. They did SO MUCH work, and were so efficient. For example, on previous quotes, other roofers gawked at the idea of re-adjusting our abnormally low fascia board, but Godo said "No problem" and his whole team removed and re-installed it quickly. We also had some split rafters in our attic, which they also easily tackled. Godo even noticed some rotted siding, and offered to replace that too. When we get our final bill, the carpentry work was billed at a super reasonable rate. I can't believe how much they've helped us. I even had second thoughts about my ideas for skylight placement, and Godo was extremely patient as he helped me figure out the most logical location for them. The office team was also exceptional. Someone always responded when I answered the phone (I was in somewhat regular communication with Anthony and Matt, and occasionally Neil), and they were super accommodating/transparent about how estimates were looking. The roof we selected actually was out of stock by the time our install date came around, so the owner swapped us for an upgraded roof option for the same price. I never expected that--we were stressed about having to settle for a cheaper quality roof due to the lack of inventory, so that was REALLY cool of them to do. Anyway, we really can't recommend Three Tree Roofing enough. We bought this house that was supposed to have a "lifetime metal shingle roof" (see attached photo of the monstrosity), which was really a scam that the previous owner fell for... it was very improperly installed, and much of the plywood underneath was rotted. We were so stressed when we first moved in and found a leak in the new drywall ceiling... we called many companies, and read reviews like crazy. What I loved most about Three Tree was how easy that first interaction was, how communicative they were leading up to the process, and how easy it was to trust Godo and his team when they arrived. Godo and his team went so far above and beyond for us, and that meant so much since this is our first home and this was a super unexpected expense upon move-in. The gutter installers were also quick and listened to how we wanted gutters to run away from our front door. You might wait a while for your roof, but know that they're doing their best with the circumstances they're in. COVID supply delays are really unpredictable, so be patient. We ended up getting our roof something like 10 weeks after our quote, and the original rough estimate was 8 weeks, but none of that mattered because we just wanted a roof before winter. They also set the expectation early on that weather can delay it more. To sum it up, Three Tree Roofing is the most genuinely kind and honest roofing contractor you'll find. *Note: We didn't have gutter guards installed by them, but you'll see a partial install underway as we started installing Costco ones on the garage roof. read more

My neighbor had their roof recently replaced by Three Tree. Looking at their roof it looks pretty good. My review is cleanliness. I live next door and when they were removing the old shingles, they were dropping them down between our homes. Im sitting in my office which is directly next to my neighbor. I could hear some items hitting the siding of my home. I took a look and noticed several black streaks on my siding. There were a couple black streaks on my neighbors home too. After they finished for that 1st day, they picked up all the old shingles, cleaned the streaks off my neighbors home, but did not clean mine. I did not contact them, I figure I would clean it myself later or at least let me know what they had done. Several days later after completion, they did not clean off the streaks on my home. They were careless in protecting my home from falling debris or at least let me know what happened. Im sure the next thing is "Why didn't I contact them?" My response is this, "Why should I?" I know one worker saw me taking photos of scene. Only advice I can give is Watch your home if Three Tree is doing a roof next to you. We just had our roof replaced. The crew was very efficient, professional and careful. They even moved away my bbq i didn't think to move out of the way, so that the debries wouldn't fall on it. They left the job site clean after each day. My only suggestion is for their project management team to be more organized and involved. Things were just showing up at our door without us being informed ahead of time. In pandemic it's no big deal because we are home every day, but normally i think timely heads up is important. Also we didnt realize the new building code requires some smart intake vents to be installed in addition to the mountain ridge, i thought some of you out there would like this info. Those vents make horizontal visible lines we were not aware of and in our case it looks odd because our roof slant faces the street and it has interruptions. read more

They worked with us to pick the colors we wanted, coming by several times extra to give us extra time. Their communication was good leading up to the job and the on site crew was quiet and respectful. They coordinated with our HVAC provider to demolish the chimney and ensure the furnace was hooked up correctly afterwards. When the crew accidentally got some debris down the microwave vent, they offered to remove it (I decided to do it) but asked multiple times if the microwave was still working and offered to replace it, if not. The gutter installers didn't clean up all debris but Three Tree offered to send someone out to take care of it. Overall, I would recommend them for your roofing and gutter needs. read more

My roof replacement from cedar shake to composition (CertainTeed Pres TL) is complete and I am very please with the results. Paul M, my sales/acct manager provided a great project bid. Derek the business project coordinator was great on updates. Jose and his crew was top notch in the work that they performed. Very efficient, despite the spotty rain showers. They ensured everything was covered at the end of the each day to avoid any leaks, etc. Total time was about 5 days. Cleanup was good and no damages to the house itself. I paid for a top of the line metal roof, it was a complete tear off of a very simple roof. I was not real impressed with their quality and attention to detail. I will say they are all good people. The salesman was great and the roofers were hard workers. Unfortunately I feel they did the job as quickly as possible at the expense of doing things we agreed upon, paying attention to details, and doing things properly (see pics). It is not a complete disaster, but I wouldn't say it was well done either. I had agreements on some small specific details with the salesman and with the actual roofers, yet during the install these details were not done. I caught the roofers attempting an unbelievable shortcut, I talked to the owner (he agreed) and had it corrected during install. They tried to charge me extra for things I already had paid for in the original agreement, I was able to get this resolved. After the install I sent an email of complaints complete with pictures to the owner and never even got a response. I would not recommend them. See pics of some of their work. Update 2-22-22: Three Tree Roofing has read this review and contacted me. I had a long conversation with CJ and he agrees this roof was done poorly, no argument. He has offered to fix these problems, even going so far as to replace the whole roof if I wish. This professional company gave us a competitive price. Half of our roof is flat and Three Tree Roofing accommodate our needs. They also added a new up to code roof vent. It only took two days and 30 minutes to complete. Material was delivered, including a portable potty and dumpster. Crew was informative, kind and hard workers. Our yard was clean each day before they left the property. After the old roof was removed the dumpster left. The second day everything was completed less a metal trim on back order.
