This is what it is supposed to look like

Started 4 years ago and we are still dealing with a leaking roof. Took 2 years for them to come out and repair the ceiling in the house from the first time. Now they are saying it's my fault from a leaking chimney. The tech who was out to wrap the chimney said that Valentine did not put the right flashing on the chimney. His boss texted me (always by text never face to face or a phone call) and said that the pictures show my chimney is now leaking because it is old and has cracks. No one said anything me when they replaced the roof. Now I have a 120 yr old hose that is leaking and they are saying it's my fault.

UPDATE (06.09.26) Despite promising they would match our existing cedar fascia, independent carpenters confirmed Valentine used a cheaper pine, which, in addition to not matching original cedar fascia, won't last in PNW. UPDATE (05.27.26) Updating our review as we are now seeing that Valentine's shoddy work includes driving nails back out through our ceiling's drywall. This has been an absolute nightmare of grift and incompetence. Misleading quotes, unprofessional finishings, clearly scaling with cheap labor since being acquired by a private equity firm, while hiding behind a previously established brand and a warranty program. UPDATE (04.28.26) +1 Star. Valentine promptly sent a team to address the fascia that was misaligned as well as restore the 45-degree miter joints where those boards met at corners. They also applied sealant along some of the flashing edges. ORIGINAL Beware: Private Equity Owned Brand Stretched Thin I relate the following with all due respect, and hold no animosity toward any individual, but I want to hold Valentine as a company to the high standard it advertises, as we did not get the quality of workmanship for which we paid. What we witnessed/recorded from the time the work was scheduled through its completion was a company scaling beyond its means through deceptive bidding and sloppy labor. This is an all-too-common story as small, locally-owned companies are acquired by larger holdings (e.g., conglomerates, private equity firms) and then squeezed to scale and increase margins. This appears to have happened with Valentine's Acquisition by Infinity Home Services in 2022. Valentine won the bid over other prospects through a lowballed quote. We asked very clearly for a "worst case scenario" estimate, including if the roof essentially had to be completely rebuilt, but we ended up more than $9K over the base estimate, which was $3K over the "worst case scenario." During the initial phase of work, we couldn't reach the foreman (who more than once stated that he was out of cell service on an island or on other job sites) nor could we get a response from his backup. This improved in the second week of the work after we raised concern. He was responsive thereafter, albeit often dismissive of our concerns. This included our concern over downspout disconnection leading to water pouring into the eaves over two days, resulting in visible water damage. This was initially dismissed as a non-issue until I sent video (screen-capture from that attached) illustrating it clearly was a problem, after which the foreman sent someone to reroute the water pouring into our roof and eaves. This lack of attention to detail upfront showed a lack of preparation or care. (We raised concerns about the unique build our roof/eaves and gutter system before the work and Valentine insisted it had decades of proven experience with these kinds of homes in the PNW.) So, our position after the work "finished" about a month ago, was that we wanted Valentine to reassess its work, ensure that water damage, sloppy or rough finishings (even just aesthetically, aside from painting), and incomplete fixes were corrected; overall, that the work was brought up to the high standard IHS has advertised to build its acquired brand. Eventually they agreed to send a team to evaluate. After that, they agreed to some fixes. While I greatly appreciate the workers who came out to address a few of the issues, we are left with rough, DIY-looking flashings and facia replacements that were not cut and caulked to match the clean miter joints they replaced--to name a few of the issues that were exacerbated by attempts to fix--not to mention those issues that went unaddressed. The issue here is clearly a lack of project management and oversight, which I would expect to be handled for a $38K composite/pvc roof job (i.e., I should not have had to remind the workers that Valentine already agreed to miter joints, etc.). Buyer beware: they're private-equity-owned and doing sloppy work behind a brand established under previous ownership.

After: March 2026

Valentine roofing was enthusiastic about doing my small project to replace the shingles on my garden shed. The estimator, office representative and onsite crew were all friendly and responsive. Price was very reasonable, and results are beautiful. I could not find any debris around when they were done. Before and after photos attached.

Valentine Roofing is pretty good. CONS: * Too many people to communicate with. From initial phone call to sales rep to project manager to foreman and a couple others in between.... It's A lot of people, which tells me they have too many on the payroll. * They were the lowest bid, HOWEVER, by the end of the job (Full roof replacement) We ended up paying a bit more........Bid was $16,500 +tax but final was $23,000. * We went into the attic and found quite a bit of debris from the tear off. Shingles, etc. We've hired some insulation guys to clean it up when they come by next week to fix our insulation. PROS: * Great communication. You can call and ask questions but they preemptively call AND text you to update with any information. * They clean up the job site daily and use their own on-site toilet. * They work HARD & LONG to get the job done. It was dark out and they were still working well past 8:00 pm to finish up. * ALL employees are great, kind, professional. After the job was done, they sent us a very sweet gift. Pic attached. Thank you Valentine!

It leaked all down the street as they finally drove it away after I demanded they remove it.

They had their employees use a make shift outhouse fashioned in the back of their work trailer. It leaked all over my driveway down my front entry. They left it there for 2 weeks never cleaning it, letting the hot summer heat cook away. When I finally figured out where the putrid smell was coming from I lost it. They left the site with nails and staples litter throughout my property. They ignored my complaints. The dumped raw sewage on my property, that should say enough. See pics

They caused a big leak in my bedroom during my roof replacement, completely denied it, and refused to take ownership of their mistakes. They even had the audacity to call it an "old yellow stain." I had to hire a lawyer and fight back with evidence. Save yourself and your family the headache and avoid them at all costs. They sent only two guys to start the work and they ripped off all my shingles one day before a major storm. Then they left my roof with no shingles during rain and storm conditions for two days. That caused a big leak in my bedroom and significant damage to my family. When I called them, they came out and spent 4+ hours on my roof, then told me: "We don't know what it is, but there is no leak." Thankfully, I had a moisture meter, before/after pictures, and enough evidence to prove what happened. Even then, they still tried to deny it and said, "Based on our industry experience, such yellowing is consistent with an older leak. It is possible the stain pre-dated our work." On top of the leak, they didn't secure the shingles on my roof during the storm. A bunch of shingle packages (roughly 40+ pounds each) fell from the roof onto my deck and shed. That could have seriously injured or even killed someone if that hit them! it anyways caused significant damage to my shed and deck! I wish that was the end of the story, but it wasn't. They also somehow managed to mess up the electrical wiring in my attic. And again, they denied responsibility, even though they agreed to pay for the repairs. They are extremely shady, deny their mistakes, and provide very unsafe work. save your money and your family from all their headaches and damages!

I would get yelled at for trying to walk in through my garage. Finally last day that they are here, today, I was told they would be gone by noon. I got here at 1 they were still there so I left and came back they were still there at 5pm. Mind you the entire time they were here. They hadn't been working. Two of the days they were here they only worked until noon, and then left. When the job could have easily been done that day. When I parked in front of their dumpster so I could go inside my home. They yelled at me again for trying to get into my own home, were laughing at me. And one of the workers called me fat. I am 9 months pregnant and my due date is tomorrow. I tried my best to be graceful during this whole thing. But these workers were extremely rude. Disrespectful and not only had they broke our ring camera but pictures and signs we had up in our home flew off the wall and broke because how hard they were going. Mind you we have had work done on our home roof before and never experienced anything like this. Very disappointing.

My interests run from…read moreengine repair to carpentry and while I am not an expert at everything I do, I generally do an excellent job. I recently had knee surgery and cannot climb ladders until my knee recovers. As life sometimes goes (luck/karma/divine intervention...), my home developed a water leak up towards the second story where the chimney and overhang meet. The roof has a 10/12 pitch and the last roofer did not put in the proper flashing to keep the water properly diverted (I knew I should have roofed it myself, lol). The previous storm brought lots of water into the area and the water leak developed into a major leak that entered my home between the sub-flooring and hardwood. The floor damage was sudden and quite extensive. I urgently needed immediate repairs to my roof and siding to stop the leak. I was unsure if I could get a solid professional to come to my aid and I needed someone I could trust and one that wouldn't take advantage of my dilemma. I also needed someone that would complete the type of work I demand-a tall order to say the least. That is where FB friends and Sound Siding enter into the picture. The first recommendation we received did not pan out. To be honest, it was weird. My original focus was on hiring a handyman as they are willing to do small jobs. I do not want to bash the individual but he seemed to typify what my worst fears are about contractors-flaky at best. Next, I remembered a previous acquaintance that owned a siding company that does residential and commercial work. I had a very high opinion of his honesty and work ethic. My only question was his availability and was the job too small. I gave the owner a call and explained my dilemma. He offered to meet me the next day. So far so good. Upon his arrival, we reviewed the situation and he offered to do the job-much to my relief. He had two individuals show up and start that very day. He was able to add another for the next two days and the job was rapidly completed. Their work was/is top-notch and I am in full agreement with what they needed to do to complete the job properly. Some carpentry dry-rot and roofing repairs, in addition to siding, needed to be completed. All done to my satisfaction, in record time and at a reasonable price. I could not have asked for better. His crews were very courteous and professional. They also did an excellent job of cleaning up the debris before they left. I would definitely hire them again.

I have such peace of mind knowing that as we find more things wrong with our house, Tony and his crew will do it right the first time and only charge for what is done. I was really surprised that there were any negative reviews because that wasn't our experience at all. Maybe it was a different crew back then.

There were however, problems with returning my exterior fixtures back to the locations that they were before the project began (flag mount hose mounts, solar lights, circuit breaker box ground wire covers) I think my feedback for them for their future work, would be to take video or pictures pre and post and compare to make sure everything is cleaned up and returned as expected (so The customer doesn't have to bring it up to them).

They stepped on and broke my bushes which are permanently damaged. They broke my kitchen garden window and said it "it looked like it was broken on the inside" inferring that I had broken it. They had garbage thrown all over my yard the entire time and my front covered porch looked like a homeless camp with food left there and thrown on the door leaving grease stains . They also left a microwave there for months to heat their food. Not an experience I would want to relive. Ugh.

The reviews here are all over the map, though, so that caused some concern. The job started mid May, but wasn't finished until mid June. I have a small house; the supervisor assured me that the whole job would be done in 2 weeks, max - gutters and all. But one of the workers was sick for several days so only one person was working on the house most of the time. Toward the end of the project, the electricity on one side of the house was out when I came home. That wasn't good. Flipping the breakers didn't fix it - the workman did correct the error the next day. I had the gutters replaced by the same company. It turns out those jobs are contracted out. It was almost two weeks after the siding was completed before I was even contacted by this contractor (I had made 3 calls to 2FL reps). In the meantime, it rained. No gutters meant mud splashed on the new siding. Small things weren't finished, like replacing the house numbers (I left them out and we were clear that they needed to go up) or the front porch sill guard. I'll need to do those things myself, I guess. There was a little debris left, but nothing major. Mainly, the folks I dealt with were professional. I did have questions about the bill, but that was resolved quickly. I would recommend this company. Four stars because the work dragged out longer than I had been told to expect.

We just wanted to protect ourselves as a customer, because the job wasn't done. The person said okay. No one called us, no updates, nothing. And then we got letter from Dawn and Rod. The letter is so inappropriate, especially when job isn't done. Also it is threatening... Just to know first someone pays you 90% of the project, do you really think that 10% is something. This isn't about money, it is our protection as a customer to be sure that you will finish your job. Also if you have called us and explained everything we would pay. Also when you have an appointment you should double check if you have everything for the project... If you're missing something, then you should let know the customer before installers were on the way and let us know when we will have a missing part! It is all about communication and kindness! Also just to add in the letter you wrote one balance and in the contract we have another. So I think that we can take further action for unfinished job and 2 different amounts.
