I initially hired Scott just to do a small project of putting a roof on my shed. I had not planned to put a roof on my house for another five years, but I was so impressed with his work and his professionalism, that I decided to have the whole house done as well. I have a classic old, brick Tudor house with a steep roof, and as you can see in the photo he did an excellent job! He was true to his word on the schedule and price. He paid attention to details, even painting some roof vents to match the color of the shingles and when he was finished, he cleaned up so well that you couldn't even tell he'd been here. Today, about eight months later, I discovered some rain water leaking down through the ventilation fan over my kitchen stove. I called Scott and he was here within the hour. Turns out, it was the roof vent had a rivet joint that failed, which was nothing to do with the new roof that he installed. He still fixed the leak for me at no charge. Hiring contractors is always a gamble and I've run across some bad ones, but Scott is definitely one of the good guys. In addition to his professionalism, he's a friendly, calm, and pleasant guy. I needed a single shingle reattached on a home with a steep roof. Some contractors wouldn't take it on because the roof was too steep or wa wanted to charge a hefty price because they said it was difficult. Or they tried to pad on to the repair saying I need this or that done or a whole new roof. They drew their conclusions without even coming out and climbing onto the roof. They based it off of two images I attached to my estimate request. And the prices were all over the board. Well I'm glad I found renue instead. They were prompt in getting back to me, providing an estimate, kept me posted on when they would be out and completed the job promptly. I was quoted me a very reasonable fair price. They were also very understanding on me being cautious on being concerned about them possibly jacking up the cost when they got up on the roof and found the repair would be worse than expected and I told them if that was the case to not start and call me first for approval. They told me they were pretty confident that the repair would only cost what they understood how I felt. When they were done they emailed me the invoice with exactly what they quoted me and said the repair was done and that they ended up replacing three shingles and repaired a tab on a fourth shingle. I'm thinking wow! I asked to reattach only one shingle. If anything I was worried that they might find something else wrong and say it's going to cost x amount more. But instead they found something else wrong and fixed it at no extra charge! Who does that? Renue that's who! Apparently other reviewers have had the same generosity from Renue. It normally takes me months to review someone but I was so impressed by Renue Roofing! Scott came this morning to give me an estimate for a roof repair and cleaning. I had a very good experience with this company. I discovered that our roof was leaking into our attic. I called several companies. Some do not fix leaks. Some do not do work in north Seattle. Some would come do an estimate and then schedule a repair a month or so later. ReNue LLC is the only company that came out in a timely manner - within 3 days - and came out ready to fix the leak (not just for an estimate). So the leak is fixed and the charge was minimal. He also looked over our roof and informed us that even though it is 20 years old, it is still in excellent condition. Scott totally saved us. During high winds on a Sunday afternoon, a 10 foot branch fell off one of our Douglas firs and punched a 12 inch hole through our roof, and right through the ceiling of our master bedroom. Hoping to get someone ASAP, we started calling every roof repair company with decent reviews in the area. After leaving messages with about 6 other companies, Scott at Renue Roofing was the first actual human who answered the phone. I figured the best we could hope for was scheduling a service later in the week, but after describing our situation, Scott said he would be able to come out within the hour(!). He went up on our roof, while it was still pretty darn windy, and had everything he needed to extract the branch and patch up the roof (repairing the ceiling, of course, would have to wait until later). In the end, Scott fixed our problem within 3 hours of the branch piercing our roof. In that situation, anyone could have totally gouged us on the price (and I might have let them), but Scott's charge for the service was beyond reasonable. So reasonable, in fact, that we had to give him a lot more considering the short notice and the unsafe conditions he did it all in. As for the other 6 companies I called and left messages with, the only other one who called me back, who shall remain nameless, waited 44 hours to do so. Hmmm, think I'll be going with Renue in the future. read more

Working with Scott was an easy and straightforward process. He does a great job following COVID guidelines and always wore a mask and took off his shoes when coming inside the house. He was the second roofer I had come out to take a look at my roof. The first guy thought I needed a new roof in 5 years, Scott said more like 15 years with regular upkeep. What a difference! He gave an honest assessment of my attic ventilation and provided information so I could make informed decisions, even if that meant not hiring him for the job. Although he was pretty booked up, like most contractors these days, Scott was timely in scheduling a day to come back out to install intake vents, a bathroom vent, and mesh to keep out pests. They even redid the seal around my existing vent boots for free. I'll be hiring Renue for all my future roofing needs. read more

I Highly recommend Renue if you have an older roof that needs some work. Our old roof began losing shingles last year during wind storms, and Scott came by quickly on our request to make spot repairs that bought us some time. When the weather improved Scott accommodated our tight schedule to complete a roof-over installation of architectural shingles on time. Scott was clean, courteous and respectful of our space. He explained all of the steps he took to secure our new shingles to be resilient to wind driven rain. Scott also gave reports along the way of the condition of the old roof, flashing, vents, etcetera so we could be sure there was no residual damage from prior storms. Six months after completion, a new wind storm knocked loose a small piece of scrap shingle that had been stuck in the gutter; Scott came by shortly after to inspect our roof (no damage!) and confirm the piece was just scrap.
