In escrow, the buying realtor wanted to use these guys, because of being free. The inspector jabbed at the house trim very hard with a long metal pole, damaging it in one spot (you could hear the banging from inside). Two pieces had minor wood rot, I'm great at repairs and home maintenance, and replaced them in a day. The inspector reportedly found 'two' dead wings, no photographic or physical evidence was provided, acted like it wasn't a big deal in our house of 40 years, and when the report came in the following week from their office, they ignored my trim fix saying it had to be done by a professional, and stated the house had a termite 'infestation.' They offer trim replacement repairs and wanted $400 to spray. I found someone else with solid reviews within a day and instantly had my 'clean' report for escrow. Suggest simply paying for a regular non-free outfit. I don't recommend Bugmasters! read more

They handled my last two treatments. Excellant job on woodwork. Very careful on the concrete tile roof. When I recently saw what I thought might be termite droppings, the came out right away showed me that it was something else (clearly). Told me to never hesitate when I think I've seen something. Bugmasters is the best! Best prices and they do the job right. I noticed some termite droppings and obtained three quotes. Bugmasters was the best price, most comprehensive scope of work, and I liked their inspector (David) the best. We were able to spot treat the problem areas and avoid tenting the house. The team of workers were the nicest guys ever! They completed the job in one day. They do quality work plus they walk you through everything and explain it to you. The Bugmasters difference is that they don't just spot treat and walk away. No, they spot treat it and repair the damaged wood too. Plus they primer the new wood and can match the paint as well. The other companies just spot treat and leave the wood repair up to you. In my situation it was a baseboard and portions of our wood eaves. The other companies were just going to spot treat and let me tear out and replace my baseboard, ha! The baseboard was sunken in so needed to be replaced. I can't do that and don't need to call another service worker to do that. Bugmasters replaced my baseboard and two small portions of eaves and they're a perfect, seamless match. I'm an inquisitive person so I had all sorts of questions along the way, but everyone was great at walking me through the work to be done, damage repairs, etc. I even spoke with the owner on the phone when I was reviewing all three quotes. The company quoted for fumigation noted several infestations throughout attic, however there were no photos in the report as proof. I've worked with other termite company that shows photos and this was chosen by someone else. It's hard to pay for something without any proof regardless of its company reputation. Unprofessional When I called in the company and asked if the inspector ever took any photos. The front desk girl was extremely rude and not helpful. She sounds like she doesn't enjoy her job and probably rolled her eyes when she was on the phone with me. Customer service needs to step up. read more

I consulted with this business after my real estate agent referred me to them. It is very sad that a company like this can not give discounts to returning customers and to those with multiple properties that need treatment. I thought a discount was not much to ask for if I was doing treatment for 2 properties. Apparently it was and the owner Matthew was not helpful at all in his customer service. I would not recommend this company to Anyone seeking termite treatment. They are not Customer service friendly at all in fact very bad customer service when trying to do business. I had to come back and update this review because of what we discovered after a different company fumigated for me and we started to repair the damage. Turns out there was a massive structural infestation of subterranean termites that was at least 10 years old. Luckily the fumigation took care of them and left tens of thousands of dead termites in the walls. Drywood termites had also been actively infesting the entire structure for what was estimated as 15-20 years without any mitigation. Fumigation was completely and utterly necessary with no question. The fact that Edgar completely missed any evidence of subterranean termites is not only concerning, but downright dangerous. And his assessment that the drywood termites were localized and spot treatable was way off the mark. I want to believe it was an honest mistake but my other termite company says you'd have to be inspecting "with your eyes closed" to miss this. This only leads me to believe that he fudged the details for that real estate agent so that it wouldn't hamper the sale-- which it definitely would have. I estimate this has lost me over $5,000 that I could have negotiated in the sale, all because of Edgars report. Unbelievable read more

Bugmasters offered excellent service. The inspector came in and have a thorough inspection of our home and showed me notes and photos he took. He walked me through every area of concern and provided a best and worst case scenario of the work. Luckily, localized (less expensive) treatment was recommended and in the explenation they really put me at ease that my problem would be remedied AND I wasn't being convinced into work I didn't need. highly recommend Bugmasters to anyone in need of inspections or treatment. read more

Bugmaster, tented our Rental house in Santa ana with the recommendation of our realtor. Less than 4 weeks later our tenant says the house is infested with bugs that they believe are termites. I proceed to call Viri at Bugmaster, expecting someone from the company to inspect and treat under warranty. No says Viri, send us pictures of the bugs by email only. When we do send the pictures, she claims they don't look like termites, they look like ants & they don't cover ants or give any options. At this point our realtor goes to the house and says he believes that they are termites. 12 days later we are searching for a pest control that will help us take care of the issue. I feel very bad for our tenants who are stuck in the middle & are questioning why they moved into this bug infested home! read more

Customer beware! If you need any type of wood repair on your home, DO NOT use Bugmasters. I had several wood repairman from bugmasters come to my home with little to no carpentry skills. I had to call Bugmasters on 3 different occasions, because the work that was done would fall apart within months. Every time they sent a new repairman, he would criticize the work of the last. But the repair always ended with the same sad result. Not once have I heard from a customer service rep or manager. It's ridiculous that a company would have to redo a job three times and still not get it right. Save yourself the hassle. A company that operates like this should not be in business. read more

Jose came out and did a thorough inspection of my home. He walked me through all his findings and I learned a lot about wood and termites. I was so satisfied with the his inspection that I called Bugmasters to come out to inspect my second property. I made sure it was Jose again because I really appreciated his knowledge and experience. They provide you with a very DETAILED report explaining the findings and recommended action and price break down for each item. After a couple of other bids, I went with Bugmasters to fix the termite damage and treat the subterranean termites at my second property. They had the best quote. The office staff followed up with me up until the day before the work and answered all my questions. The Bugmasters team went in and got the job done in 1 day. They made all the repairs and then some!!! The exceeded my expectations. They cleaned up and removed all the debris from the job site. I would definitely recommend Bugmasters to family and friends. I do not recommend this company. They recently tented my home and replaced damaged wood on the roof. During the process they broke several pots, killed our grass and the surrounding plants. They moved our satellite dish out of alignment which caused us to have to pay a fee to have it realigned. These guys are not cheap either. Pick a different fumigation company read more

Wanted to give this review for Bugmasters' conditional warranty. During escrow, the seller of the house we purchased hired Bugmasters to spray treat for termites. Several months later, I noticed some droppings and called them under their conditional warranty. Edgar came out and identified the problem as cricket droppings (there were a bunch of crickets in the backyard) and told me how to clear the crickets out. Edgar then proceeded to do a thorough inspection of our house, taking a lot of time and care to make sure there were no other signs of termites. I really appreciated Edgar's attention to detail and Bugmasters' quick response under their conditional warranty. Five stars. read more

Bugmasters came to the rescue. We were about to close an escrow and the previous termite company completely messed up the work, resulting in us needing to delay the closing. Bugmasters redid the report, finished all of the work, and did a fine job on the carpentry. This included the fixing of several 1936-era wood windows. Their care in making sure no roof tiles were damaged was stellar and their reframing of subterranean termite damage in the garage went beyond expectations (and I had a client who has done carpentry and finishing work). My husband and I discovered some bee sounds in our room. We walked outside and found thousands of bees on the side of our home. called bugmasters and a tech came and saw everything. He sprayed down the bees and told us that the bees will slowly disappear. I picked my daughter up from school today and saw that there were no bees at all and no more strange sounds in our room. Jason who came out to inspect my house told me again they do NOT subcontract out so I decided to go with them just in case i had any problems, holding them liable would be easier instead of going through another party. We had our house tented before we moved in; the treatment carried a two year warranty. I attempted to contact them weeks before that two years to have them come out and inspect. They didn't return my call. I had another company inspect just weeks after the two years and they said termites were slowed down but never stopped. Evidence of termites more than a few weeks old. The tenting was virtually ineffective. I called to try to get some money back and was told by management the warranty period expired. Never again will I use this company and never again will I tent. read more
