The staff was very unfriendly and cold. All of the seafood was imitation, but their prices are like they are serving real seafood. The crawfish and mussels are frozen and rubbery and they take the crawfish legs and incorporate them in a weird gummy crusted ball with batter and represent it as a crawfish cheese ball. They had rubbery circular octopus supposedly fried and it was horrible. Someone came to the register to order a single dish and asked that it be made fresh and not to come from the buffet and they charged them and I watched them get a Styrofoam container and go straight to the buffet. They have the standard Chinese buffet starter pack, and there wasn't anything spectacular about this place. The service was pretty nice though. They kept our water filled even during rush hour, so that was nice. I do like the Mongolian grill. You pick what you want from. The selection and the chef tosses it up for you and then calls you back when it's done. He seems like a cool dude. That's probably the best part of this place! Don't forget to check it out. This is our go to Chinese buffet when we want good ole buffet Chinese food. Their chicken dishes are my favorite. I love their jalapeño chicken the best. They also have a sushi station and a Mongolian grill station. Tammy O. enjoyed the sushi so I'll have to try it next time. I tend to stay with the various chicken dishes and the lo mein and the egg rolls. I've never left hungry or had a bad experience here. A lot of the food here looked stale... a problem I have with nearly every single buffet place I've been to. The food that wasn't stale that I ate was really good though... such as the shrimp, thai chicken, vegetarian stuff, the sushi, the pasta stuff they had, and it was decently priced at about 11 dollars a person (not including the drink, which I usually don't get anyways). It looks so fancy inside, with a gigantic chandelier hanging over the area where the food is stored at, and clean all around with hospitable staff. I went with my daughters for dinner on Friday, August 26, 2011. I had a loooooong HAIR in my fried rice. I called the waitress over, who said she would get the manager, who never came over. Went up to pay the bill and there was the manager, who told me he refused to do anything because I didn't have the HAIR TO SHOW HIM. (I hadn't asked for anything off the cost of the food!) The server had taken the plate away. He basically called me a liar, threw a fit, and didn't care that there was HAIR in the fried rice! At one point, two college age guys walked by them going, "okay, no loitering at the buffet." I wanted to turn around and go, I so agree. Alright, alright, what about the food? Well, it is decent. Nothing stood out too much. The sesame chicken, shrimp cocktail, fried chicken wings and sweet and sour chicken were fairly good, as were the fried fish fillets. The spinach casserole was too. I know, not very Asian. Most offbeat was the pan labeled as "crawfish" which was actually seasoned potatoes but they were tasty. They also have cheese enchiladas, which were not bad, and garlic bread, which was really good, but not for my waistline. I guess they could call this place Asian stuff and more. We were in the neighborhood and had a strange hankering for Americanized Chinese buffets. I'll start it by saying we should've gone to Buffet Palace. There was a pretty decent variety of food - all the standards you'd expect and a few you wouldn't - and there was a Mongolian grill (though I didn't see it used). Most of it was reasonably fresh, but a few things were chewy/soggy for being out too long. You could taste the sugar in most of the dishes, including a few that shouldn't be sweet, but they managed to make it taste decent despite that. I will say the clientelle turned me off more than anything; the boy and I were the only ones over the age of 12 that weren't noticeably obese except for one other woman. Hell, some of the under-12 crowd were pretty large. And you know what I'm saying, but there wasn't a single Asian person there who didn't work there. Yeah, I know, it sounds racist, but would you go to a Mexican restaurant that had no Mexican people eating in it? Ya know, it's a good way to judge ethnic cuisine, even if you think it's distasteful, you overly politically correct reader you. I'm a sushi lover, and when I read that they included sushi as a part of their specialty within the buffet, I immediately went over to the sushi section and devoured as much as I could. It tasted alright, I'll give them that, below average granted it is a buffet. Now, I went home and before I went to bed I felt completely fine, everything digested. 3 hours later (7 hours after I finished my meal) I felt sick and ended up vomitting all of the sushi I did not digest, and to this point I am still vomiting / nauseous. I know they placed a sign that there are dangers to consuming raw meat, but that gives them no right to give you horrendous meat that forces you to vomit, and in my belief, give food poisoning. Now, the cons. First, the Mongolian grill station is tiny and hardly has anything to season your food with. No competition for Genghis Grill or even Mongolian Grille there. Next, the rice. The white rice was by no means bad, but the rice had an odd flavor to it. Almost processed tasting. The long and short of it is that there's another Chinese buffet in town. It's kind of embarrassing to admit that the hubby and I trekked across town to finally try this place and used their $5.75 coupon from the weekly mailer. I read the reviews and beelined it to the Mongolian BBQ. I stuck with all veggies and gave the sweet Mexican guy free reign on my sauce choice. This was fresh, healthy and delicious. I recently stopped eating chicken and beef, so I cannot comment on these dishes. I stuck with the shrimp which was surprisingly tasty. I especially liked the lightly fried pepper shrimp. It tasted very good added to the Mongolian BBQ. I usually would never opt for sushi at an all you can eat buffet, but the salmon looked very fresh. I took a piece and carefully smelled it. Not fishy at all and not bad tasting. The hubby was shocked I was sampling this and upon my thumbs up, he proceeded to get two pieces of his own. He was also surprisingly happy. He also tried a roll with avocado on top. We did not chance eating more than this. The buffet food that I sampled was A-OK... Better than I expected, which was not much. This is not a place that we would frequent, but if we lived closer I would go for the Mongolian BBQ alone. That was the highlight of the meal to me. The almond cookies were also good. We were impressed by how often the staff turned over the food. The place was also very clean. We have pretty much banned eating at buffets after looking around at our fellow patrons. Our server Professor Zhou stared at my girlfriend the entire time we were eating with really creepy mouth movements. I am convinced that in my entire plate of orange chicken I didn't eat a single morsel of chicken. When I asked for a refund, Professor Zhou didn't honor the request. On the brighter side, my best bud Answole claims they give free naughty massages in the back, so that might be worth looking into. This was a love hate experience for me! Their sushi was warm on the buffet so that stunk. Overall the food was just ok. They have a made to order station where you can pick your meat, veggies, sauce, seasonings, etc. and they saute it on the flat cook top! That was the most amazing stir fry I have had in a long time! A very large group of my family met up at Buffet King last weekend. Dang they were busy! They gave us a number and we waited a while for them to get a large table put together for us. The food is hot, fresh, and tastes good. There is a LOT of variety and on the weekends there are a bunch of seafood dishes to choose from. My brother and others were please that a football game was on. They had TVs all over the place. The only drawback for us was the waiter service. Because of the large group, the tip was already included in the total, but he didn't really deserve it. Our plates were left on the table and piled up a couple of times. I sat with an empty water glass for a long while (eating something REALLY spicy). Other than that, we'd probably visit again for lunch and try it out. read more

As usual, I'm rating this buffet compared to other buffets, not against a quality sit-down place. I've come here a few times now, and while I was initially disappointed, I've definitely warmed up to the place. A majority of buffet items are standard buffet fare so it's no better or worse in that department than many other places. However: Due to the large number of people in here, the food turns over quickly which means it's fresher than most others. Two other big bonuses: The Mongolian BBQ and Sushi. The latter is actually pretty darn good and they make it on-site fresh; it's not imported pre-made from "Johnny's Chinese buffet superstore". I really like several of the selections. On Mother's Day lunch they had fresh snow crab legs. I guess they have these on the buffet on weekend nights also. Let me tell you: that is some GOOD stuff and well worth the money if you like crab legs. These are cooked and flash-frozen in Alaska, so all they have to do is put them out on the buffet.
