He's both analytical and methodical. He took his time to evaluate the situation, clearly communicate the work needed, and identify any potential issues. After work began, Patrick found two large roots growing in the drains that clearly needed to be addressed. He and his crew opened the concrete, replaced pipes, and even added new drains to help with the upcoming rain. He knew I was on a tight budget and found creative solutions to keep costs to a minimum. Being a woman with next to zero knowledge of plumbing, I could have been an easy target. I'm grateful for Patrick's honesty, kindness, and patience, even as I picked his brain on other trouble areas of my parents' home and my own home, with no promise of additional work. I never felt rushed to make a decision or given false promises. I even came out of this whole experience with a better understanding and appreciation for plumbing! Free Flo Rooters, please expand your service area to Culver City just so I can hire Patrick again!

He also gave good advice when it came to installing a new shower valve. Since there was no way to access where the valve was without cutting the tile, the waterproofing would have been compromised. So according to him, it would be best to either redo the shower or we would have to use a bigger plate than the one that came with our shower valve to cover the big hole in the front in order to make space to work on the valve. Even though in the end we didn't touch the shower, it was mainly because of Ruslan's detailed explanation of what the work would entail.

Sure enough, Joe ran into a few issues along the way, but he handled every one of them professionally and never let it slow him down. He did an excellent job getting my new tankless water heater installed and working properly. After that, Joe came inside to work on my shower valve. He took the time to lay down drop cloths and protect my home before starting the work. Of course, he ran into a few challenges with the older plumbing, but once again, Joe figured it out and got the job done right. I couldn't be happier with the service, craftsmanship, professionalism, and overall experience. Joe clearly takes pride in his work, and it shows. If you're calling Western Rooter, ask for Joe! That plumber told us the issue was likely due to our drains not being properly vented and that fixing it could involve breaking into walls and cost somewhere in the $4,000-$10,000 range. I sent Doug a message on Yelp, and he responded quickly with what turned out to be the correct diagnosis: biofilm buildup in the sink's overflow area. Even more impressive, he told me it was something I could probably fix myself. He offered to talk with me by phone and patiently explained what was going on, which I really appreciated because I honestly didn't even understand how that part of the sink worked. In the end, I was able to fix the problem myself with a flexible brush and a little bleach- less than $10 total. Doug could easily have come out and charged me, but instead he gave me honest, expert advice and helped me avoid a huge unnecessary expense.
