He came and gave us an estimate, and it was cool that there is a discount for multiples of the same job. After he left there was one place that I saw was dripping a teeny bit, I texted and he came back the next day, fixed it, no problem! Coincidentally we needed a backflow test so we had Alex out the following week and he was great too! He let us know that although we passed this year to be ready for next year being a problem, and we appreciate the heads up! After hours on the phone with the previous plumber and the warranty company, they were not able to send someone out until after the weekend so we decided to look for an external company. After checking out Yelp, I called Western Rooter. They answered on the second ring (yay no voicemail box), and they walked me through the process. We were scheduled immediately to be serviced (weekend emergency). I cannot thank them enough! I was stressed out and really discouraged but Ritchie was prompt, knowledgeable, and professional. He cleared out the clog, cleaned out the black sludge in the tub, and even was kind to my very nosey and friendly 3-year-old who wanted to greet him at the door. 5-star plumber! This should be great! The first time OK. He fixed a buried PVC line at a slightly high price. But if they're reliable, it might be worth it, right? The second time was very bad. The tech quoted $1550 for a job that takes well under 4 hours with $200 in parts, and it was a sketchy fix. No go. But no bad review because it could be a fluke, right? Third time? Bad again. So it wasn't a fluke. Tech came for repair of the first job but apparently didn't know it was warranty service. He talked about replacing galvanized pipe with copper. I said it sounded expensive because PVC was really the problem. I suggested he talk to his boss because he the one who was paying for the warranty repair. He went blank, said OK, and when I came back, he and his assistant had left without saying a word. To their credit, Western Rooter promptly sent another tech, and he's now replacing 16 inches of PVC as warranty service (picture). So, I had thought one bad experience after a good one was a fluke. But now I can't ignore two bad experiences in a row. You have to stay on your toes. Two stars because they did send another tech to fix the problem. One star otherwise. read more

I still after these past few months have not been able to get over this company and their and employees Elias and Justin who gave me deceptive advice. I called the company to have my master bedroom toilet unclogged. I was going through a very hard time with other difficulties going on and I had to make a decision. I originally asked for them to unclog my toilet. they took a camera and started telling me I have other problems. It cost me over $32,000 and I let them talk into it~when I complained before, but I heard from the workers the plumbing pipes furnace room finishing downstairs while they were correcting the problem that THEY made~ and I told them it was your company that did that job previously. Elias and Justin told me they'd have to do it that night at 9:00 PM or I would get charged again for another call another day, for their mistake! After paying 32,000+ guess what? The very same toilet in the master bedroom that I wanted unclogged, clogged 1 month later ! It's just my husband and myself and it's not like we abuse with to much toilet paper,etc. When I called another company and one of the owners used to work for them many years ago ltold me that he quit because they are deceptive. I'm sorry to have to say this, but it really bothers me that the owner Never even tried to reach out to me. You know why because they're wrong and they Know it. However, this is the second time I've reached out. I just hope that someone like me that may be perhaps vulnerable and have to make a decision on their own. Art did an amazing job, front to back. I am SO grateful to him for figuring out our issue from the getgo, which wasn't easy. We hired two other companies to come try and figure out why our hot water kept going cold occasionally. They both assured us that it had to be the mixing valve or cartridge failure. I requested service for my pilot light being faulty. I'm familiar with how to get pilot lights going, even in very old heaters. They came out the following day and said the pilot unit was faulty and went to get the replacement parts and swapped it all out the same day. So it's like a new heater again. Very professional and polite in suggestions and solutions. Instead of just saying get a new heater to make money. I have a technically complicated drain clog, involving a dual vanity that connects via a Y - had people snake it previously, used pressure gun, poured acid to sit overnight, etc and nothing worked. Called Western as a hail mary - 2 technicians came and snaked it again to 50ft+, couldn't fix it and the drains are now completely clogged. Due to location, couldn't hydro jet, so I lost all hope. Western immediately dispatched another technician, Jairo, who came 30 min after the previous 2 technicians left. They did not leave me hanging over the weekend! Jairo was patient and explained why galvanized pipes could clog more after snaking, but wanted to snake one more time. To my surprise, he fixed it after trying both sinks!! JAIRO IS THE MAN! He's got magic fingers and can feel the line, absolutely amazing! He even proposed to snake from the roof vent if all fails... this level of responsibility is a rare treasure nowadays.
