I had a pretty major redrain that needed for an older house. The underfloor area was a pretty tight area, and a couple of plumbers were either reluctant to do the work or were charging much higher rates. When William from Rooter Hero arrived, he quickly went into the underfloor area and evaluated the system. The job was pretty major but the installers, Alberto and Luis, were professional and completed the full reworking in about a day and half. Glad to have this job done, and overall feel like I had a positive experience with Rooter Hero. read more

I recently had a technician from Rooter Hero Plumbing and Air come to my home to inspect a strange smell coming from the attic. I suspected a possible Freon leak and requested an evaluation of my AC unit. Unfortunately, the technician's demeanor was unprofessional and dismissive from the start. Rather than assessing the situation, Christian asked condescending questions that made me feel uncomfortable and belittled. When I explained my concern, he responded with, "What do you want me to do? Smell it?"--a response I found both unhelpful and inappropriate for someone in a service role. His tone and body language made me feel uneasy in my own home, which should never be the case, and I asked him to leave. I called this company expecting knowledgeable assistance and respectful communication. Instead, I was met with a lack of professionalism, minimal effort, and an attitude that made the experience frustrating and unsettling. There are a lot of places to call for professional help. This is not the place. read more

Alex arrived in less than an hour and fixed my issue immediately. He was very professional and I would use this company again on the future.

I wish I would of read these reviews before allowing this company to do the work. I had a slow drain not biggie but the plumber indicated that it was caused by a figure 5 pipe set up under my sink. I have had that since 2005 and had plumbers before and no mention of the configuration. Needless to say Jerry the plumber told me I needed to swap that out and the cost would be 3400. Instead of me getting a second opinion I agreed. Biggest mistake ever. Now I have leaks that were never there before and this company states it was probably going to happen anyway. They wanted to charge me more money for something that never was there in the beginning. The plumber told me he would come and check it and after 4 weeks of Bull**** from him I told him not to come back to my house. I have had several plumbers come out and look and state that the figure 5 set up doesn't case a slow drain. I still have to get it fixed but not by this company. Be aware of this company. Even the Boss was rude and telling me the same thing that it was waiting to happened. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and possible small claims based on the comments from other plumbers. read more

5 Stars for sending Joseph to our rental property! He was only hired to snake the upstairs bathroom sink, but we surprised him with a very important last-minute job to prep the plumbing for a washer/dryer delivery that was happening this same day! (We were denied delivery the previous day, because our plumbing was not up to par). FIRST JOB (Bathroom sink) Joseph found that the pop-up stopper was stuck inside the existing pop-up assembly pipe (no wonder the Drano liquid solution didn't solve the problem)! SECOND JOB - WOW, we are impressed!!! We've had 2 other companies refuse to help us, strictly because of the setup of how our stackable washer/dryer/cupboard is (very tight w/ limited access working space) -- But that didn't stop Joseph! We are so grateful that he didn't let that small space stop him from removing and replacing both washing machine shutoff valves so that our delivery could happen! We are so grateful everything went so smoothly and our tenant was happy too! As property owners of rental properties, we have been through our share of plumbers, and we highly recommend Rooter Hero/Service Hero and especially Joseph S.!!! We will be calling you again, since we also feel everything was very reasonable! read more

STAY FAR FAR AWAY from these clowns. I just had to fork over 6,600.00 for a job that should have been 625.00 . Their TECHNICIANS are actually licensed SALESPERSONS. Check them out on the CSLB. The SP on the end of their licenses means SALESPERSON. Their technician L. S. misrepresented the job to his supervisor and told him that my 2 toilets were back to back on 1 line and that was his excuse for NOT snaking my master bathroom toilet. We called them out to clear our master restroom toilet and the technician "CABLED" my guest toilet instead. When I say CABLED I mean that Rooter Hero picks and chooses when to use a cutter blade or bulb to clear a soft blockage. They basically tell you that they will hurt your pipes if they use any type of a cutter blade so they can UPSELL you a DOUBLE CLEAN OUT like you see in a lot of reviews. When I asked the technician LS why he didn't snake my original, master bathroom toilet problem that we called him out for he said and I am quoting exactly what he said. He said, " What good would have that have done?" Well, it would have saved me $6,000.00 for beginners. I had put a stop on my job to try to straighten out why I had 2 UNAUTHORIZED signatures and why I was missing my 5 Day Notice to Cancel document, Right to Rescission document, and my 3 Day Right to Cancel document. 2 of which showed up after we requested a second set of emailed documents a day or two later. When I questioned the unauthorized signatures NO ONE could explain where they came from. They tossed me from one person to another to play the shell game that they play. They billed me twice as a COMPLETED JOB before I even had a FINAL INSPECTION done in the work that they did. Their billing department called to collect their money and when I informed the lady that the inspection had not been completed yet she said that she sent LS a message to call me back. LS never called me back. I tried calling back the billing girl to see if she had told LS to call me back. She has NOW BLOCKED MY NUMBER. They sent an "INSTALLER" out to glue the risers for the double clean out and to backfill. I observed the installer applying the ABS glue to the damp surface after he removed the riser from the adjoining coupler. I asked him if he was going to dry off the moisture before applying the glue. He replied, "It will evaporate." WOW! Is all I could think. And HE'S THE PROFESSIONAL HERE? He applied glue over the damp coupler as well and joined them together. Approximately 13 minutes later I went outside and observed him backfilling the hole BEFORE the glue had cured and BEFORE getting the FINAL INSPECTION done. He said that he took pictures to send to the inspector and they told him to backfill it. . The inspector made them dig it back out for an actual inspection. When final inspection day came the inspector passed it but the risers were still way out of vertical alignment and needed to be straightened out. LS did not come back to my job because "HE IS BUSY WITH OTHER JOBS." Ya, he's out screwing seniors and can't get back to you is what I was thinking. Is anyone else here seeing a pattern? They sent out another guy Phil to dig out the dirt for inspection and backfill again. He had to loosen the clean out bands and turn the clean out slightly to make it actually vertical. The problem with this is that the inspector was going to have to reinspect it again because he had moved the pipes again. At this point I am totally over Rooter Hero and all the BS that they have put me through. I asked their supervisor BF why his guy didn't attempt to snake my second toilet. He was told that the toilets were on the same line with back to back toilets so there is no point in snaking the second toilet. When I took the supervisor into my house and asked him if he thought my bathrooms SHARED the same line. He COULD NOT ADMIT that my toilets each had their own branch lines. My toilets are on separate branch lines. I have the master bathroom with a north to south drain line and a guest bathroom that runs east/west. The east/west branch line is approximately 16 feet long and meets with the north/south line connected by a branch connector. (Wye) The supervisor could not admit that they were wrong. He thought that the pipes were close enough to count as 1 I guess. There is a lot more to this story than what I have here. Stay clear of this company. BELIEVE the Yelp reviews. I don't recommend this company to anyone. State Board needs to take notice of this company and investigate it. Very shady business practices. I'm not done yet. I did my due diligence and paid them in full. Now it's their turn to pay. I gave 2 stars because Phil finished the job. Oh! BTW. When the supervisor was collecting the check he asked me, "Who is Phil? Your son? I had to explain to A SUPERVISOR that Phil was the guy they sent out to finish the job. He works for Rooter Hero. What a freakin' joke they are. read more

These guys are either incompetent or dishonest. My kitchen/laundry drains are joined at or close to the sewer drain in the concrete foundation, and one or the other clogs every few years and causes overflow through the sewer tap outside. It's a simple drain cleaning, and I've had it performed numerous times in the 25 years that I've lived in my house. Their technician brought up some debris and told me it was tree roots from the sewer line downstream in the yard causing a backup into the house; then he tried to get me to agree to a camera inspection and hydrojet. When I declined, he called his manager, which I didn't ask him to do. Nevertheless, I spoke with the manager, who also tried to convince me to do the camera and hydrojet. He said he would apply a senior discount as well as a military discount--even though I told him twice that I have no family members in the military--and the services would total $1400. I declined and paid them their advertised $59 fee (actually $60 because I paid in cash) , and then I called another plumber that I have found to be reliable, but expensive, in the past. They came and cleared the drain in less than 10 minutes for $179 and showed me that the clog was fabric from the washing machine (which does tend to shred towels). I called Rooter Hero back and informed them of this fact and asked to speak to the manager, who of course was unavailable. I was told that he would return my call, but he never did. TOTAL WASTE OF $60. read more

Our family car stopped working on the freeway, thankfully we were able to drive off onto an exit but had to push our car away from those coming off the freeway. We were only able to push it a few feet off the intersection and ended up in front of this business at around 10:30 pm. While we were waiting for a tow we decided to stand as far from the car as possible in case a car was to crash into it since we weren't able to push it far away from the intersection. While we were waiting for the tow the owners started yelling at us through their security cameras and threatened to call the police on us multiple times for "trespassing". It would be obvious to anyone with eyes that we do not want to stand in from of their business for 30 to 45 minutes in the cold waiting for a tow. I hope when the people who own this business have car troubles, they run into someone just like them. I'd give them zero stars if I could. read more

**Subject: Dishonest, Overpriced, and Unreliable - My Experience with Rooter Hero Plumbing** To Whom It May Concern, I'm writing to share a frustrating and disappointing experience I had with Rooter Hero Plumbing and Air, which I believe involved dishonest advertising, excessive pricing, and extremely poor follow-up service. On a Saturday around 4 p.m., I called Rooter Hero for a clogged bathroom drain. A technician showed up about an hour later. He was courteous and attempted a cleanout, which I was charged $390 for -- a far cry from the $77 clog special"** advertised on their website. That price supposedly applies only if there are "no restrictions," and my home didn't have any, but they still refused to honor the offer. The technician was able to get the water flowing, but within two days, the bathroom was backing up again. I called Rooter Hero around 5 p.m. and was told I'd get a call back within 30 minutes. I didn't. I called again 45 minutes later, and again after that. The operator told me they were just a phone service and couldn't reach anyone. No one followed up. I went an entire night without a working bathroom because Rooter Hero failed to honor their service guarantee or even return my call. The next day, a different technician returned -- this time with a camera. He inspected the line and told me I needed a **descaling**, but they couldn't do it through the inside pipes. Because I didn't have an exterior clean-out, they said they'd need to install one to run their high-pressure system. The quote? $5,900. When I told him that seemed excessive and mentioned the company never called me back the night before, he replied, So you wouldn't go with us just because we didn't call you back? Yes -- I won't do business with a company that doesn't follow through. After that visit, I called a licensed local plumber. He charged $400 to descale the line and explained that there was no need for an external clean-out or pressure washer. The pressure from the tub drain was more than enough to flush the pipe. It worked flawlessly -- I have video proof. I even asked him how much it would cost to install an exterior clean-out just to compare. His quote? $1,200-$1,500. That's a far cry from Rooter Hero's $5,900** proposal. This whole experience felt like a bait-and-switch. They use low advertised prices to get in the door, then upsell dramatically -- even when it's unnecessary. Worse, they didn't honor their own guarantee and left me hanging when I needed help. I hope others read this and take my advice: **Get a second opinion.** Don't let Rooter Hero take advantage of you. Sincerely, A very dissatisfied customer read more

I cannot emphasize enough the importance of not using Rooter Hero Plumbing & Air for any plumbing or air conditioning services. Unfortunately, my personal encounter with this company was accompanied by dishonest practices, exorbitant charges, and unwarranted upselling. To put it candidly, Rooter Hero Plumbing & Air significantly overcharged me for a relatively minor job. I paid a staggering $10,000 for a project that should have cost approximately $3,000. This blatant overpricing is nothing short of a scam, and I refuse to let others suffer a similar fate. To add insult to injury, I relied on the services of one of their finance companies, GoodLeap, to facilitate the payment for the job. Despite their initial attempts to help me rectify the situation, they unfortunately could not provide a satisfactory resolution. I implore you to exercise extreme caution when dealing with Rooter Hero Plumbing & Air's sales representatives, particularly individuals named Vanessa, Lou, and Jeffrey. These individuals are notorious for employing high-pressure tactics and attempting to upsell unnecessary services. While I can acknowledge that the technicians who actually perform the work are polite and skilled, it is essential to cross-check the scope of work and associated charges with other reputable plumbing professionals. I assure you that, if you have enlisted their services in the past, there is a high likelihood that you were overcharged. Please share this message with your network and spread the word about Rooter Hero Plumbing & Air's unethical practices. By doing so, we can collectively protect others from falling victim to their deceptive tactics. Thank you for taking the time to read my warning. I sincerely hope that this information is helpful to you and others who may consider engaging with Rooter Hero Plumbing & Air. Should you require any further details or have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. read more

The AC in my house stopped working so I needed a professional. Turns out Rotter Pro Hero isn't it. Christian Macias came to the house and basically messed up my system. I trusted the word of a "Professional" and I got screwed. Lucky for me a family friend came to check it out and told me what needs to be changed to fix it. Christian started off by saying that I had a very old system, which I messed up and didnt check myself. He told me it was a 2008 system and when I went to check the manufacturing date it's actually from 2015. Once I saw this I started looking for someone else I knew these guys were full of BS. After that the tech stared claming I had a leak. I believed him so I told him to proceed I just wanted the AC fixed. After he added the sealant, he then told me my compressor was busted. Turns out at I needed was to change a fuse(don't know the actual name of it) and it started right back up. I was told the green liquid meant to seal a leak was actually now blocking the conversion of freeon from gas to liquid. Rooter hero tried to tell me I needed a new compressor and the total for a new one with service was $6840. I would steer clear from these guys and find a smaller company that actually wants to help you fix your problems. Don't waste your time when they are just going to send someone to actually mess up your system. Also when you try to call their care team to try and talk to them about what happened, they just blow you off. Lucky for me i was able to dispute the claim thru my bank and got the money back i paid for them to come out. read more
