That plumber told us the issue was likely due to our drains not being properly vented and that fixing it could involve breaking into walls and cost somewhere in the $4,000-$10,000 range. Even more impressive, he told me it was something I could probably fix myself. His first and second plumbing services were not bad as expected and even his charge were high. For recent services, I found he did not replace bad/problem parts with the new parts which normal plumbers should do (no doubt right). So a couple of days later after his service, you noticed the problems were still there and not really fixed so you needed to call him back again and he would still charge you for changing his used/defective parts he replaced at the first place at the beginning with new parts (hopefully). I am really still unbelievable this things happened to me more than once to make me realize the issues. Doug just finished finishing an issue in our shower. We originally called one of those plumbing companies that does a lot of great marketing. They came in, didn't even bother opening up the trim and sold us a story about how we needed to get all of this work done, and they would give us a discounted price in the thousands of dollars. 8:45pm after a long day, and about to put all our kids down to sleep and we hear this loud steam/hissing sound coming from inside our water heater closet. My husband finally decided to change the water filter under the kitchen sink. He ended up breaking the handle off the 1/4 cold water valve and water started spraying out of the valve.
