It's ok but not the best I've had. It will suffice when I'm in the mood for a nearby bubble drink. I ordered a hot milk tea with pearls then discovered it's made with milk powder (not real milk?, bummer). It tasted ok but I had hoped for actual milk. The drink was warm when I received it, not hot. Oddly, it's served in a paper cup with a lid so there's no way to eat the pearls. They did give me a plastic spoon though. It was difficult to manage a cup, lid, and spoon while walking down the street. The menu offers basic drinks but it wasn't as extensive, nor exciting, as I've had elsewhere. Worst bubble tea I've ever tasted! I was super craving milk tea after lunch and this place was a block from our hotel Taro Milk Tea with half Rainbow jelly and half tapioca- first of all, the guy takes half a cup of powder and throws it in the water, swishes it around in the machine and then adds the jelly. This is not fresh milk tea and it is WAY TOO TOO SWEET! My teeth were hurting and I had to throw it away after a few sips. What a waste of $4.75. I HAD to try a boba place here. This was the closest one to my hotel, and it was ok. I tried the brown rice matcha milk tea with boba. I asked the worker if she could make it with black tea instead, but honestly, I could still taste the green tea. I think it was half black tea and half green tea. But the boba was pretty good. The original bbt place in downtown that's still around and still one of the best bbt for value! Slightly less $$ compare to other bbt joints. Personally love the milk tea in slush. Apparently they used their own special brown sugar for their milk tea. Not overly sweet. Perfect balance of sweetness and tea. Black sesame was also very good. You could taste the roasted black sesame. But it was abit sweeter so I would order it with less sugar or order it in the slush. Service is fast and Pearls are bouncy and chewy and fresh! read more

Now let me start with letting you know that I've been to many a bubble tea shop in my days. Bubble World, while not amazing, definitely gets the job done. The interior leaves much to be desired, especially in terms of seating. Angela ordered taro milk tea with pearls (which cost $0.75 to add on-- what happened to the days of free pearls?) and I ordered taro slush. Both were pretty run-of-the-mill. The taro slush had good consistency but felt a little watery. The milk tea was better, in my opinion, but also felt a bit diluted. If I was to come back, I would definitely go for the Oreo taro slush as that seemed to be quite popular. If you're strolling down Robson street with a craving for bubble tea, this place will do the trick, just don't count on finding a seat inside. read more

My sis and I passed by this bubble world because we were craving their chicken nuggets! We ordered the chicken nuggets, the octopus tentacles and the soup. They don't have as much things in their menu as the other bubble worlds. The food was nice and definitely hit the spot. We ordered milk taro slush with pearls and shared it. Never thought I'd ever pop in here, but I did after surfing the web for fresh papaya smoothies! Bonus! You get to have tapioca pearls, or "bubbles", here! I like fresh papaya smoothies. As papaya is not a hardy fruit, nor is it very popular, most places are reluctant to buy and store them. As a result, I scramble to find bubble tea cafes that offer fresh papaya and milk. But, here is one - for those of you who care! I had one yesterday and it was quite good. They'll also customize it for you - I always ask that they eliminate the scoop of syrup. It just makes bubble tea a little less sugary! There seems to be food available as well. And loads of entertainment! Very unique, and perhaps a little strange. One of the only place downtown for bbtea... Maybe the only as well which really sucks... But anyways this is also one of the Starbucks of bbtea of Vancouver but none the less it gets it done. I come here every year as a tradition before/after fireworks! I love it that it is on the way to the beach and just grab a bubble tea and go. I find that this store is too small though which is losing it's 1 star right there. I only find this place as a grab and go establishment and not a sit down and hang out store. I don't even want to know why they want to add food onto their menu when it is too small for the food part.... This just boggles me, and Hon's is right down the street too. Like literally 4 stores away. I do enjoy their service and their regular BB tea that can satisfy my cravings. Note: they need hotter guys working here, most of them are girls, and the guy that works here must be the manager. Great bubble tea. I love the watermelon and strawberry pineapple slush when the weather turns warm, so much that I don't even try other kinds! Some places make the pearls super soft or overly hard, but theirs are the best. Their coconut jelly is also delicious. Last time I went in I noticed that they have a bunch of different jelly flavours, so next time I might be daring and try aloe or cookie. read more

With the limited number of BBT shops in downtown, I sometimes stop here to get my fix. I always have their slushes (my preferred type of consistency), and mostly their matcha slush. It's never too sweet, and never too bland. They almost make it just right. The pearls, however, are not really sweetened, so it doesn't taste perfect. When my friend got a green tea latte and it wasn't sweet enough, they were glad to take it back and remake one for her. A very nice gesture. They open till late-at least until 12am, and people that work here are usually in a good mood and quite friendly. read more

I stopped by Bubble World on a recent trip to Vancouver, after trying Vietnamese food at Chef Lien next door. They have a extensive list of bubble tea and other drinks, and even space for playing video games, if you choose. I had the Earl Grey cold bubble tea with pearls, which was so delicious. I live in Los Angeles, where we thankfully also have a bunch of bubble tea spots. Of course I had to check one out on my visit to Vancouver..it's one of my favorite drinks. I'd recommend trying some bubble tea as a mini-dessert after having lunch or dinner at one of the wonderful nearby restaurants :) read more

Green tea milk tea - 5/5. I don't normally go for milk teas, but I saw that this place was a "diner's choice" so I stopped in to try the "standard" green tea milk tea. Although I didn't try anything exotic, being able to try a "basic" drink and be impressed speaks realms about the location. We were visiting Vancouver when we stumbled upon this place after a day of biking. The kids really wanted bubble tea. We searched yelp and found great reviews here and decided to try it out. Unlike other bubble tea places, there was only one size for the drinks however portions were big and prices were quite reasonable. We had a coconut milk tea, passionfruit green tea with pearls and a mango slush. All drinks were delicious and not too sweet. As a bonus, there were free video games for the kids to play. Ahhh, their bubbles are just not that great. Got their papaya milk-slush, it tasted too milky and not enough papaya. On the up side, they did used real fruit. Watermelon is probably the way to go. Quick and friendly service on both visits! The fresh fruit bubble teas are such a great deal- $5 for a large size. I had the papaya milk one night and an avocado milk the next night. Both were flavourful and so smooth. They have little stations where you can play a few retro games too. read more

I haven't had bubble tea in a long time, but last night we came here because someone in our group had a late night craving. =) I have to say it's pricey for a bubble tea house, but it's on Robson in this area of Vancouver so it's reasonable. (miss those $1 LA days) Interesting thing is that they have some sort of video console setup for you to battle your companion in Tekken?StreetFighter? sort of game, where a total beginner like me just smashes all the buttons to oust the very seasoned players.. haha.. ;-) Will try to get a small group of maybe 4-6 to come by for their simple snack/meals, reasonably priced because this is not a full restaurant and thus the familiar servings of the equivalent of Chinese fast food.. but delicious and still somewhat nutritionally balanced at that. So apparently all Visas in Canada are credit cards. Even if my Visa from the states is a debit. I came here on Sunday to meet with a friend. I tried to order a Jasmine Milk tea (my staple) only to be told they only accept cash and debit. Well, okay. My friend ended up buying my drink for me (Thanks, Corey!) I didn't get pearls in mine. This joint has a special place in my heart. It was where I first realized I could blend strawberry slush and mango slush together to form a strawberry-mango slush bbt. It was also where I ordered my first Taro slush bbt (jul 3/15) in my life. It was so good! I have a sweet tooth, but I would probably order the taro half sweet next time. Definitely has space for enough bbt fans to enjoy catching up and socializing. They also have coin vending machines filled with cute up to date trinkets. It maybe because of my generous spirit that I write this review or I will not be returning to this place since I'm going back to Los Angeles soon. First off, this place is super affordable.
