This is my go to place for bubble tea and late night snacks because they're opened so late. I love their old fashion milk tea and ferrero rocher slush. The slush is either a hit or a miss because they blend actual ferrero rochers and I like to taste the chocolate and not have it completely blended in. I usually try to call ahead for taro pearls or pudding milk tea because they don't have it in stock half of the time. Taro pearls are only offered on the weekend but I find that it adds a weird sweet flavor to my milk tea so I don't order it anymore. I've only tried their fried chicken strips and chicken knees. I think they use the same ingredients for all their deep fried stuff so they're all pretty decent. The one thing I hate about bubble world is how they only accept cash. I usually only carry credit so it's a hassle to remember to bring cash with me every time I stop by. I only order take out 90% of the time because it's too crowded and understaffed most of the time. A solid place for late-nite action & food/bubble tea. Still surprises me how many ppl have late cravings at 1am! At least for me, I have an excuse driving home from hockey at 8 Rinks, but usually a crowd mingling outside; never a dull moment. I've been here multiple times and apparently never wrote a review for it. Well here is my review. Service and food can be very inconsistent depending on who is making your food and whether or not you eat in or take out. So, I give this place a solid 3.5 stars because I still like their bubble tea but that would be at almost every bubble world. Most of the time when I'm here I just grab take out bbt or snack food whether it is eat in or take out. The food is ok in my perspective but the bbt are generally pretty good. Like it's not a huge difference like too sweet or too watery. Which is good. I would say the service is pretty meh. I understand they try to hire asian girls with big boobs. But please make sure they don't pop a button off their shirt. There was a girl who wore their uniform and that's what it looks like. Not sure if she works there anymore. The environment of the place is very chinese. They have comfortable chairs but they utilize every little space they can to fit people in the place. But it can be very loud. What can I say about this place? You cannot really love or hate this place because you know you'll always order from them. Bubble World's, especially this Kingsway location has always been a local staple for a quick, tasty, take-out within it's surrounding areas. It gets really busy during dinner times everyday and probably more busier on holidays. You cannot really complain with service because they are always..well..busy! I guess my 3 stars is to just consider it as a "gets the work done" kind of review. 90% of my orders here are take-out and rarely I eat in. Lunch time definitely gets tamer and more relaxed. Some recommendations: The legendary Salty Peppery Chicken Nuggets or Squid Feet. Satay Beef and the Five Spice Chinese Roll. For drinks, I always get the classic Taro Slush or the Black Bean Slush, both of course..with pearls. My recent visit, we ordered the Kimchi Beef Hotpot and it was delicious and inexpensive. Nice! I don't like this place. I think the reason it's so popular and crowded is because it's one of the few places in the area to hang out late at night besides going to a bar (although it isn't much quieter). I used to go here with my friends every week before I knew any better-but it was more about the ability to socialize at 11PM on a Thursday night, the only time of day we were free to meet up. The bubble tea is always watery-before I even begin drinking it there is already quite a bit of liquid, and by the time I get about 2/3rds of the way through my slush there's no more slush to be found. The coconut jelly (which I usually order instead of tapioca pearls) is really, really sweet and takes away from the flavour of your drink. The food here is ok-they took away my favorite menu item though (coconut thick toast)-but I think it's better than their bubble tea from what my friends have said (who usually order late night dinners). I used to love this place, but now I've found better. I much prefer Pearl Drops in Burnaby or, if I want to relax with a friend and eat a meal, Pearl House further east on Kingsway is way better and much quieter. read more

I used to come here soo often when I lived in Burnaby. I usually order the salty peppery chicken with noodle in soup and deep fried squid tentacles! Today, I ordered the marinated meat with noodles. It was pretty good except they give a bowl of noodles with probably two spoonfuls of meat sauce..it wouldnt kill them to give a little bit more. It was a little bland. My friend ordered a similar dish but it was the marinated meat and tofu one, and I actually liked that a lot more cuz the sauce coated the noodles better because it was thicker and more flavorful. There are so many restaurants like this around the metro area, and I only come to bubbleworld because of the atmosphere. Fast, efficient, professional. Despite a full restaurant, the food came within minutes. Although english wasn't the servers first language, she made a genuine effort to make herself understood, and explained everything. They were also playing some lit ass Japanese trap, so extra props for that. The only reason Im not giving it 5 stars is because they put a picture on the menu that wasnt what the food beside it was, so I ended up getting something I didnt really like, but to an extent that was my fault for not asking/being careful enough. Always a great place for a quick food grab after all the restaurants have closed. I used to come here all the time when I was still in High School. It was amazing, and this place is always packed. Most of the time I got around 6:00pm to beat the rush or either 8:00pm on weekend. Most people go around 9-11 which is why this place is so popular, because it is opened till 1:00am. The area is well-known for hobos, so lock your cars, and lock your doors, and watch out for your children... (You see what I did there XD) Anyways, I love coming here with some friends for a nice catch up and grab some BBTEA. Oh bubbleworld, I've been drinking your bbt since 98' when I was only 7. So went there last night and got really good food like 4.5/5. But before that I was fixated on something else, algae growing on the underside of me and friend's spoons. And if you know me I'm one to be fair, in fact I like BBworld but when the server took away those spoons and gave new clean ones, I would've respected them more had they not given the dirty ones to the table that arrived next to us. The pros of this place include: 1) fairly tasty and inexpensive food, 2) a large selection of bubble tea flavors that come with nice presentation, and 3) it's open extremely late. The cons include: 1) it's usually crowded and noisy, 2) the service is pretty bad, and 3) it's cash only. I don't really BLAME the servers for the poor service; it's a somewhat inevitable consequence of how busy the place is. But still, it can definitely be annoying for the customer. As for the place being crowded, that may be more of an issue for me than for many other customers. I'm someone who hates feeling too close to strangers while I eat. I want to feel like I have my OWN space that I'm not sharing with anyone else. This Bubble World has a few niche tables that are good for people with my personal space requirements, if you're lucky enough to get one of them. But more often than not, there are only a couple of free tables in the whole place and they're very close to the ones around them. Either it's because I find their prices over-the-top expensive, or because the drinks themselves are beyond sweet - diabetes-inducing sweet. Bubble World is no exception to the expensive cost of drinks and the excessive use of sugar. I find it ridiculous to have to pay so much for powder, artificial flavours, and sugar. The food is okay, but they're always inconsistent with the types of vegetables used in dishes. I usually order a 'satay sauce lamb' dish, but it's never consistent. Friend of the wife and I wanted us to try out Bubble World. He didn't know that it had been closed down for renovations for months... so he was surprised to see it changed a bit. Service took a while to get started... it was pretty busy inside, and they had only one person taking orders (one behind the counter making bbt). After the order was in... didn't take too long to get the food out. The wife had beef noodle soup, I had spicy beef noodle soup and the friend had the pork chop rice bowl meal. The soup was tasty... noodles decent. Not too spicy (I have a pretty high spice threshold, so take that for what it's worth.... the wife complained that mine was TOO spicy), but spicy enough. The bubble tea was good... I hadn't had a hot taro bbt for quite a while, so decided on that... the wife had some sort of honey tea with pearls that she liked. Overall things were ok... nothing earth shattering, but the way things were knocked out... I'd guess it was pretty consistent. Awesome! Mango Slush: This was delicious! Comparable to Bubble Queen's almighty Mango Slush! Bubble Queen's is more of a smoothie consistency whereas this is a slush. This was definitely alot sweeter than Bubble Queen's version. It was extremely thick, milky and amazingly decadent. Definitely felt like I was eating dessert! One thing I have to commend Bubble World for is their pearls. Their pearls are really spot on! They're not too firm nor too soft and have a great chew. Salt Peppery Chicken Combo: This may be one of the largest sized chicken nuggets serving I've had at a casual Taiwanese bubble tea/food cafe. Apparently the fish fillet combo is even larger! The salt peppery chicken were pretty tasty! The skin was crispy, crunchy with a generous dusting of the 5 spices on the exterior. The interior meat was rather dry though, however that didn't take away from the overall dish. They also included two side dishes, one with some tofu in tomato sauce, and another with Taiwanese bean curd. The tomato sauce was tangy and subtly sweet. Well excuse you but as far as I remember tip exist as a way of giving extra when you as consumer thinks they deserve it. My party and I didn't feel they did anything to feel us extra special and waitress just took order and serve it. I dont see which part of the service deserve the tip that they were insisting. I've gone to this place many times before and their food is really good and overall has a good price point. However, I feel the customer service they deliver completely destroys your experience there. I went out with a couple of friends and when we were finally ready to order, our waitress was super rude. She was super impatient with us and raised her voice every time we didn't understand what she was trying to say. And the attitude she portrayed was as if she didn't want to serve us. Finally, when we were paying for our meal she implied that we had to pay more tip and when we added the rest of the money that we had she was still disappointed at the fact that it still wasn't enough. We ordered the salty peppery chicken nuggets and the Traditional Taiwanese three sauce chicken dish today. I was very disappointed to see the amount was about 2/3 full and it is not because the box for the nuggets was big to begin with. I ordered this dish as takeout about 2 weeks ago thinking maybe I got unlucky with the kitchen guy giving me so little which is why I decided to give it another chance today. I will not be ordering this again even though I have enjoyed this very much in the past. In the restaurant they put these in a basket and most definitely has way more chicken. As for the three sauce chicken dish, it was also 2/3 full with so many sliced ginger pieces as fillers, and the plastic container isn't that big. Tasted ok and was a bit spicy which is fine, though the pieces had a lot of bone and little meat. I know it is a pandemic right now and business is slower but please do not sacrifice on the quantity or quality to save yourself money. And especially do not think we are idiots who won't see the quantity issue until we are home and feel too lazy to complain. It is harder to keep returning customers than to gain a new customer. Drove to Canada from Washington with my boyfriend. We decided to stay in Burnaby to shop at the Metropolis mall. We were actually just walking around to see what stores and shops were around and saw that this place was pretty packed. It was pretty cold that day, so we decided to get a warm drink. We got a Hot Honey Milk Green Tea. I have to say, that is the best hot boba tea I have ever gotten. The pearls were cooked to perfection and the drink was just right. We went here again one last time before we left and went back to Washington, but this time we decided to dine in. My boyfriend ordered their calamari, and I ordered some Spicy Tofu Soup (not sure if that is the correct name). The spicy tofu was so goooooooood. The calamari was okay. The drinks we ordered were Honey Green Tea with Boba, no milk. The drink was perfect as well. What else surprised us was the cup it came in. I've never had boba tea in a big mug like that before.
