This review was sitting in drafts and should've been sent I've already posted a review but have been to this spot a number of times since and I am never disappointed. From the pleasant greetings and masked smiles you receive from owners Gio & Candace, to the delicious meals they are putting out, this place deserves the 5 stars. The food is flavorful and ALWAYS HOT which I love. They do not skimp on ensuring you are satisfied as that appears to be one of their main priorities. Gio is so friendly and welcoming with all who enter and he and his wife make a beautiful team together. I am a vegetarian and there are a number of options from fried shrimp, fried fish, beyond burgers and they have breakfast items which I have not yet tried. They are also very accommodating. My friend really enjoys the chicken wings here and yesterday I ordered the fish and chips w/o the fries and lettuce wrapped - hey, I have to cut where I can, trust me I would've preferred it on bread or with the fries but the flavor did not disappoint. Driving back to Sacramento from Mill Valley, we wanted to grab something for the drive home. We are so glad we found Bubbaloo!! I walked in to place an order to go. It had deli vibes, with some drink fridges on the side wall, the counter in front and a few tables to the side. The lady who took my order was super nice and helpful in the process. I noticed the have "famous" Thai tea. I see why, it was sooo good. I should have got the gallon to take home. I got the shaking beef plate, it came with rice and a huge salad. Their house dressing, creamy cilantro, was so good!! The beef was incredible, so soft and flavorful. I loved the veggies and crispy onions on top. 10/10 my 3yr old was distraught when the beef was gone my husband ordered the pastrami bacon sandwich on Dutch crunch which also came with a huge side salad. It was amazing! Loaded with meat, avocado on incredible thick bread. My husband said it's the best Dutch crunch bread he's ever had! we will absolutely be back!! read more

Breakfast burritos are ! Great breakfast spot. Burritos are huge and good bang for your buck. Quick service. Nice location right along the bay. Overall ambiance is great because it's next the water. Well, I've been corrected! They do have coffee drinks, a whole coffee bar. The listing is limited on the website and the Door Dash app. You have to go in to see the offerings or pull up a menu using a QR code. Oh well, so after the owner contacted me, I went back for a mocha. I got the Aztec mocha and it was quite good and spicy. If I need a fix, I will get one. Also, they have oat milk. It says a lot when a drink is good when it's made with alternative milks. I am definitely more excited about returning for loaded fries or a salad than I was before. Driving to the point is exhausting from here. Original post: I came here for a coffee drink and realized they only had one. It was way too sweet for my taste and only came with ice. They have some loaded fries which I could probably eat, however, I wish they had a regular coffee bar with regular coffee bar offerings. I hear the salads are good and I might try one of those as well. I did like it that I could order on DoorDash, however, originally the site said that they were closed. However, according to their website and the coworkers walking in with coffee drinks, they were clearly open. But this isn't their fault, I just know that I've pledged to bring coffee from home or find a coffee spot. If I forget my lunch, I can always get a loaded fries or a salad. read more

4.5 stars. Came here a dozen of times over the last 5 years and they have been consistently wonderful with friendly customer service (5 out of 5 stars) and good food (minus the occasional harder clumpy rice). Cannot go wrong with any of the items here. My faves include the shaken beef over rice with cilantro dressing for the salad, breakfast burrito (huge) and vietnamese iced coffee (runs pretty sweet as expected). The bubbaloo burger does come out tasting pretty healthy. Absolutely no grease. read more

I go to this place often since it's close to work. A coworker and I went on 03/20/23 for lunch and ordered a Caesar salad. I returned the first salad since I found a small clump of dirt in the lettuce. They offered to refund my money, but asked for another. They apologetically brought me another one and inspected it before eating it just in case. No dirt, but tons of bugs!! I lost my appetite and just threw the salad away. Ok so it was a lazy night and no one wanted to cook nor go out to eat! LOL We ordered the same as last time, but this time the hubs got the mushroom cheddar Philly and it did not disappoint! He added jalapeños to it as it doesn't have the usual peppers and it was sooooooo good! Btw, the bleu cheese burger has some type of kick (spicy) to it. Our kid loved it although they had to down 3 glasses of milk to tone down the spice lol Again, I ended up only eating half of my Philly cheese steak. I've lived here all my life and I've finally discovered this place. Where the hell have I been? This place has been around since 2015 and its 2023? I've definitely been sleeping under a rock. Visited this place couple days ago because I was craving a salad and when I yelped salads in the area, Bubbaloo cafe popped up and started reading the reviews. Decided to give it a try and the first thing I noticed was there was plenty of parking available. It is also located in a hidden like location with a beautiful water front of the Richmond, Marina behind it. Entered the Cafe, and the Cafe was clean and lots of yummy goodness on the menu. OMG, they have filipino breakfast plates here. You know how hard it is to find good filipino breakfast plates in Richmond or in the area? Normally you would have to go to SF or Oakland or Hercules to find some filipino breakfast plates, but Wow, impressive. They also had a variety of breakfast, brunch-type plates including sandwiches. Well it was lunchtime and was thinking "damn, filipino breakfast sounds really good right now, I'll just come back" but decided to come for the salad. Got greeted nicely so A+ on the customer service. I ended up getting a Cobb Salad and a 12 piece lumpia appetizer. Lumpia was pork filled, good color and great crunch. Came with sweet and sour sauce. Great price for 12 pieces and flavorful. Would Def get it again. The Cobb Salad was HUGE! Lots of flavor, had honey mustard dressing with mine. Definitely a salad for 2 people. And they did not go skimpy on the chicken. Lots of huge chicken bites along with eggs and avocado, bacon bites, and bleu cheese. Definitely filling, I couldn't even finish it but it was sooo damn good. I definitely got my protein fix in that salad. Oh yeah, didn't have to wait long to get my food. It was pretty darn fast. The next morning, i was starving and hungry, I had to try the Sisig filipino breakfast plate and their spinach and mushroom breakfast burrito from Bubbaloos. So i Doordashed, Bubbaloos, where I work closeby. I received it packed nicely with tape so it showed Doordash didn't tamper with it and the food was warm still. Came packed nicely and OMG, the burrito was huge. it was almost the size of my forearm (seen in my photo). The burrito definitely needs to be shared, great price, and very tasty. The mushrooms and spinach were flavorful and accompanied the eggs in the burrito nicely along with the hashbrown in the middle. Came with some yummy salsa as well for dipping. Would definitely get it again. After 1/2 of the burrito, (saved the other 1/2 to go) I made my way to the sisig breakfast plate. Came with garlic rice and tasty sisig pork meat with eggs cooked to my liking (over hard). Sisig was delicious and cooked well. Portion size was filling for one person. i would definitely get that sisig plate again. (photos shown). I'll definitely be coming here a lot and Doordashing from here again. Highly recommend this place. The only con I have is in the sisig plate, it came with "sliced" red onion and sliced jalapenos. I like my jalapenos and onions diced and mixed together in the pork like traditional Filipino sisig but that's just a minor adjustment. Still good though. I was excited to check this place out, they had good reviews and noticed it was right in-front of the marina. Even though all the food in the pictures looked bland I had high expectations. First they're not even facing the marina. Second I ordered the chicken n waffles and i wanna throw up thinking about the chicken, it was rubbery and bland it also came with eggs and the waffle was nothing special. The tables didn't have any condiments witch threw me off. I don't know how this place has so many good reviews but it was for sure terrible. Not coming back. read more

Super disappointed with our experience at Bubaloo this time around. We ordered fries as a side order, but what we got was honestly awful. They were soggy, cold, and tasted like they had been sitting around all day and then reheated in a microwave. Definitely not the fresh, hot, crispy fries we've come to expect from this place. We've had them before and they were always great, so I'm not sure what happened, different kitchen staff? Off day? Either way, it completely missed the mark and really took away from the whole meal. Looking at all the pictures of others Cobb salad and I wish mine would have looked like theirs. First, there was no dressing, ok that's fine, I can eat the salad with no dressing. But, the chicken looked like it was days old, very rubbery looking and did not taste good at all. The blue cheese crumbles had the worst taste ever. Very disappointing because when I first walked in, the place smelled great. I saw they had breakfast burritos and coffee. But I don't think I will be back to try any of it. read more

I've worked as a teacher at the high school next to Bubbaloo Cafe for the last three years, and I can confirm that this is a reliable and consistent cafe and restaurant that delivers on delicious American/Eastern style cuisines. The coffee is always fresh, and as a vegetarian, I'm a big fan of the tofu bahn mi sandwich, as well as the impossible meat burger. I work nearby and came today with a few coworkers. It's in a strange location but a great find. There is something for everyone here, from burgers to salads. Even though there is only one vegetarian option (portobello sandwich), you can ask for a veggie burger and they'll make it in any style you prefer. I had the grilled shrimp salad. I'm not much on salads but it was pretty good. I've had their burger and fries before, very good. I've had the banh mi sandwich before and that's also good. Bubbaloo Cafe is a brunch spot that's located in Marina Bay. They serve breakfast plates, sandwiches, and Vietnamese inspired rice plate dishes. The interior is cute, they have a whimsical mural of SF-Oakland Bay Bridge, and also paintings of the owners' two dogs: Bubba and Leeloo. Which the restaurant name is based upon. There's plenty of seating, a comfy couch, and patio seating available. The busiest hours are when it's lunch hour until closing. You could also take your food to-go, a minute walking distance away to the Marina Park, which has an incredible view of the water. Starters: -Loaded Fries: Cheddar bacon loaded fries with sour cream and aioli. The combination of all the ingredients go well together. It's more than an appetizer, with this alone, it is filling! -Chicken Wings: There's choices of BBQ, Buffalo, and Louisiana Spice. I opted for the one without sauce. The Louisiana Spice isn't spicy, so if you want the extra kick, I recommend buffalo. Sandwiches: -Blue Ribbon Chicken (Chicken Cordon Bleu): crispy tenderloin, melted Swiss, and smokey ham. This sandwich had a lot of flavor, chicken and ham go well together! I would order it again! -Bubbaloo Burger (Mushroom&Swiss): Burger was decent. A solid little cafe snuggled in an office park and next to a school out by the water in Richmond. Pretty relaxed environment, you order at the register and they call out your order. I opted for a cobb salad and it was solid. Not bougie, but topped with freshly grilled chicken (and a lot of it), bacon, eggs and the usual suspects. They gave ya bagged croutons, which I took a pass. I don't remember the exact price, but less than $10 and it was filling. People were ordering up their rice plates and sandwiches, and it all looked good and again, I'm pretty sure everything's under that $10 price tag.
