Small diner (like less than 10 tables inside) that feels homey with all the random decor that don't really make sense. The order came fast, but unfortunately, our hashbrowns we're not crispy how we requested. Also, their maple syrup didn't taste like anything. It was too watery. We ended up taking the French toast home for better syrup. The food was good but nothing memorable, esp for the prices.

But serving! Fluffy pancakes

Ok let's start with the amazing owner's customer service and warm welcome. This is a local cafe we found on Google. We had an hour to eat between my kid's game! Loved everything about here. Most important, the service we received added to the taste of the food. Will definitely come back here if in the area. Despite it was busy, they took care of every customer in a unique way! Love the fall decors, very family friendly!

My son was craving pancakes this morning, so we wandered into this little breakfast spot that was already buzzing early. Nothing fancy. Mismatched mugs, random photos on the walls but the kind of place where the staff knows everyone's order before they sit down. It felt like a movie scene. Different people, different stories, all crammed into this tiny room over coffee and eggs. It was chaotic, warm, and oddly comforting. Reminded me I still need to learn how to make pancakes, but until then, this place feels like home.

This is a small hidden gem, located is a cozy neighborhood. Service and food were 10/10. I will definitely be coming back. Loved how they have different styles of mugs as well as their wall art. This place has its own style and I am here for itn

Just a typical small diner. I went here for brunch with my family. We ordered a waffle with eggs and bacon, a grilled cheese sandwich with fries, and the McBryde omelette. Waffle, bacon, and eggs were pretty standard. The grilled cheese was kind of sad, with not much cheese. The omelette felt more like scrambled eggs laid on top off avocados and bacon. The servers were nice. I feel like we might have felt better about everything if we didn't have to wait 40 minutes after ordering to get our food. I'm not sure if the wait is always this long. A server said something to another table about phone orders and cooking for next door, so maybe next door had an event or something?

Down-to-earth, unpretentious eats. I planned on pancakes but then the waitress walked by with a chicken fried steak and it was love at first sight. Tasty coffee, crispy hash browns and genuinely friendly service too.

Love this place and the family who owns/runs it! Enjoy an easy going morning and get to know the staff here. Their potatoes are prepared fresh every morning and you can taste the difference. When I step inside, they make me feel at home because they already know my order (chicken omelet)

I have been hoping up try this place for a while after hearing good reviews. We came in around brunch time. There were only two other people inside but soon the whole place filled up. They only had one server so service was a little slow but she did let us know she had called for backup and a while later a second server came. I had the Tito's waffle without the bananas it was delicious. I debated getting a side of bacon because it was $5 but I relented and I am so glad I did that bacon was thick and so good and worth the price. My husband had the club sandwich with onion rings. I tried the sandwich it was very good and the onion rings were hot and good too. We will definitely come back here again.

Gluten free menu?

They do have Gluten-Free bread and the owner is knowledgeable about celiac... no GF pancakes I'm afraid but can get GF French toast.

Open by the weekend? hopefully for memorial day for sure!

When maps directed me to here, I was shocked. Stepped in there was 1 party so I said great its not busy. As we took a seat, I kept hearing the online ordering beeps while the nice young man was there checking them. Alan came around and handed us menus and since my little one is into chicken or country fried steak, its the first thing I asked him when he greeted us. Ordered the food and observed hes the only o ne cleaning tables, greeting, processing the online orders and waiting. Hes truly a star and is great at what he does. Food is fresh and delicious. Did not disappoint. Kudos to Alan

I…read morereviewed yelp to find something close that maybe we hadn't tried, and I found Mely's with the amazing rating of 4.3 stars. We've lived in Hercules for over 30 years and are creatures of habit, so it was nice to venture the 10-minute drive to San Pablo. We were not impressed by the exterior strip mall building, but the interior of Mely's is very cute, homey, and clean. (I even peeked into the kitchen since the door was open.) I wanted pancakes, but got waffles instead since W ordered the blueberry buttermilk stack. We both had a side of eggs, his scrambled and mine sunny side up. The eggs were delish; mine in particular was perfectly cooked with slightly crunchy edges, a beautiful, silky, runny yolk, and no uncooked whites. The blueberry pancakes are so good! Of course they are huge and I ate some of them in addition to my waffle. We could have split just the pancakes and been perfectly happy. They cook berries inside the homemade batter and top them with a house-made blueberry compote. Maple syrup and soft butter on the side. The waffles are crispy outside with a light, airy, center, dusted with powdered sugar and cinnamon. I had strawberries on the side (+$5 !!). Since I ate some of W's pancakes, we took half the waffles home. W had a drip coffee--no decalf available so I had the fresh-squeezed OJ. It was a large glass so I took half of that home, too. The coffee was nothing to rave about, but it was coffee. Service was friendly and efficient--there is only one cook and one server, and it seems several of us arrived at the same time on this Sunday morning. Overall a wonderful find that we will return to so we can explore more dishes. We saw omelets and Benedict's come out that looked amazing! Plus, I want to try the dinner menu, which also looked pretty amazing.

There are even games in the yard. A real surprise was the food. I had the avocado toast it was tasty, I would order it again. When I tasted the beef Philly I was ready to order one to go, but they had sold out. The rest of my friends had burgers, the vegetarian had fries, even the dog had a pup patty, and everyone enjoyed the food The music was almost too loud; however, because the stage is outside, it was not too uncomfortable. We heard two different bands. The loud music did make it hard to have a conversation. A word of warning that does not affect my rating: bees and yellow jackets are everywhere. There is nothing that the Backyard can do to keep these pests out of the yard.

The walkway to order your food is also stunning and, in the shade, so you don't have to worry about the sun hitting you. It's perfect for sitting down with family and friends to relax while you eat brunch. Not only that but the food was honestly amazing. Everything tasted fresh, high-quality, and homemade. The French Toast was perfectly fluffy and slightly crispy on the edges, the eggs were cooked exactly right, and the Chicken and Waffles were the perfect balance of crispy and flavorful. The brunch options were just as impressive; there was a great variety of food, generous portions, and it was beautifully presented. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the taste and the experience. I found myself looking around to see what other people ordered, and I had to stop myself from ordering more because of how good it all looked, but I did sneak in another Quesabirria into my order. I will most definitely be coming back to order more, and on an emptier stomach, so I can eat without stopping. The service here really stood out and made the whole experience even better. From the start, we were greeted with genuine smiles and were even generous enough to change our seating because the sun was hitting our faces. Our server, Arnold, was incredibly attentive without ever being overbearing. He checked in at just the right times, kept our drinks constantly refilled, and made sure everything came out exactly how we ordered it. They were also super knowledgeable about the menu, gave great recommendations, and were patient when we had questions. It didn't feel rushed at all. They really let us enjoy our time, which is exactly what you want from a brunch spot. He even gave us a French toast for the unfortunate sitting, and it was the best French toast I've ever had. What makes this place truly amazing is that, for it only being opened for 3 years, it's truly impressive how much they have accomplished and will definitely be coming back to further support this family business. 10/10

I decided to order the champions bowl, which came with chicken apple sausage, potatoes, cheese, over easy eggs, and toast over a bed of salad. I got the iced matcha latter and my daughter got a kids hot chocolate. Both come with a super detailed bear ice cube. The matcha latte is a matcha ice cub bear and the hot chocolate is a chocolate iced bear. The idea is that as you sip your drink and the normal ice cubes melt, your drink won't be diluted because you also have more of the drink flavor blending in at the same time. For the hot chocolate, the bear helped to cool down the overall drink which made it a perfect sipping temperature for my 3 year old. Overall, great brunch spot, would highly recommend!

The Good: * Friendly service at the counter and at the table, but there were some issues (see below). * Halal (حلال) *Veg-head friendly and gluten-free options are available * Their toum (garlic sauce) will surely keep the vampires at bay. * My Lamb Bowl was delicious and all the veggies tasted super fresh. *We came here to try their viral Knafeh Pancake and it did not disappoint. We were a little hesitant at the $20 price tag, but it was 100% worth it. Subtly sweet with rose water syrup and crunchy from the ghee toasted kataifi combined with the cheese and pancake bottom made this an irresistible treat. The Meh: * It's a busy place, and the interior only holds maybe twenty people at a time, so be prepared to wait to dine in. * Carissa felt like her chicken could've been on the grill for maybe an extra minute or so--not that it was undercooked, but it just needed a touch more texture. * Free street parking only, which can be difficult, but not impossible to find during busier days/times. The Ugly: * I realize they just reopened and might still be working out the kinks, but the staff bringing out the food seemed confused about which orders went where, despite a huge table number we were assigned, and my bowl was brought out a good ten minutes before Carissa's was--and that includes a snafu where they tried to bring out the same bowl (mine) twice! Conclusion: Overall, it was a tasty bite and well worth the schlep up from the South Bay to Albany. We're definitely bringing my sister the next time she visits. **Order at the counter, and food is brought out to your table.
