    Strawberry French toast ($13).
    DeAjuané J.

Golden Gate Bistro is a good place to have to have a great meal while being tucked away. During my most recent visit I celebrated a friend's birthday with some brunch on a Sunday morning. The outdoor seating areas were almost full and a live band played music in the background. Ordering was quick and easy. I ordered the Loaded Breakfast Potatoes (breakfast potatoes topped with ranchero sauce, cheddar cheese, scrambled eggs, avocado, sour cream and cilantro $16) I also added jalapeños to the potatoes, Strawberry French toast ($13), fresh squeezed orange juice ($7), and a 16oz hot chocolate ($3). My friend ordered the French toast combo with chicken apple sausage, two scrambled eggs and home potatoes ($21) and a fresh squeezed orange juice. I really enjoyed the Loaded potatoes! There was so much flavor in each bite. I usually get the French Toast combo which is always good, but I'm glad I tried something new because it was delicious. The fresh squeezed orange juice didn't have much flavor, but that's no Thor fault. My fried enjoyed their French toast combo as well. This was their first time at Golden Gate Bistro and they said they would come back. I will definitely be visiting again and bringing as many first time customers as I can.

Found this little gem after doing glass blowing nearby. What a find. On a sunny but cool day we sat outside, ate, and listened to a live cover band. There was a wide variety of items available. We split Brussels sprouts. A few were under cooked but the flavor was great. I had a crab Louie. It was pricey at $26. And could have used more crab but it was tasty. My friend had a beet salad which was also phenomenal. If I am ever in the area I would definitely eat here again.

    Short Rib Gnocchi

This review is for the short rib gnocchi which I've had twice here. The second time that I've ordered it, there was a large pool of oil and almost everything was submerged in the oil. The flavor is okay but I personally don't prefer arugula paired like this with the beef and gnocchi. I ordered this for pickup and the gnocchi became soggy after 30 minutes. They do give you a good amount of beef for the value of $23. I've also had their Seafood Diablo pasta before and that had a decent amount of seafood and was okay as well but that was over a year ago.

What a great accidental find. We were going to Curious Flora (formerly Annie's Annuals) and wanted to grab breakfast. We made a selection but arrived to find we were too early so revered back to Yelp for another selection nearby which led us to Golden Gate Bistro much to our delight! The food was great, the live music was a treat but the vibe was even better. What a friendly environment, full of what I assume were regulars, offering menu tips, enjoying the live entertainment and just enjoying life. We will definitely go back (and we live in Martinez)!! It's in the middle of industrial Richmond, I even thought we had made the wrong turn somewhere! Go have an adventure and plan to stay for awhile enjoying the experience!

The calamari was good. My Philly cheesesteak was delicious , it was cheesy and had more onions this time. The crab on toast was okay, I was a little disappointing, but it wasn't bad just crab on toast. Overall service was quick and I enjoyed the food. I'll go for something else next time

    Breakfast Sandwich

Buddy Day began here this morning. The outdoor seating was perfect. The breakfast sandwich hit the spot. The home fries were not just a plate filler, they were crunchy and tasty. What a hidden gem!

Garlic knots a perfect addition to any meal.

Every time I come back to the Bistro, their menu has expanded. The options are all mouth watering and the most inconvenient part of the experience is making a decision of what to eat. We had Garlic Knots, the roast beet salad, Short Rib Gnocchi and the Seafood Pasta Diablo. As always, it was all amazingly good. The salad was colorful and had plenty of roasted beets and avocado. The Gnocchi had a rich brown gravy and several nice slices of beef rib. The knots were a great addition to the meal, crunchy with a fun tomato dipping sauce. The pasta, though, was over the top with mussels, prawns and fish, it was the best. Craving for this dish would keep you up at night. The counter service is always friendly and I have never had a mistake with an order here. It was a rainy day, but they have an enclosure which keeps you warm while enjoying your meal. Beat Hole in the Wall ever, tucked away in an industrial area of Richmond. Totally worth the hunt.

I love the open seating and ordering up front, keeps the vibes very casual! There's a big selection of food, but I tried the crab toast (it was so good I could have eaten 2 orders). Came out in a timely manner. Definitely worth the visit :)

I drive past GG Bistro regularly whether heading to catch the ferry into the City or on a leisurely bike ride. Today, it was a beautiful winter day, warm and sunny, that got me outside. After bike riding for a couple of hours, I was a little hungry. The bistro was moderately busy, lots of people soaking up the sunshine. I ordered the beet salad figuring it would not feel like a lump in my belly when I rode back home. My beeper went off pretty quickly, my order did not take long at all. The salad was perfect - lots of beets and avocado on a bed of rocket lettuce, pearls of goat cheese and pumpkin seeds dressed in a light citrus dressing. I sat at a small table beside my bike, eating and taking in the industrial atmosphere of the neighborhood. The trees and vines have grown and matured since they first opened. One is the olive trees has been allowed to spread it's branches with minimal pruning and had a couple of bird feeders hanging on the branches, while others have taken on a topiary look, pruned into a spherical shape. The potted plants look nice and soften the edges of concrete. Great spot overall for a casual lunch!

Still love this place for its outdoor location and food (plus the Columbia store voucher). Watermelon salad was freshly made and hit the spot on a hot summer day when I wanted to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine while my kiddos are in camp. Arnold Palmer was refreshing and I like the variety of their menu. There is something for everyone. Service was friendly and quick.

    Hard to pick just one!

This place is a true hidden gem. My friends and I stumbled upon it via Yelp after a long hike in the nearby Wildcat Canyon Regional Park. The location is right off the highway. Parking is easy. I love the mostly outdoor seating (though there was some covered seating on the side of the building). And they had live music midday on Sunday! What a nice surprise. We all truly struggled with what to order among dozens of delicious sounding menu items. In fact, I couldn't pick just one thing so I got the chilaquiles and a side order of pancakes. Both were great. I also ordered a watermelon mimosa, which was nice. I wish I lived closer because if I did, this would be a regular weekend brunch spot. Great place to catch up with friends, great for a family meal and I think they allow dogs outside.

Really cute ambiance with the flowers and vines. Even the outdoor tables had fresh flower center pieces. I came here on a lunch break so I didn't totally get to order what I wanted but opted for something I thought would be quick- a blt (add onions) and fries and an Arnold Palmer. Pretty good! I would come here if I'm in the area again Just beware of limited parking. It's in a very industrial location.

I always wanted to try this place. Why did I wait so long?…read more Halal pizza intrigued me. A pizza and ice cream shop intrigued me. The name Q intrigued me--hopefully it's not associated with that other Q..... They have mediterranean food. So I guess they put some that on top of the pizza and YUMMM!!! Who knew lamb could be so good on pizza! I think it's like lamb kabob. Or is it lamb kebap? Or is it gyro? But it's gooooood! It's a good pizza. The strength is in the topping selection. You kinda just gotta go and check it out. Limited seating. Free parking on the street. Close to freeway. Easy walk to lots of other shops and services. Super friendly service. If you eat specially prepared food like halal for Muslim or other reasons, but you love pizza, this place is for you. He said all the meet is hand cut. I didn't check out the bathroom. I'll go back. It's already like my second favorite pizza around. Too bad they don't have gluten free GF for my wife allergic to gluten. My friends and I ordered a cheese pizza from Q'S Halal Pizza with lamb along with an order of…read morewings, and the food was not enjoyable. The pizza was rolled very thin, but there was almost zero rise in the crust at all: the crust was dense and not airy. If I were to guess, the pizza dough had probably been sitting out for far too long, leading to the dough being way over-proofed. The cubes of lamb topping the pizza had a strange sourness to it and were incredibly dry. Similarly, the wings were also overcooked and very dry, and didn't really have much flavor to them at all. At $33.99 for an X-Large pizza (before tax and tip), you might as well head over to June's pizza in West Oakland to get a pizza for the same price. This was seriously one of the most disappointing pizza's I've eaten in all of 2025.
