    Before Strawberry Pancake Combo
    Almaree D.

Extremely Disappointed -- Terrible Food & Worse Customer Service I've been coming here for months and have even brought family and friends because I genuinely wanted to support this business. But the past few visits, our orders have constantly been always mess ups, and today was honestly the last straw. How do you serve food looking like this and think it's acceptable? The quality was awful, the presentation was sloppy, and the whole meal was disappointing. When I asked for my order to be remade, they said "okay" and told me I could keep the food. So naturally, I waited assuming an entirely new order was being made... only for them to bring out ONE pancake. Seriously? What kind of customer service is that? It's frustrating because I've continuously supported this place and recommended it to others, just to be treated like this. Instead of properly accommodating a loyal customer, they handled the situation carelessly and made it seem like my complaint didn't matter at all. At this point, I honestly wouldn't recommend coming here. The service has gone downhill, the orders are constantly wrong, and management clearly doesn't care about fixing issues the right way. Completely ridiculous. Look at the before picture once I first started compared to now... like come now... absurd! Literally could've went to Denny's... smh!

    Breakfast burrito with potatoes

The service was was good and didn't take too long. My breakfast burrito was pretty good. I wish they would've put a little more sausage in it. The flavors would've been little bit better, but overall it was great and I was excessively full.

Stopped by for the first time and i was pleasantly surprised. The menu is impressive and I will definitely be back to try more items. great place, nice ambience and great food.

I admit that I'm VERY behind on leaving this review. I've been goin to Golden Gate Bistro for years, and even had them cater an event. Everything there is amazing! Soups are made in house, but some of the best sellers include the fried chicken sandwhich, fish tacos, and Philly cheesesteak. Everything hits hard. Nothing disappoints.

    Short Rib Gnocchi

This review is for the short rib gnocchi which I've had twice here. The second time that I've ordered it, there was a large pool of oil and almost everything was submerged in the oil. The flavor is okay but I personally don't prefer arugula paired like this with the beef and gnocchi. I ordered this for pickup and the gnocchi became soggy after 30 minutes. They do give you a good amount of beef for the value of $23. I've also had their Seafood Diablo pasta before and that had a decent amount of seafood and was okay as well but that was over a year ago.

Found this little gem after doing glass blowing nearby. What a find. On a sunny but cool day we sat outside, ate, and listened to a live cover band. There was a wide variety of items available. We split Brussels sprouts. A few were under cooked but the flavor was great. I had a crab Louie. It was pricey at $26. And could have used more crab but it was tasty. My friend had a beet salad which was also phenomenal. If I am ever in the area I would definitely eat here again.

What a great accidental find. We were going to Curious Flora (formerly Annie's Annuals) and wanted to grab breakfast. We made a selection but arrived to find we were too early so revered back to Yelp for another selection nearby which led us to Golden Gate Bistro much to our delight! The food was great, the live music was a treat but the vibe was even better. What a friendly environment, full of what I assume were regulars, offering menu tips, enjoying the live entertainment and just enjoying life. We will definitely go back (and we live in Martinez)!! It's in the middle of industrial Richmond, I even thought we had made the wrong turn somewhere! Go have an adventure and plan to stay for awhile enjoying the experience!

Really cute ambiance with the flowers and vines. Even the outdoor tables had fresh flower center pieces. I came here on a lunch break so I didn't totally get to order what I wanted but opted for something I thought would be quick- a blt (add onions) and fries and an Arnold Palmer. Pretty good! I would come here if I'm in the area again Just beware of limited parking. It's in a very industrial location.

    Strawberry French toast ($13).

Golden Gate Bistro is a good place to have to have a great meal while being tucked away. During my most recent visit I celebrated a friend's birthday with some brunch on a Sunday morning. The outdoor seating areas were almost full and a live band played music in the background. Ordering was quick and easy. I ordered the Loaded Breakfast Potatoes (breakfast potatoes topped with ranchero sauce, cheddar cheese, scrambled eggs, avocado, sour cream and cilantro $16) I also added jalapeños to the potatoes, Strawberry French toast ($13), fresh squeezed orange juice ($7), and a 16oz hot chocolate ($3). My friend ordered the French toast combo with chicken apple sausage, two scrambled eggs and home potatoes ($21) and a fresh squeezed orange juice. I really enjoyed the Loaded potatoes! There was so much flavor in each bite. I usually get the French Toast combo which is always good, but I'm glad I tried something new because it was delicious. The fresh squeezed orange juice didn't have much flavor, but that's no Thor fault. My fried enjoyed their French toast combo as well. This was their first time at Golden Gate Bistro and they said they would come back. I will definitely be visiting again and bringing as many first time customers as I can.

Garlic knots a perfect addition to any meal.
    Theresa R.

Every time I come back to the Bistro, their menu has expanded. The options are all mouth watering and the most inconvenient part of the experience is making a decision of what to eat. We had Garlic Knots, the roast beet salad, Short Rib Gnocchi and the Seafood Pasta Diablo. As always, it was all amazingly good. The salad was colorful and had plenty of roasted beets and avocado. The Gnocchi had a rich brown gravy and several nice slices of beef rib. The knots were a great addition to the meal, crunchy with a fun tomato dipping sauce. The pasta, though, was over the top with mussels, prawns and fish, it was the best. Craving for this dish would keep you up at night. The counter service is always friendly and I have never had a mistake with an order here. It was a rainy day, but they have an enclosure which keeps you warm while enjoying your meal. Beat Hole in the Wall ever, tucked away in an industrial area of Richmond. Totally worth the hunt.

    Jasmine S.

I love the open seating and ordering up front, keeps the vibes very casual! There's a big selection of food, but I tried the crab toast (it was so good I could have eaten 2 orders). Came out in a timely manner. Definitely worth the visit :)

    Beet salad

I drive past GG Bistro regularly whether heading to catch the ferry into the City or on a leisurely bike ride. Today, it was a beautiful winter day, warm and sunny, that got me outside. After bike riding for a couple of hours, I was a little hungry. The bistro was moderately busy, lots of people soaking up the sunshine. I ordered the beet salad figuring it would not feel like a lump in my belly when I rode back home. My beeper went off pretty quickly, my order did not take long at all. The salad was perfect - lots of beets and avocado on a bed of rocket lettuce, pearls of goat cheese and pumpkin seeds dressed in a light citrus dressing. I sat at a small table beside my bike, eating and taking in the industrial atmosphere of the neighborhood. The trees and vines have grown and matured since they first opened. One is the olive trees has been allowed to spread it's branches with minimal pruning and had a couple of bird feeders hanging on the branches, while others have taken on a topiary look, pruned into a spherical shape. The potted plants look nice and soften the edges of concrete. Great spot overall for a casual lunch!

We waited longer than we expected, but good thing they have many monitors so we watched the World Cup while waiting for our food. When the food came, they were an impressive sight. The burgers were loaded and dripping with grease. My son liked his Fat Boi, but I thought the Al Pastor in the Trompo was a bit bland. The Trompo was also so greasy that grease was running down my hand and forearm while I am eating it, and I can feel my arteries hardening already! The Highway Style fries were decent. A smash patty laid between two layers of fries and then topped with melted cheese. It was decadent but a guilty pleasure. The kids gave the place 7-7.5 out of 10 and they said they would come back. For myself, probably not as the food was just too heavy for me.

I had the Marina Burger. The idea of goat cheese sounded good...not on a burger, however...zero seasoning to either of our double patties, so adding whatever doesn't help...no discernible flavor other than overwhelming sloppy goat cheese. The bacon was rubbery...and interesting, also no flavor...bacon w/o flavor?! Ugh. Patties cooked fine...just nothing special. The onions were horrible - sloppy, overcooked...just unappealing. Now I ordered the garlic parm fries...these are horrid. ALL the parm and garlic was at the *bottom,* not a topping, nothing sticked to the fries.
