Quality cafe around the corner from a taproom. They have good breakfast and lunch selection. Indoor and outdoor seating. Food was really good and brought to our table after ordering at the counter. Indoor seating was good but there was a large group seated and it looked like a good work lunch space.

tuna salad - this pic doesn't do the food any justice.

Came in today for my first sit down meal here. It was an hour before closing and it was just me! Indoor & outdoor seating for dining. Ordered a crab sandwich; it came with a side salad. While I've loved things I've gotten here before (to go) this wasn't even close to wowing me. There was nothing special. It wasn't bad or anything but wasn't anything I'd come back for.

I stopped by last week for a quick lunch. I like that the menu has a wide selection and also like the display of food items. I ordered the chicken Philly sandwich and a blondie dessert bar... both the sandwich and the blondie were very good. Service was good. The lady taking the order was very nice and helpful. She was so welcoming as soon as I came in and had a good sense of humor. Ambiance of the place is good. It is located in a quiet area in Richmond. I would definitely stop by again if I am in the area and want a quick and fresh lunch.

Hidden Gem. I have driven by this place many times and finally decided to stop in for lunch on a Friday. Cute decor and there is inside and outside seating. Got there a little after 12 pm and it seemed pretty slow. There was one table finishing eating outside and one table occupied inside. There were a few people in line and I noticed there were a few pending orders. The staff was friendly. I ordered the crab sandwich and it comes with a side salad. The brioche bun was toasted which is a nice touch. The crab is mixed in a homemade aioli which was good. It was a little spicy which I liked. The vinaigrette for the salad was good as well. Overall, I really enjoyed my lunch and the atmosphere and plan to go back. Just surprised there weren't more people there.

Buttermilk Fried Chicken was on point.

How is the Lime-Jalapeno-Cilantro dressing and/or what salad(s) does it go well with? Is Asian-style, creamy, or just basic vinaigrette?

The lime jalapeño dressing is ranch based with fresh grilled jalapeño and cilantro added. Our Asian dressing is vinaigrette based

While I got the Keller Beach Chicken Burger was also so good the chicken in other places is usually pretty dry but here it was just as juicy with all fresh veggies to go with it was amazing. While yes there are no indoor seatings there are some outdoor seating with shade for a nice sunny day, listening to live music watching some others dance. There are even games in the yard. A real surprise was the food. I had the avocado toast it was tasty, I would order it again. When I tasted the beef Philly I was ready to order one to go, but they had sold out. The rest of my friends had burgers, the vegetarian had fries, even the dog had a pup patty, and everyone enjoyed the food The music was almost too loud; however, because the stage is outside, it was not too uncomfortable. We heard two different bands. The loud music did make it hard to have a conversation. A word of warning that does not affect my rating: bees and yellow jackets are everywhere. There is nothing that the Backyard can do to keep these pests out of the yard.

The dining area is spacious and bright with large windows. You order at the counter and get a number. The food is then brought to you. The menu is international. You can have American classics like burgers, and you also can have Asian rice plates (adobo, teriyaki, etc) as well as Mexican dishes. It is therefore great for groups of people who may have diverse palates. On our visit our group of 3 ordered pork chop rice plate, burger, and breakfast burritos. The portions were very generous, and the taste was on point. My pork chop was chunky and marinated well. The prices were reasonable for the amount of food we got.

Feb 26, 2025 3pm 3.8 stars…read more We stopped by for a Hot Pastrami and Swiss sandwich (we ended up with "The Point Richmond") and a coke. $19 and change. There is a learning curve. The sandwiches on the menu all have cute names like "The Point Richmond" and "The New York". That if nice except that- for example... if you want a Hot Pastrami with Swiss, you need to read every ingredient of every sandwich until you find "The Point Richmond". The menu lists it having hot pastrami though it doesn't have Swiss. We ordered that. The Point Richmond pastrami was warm. I was thinking it was just warm rather than hot because of, how you say...oh yeah.. Physics. The relitively smallish amount of meat ratio to cool moist vegetables and room temperature Dutch Crunch (Roll) bread couldn't possibly hold heat for more than the minute it took us to get to the outdoor seating. When I looked at the on-line ordering menu at home later. I read that if I want Pastrami and Swiss, I should have ordered The New York, as it has Pastrami (though not heated) and Swiss. I also found out you can order Extra Meat for $3.49 or Double Meat for $5.49. A first timer here would have no clue that they should order extra meat if they want a hot sandwich. The sandwich was fresh and enjoyable. The cashier and the deli person were friendly. It was nice to visit Pt. Richmond after these few years. I might go back and choose the Build Your Own option. "I'll have a Pastrami and Swiss please. Double meat, double Swiss cheese, with horseradish and sharp mustard on the side if you got em. On a Dutch Crunch roll. Heat that bad boy to the hilt please?"
