Over the years, my husband and I have treated each other with various cooking classes: thai curry, sushi, pasta, and more. So often, these type of cooking classes can be a fun activity, but it can be tricky to recreate any of these at home on your own. Most recently, my husband gifted me with a date night for a Chinese cooking class with Graceful Kitchen. And it was my favorite cooking class of everything we've taken -- not just because of Grace's teaching style but also because everything we learned felt like lessons we could easily take home. The class was taught in Grace's kitchen, which made it feel like we were just cooking at a friend's house. She was extremely patient with us, going through basic techniques with us and thoughtfully answering each of our questions. Grace even went through storage techniques and told us how to best re-heat the leftovers we were taking home. And best of all, the food tasted great! I would definitely recommend booking a cooking lesson with her!

This review is LONG overdue! My husband and I do not buy each other gifts for traditional holidays, we enjoying giving each other experiences! That said... for Valentine's Day this year instead of going out to dinner, my husband surprised me by booking Grace to come and cook for us, in our own home, in our pajamas! Grace was so incredibly professional, her meals were outstanding, and she provided my husband several options to choose from, and she knocked each dish out of the park. She even put the leftovers into our own Tupperware, and did not rush us during each course. My husband and I love to cook ourselves as well as explore new restaurants in the foodie capital of SF... and we both agreed we would rather have Grace cook for us than experience Michelin star restaurants - she is the real deal! Cannot wait to book our next experience with Grace :)

Entertainment- the fact that the live music band is on a boat in water is so cool and something I've never seen done indoors. They were very talented and I truly enjoyed the variety of genres they played as well. Food- we ordered their Tonga pupu platter, kalua pork sliders and coconut curry seafood. The food was delicious! Everything had tons of flavor and all the different proteins were cooked well. My favorite was the coconut calamari on the sampler. The variety of foods gave us so much to enjoy. Service- this is where it all goes left. For starters we had originally made a reservation for 8:45 however the day before they called to inform us they'd be closing early due to a private event (9:30 instead of 11)and if we were willing to come in at 8 instead. This was not a bother at all for us. Well it was to our unfortunate surprise that we noticed that our waited started to hover and even brought us the check at about 8:40....we literally still had tons of our food to eat and drinks not even halfway done. He came to our table excessively trying to collect the check when we still had plenty of time to enjoy our meal and the music. Plenty of tables still had guests so it's not like we were the last ones. When he wasn't at our table he was standing nearby making eye contact with my husband trying to figure out if we were ready to pay out. Completely ruined our otherwise really nice evening. Management- we were able to flag down the manager, Elle D., and explained what occurred during our dinner. She was very nice and apologetic and went out of her way to not only make us feel validated but made sure we ended on a good note. She was professional, nice, and took no time in remediating the situation. It's because of her and the wonderful food and entertainment that I'm giving the 3 starts because honestly it would've been an easy 5 if not for the waiter we got.

We had a large group, and I really appreciated that they accommodated us inside since it was a bit chilly that day. They seated us in the front area, which we loved. Everything we ordered from the appetizers, to the main dishes was packed with flavor. Nothing missed the mark. Truly one of the best brunch experiences in town! I had the chilaquiles along with a champagne drink that came with different juice options and fresh fruit such an adorable and fun presentation. My family couldn't stop raving about how delicious everything was, including the dessert. We arrived at about 1:00-1:30 and the inside main dining area was already closed to patrons as staff prepared for the evening service. The host's tone did not encourage potential customers to dine there during the transition to dinner prep. Not a great first impression that gave off a late arrival so you'll get what's leftover vibe which was exacerbated by being forgotten for what seemed to be a half hour before our waitperson came to take our order. We chose to sit in the front sidewalk patio which was cold and windy not an alternate choice we will need to make again. We ended up sitting across from two loud, self-centered, immature, foul-mouthed college grad girls bragging about studying for their masters attempting to appear cultured were distracting everyone on that patio. After we placed our order, we finished up the app and hubbs was furious they forgot about his glass of pinot which arrived without an apology for the delay preceding our plate arrivals. I had the ny strip steak on the breakfast menu which came out perfectly med-well & added cilantro rice which was good although a little sticky not fluffy. Hubbs had the salmon which looked amazing and he enjoyed the mango sauce--the dish just didn't fill him up. Good thing we ordered fresh chips, salsa& guac.--which was very well prepared; the freshest guac I've ever had. It had fresh chopped tomatoes & green chiles all perfectly combined. Our wait person/food server made up for the less than stellar first impression of the host. And the food was flavorful. The ambiance was ruined by the diners across from us and the forgetfulness of taking our orders timely and serving the wine after the appetizer couldn't bring us back from what started out as negative experience. There are many restaurants up & down the bay that we aren't bothered. This wasn't the best reception nor dining experience and we are moving on. We hope it's a lesson and possibly could've just been a bad day for the crew, and unfortunately there is so much competition out there. We highly recommend the food for its freshness and flavor; recommend the salmon dish for its flavor and balance but not for its portion size. And wish this place nothing but the best and to improve where they dropped the ball.

The whole space felt so authentic and immersive. I found $18 parking a little down the street at a nearby hotel (as long as you leave before midnight), which worked out perfectly. We ordered a few things to share--the hummus was really good, and the salad with lemon was super fresh and light. The kebabs were also delicious, though I didn't eat too many since I was in a nice dress and the tables were more Moroccan-style--low with bowls rather than full tables--so it wasn't the easiest to cut the meat. The atmosphere was lively and fun, with groups of people and even private rooms around the space. I was surprised it wasn't more crowded, but my friend stayed later and said it picked up as the night went on--they even had karaoke at one point! There was also a belly dancer, which added to the vibe, though I think having a more professional performer who connects better with the music would really elevate the experience. The hookah was a nice touch too--they give you your own tip so you're not sharing, and even though I don't normally do hookah, it just felt right for the setting. Overall, the food was great, the ambience was beautiful, and the crowd was good energy. I'd highly recommend this spot for a group event, a social night out, or even a fun date--it's definitely an experience you won't forget!

Lotsa interesting folks come up in here, and there's some daily regulars, a real mixed bag , fun people. I met a couple people that turned out to be my good friends for the last few years. Attached is a concert hall that has some pretty interesting live music acts and very diverse from hip hop to jazz to funk to rock and roll and that dark sider stuff, heavy metal, etc. They rent the whole joint out if you have a party or they rent sections as well. Great spot for wedding rehearsal dinners, high school reunions, company parties, etc. Stimulating conversation abounds and a lot of laughter bouncing off the walls. A great place to see sporting events, especially the Warriors. Very nice patio as well with big umbrellas and fire pit. I went to see the visual kei, Japanese rock band, JILUKA, here with my boyfriend and we lined up beforehand for VIP. The staff walked out, showed us the rules for the VIP that was printed on a piece of paper and explained it to us too, they walked down the line to scan us in as well. Venue itself is pretty neat. The front part is a bar area with lots of tables and seating and outdoor seating as well. Since it was before the concert, we were able to enjoy some food and drinks from the bar and kitchen. It was also during their Happy Hour too which was great. My boyfriend got a drink (not sure what it was, but it was refreshing and citrus tasting?) and we shared a Bavarian soft pretzel with mustard and we got the white cheddar dipping sauce added on for a nominal fee. One of the best pretzels that I've ever had! Deliciously soft interior, nice chew to the texture of the exterior. Comes out hot, warm and delicious. Great on it's own, but great with the sauces too. Perfect dash of the coarse salts on it. I'd get this again for sure and would like to one day order more from their menu. The live house music area is in the back in a separate room. Restrooms were clean too. Enough space for the bands to sell their merch and do a meet and greet. Wasn't a huge venue and insane turn out, but it fit the crowd and I liked how intimate setting was. I was around 3-4 rows from the front and even with a mosh pit and wall of death, I was able to shift around and see the band more clearly. Easy visibility no matter where I was shifted around. Lighting was pretty good and made it easy to take pictures and video. I think the vocals were a bit more muffled than the rest of the band members playing, but that might just be the set up more than anything. Of all the venues I stopped by for the week, this had the most approachable and friendly staff. Greeted going and as we were leaving too. I didn't overheat at this one either, so the AC was A+!! There's paid parking nearby but if you read the signs and go around, you can get free street parking too. Bring more J-rock/over seas acts here, it was so good!
