Entertainment- the fact that the live music band is on a boat in water is so cool and something I've never seen done indoors. They were very talented and I truly enjoyed the variety of genres they played as well. Food- we ordered their Tonga pupu platter, kalua pork sliders and coconut curry seafood. The food was delicious! Everything had tons of flavor and all the different proteins were cooked well. My favorite was the coconut calamari on the sampler. The variety of foods gave us so much to enjoy. Service- this is where it all goes left. For starters we had originally made a reservation for 8:45 however the day before they called to inform us they'd be closing early due to a private event (9:30 instead of 11)and if we were willing to come in at 8 instead. This was not a bother at all for us. Well it was to our unfortunate surprise that we noticed that our waited started to hover and even brought us the check at about 8:40....we literally still had tons of our food to eat and drinks not even halfway done. He came to our table excessively trying to collect the check when we still had plenty of time to enjoy our meal and the music. Plenty of tables still had guests so it's not like we were the last ones. When he wasn't at our table he was standing nearby making eye contact with my husband trying to figure out if we were ready to pay out. Completely ruined our otherwise really nice evening. Management- we were able to flag down the manager, Elle D., and explained what occurred during our dinner. She was very nice and apologetic and went out of her way to not only make us feel validated but made sure we ended on a good note. She was professional, nice, and took no time in remediating the situation. It's because of her and the wonderful food and entertainment that I'm giving the 3 starts because honestly it would've been an easy 5 if not for the waiter we got.

There always seems to be some kind of upbeat musical entertainment going on when go there. Last week we had a college graduation party for our youngest daughter. We opted to have Wise Girls cater for us. The food was ready on time. It was delicious and the guests loved it. We will definitely be going to Wise Girls again and use them again for our catering in their area. Thank you again Wise Girls for such a great job and taking a huge amount of stress off of us. Good thing we ordered fresh chips, salsa& guac.--which was very well prepared; the freshest guac I've ever had. It had fresh chopped tomatoes & green chiles all perfectly combined. Our wait person/food server made up for the less than stellar first impression of the host. And the food was flavorful. The ambiance was ruined by the diners across from us and the forgetfulness of taking our orders timely and serving the wine after the appetizer couldn't bring us back from what started out as negative experience. There are many restaurants up & down the bay that we aren't bothered. This wasn't the best reception nor dining experience and we are moving on. We hope it's a lesson and possibly could've just been a bad day for the crew, and unfortunately there is so much competition out there. We highly recommend the food for its freshness and flavor; recommend the salmon dish for its flavor and balance but not for its portion size. This venue is essentially standing room only, but we emailed ahead of time for ADA accommodations and seating for grandparents (check the website under 'Frequently Asked Questions' for direct email). There's parking in downtown Mill Valley..we parked around the corner and walked around window shopping pre-show. There's also other cool eateries and drinking holes to enjoy downtown too. In the venue itself there is a bar that served both great Bloody Mary's and mocktail options too. Fun staff and the show was equally as cool + interactive. There were nice Grateful Dead handkerchiefs for sale, and all in all, honestly would return for a kiddo or (adult) show. They had a final closing party this past Saturday, and we knew we had to stop by for few last drinks and bites. It was low key kinda sad as we had to say goodbye to some of our favorites. Over the years (past decade or so now) we've gotten to know the staff and this spot has been a spot where we knew we'd get great service, good convos, and of course tasty wings, totchos, and $1 oysters on Thursdays. Shout out to Matt, Tracy, Jeremy, and their entire team for the amazing hospitality over the years. Paina closing is a reminder that it's important to not take your favorite restaurants/bars for granted because you never know when that final day will eventually come and when it does it comes way too fast. I hope the team reads this as I just want to say THANK YOU for everything and that you will be missed. The memories and moments I've gotten to enjoy here over the years won't be forgotten!

I went to see the visual kei, Japanese rock band, JILUKA, here with my boyfriend and we lined up beforehand for VIP. The staff walked out, showed us the rules for the VIP that was printed on a piece of paper and explained it to us too, they walked down the line to scan us in as well. Venue itself is pretty neat. The front part is a bar area with lots of tables and seating and outdoor seating as well. Since it was before the concert, we were able to enjoy some food and drinks from the bar and kitchen. It was also during their Happy Hour too which was great. My boyfriend got a drink (not sure what it was, but it was refreshing and citrus tasting?) and we shared a Bavarian soft pretzel with mustard and we got the white cheddar dipping sauce added on for a nominal fee. One of the best pretzels that I've ever had! Deliciously soft interior, nice chew to the texture of the exterior. Comes out hot, warm and delicious. Great on it's own, but great with the sauces too. Perfect dash of the coarse salts on it. I'd get this again for sure and would like to one day order more from their menu. The live house music area is in the back in a separate room. Restrooms were clean too. Enough space for the bands to sell their merch and do a meet and greet. Wasn't a huge venue and insane turn out, but it fit the crowd and I liked how intimate setting was. I was around 3-4 rows from the front and even with a mosh pit and wall of death, I was able to shift around and see the band more clearly. Easy visibility no matter where I was shifted around. Lighting was pretty good and made it easy to take pictures and video. I think the vocals were a bit more muffled than the rest of the band members playing, but that might just be the set up more than anything. Of all the venues I stopped by for the week, this had the most approachable and friendly staff. Greeted going and as we were leaving too. I didn't overheat at this one either, so the AC was A+!! There's paid parking nearby but if you read the signs and go around, you can get free street parking too. Bring more J-rock/over seas acts here, it was so good!

They have two separate drink menus for both levels and they also recheck ID for entering the lower level. Music here is always on point. They do a great job of mixing it up from classic bay area, to classic hip-hop and RNB and then back to current hip-hop and RNB. Drinks are usually hit or miss but bartenders, at least the lower level ones, are gorgeous babes. Of course I'll be back, even if I gave it and average rating it's still a good spot like I previously mentioned.
