First time going. My husband heard about the crab sandwiches and he was very happy. He really enjoyed it. I ordered pasta. It was mediocre. As was the potato skins. The waitress was very attentive and nice. The bus boy was rude. I loved how they kept this restaurant old school look. The views of the ocean are beautiful too. There is parking too.
Dropped by for lunch when we were visiting the area. We were seated fast and the service was very friendly. The portions are large but so are the menu prices. The food was decent buy i don't feel they justified the overly high prices. The interior had s nice view of the ocean and there was ample parking.
It's been a while since I've been to Nick's Rockaway, but I chose to stop by today for some dinner and am so glad I did! I was greeted right away with a smile and sat by the bar area. Ordered the open-face crab sandwich (half sandwich with fried pickles), a cup of clam chowder, and a pineapple martini. Everything was fabulous and tasted absolutely tasty. The server checked on me regularly to see how the food tasted and if I needed anything else. Between the good food, excellent service, and the nice view right in front of the ocean, it was a perfect visit!
A seafood, brunch restaurant right along the coast with its own private parking? Lounge area, dance floor, bar seating, booth seating, tables, full on entrees, breakfast, and lots of options? Sign me up! I got your most basic sausage and cheddar omelette and it did not disappoint! Ample cheese, ample sausage! Toast was great, but very buttery, so beware if you don't eat butter. Friends wanted to sub their sides for biscuits and gravy, and server said she would ask. Any alterations we wanted (extra hollandaise sauce, no bell peppers, etc.) we asked for, our server was kind and showed no annoyance at all, which was greatly appreciated. Coffees are great, drinks are great, and pricing is decent. Went in on a Sunday, got seated in the lounge immediately for a group of 5. I'll be back here for sure if I'm ever in the area!
First time trying this place. Been wanting to try their famous crab sandwich. They sell their sandwich market price & I like that it was packed with so much crab. Their ingredients was very straight forward and simple. I also really liked their lobster ravioli. It was super creamy & fresh. The server we had was very nice. She was very attentive to our table. Incredible food amazing views and a fun spot with lots of history. We were house hunting today and wanted to eat somewhere in the same zip as the house. It was so good! Real crab, real sourdough and pretty good bloody Mary's also I can say the fries were hand made and the brekkie potatoes had all the goodies in them. Onions and peppers. You just don't get food like that anymore. Keep going my friends!
THE BIGGEST CRAB SANDWICH EVER!!!! Oh my god there is so much crab I hate to think how many crabs gave up their lives for this sandwich. The bread is THICK!! this crab sandwich is a STACK!!! Oh God. It was incredible. SO much crab. Have you ever have to crab sandwiches at the Giants stadium? You could fit 6 of those skinny crab sandwiches into the SINGULAR nicks Rockaway full size crab sandwich. I promise you if you are a normal person with a normal appetite the half sandwich is PLENTY. If you are like me, a monster, then you must get the full. My date got the lobster and it honestly blew me away how delicious and buttery and soft it was. All lobster I've ever had has been chewy and tough and unpleasant but now I get it. Spend a lovely hike and walk at mori point and then afterwards please go demolish a crab sandwich at Nick's rockaway
Heard good things about Nick's seafood and finally had a chance to try it on Saturday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is right next to the Pacifica beach...very busy, which is a good sign as food is usually quite fresh at a busy spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We walked in without reservations on a Saturday afternoon. The hostess was friendly and told us it'll be a 15-minute wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While we waited, we grabbed a drink at the bar and watched the FIFA World Cup Bronze Final, which had 10 goals in total![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] By the time our table was ready, we asked if we can stay in the bar area to finish watching the game. They're very accommodating and seated us by the window next to the TV. After we sat down, we ordered: Fish & Chips 28.95, Crab Sandwich 44.95...MUST Add Avocado & Cheese $5.75, Onion Rings, Another round of cocktails, and Pistachio cookie with vanilla ice cream $11. Food was delicious. While we liked the crab sandwich, I could see how it might be a bit bland without the optional avocado and cheese, which we added on. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They keep the TV volume low as they have music in the 50s playing throughout the restaurant and bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This's probably a good place for events such as weddings as they have a dance floor and a stage.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All in all, excellence all around from service to food to location. Tasty, friendly, and very beachy. We were visiting the area and wanted a bite to eat with a good view, well Nick's has that in spades. There was a slight wait to get a table, but we got a drink while we waited. I got the Alfredo shrimp with a side salad and my friend got the crab sandwich. It was all so delicious with good portions. My only concern was the friendliness. Our server was amazing, but everyone else we encountered, a bit stand offish. I might go back and might not.
I vaguely remembered this location from years ago (pre-covid). But I dont remember ever ordering their crab sandwich, so when I was in the area, I decided to go inside. Orders: Cup of clam chowder 1/2 sandwich of their crab sandwich with fries Total: $46.65 (without tip) I will start of with how huge this sandwich is - it is a large slab of grilled sourdough! The dungenness crav with tomato is a huge heap that you might want to have a knife and fork to help you through this. The fries are thick cut and fresh from the fryer. The clam chowder soup... I didnt take a picture of only because I dug right in. There was a good portion of clam, and I love how it doesn't taste watered down like in some areas. It was pretty creamy and I would definitely order again. Definitely stop by and try it out. J saw people walk in and sit, read a book by the window (i assume they came by early for the spot!). I am tempted to try their crab fettuccine alfredo next time or their fettuccine shell feast.
I've frequented Nick's since my HS days and it hasn't changed much, except that it is busier now than then. If you want to avoid the crowds, then a weekday is best but still worth the wait on the weekend. They also have an employee outside now who ensures the parking spots stay open for people dining at the restaurant versus visiting the beach. Because it's right on the ocean, you can enjoy a nice stroll outside while waiting for your table or after your meal. The inside is pretty outdated but clean. The servers have always been very nice and attentive, no matter how busy it gets. I always get the crab sandwich, of course, which you can get in a half or full. I also get the yummy bread and their dessert is also delicious. I do wish they had the baked potato available during their lunch hours, but the fries are great too.

I've been eating here since 2012. My parents had their first date here in the 80s. This place has been here for almost 100yrs you bet they have their recipes down. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They remodeled after a tidal wave in the 50s so the space has a high end 50s feel. Definitely a time warp.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is comforting and absolutely delicious. Today we ordered the garlic bread with clam chowder, lamb chops, and oyster rockafellers. Paired with a bottle of Risling. Our taste buds are in heaven! I've never had a bad meal here. I'm going to bring my future kids here so they can keep on the legacy. Love this place. Highly recommended. read more
I was a little skeptical about a restaurant at a motel, but looking through reviews and pictures, why not? I made reservations for Father's Day, which is highly recommended. I mean this place was PACKED, which speaks volumes. We were able to wait at the bar until our table was ready. Since it was Father's Day, we waited a little while after our reservations. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat in the main area, which was bright and comfortable at a booth.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Now to the food: -Clam chowder in a bread bowl: 5/5 It was so comforting, hearty and piping hot. There was a good amount of clam in there. -Lobster ravioli: 5/5 Creamy, savory and seasoned right. -Crab sandwich: 5/5 A hefty sandwich with soft, buttery bread. A lot of people ordered this popular dish. -Chicken tender and fries: Kid seemed to like it haha House salad: 5/5 Big portion with lots of toppings Drinks: 5/5 We really enjoyed our meal here and the service. Yesterday we enjoyed Nick's at Rockaway Beach. The reservation process was seamless, the parking lot attendant was cordial, and parking was near instant (customers self-park). [[HIGHLIGHT]]The greeters were pleasant, with seating also instant, with some view of the Pacific Ocean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were a party of three (my wife, her cousin, and I). We all ordered the open-faced crab sandwich with clam chowder. All items were totally on point (well prepared, delicious, and on point). The oysters on the half shell were tasty too. No cocktails; we opted for soft drinks. The service was attentive, and we lacked for nothing. My only observation was the bill came to over $320 with tip for three sandwiches (I have eaten at higher-end places many times, but fine dining has gotten a bit pricey). [[HIGHLIGHT]]With rights to stroll on the beach after the meal if you wish, part of what you get is the experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Still, I recommend Nick's for a very special meal with folks you care about. Visited on a Saturday night with 4 friends, restaurant was quite busy around 6:45pm with a 45min wait for a table when we checked with the host so added our names to the wait-list. We decided to do drinks and snacks in the lounge which was first come first served. After about a 40 min wait our table was ready and we were seated for dinner. Drinks: Hot Buttered Rum - a special cocktail for the season, this was very tasty, definitely sweet and dessert like but felt well balanced not too boozey, served warm with whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon Food: Garlic Bread - came with 8 pieces, sourdough had a nice light tangy flavor, nice crust and was nice and buttery with a subtle garlic flavor wish there was a bit more of a garlic punch but solid appetizer Potato Skins - came with 3 halves loaded with melted cheddar cheese, scallions, and bacon bits, served with ranch and sour cream which made for a nice cool creamy contrast Clam chowder - pretty good, came piping hot, nice creamy texture that was rich and not too thick, generous amount of clams and potatoes, well seamed with nice clam flavor throughout Dungeness Crab Sandwich - so good, great griddled slice of sourdough bread, crab was lightly seasoned with a subtle sweetness and a hint of salinity from the ocean, felt like a generous portion for our whole sandwich that I shared with a friend, server asked if we wanted garlic butter for dipping which we did get, was tasty but preferred the sandwich in its own, garlic butter was fairly mild with lots of sweet roasted garlic flavor Sauteed Prawns- 6 large prawns that were perfectly cooked, nice light bouncy texture, mashed potatoes paired nicely with this since the sauce was buttery and garlic forward, grilled veggies on this were fairly standard Service was excellent our server was warm friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and specials for our seated dinner. Staff had great recommendations and was really on top of getting everyone what they needed throughout the meal. Team brought out all the condiments without us needing to ask including garlic butter for dipping the sandwiches, and ketchup for the fries. Water was refilled throughout our meal overall attentive and great service. Had a wonderful evening at Nick's, loved the old school charm of this place, the stage in the lounge with a live band o. The Saturday night we visited was amazing. Food we ordered was tasty and well prepared. Would definitely come back to Nick's for a festive evening and delicious seafood. read more

The customer service was impeccable! The dinner and view was so beautiful! Perfect day to go! The sunsets are amazing right from your dinner seat! Crab sandwich was 10/10! Clam chowder was so good! Calamari was really good too! My father in law had the lobster tail and steak! Again' 10/10! The skirt steak was awesome!! I definitely recommend this restaurant and will be back! Oh! Mud pie was delicious!!! Fish and chips awesome! Can't say anything bad!! Love this place! read more

Mixed review . The calamari was chewy small portion for the price , cocktail sauce tasted like ketchup . The steamed clams had no flavor and were very very rubbery not good . The garlic bread was good lots of garlic . The crab sandwich was very good . The rum runners were strong and good . The service was ok , our waitress left after our food got there . She said she was off . No one checked to see if we needed anything else and had to ask for our check . Overall not good for the price . Would not go back . read more

If you are looking for the best Dungeness Crab Sandwich, Nick's is the place to go. The toasty, buttery, generously portioned Dungeness crab sandwich is to die for. Simple yet perfect at the same time. The diner itself is clean and casual. Great views of the Pacific Ocean from the windows. Service is good. Not much to complain about. Prices are on the high side but for the quality of food, I can splurge a little for a good meal and a great location. read more

Wow! Been coming here for years on our mini vacays to Pacifica. Nicks is always a must. Best drinks and food is great. We had the chowder of course and then the prime rib. Delicious. Our server was amazing. Unfortunately didn't get her name. She was a spunky blond lady who was good at her craft. She was knowledgeable, kind, not pushy, and polite. Everything you want from a server. Showed up just when you needed her. Friendly but not over staying her time. Just a great time. Wish I remembered her name. Always recommend. read more
Moody Sunday at noon, 2 for lunch. Attentive staff welcomed us and found just the right dining spot. Clam chowder to start, so delicious. Onion rings appetizer. Half crab sandwich with fries. I love Nick's! It is located in a premium spot, right next to the ocean. Food is decent. Great cocktails and drinks. Nice bar area, lounge tables with a view. I've been here during the day but I see that they have a stage and live bands. This looks fun for a future visit. There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant. My mom and stepdad celebrated their 31st wedding annivesary at Nicks during the Independence Day weekend. Nicks is one of their favorite places to eat. They live in Yountville now, so the trip was definitely a momentous occasion. Nicks is an old-school seafood joint that seems to cater to a lto of regulars. I got the sense that many of the folks that were dining, we from Pacifica or very close. I like that. Anyway, my folks ate their both Saturday and Sunday evening and invited me to join. I am so glad that I did. The food excellent. On Night 1 I had the fish & chips. I think this is a house specialty and it was very good. Light, not greasy with big portions. Oh, yeah. On Night 2 I had the spaghetti with meatballs. Another good choice on this guy's part. I asked for "al dente" and got "al dente". WOOOH!!!! A good old-fashioned that Dean Martin would love. Others dishes ordered my the folks: crab sandwich, fried prawns, bucket of clams and shrimp & fries. I got a taste of their dishes and everything was excellent. A tip of the cap to our served Armando who was very attentive and accommodating. He deserves an "attaboy" from the top brass. And finally, a big thank-you to the manager who allowed us to stow away my stepdad's walker. He's a little slow in getting around and they were vey patient. Everyone was so helpful and gracious. Visited this place on a recommendation from one of my employees and so glad we came here. The ambiance is amazing right on the water and with fantastic views of the water and cliffs. The service was spectacular and we enjoyed the entire time with our server Jim the whole time. Now for the food was delicious and full of flavor and tremendous. The lobster was cooked perfectly and had good seasoning. The prime rib was good and overall cooked perfectly and could have a little more seasoning but overall the entire experience was awesome! Definitely a must try if you are in the area. The following day we also had breakfast as we learned they had a good breakfast and brunch and it was great as well! Will certainly be back! read more
Amazing amazing amazing! Wow, we had the most amazing time today Valentine's Day dinner was so delicious. We first tried the clam chowder, which was the best I have ever had! Then we tried the crabcakes which were downright delicious. I had the filet mignon with a baked potato, and that was really good and tasty and tender. My husband had the lobster and sirloin, and he said it was really good as well. We definitely had an amazing awesome time in Pacifica and Nick's really just came through for us. The service was amazing and the restaurant is super old-school cool. We really enjoyed the bar and live music as well. I LOVED coming to nicks! Even though it's a little to the pricey side it is totally worth it cuz the service is AMAZING and the food is great aswell! I always stop at this parking lot on the way home from the beach just to take in the beautiful view--but until now, I'd never caught the restaurant open. I happened to swing by around 5:30 PM on a Friday night and was thrilled to see it packed (always a good sign!). I let them know I was ordering to-go, and even though they were gearing up for their dance night event and the place was buzzing, service was fast and friendly. I'm obsessed with crab cakes, but they're often a letdown. Not here! These crab cakes were amazing--packed with real crab meat and not overly bready. Easily some of the best I've had. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu since I'm often in the area. And now that they've passed the crab cake test, I've got high hopes for everything else! read more

Great energy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Bar staff were busy but were able to be friendly and helpful. Clam chowder was delicious. Wasn't heavy on any specific ingredient. Their famous crab sandwich was good. Really enjoyed Nick's for lunch on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The crab sandwich is delicious and a generous portion size. We also ordered the potato skins which were tasty and large enough that we brought two home. Service was very friendly. I'll definitely be back when I'm craving some crab. read more

It's plain as day as soon as you walk to in. I see it every time I go there--green right behind the host stand. Pretty hard to miss!
I am having a wedding reception at Nick's Restaurant. I am really concerned about the kind of job they will do. Has anyone had a wedding reception at this location? How did it go?
All the banquets/ big events there are amazing ! Always more then enough food and great tasting . Workers are attentive , nice and always willing to help .
