Yesterday we enjoyed Nick's at Rockaway Beach. The reservation process was seamless, the parking lot attendant was cordial, and parking was near instant (customers self-park). The greeters were pleasant, with seating also instant, with some view of the Pacific Ocean. We were a party of three (my wife, her cousin, and I). We all ordered the open-faced crab sandwich with clam chowder. All items were totally on point (well prepared, delicious, and on point). The oysters on the half shell were tasty too. No cocktails; we opted for soft drinks. The service was attentive, and we lacked for nothing. My only observation was the bill came to over $320 with tip for three sandwiches (I have eaten at higher-end places many times, but fine dining has gotten a bit pricey). With rights to stroll on the beach after the meal if you wish, part of what you get is the experience. Still, I recommend Nick's for a very special meal with folks you care about. We went to this place very soon after a 4 mile hike very close to the restaurant and my partner wanted sea food specifically and being hungry motivating us both. We waked into a large dark wood ala refurbished 1970s interior restaurant with plenty of half circle booths, large tables for groups and bar and dace floor that seems to be available for live music. We came on what looked like and felt like a locals regular night full of families and well dressed seniors. I hate being seated by a busser station or kitchen listening to the noise or the staff thinking they can talk crap about customers because they are stacking dishes or running a credit card but that is exactly what happened. Being hangery (hungry-angry) makes us change our dining standards. This being said we had to listen to the young staff's complaining. My partner ordered and received a large seafood salad and I ordered fish and chips. My food tasted like a large refrigerator Orida fish patty that was fried and large slices of potatoes that came out of the same oil. Being from the San Francisco bay area I compare all my sea food to that and have to say that I was greatly disappointed with the lack of taste even though I see that it was "handmade beer batter" dish. Unfortunately, I dont have too many positive things to say about this place except it is a good place to cure hugry. read more

Sign me up! I got your most basic sausage and cheddar omelette and it did not disappoint! Ample cheese, ample sausage! Toast was great, but very buttery, so beware if you don't eat butter. Friends wanted to sub their sides for biscuits and gravy, and server said she would ask. Any alterations we wanted (extra hollandaise sauce, no bell peppers, etc.) we asked for, our server was kind and showed no annoyance at all, which was greatly appreciated. Tasty, friendly, and very beachy. We were visiting the area and wanted a bite to eat with a good view, well Nick's has that in spades. Orders: Cup of clam chowder 1/2 sandwich of their crab sandwich with fries Total: $46.65 (without tip) I will start of with how huge this sandwich is - it is a large slab of grilled sourdough! The dungenness crav with tomato is a huge heap that you might want to have a knife and fork to help you through this. The fries are thick cut and fresh from the fryer. The clam chowder soup... I didnt take a picture of only because I dug right in. There was a good portion of clam, and I love how it doesn't taste watered down like in some areas. I've frequented Nick's since my HS days and it hasn't changed much, except that it is busier now than then. If you want to avoid the crowds, then a weekday is best but still worth the wait on the weekend. They also have an employee outside now who ensures the parking spots stay open for people dining at the restaurant versus visiting the beach. Because it's right on the ocean, you can enjoy a nice stroll outside while waiting for your table or after your meal. The inside is pretty outdated but clean. The servers have always been very nice and attentive, no matter how busy it gets. I always get the crab sandwich, of course, which you can get in a half or full. I also get the yummy bread and their dessert is also delicious. I do wish they had the baked potato available during their lunch hours, but the fries are great too. read more

Visited on a Saturday night with 4 friends, restaurant was quite busy around 6:45pm with a 45min wait for a table when we checked with the host so added our names to the wait-list. We decided to do drinks and snacks in the lounge which was first come first served. After about a 40 min wait our table was ready and we were seated for dinner. Staff had great recommendations and was really on top of getting everyone what they needed throughout the meal. Team brought out all the condiments without us needing to ask including garlic butter for dipping the sandwiches, and ketchup for the fries. You are going for a special view of the Pacific Ocean. It isn't a high dining experience, but there is good food and good service. It is pricy, but you will be treated well and have a good meal. Visited this place on a recommendation from one of my employees and so glad we came here. The ambiance is amazing right on the water and with fantastic views of the water and cliffs. The service was spectacular and we enjoyed the entire time with our server Jim the whole time. Now for the food was delicious and full of flavor and tremendous. The lobster was cooked perfectly and had good seasoning. The prime rib was good and overall cooked perfectly and could have a little more seasoning but overall the entire experience was awesome! Amazing amazing amazing! Wow, we had the most amazing time today Valentine's Day dinner was so delicious. We first tried the clam chowder, which was the best I have ever had! Then we tried the crabcakes which were downright delicious. I had the filet mignon with a baked potato, and that was really good and tasty and tender. My husband had the lobster and sirloin, and he said it was really good as well. We definitely had an amazing awesome time in Pacifica and Nick's really just came through for us. The service was amazing and the restaurant is super old-school cool. We really enjoyed the bar and live music as well. What really can be said about this place that hasn't already been said? I guess I'm just confirming what every else is saying. Nicks has been around since 1927, and from the moment you walk in and until you leave, you feel like you've stepped into some roaring 20's class. Walk into the bar/lounge area and you'll probably hear Frank Sinatra playing on the radio. There's a stage where bands play in the evenings. Food here is on the pricier side, but using my usual standard of, "Is the juice worth the squeeze?" Yes, Nicks is worth every penny. I think the first time I ate here I had pasta, and this time I had the crab sandwich (pictured) What makes the meal so good? Generous portions of crab, between 2 thick slices of quality sourdough, toasted to perfect and buttered. Even the fries are done with some skill, tasting like they had been sliced, par boiled, then fried in duck fat. We also had the garlic bread (that uses the same sourdough) and a shrimp cocktail. Overall service was OK. Wasn't stellar, but it was crowded so I can understand some delay. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area and love old school seafood and pasta. read more

My mom and stepdad celebrated their 31st wedding annivesary at Nicks during the Independence Day weekend. Nicks is one of their favorite places to eat. They live in Yountville now, so the trip was definitely a momentous occasion. Nicks is an old-school seafood joint that seems to cater to a lto of regulars. I got the sense that many of the folks that were dining, we from Pacifica or very close. I like that. Anyway, my folks ate their both Saturday and Sunday evening and invited me to join. I am so glad that I did. The food excellent. On Night 1 I had the fish & chips. I think this is a house specialty and it was very good. Light, not greasy with big portions. Oh, yeah. On Night 2 I had the spaghetti with meatballs. Another good choice on this guy's part. I asked for "al dente" and got "al dente". WOOOH!!!! A good old-fashioned that Dean Martin would love. Others dishes ordered my the folks: crab sandwich, fried prawns, bucket of clams and shrimp & fries. I got a taste of their dishes and everything was excellent. A tip of the cap to our served Armando who was very attentive and accommodating. He deserves an "attaboy" from the top brass. And finally, a big thank-you to the manager who allowed us to stow away my stepdad's walker. He's a little slow in getting around and they were vey patient. Everyone was so helpful and gracious. Wow! This was such a great find. We were out in pacific picking up trash on the beach and this spot came up with great reviews about their crab sandwiches. They have their own parking lot so parking is not an issue. The space is huge and we were seated within 10 mins without reservations just be for the lunch rush. The staff was on point from the moment we pulled in to park with warm greetings. The service kept our glasses full. The food was delicious and the amount of crab was an abundance. The classic seating of high booths and regular customers who seemed to know how special this place is. The ambience is good for family gatherings, meeting friends or enjoying the view of the coast out the window. Everyone enjoyed their meals from 9 years old to 70 years old. So very disappointing. On our coastal trip we chose Nicks for lunch. Fantastic location and don't mind the old supper club building, it's cool. We chose fish and chips and fish tacos. When my fish and chips arrives I was thrilled. My eyes were pleased with these two big chunky pieces of fish. But when I took my first bite my mouth was full of a big wad of breading. It wasn't tempura. It was almost like the coating for a corn dog. The giant chunky piece of fish was not fish. It was 95% breading. The fish was a tiny thin white paper thin filet. It was the same fish on my husbands tacos too. And this place isn't cheap. Over $25 each. I've included a picture of all the breading. No way it was something you wanted to eat. Really disappointing. There as about 1/2 cup of fish when all said and done. The 2 stars are for the kind servers and great location. read more

I always stop at this parking lot on the way home from the beach just to take in the beautiful view--but until now, I'd never caught the restaurant open. I happened to swing by around 5:30 PM on a Friday night and was thrilled to see it packed (always a good sign!). I let them know I was ordering to-go, and even though they were gearing up for their dance night event and the place was buzzing, service was fast and friendly. I'm obsessed with crab cakes, but they're often a letdown. Not here! These crab cakes were amazing--packed with real crab meat and not overly bready. Easily some of the best I've had. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu since I'm often in the area. And now that they've passed the crab cake test, I've got high hopes for everything else! read more

I came to Nicks for a reception after someone dear to me passed away. The food was set up and everyone lined up to get food while entrees were served to them and you could grab your own salad and fruit. It was set up really nice and I love that it is on the water. You have beautiful views of the ocean and white tablecloths on all of the tables. Great experience under the circumstances. read more

if you're looking for a good food with fresh seafood and a good view, this is the spot! my father in law brought my fiancé and i to this location and i was able to soak in the beautiful view of the sunset while enjoying delicious food! my go to is always the clam chowder , especially when it's cold! it's creamy, flavorful, and there's an abundance amount of clam. i also really enjoyed the garlic bread that's made by order. i'm not a huge garlic bread fan but this one, i would make an exception for. it was soft, warm and there's fresh garlic really made it hard to resist eating more! i was almost full by the time the clam chowder came. we ordered the calamari as well, crispy and had a nice chew to it. i forgot to take a picture of their world famous crab sandwich but it's definitely something you NEED to get when you're here! they even offer pickle fries which were just sliced pickles that have been fried. the crab is fresh , not fishy, and super filling! we ordered a full sandwich and split it in two but even then we were so full after a few bites ! the sandwich is packed with crab! we also added some avocado which paired so nicely with the tomato and crab! would definitely come again! i would suggest making reservations and being mindful that it seems like parking is limited in their lot. read more

Nicks is an institution within Pacifica, well known for their crab sandwich among other seafood items and their prime location - perfectly situated to allow for exploring the trails, beaches, shops and piers of Pacifica. I'll admit - I have never had the pleasure of dining in as I only discovered it during COVID and began my journey by taking orders to go. My mom, daughter husband and I went to Nicks today for Mother's Day. The food was amazing, the atmosphere chill and the service was OUTSTANDING !!
