    Crab sandwich
    Kristine S.

Came here to try a new spot. The chowder was delicious. Creamy and full of ingredients. Crab sandwich was good and full of crab meat. It was definitely pricey. Service is good. Bit of a wait to get seated. But the view while you wait is breathtaking. Can't wait to go back.

We found this place to go to after a nearby hike in Pacifica and it was pretty good! I got the fish tacos and we also tried their garlic bread. I enjoyed the fish tacos--everything seemed very fresh. I did however remember having to add quite a bit of season for my preference, so I thought it could have had more flavor overall. The garlic bread was tasty as well, I definitely could have eaten a lot more if it before my entree came! Parking can be tough to find in this area, but if you eat here, you get free parking included. I will say I do think this was a bit overpriced, but that's also somewhat to be expected in this area.

I have always wsnted to try this restaurant!! First because of the nostalgia and srcond because its by the ocean! Its like walking into time! We had breakfast with an ocean giew and it was great!! Jessica was very sweet and attentive! The music playing was Frank Sinatra and I almost felt like were in a Vegas except near the ocean! I definitely want to back for dinner!

I was a little skeptical about a restaurant at a motel, but looking through reviews and pictures, why not? I made reservations for Father's Day, which is highly recommended. I mean this place was PACKED, which speaks volumes. We were able to wait at the bar until our table was ready. Since it was Father's Day, we waited a little while after our reservations. The interior matched the beach vibe. There are 2 areas -- one in the main dining area and the. The stage area by the bar. We sat in the main area, which was bright and comfortable at a booth. Now to the food: -Clam chowder in a bread bowl: 5/5 It was so comforting, hearty and piping hot. There was a good amount of clam in there. -Lobster ravioli: 5/5 Creamy, savory and seasoned right. -Crab sandwich: 5/5 A hefty sandwich with soft, buttery bread. A lot of people ordered this popular dish. -Chicken tender and fries: Kid seemed to like it haha House salad: 5/5 Big portion with lots of toppings Drinks: 5/5 We really enjoyed our meal here and the service. It was busy and we waited a bit for the food, but it wasn't unreasonable. We enjoyed our visit and looking forward to coming back!

A fantastic restaurant blending the old and the new, with a view of the beach. The food was absolutely delicious--the clam chowder comes highly recommended, and the mimosas were a perfect choice. The servers were incredibly friendly and efficient!

How did I not know about this place? I can't believe I have been missing out for years. An easy drive from SF for lunch in Fogust . We had to try the crab sandwich and clam chowder after reading about them and I'm so glad we did. The clam chowder was great and the crab sandwich was amazing! Thank god we shared one because it was BIG - a lot of crab on lovely soft, grilled sourdough with a great little salad on the side. My photos really don't do it justice. The basil vinaigrette was delicious on the salad. The waiter we had was great. Old school type of place. Large dining room and a separate bar area where there is live music at night. The bar itself was filled up with people eating and (day) drinking! The sandwich was pricy but we definitely felt like we got our moneys worth. Can't wait to go back for another lunch.

Yesterday we enjoyed Nick's at Rockaway Beach. The reservation process was seamless, the parking lot attendant was cordial, and parking was near instant (customers self-park). The greeters were pleasant, with seating also instant, with some view of the Pacific Ocean. We were a party of three (my wife, her cousin, and I). We all ordered the open-faced crab sandwich with clam chowder. All items were totally on point (well prepared, delicious, and on point). The oysters on the half shell were tasty too. No cocktails; we opted for soft drinks. The service was attentive, and we lacked for nothing. My only observation was the bill came to over $320 with tip for three sandwiches (I have eaten at higher-end places many times, but fine dining has gotten a bit pricey). With rights to stroll on the beach after the meal if you wish, part of what you get is the experience. Still, I recommend Nick's for a very special meal with folks you care about. (Bring a jacket if you spend any time outside. )

I needed to check it out for myself if this place has the best crab sandwich in the bay. I love the location, right next to the water. This place has been here for decades and is very charming! We got seated right by the window and had a great view. We started with some crispy calamari... they were made perfect without an overbearing amount of batter. Their tartar sauce was sssooo good! We ordered the classic crab sandwich and fish and chips-- and ended up sharing our food! Half of a crab sandwich was more than enough for me. The sourdough was toasted to perfect with a light amount of butter. The crab was fresh and had a good amount. My first bite was delicious but a friend had told me to order a side of garlic butter-- I added that and that was the game changer! So good! The fish and chips were delicious too-- two huge pieces of fish. Overall, I really liked this place and I'd recommend it. Definitely top three for best crab sandwiches in SF!

A seafood, brunch restaurant right along the coast with its own private parking? Lounge area, dance floor, bar seating, booth seating, tables, full on entrees, breakfast, and lots of options? Sign me up! I got your most basic sausage and cheddar omelette and it did not disappoint! Ample cheese, ample sausage! Toast was great, but very buttery, so beware if you don't eat butter. Friends wanted to sub their sides for biscuits and gravy, and server said she would ask. Any alterations we wanted (extra hollandaise sauce, no bell peppers, etc.) we asked for, our server was kind and showed no annoyance at all, which was greatly appreciated. Coffees are great, drinks are great, and pricing is decent. Went in on a Sunday, got seated in the lounge immediately for a group of 5. I'll be back here for sure if I'm ever in the area!

It's been a while since I've been to Nick's Rockaway, but I chose to stop by today for some dinner and am so glad I did! I was greeted right away with a smile and sat by the bar area. Ordered the open-face crab sandwich (half sandwich with fried pickles), a cup of clam chowder, and a pineapple martini. Everything was fabulous and tasted absolutely tasty. The server checked on me regularly to see how the food tasted and if I needed anything else. Between the good food, excellent service, and the nice view right in front of the ocean, it was a perfect visit!

Dropped by for lunch when we were visiting the area. We were seated fast and the service was very friendly. The portions are large but so are the menu prices. The food was decent buy i don't feel they justified the overly high prices. The interior had s nice view of the ocean and there was ample parking.

First time going. My husband heard about the crab sandwiches and he was very happy. He really enjoyed it. I ordered pasta. It was mediocre. As was the potato skins. The waitress was very attentive and nice. The bus boy was rude. I loved how they kept this restaurant old school look. The views of the ocean are beautiful too. There is parking too.

Honey putting lemon on the worth the wait oyster rockafellers. You literally lick the shells clean. My favorite.

I've been eating here since 2012. My parents had their first date here in the 80s. This place has been here for almost 100yrs you bet they have their recipes down. They remodeled after a tidal wave in the 50s so the space has a high end 50s feel. Definitely a time warp. The food is comforting and absolutely delicious. Today we ordered the garlic bread with clam chowder, lamb chops, and oyster rockafellers. Paired with a bottle of Risling. Our taste buds are in heaven! I've never had a bad meal here. I'm going to bring my future kids here so they can keep on the legacy. Love this place. Highly recommended.

That's a great question. However, I do not know. Give them a call. They're very nice.

    Do they take reservations?

    Yes!

    Is there a corkage fee?

I don't know. Best to call & find out.

Is the outdoor seating suitable for dinner?

I’m pretty sure there is no outdoor seating. If there was, the answer would be no, too cold & windy.

Will you be making Chopino today?

I believe it is a weekend special (depending on availability)

    Are you taking reservations?

    Yes!

    Is there a kids' menu?

    Yes

Why is there no health score posted?

It's plain as day as soon as you walk to in. I see it every time I go there--green right behind the host stand. Pretty hard to miss!

I am having a wedding reception at Nick's Restaurant. I am really concerned about the kind of job they will do. Has anyone had a wedding reception at this location? How did it go?

All the banquets/ big events there are amazing ! Always more then enough food and great tasting . Workers are attentive , nice and always willing to help .

I was initially going for an espresso martini, but I saw After Hours which consisted of Tequila Reposado, Espresso Liquor 43, Coconut and Milk Wash and ofc I had to get that... All I can say is WOW!! Not a lot of people were there, so it was a relaxing environment to talk to them in. We got so many drinks -- they're typical prices for bars, but I am very glad about my selection being drinks I thoroughly enjoyed. Jarrito Jam was my first one, it was delicious, but I honestly bought it to hold the little clay pot it came in. Nutty By Nature was my second drink. I enjoyed it, but it lacked the pistachio aspect of the flavorings. Orange Crush was my third drink and I loved it more than Nutty By Nature. My spouse got a Tiki Track and Tropicana and loved both of them a lot! I also loved my spouse's Tropicana drink and plan on getting it tonight when we go back to get my wallet I left there!
