There aren't too many bars that serve unique cocktails in the Peninsula, but my friends and I were lucky to visit Nick & Nora, which is conveniently close to us for nights we don't want to travel too far in to San Francisco. The vibes are very chill, with a couple of booths for groups and seats at the bar. It's a bit dark inside, so it will take awhile for your eyes to adjust to the dim lighting. Some nights there will be DJ's playing, and sometimes it can be quite loud where it's hard to have a conversation with people. The bartenders are welcoming and friendly to every customer. I ordered the Silk Road, and it automatically became my favorite drink to order there every time I visit. It's not spirit forward and it's satisfying to drink. I have tried Pink Skies which is a close second depending on what I'm feeling. I do hope they can do a little rotational menu of their cocktails eventually so I can try something new, and also some little appetizers to accommodate the drinks

Nick & Nora is a relatively new cocktail bar in Daly City near the top of the hill. I visited for their happy hour (daily 5pm-6pm) which included $3 off everything. I originally thought it started at 4pm but the bartender corrected me, so the website is incorrect. There is a long bar counter as well as small and big tables throughout the entirety of the interior. ASTA'S ANOMALY ($14) - this was really easy to drink and is the perfect spring or summer sipper. NAKED AND FAMOUS ($14) - this is one of the classic equal-parts cocktails similar to the last word. It was smokey from the mezcal and slightly bitter from the aperol. It usually doesn't have orange bitters but I thought it worked well in the drink. PALOMA CALIENTE ($14) - this was your typical paloma with a spicy twist from the firewater bitters. If you like spicy drinks you'll like this drink. NICK'S NIGHTCAP ($16) - this drink had big smokey flavors from the laphroaig. This is a great drink if you're a fan of peaty scotch flavors. NEGRONI ($15) - I watched them make this drink and it looked like it was pre-made in a bottle and then stirred for dilution. It was a solid negroni but I think the volume was a little less than I would've liked. ESPRESSO MARTINI ($14) - this was your typical espresso martini and was good too. I liked this place so much that I came here with a group of six the day after and I had a good time again. Shoutout to my bartender Michelle who made sure I was taken care of both times that I visited. The drinks were great for a good price and this place is a nice addition to the area.

While browsing new bars to visit on a weekday through Yelp, I stumbled upon Nick and Nora, and I'm thrilled that we decided to give it a try. We indulged in an espresso martini, dirty martini, pink skies, and the Silk Road. Each a delightful handcrafted cocktail presented in a pretty cup with pretty garnishes. The drinks were expertly mixed, providing a satisfying experience. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was incredibly welcoming. Guiding me through drink selections based on my preferences. The ambiance has dim lighting. There's seating at the bar, in booths, and at tables. I'm eager to return on a DJ night to soak in a lively night. I'm happy that Nick and Nora have made their mark here.

You're drinking and having a great time at a bar in the city so you keep the cocktails coming. Then, the bill comes. And, your eyes pop out of their sockets...$21 for ONE martini before tax, mandates, and tip... At a casual neighborhood bar where I'm sitting outside next to a 6 year old sipping a shirley temple from a cartoon plastic cup. Welp, that sobered me up STAT and had me rethinking my life choices. Until I found Nick & Nora on Yelp. Four craft cocktails, fernet, and a soda = $54 (pre-tax and tip) during HAPPY HOUR! I did a double take to make sure there wasn't a "1" missing from the total cuz those beer goggles have fooled me plenty of times. It really pays to drive a little further south to Daly City. Then, you can hit up nearby Jollibee's or Fil-Am afterwards for drunchies! Nick & Nora is such an unlikely find at Top of the Hill Daly City - a swanky cocktail bar and lounge inspired by the 1930's movie, The Slim Man. M E N U Beer ($6-$8), Wine ($11-$17/glass), and Craft Cocktails ($13-$16). Happy Hour is 3 PM - 6 PM. I forgot to ask so not sure how much drinks are discounted. D R I N K S * Fernet Neat: https://tinyurl.com/2fhk9w2k Was feeling kinda ehhh before I arriving at Nick & Nora's and the fernet (Italian bitter digestif) cured that nausea in no time. * Hendrick's Gibson: https://tinyurl.com/2np5tx7a For some reason, it's so hard to find a bar that makes a Gibson these days (I've been told by several bars that they don't have pickled onions) so I was surprised they did here. Excellently crafted - strong and smooth (not too heavy on the vermouth) with the pickled onions adding a savory, tangy bite. Another round, please! S E R V I C E Mike, was the lone bartender that day we visited. Super nice guy and makes great cocktails. He offered water to Tater Tot and gave us Cheez-It to munch on - thank you! A M B I A N C E Dim and swanky with modern-vintage décor. Mix of bar, high-tops, booth, and banquette seating. Nick, Nora, and Asta (the dog) are pictured at the bar, along with two TVs for watching the game. 80s music playing. Reminds me of the bars that you'll find in SoMa or FiDi. P A R K I N G Metered and residential parking. Overall, Nick & Nora is such a great addition to Daly City. Def worth the quick drive from the city for craft cocktails!

I am officially sold. This place used to be a dive, but they've invested a good amount in here to make it friendly, cozy, and modern. The walls have been redone, the lighting is new, and the fixtures are all new. There's a super long bar area and plenty of booths and counters as well. Service is great, and their happy hour is $3 off everything. Honestly, it's kind of a steal, and you get to bring in food from neighboring restaurants. We were here on a Friday night and it wasn't super packed. You could still talk to your friends and watch whatever was playing through their regular broadcast networks. Will be back!

Came here with some friends on Saturday night. Nice place to hang out with if you guys like to sit and chill ! Came here with some friends. Ordered some drinks and it was amazing ! Service..... well, the guy bartender was always on his phone, he seemed new ? We told him our drinks 3 times and he keeps forgetting. Then he went back to be on his phone again. We came back for more drinks but he was too focused on his phone that we just stood there for awhile... the girl bartender had to take our drinks and she told us she'll bring it to our table. Yeahhhh....... So the place is cool, drinks are great, bartender seems to not want to help us...

We went on a Friday night, where they had a very loud band playing in the middle of the restaurant. It seemed the only people enjoying the music were the band members themselves. I mean that with no disrespect, there were the people located next to the band that were covering their ears, outwardly! There were people sitting outside, and as they came inside to leave, I jokingly said they must be from up north, as the outside temperature was 55 degrees with a light drizzle. They stated the only reason they ate outside was because they couldn't hear anything due to the band. It's an extremely loud band and a closed space so the music really echo. Unfortunately there is minimal weight staff. I believe that they spent the money on more servers rather than a band, it would be the best business move. Our server came to get our drink and food order, and then didn't come back until it was time to drop off the check. We had a runner come deliver our food, and they forgot the side salad. But by the time our waitress came, we were ready to leave, so we just asked them to take it off the bill. My mom's patty melt was OK, the meat was very thin compared to the slice of bread. My Long Island with also not great. It tasted like a well drink. I would've given 5 stars if the waitress was able to check in on us after we got our food, if the patty melt had better proportions, and my cocktail tasted a little more flavorful.,

This wine bar is hidden from plain view and tucked away in the Excelsior/Outer Mission. Some friends and I discovered this little gem while looking for a place to have a nightcap. Sippin' Wine Bar is located on the second floor of the Bottoms Up Bar, but the vibe is totally different. Not sure if the two bars are actually affiliated, but they are like night and day. The stairs leading up to the bar are lit up and the interior of the bar is just absolutely gorgeous! It's spacious and low lit with an extremely sexy ambience. The decor is just out of this world! They have the cutest tables and sofas. The lamps and artwork are very unique but visually appealing, and the tables are set with candles that create a very sensual vibe. There's a small but adorable little patio where you can relax and get some air. The interior designer deserves a pat on the back AND a few glasses of wine (wink wink). Speaking of wine, they have tons and tons of it! Their selection is extensive and they make it really obvious with all of their lovely wine bottles that are on display. I really enjoyed their Angeline Pinot Noir as well as the Kungfu Girl Riesling. They serve food here as well. We had just come from dinner, but a few of us who shall remain nameless (cough cough) were still hangry and ordered garlic noodles, garlic fries, and tater tots. Yep, somebody's breath was stankin' but it wasn't mine! Although I didn't try any of the food, It smelled wonderful. There was no food left behind, so I'm assuming that it was delicious! The owner Shirley was fantastic! She happily hosted our group and let us sample several different wines from her collection. She mingled with us as well and talked about the business. The bar is still relatively new and opened a little over 2 years ago, so she is still trying to generate more business. I'm hoping that more people will frequent this place because I really enjoyed it and would love to see it stick around. So glad we stumbled upon this spot, and I'm looking forward to many more future visits.
