The view's amazing the service was ok I got the fish and chips they were mostly oily batter hardly and fish inside, didn't care for the French fries. My aunt got the crab Louie salad it didn't taste great it was just an ok experience. I liked the old pictures of the bay area.

This is a nice place for beach side dining. There's an outdoor area with heat lamps, and there are great views inside too. The service was good, and the food is decent. One thing missing from their menu is lobster roll, which I thought was a staple at all Half Moon Bay restaurants. What we ordered: + Fish & Chips - this was our favorite of what we ordered. The fish was light and the batter was crispy. The fries were delicious too. + Mahi Mahi fish tacos - these were not bad, but a bit too saucy. There's salsa and some other sauce, and then the slaw had a lot of vinegar. So the whole thing kinda fell apart. However, the fish was good. + Clam chowder - pretty good... I prefer mine not as thick and salty, but it had good clam flavor. + Bread basket (complimentary but worth a mention) - crusty bread with a soft center was so good.

We were happy to get seated right away on Valentine's Day, but I think we figured out why there wasn't a wait. The service was okay until we were randomly given a "Birthday Ice Cream with Candle," which turned out to be a $3 charge we didn't ask for. Food-wise: Chilled Oysters: 3/5 Grilled Oysters: 3/5 Crab Melt: 3/5 Clam Chowder: 2/5 Seafood Paella: 1/5 Low ratings were really due to pricing. The prices felt a bit high for the quality, it definitely feels like you're paying for the view more than the food.

This time ordered the cheeseburger & fries, with a Caesar Salad sub blue cheese dressing - not disappointed. This is what I need to order when I come here next time :-)

This oceanfront spot on Miramar Beach is a semi-hidden gem that feels like stumbling onto a little slice of coastal magic. With waves crashing just steps away and a sunset view that looks like it was painted just for you on clear evenings, the atmosphere alone is worth the visit. They don't take reservations, and happy hour pricing is only honored at the bar apparently, but sitting at the bar ended up being one of the best parts of the evening. The bartender was a genuinely kind gentleman who made the experience feel personal and unhurried. There's also a great selection of beers on tap, perfect for settling in and watching the sky turn gold and cheering with strangers while watching football. Our table was put together fast. The food was beautifully presented, with rich flavors and meats that were incredibly tender. Most of the appetizers aren't really designed for large groups. They are better suited for sharing on a date night or with a smaller party (5 or less) but everything we tried was thoughtfully crafted and delicious. We did run into a small challenge with allergy accommodations, but the staff worked through it and made sure everything was safe and enjoyable in the end. Creme brule could have just a bit longer crisping. So mouthwatering though! Between the warm service, standout dishes, and unbeatable views, this place captures everything wonderful about Miramar Beach dining. A breezy, romantic spot well worth seeking out.

After my lemon drop, which was very tasty, we tried fish tacos, plus a cheese burger and clams. We all found our lunches delicious. We are visiting my sister who lives in San Carlos, and has for more than 40 yrs. She often visits you & your cuisine for certain occasions or just any time they feel like it. It's always great to see the ocean, waves coming in or out and just breathing fresh air, we were raised in San Mateo & went to Half Moon Bay quite often through high school, etc. Thank you for the delightful lunch & atmosphere and sharing your view with people who appreciate it.

We have eaten at Miramar Beach Restaurant quite a few times, but this is my first review. We had a great group lunch for 59 people. Also nice that there is a parking lot for parking. I had the Linguine with Clams and Shrimps which the 4 star is my rating. The dish was very tasty and garlicky. Lots of clams and 3 shrimps with slice of garlic bread. Reviews from those I sat with were mixed for their dish. The Salmon Bake was dry. The Roasted Turkey was too salty to eat and my friend said she could only eat the side dishes on the turkey plate and left the turkey untouched. The Grilled Flat Iron Steak received pretty good reviews from people that ordered it. We also started with appetizers of Deep Fried Calamari and Garlic Cheese Bread; both were excellent. Our meal also included Caesar Salad served family style and dessert was Apple Pie Ala Mode. The service for our large party was excellent! We had a table near the window so it was a magnificent view of the ocean coast.

Great spot right on the beach. Been coming here for years. Food is good, drinks are strong, and there's a great view. There's also a great piano player inside who is a lot of fun. There is happy hour on weekdays in the afternoon at the bar. Go for a walk, stop at Miramar, and have a great time. A gem in HMB. NOTE: the street is a very busy one way street right on the beach - be careful and park the street before or in their parking lot.

    Calamari - DONT GET IT!

1 star for the calamari - the most bland calamari you will ever experience - do not order!!! We have complained to the servers and online - the calamari used to be so good - and now it is not!!

3.5 stars rounding up. I admit I would never have come here if we weren't staying at an Airbnb an easy walk away. This place, and the surrounding neighborhood, seem like a little oasis / eddy stuck in their own time and place. This is the kind of place that when I was a young lad I would have considered this super fancy! Dark wood paneling, a piano player, a classic menu, ahhhh. As an old geezer I appreciate the "classic" vibe :) The food here was solid classic as well, we split a Caesar salad, my partner got linguini with seafood, and I got crab ravioli, and we also splurged on a bottle of Prosecco, which would have impressed the younger me. And then bread pudding for dessert. The classics, all done pretty well, and of course with a great view of the shore.

We went for bunch today and it was amazing! There were four of us . I had the fish and chips , we also hit the crab Louie , crab melt and huevos rancheros. We even added a salad with blacken prawns to share. Everything was scrumptious! Crispy yet light batter on my fish. Pawns were perfectly cooked. A healthy portion of crab on the salad , perfectly cooked eggs. I also enjoyed my cucumber margarita!!

What a great lunch we had at Miramar! We had a group of 59 dine at Miramar and it did not disappoint. We feasted on cheesy bread, fried calamari, turkey, salmon, flat iron steak and clams and shrimp linguini. My salmon was very tender and cooked just right. The cheesy bread was delicious and the fried calamari had a lot of tentacles which we love. The most popular dish was the clams and shrimp linguini. The flat iron steak came sliced whereas I prefer it whole. We polished it off with apple pie Ala mode. A perfect way to end the meal.

Cheers to a long day at work ending.

Was driving through the area around dinner time and saw the sign for beach front restaurant off hwy 1 and decided that would be a perfect stop. There's plenty of parking right by the beach in what seems like a private neighborhood area with beach entrance and path to walk along the beach. The restaurant is large with a wrap around bar and outside seating. I sat at the bar where I had a nice view of the ocean. There were old black and white pictures of the bay area all over including ones of the bridge being built and of the original Cliff House. I didn't realize until I was leaving and saw the sign that this is a historic restaurant. For food/ drinks I started with a cosmo, it was pretty good, I have no complaints, it was nothing special but they usually never are lol! I then got the fish tacos they were really good! I also got the Chichi, that was a specialty drink of theirs that was a blended drink with coconut, pineapple and I forgot what else but it was delicious! Highly recommend that. This whole place had an overall great vibe. The staff seemed friendly and like they all got along and enjoyed being there. Everyone pitched in to help each customer too, it wasn't like that's your server or that's your bartender no one can or will help you like in other places. I really enjoyed it here and came wait to go back snd bring friends and family.

Miramar Beach Restaurant Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Miramar Beach Restaurant

How long is the waiting time usually during weekends? We are planning to come this weekend around 3 pm.

It seriously varies. I've walked in and sat down and I've showed up and waited anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes. Call and reserve a table. Hopefully they are taking reservations.

Do they have indoor seating today and so I need to make a reservation?

Yes Marty, we do have indoor dining, however we are not accepting reservations at this time. It is first come, first served. Our hours are Monday-Friday 12-8pm. Saturday & Sunday 11am-8pm.

    Is there a private room?

    Nope

I just called and asked if there were bottomless mimosas on Saturday and the very nice lady told me yes. Is that so? All the reviews only talk about Sunday bottomless mimosas but just wanted to confirm they are available Saturday as well

As far as I know from my visits there, the bottomless mimosas are only available on their Sunday brunch menu.

I hear there is an outdoor area with heating. Can you sit at these areas after eating INSIDE or do you specifically have to reserve these spots?

I am sure they would move you outside as long as you were ordering something.

    Is the patio dog friendly?

Yes, the outdoor patio is dog friendly. Additionally, at dusk and in to the evening we've seen many people walking their dogs along the road between the restaurant and the ocean.

I found Barbara's on Yelp--solid 4-star rating, good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. We arrived and were told there was about a 20-minute wait, which felt reasonable for a weekend seafood spot. Once we were seated, things started off fine, but the experience quickly became a bit frustrating. There seemed to be a breakdown in communication with our server regarding our order. We placed everything clearly, but when the food came out, it wasn't what we had ordered. Instead of just clarifying or correcting it, we were told the order had been placed incorrectly on our side and were asked to reorder. Unfortunately, we were also still charged for the original order, which made the situation feel even more confusing. We also ordered the clam chowder, which was honestly disappointing. From the very first spoonful to the last, there was a consistent gritty, sandy texture that made it difficult to enjoy at all. It took away from what is usually a comfort dish, especially in a coastal town where you expect it to shine. On a positive note, our timing coincided with sunset, and the view from the window was absolutely stunning. Watching the sun dip over the water while dining added a really beautiful moment to the experience, and the scenery itself was honestly the highlight of the visit. The setting itself is nice and the location is convenient if you're exploring Half Moon Bay, but based on our experience, the execution on both service and food quality didn't match the expectations set by the rating. Overall, it felt like a missed opportunity. With a bit more attention to order accuracy and consistency in the kitchen, this place could easily live up to its Yelp reputation--but unfortunately, that wasn't our experience that day.

We also enjoyed their calamari appetizer which wasn't too oily, fried well, batter was light, and the squid was cooked well and not too chewy. My husband I also tried their lobster roll, and clam chowder both of which were just decent and ok but nothing to go crazy for. Curious about what the new/old place is like, our three-person family went there for a late breakfast today. Walking up to the front doors, the original inset stained glass remains. Walking in, the cool wood paneling and nautical decor remains in place with a couple of new touches. The fully appointed bar also remains, now with a more streamlined look with subtle lighting changes. We were greeted pleasantly and seated inside the dining room immediately; it was moderately busy and buzzing, not too loud. Our server was quick to our table, menu-knowledgeable and consistent in his attention to us. We had a Denver omelette, a couple of bennies and lemon ricotta pancakes to share. My omelette had particularly fresh and al fresca peppers and onions - wonderful. The lemon ricotta pancakes were sufficiently saturated and fluffy(hard to pull off)and came with fresh cream. The prices were at about the same level as the local competition, which pleasantly surprised us. It appears that the folks who did this breakfast/lunch reboot were shrewd in pricing their dishes. Jetty Wave, a drinks and appetizers adventure(which I heartily recommend as well for different reasons)in the northwestern part of Princeton, is not for the fiscally faint hearted. The only element that makes our experience short of a 5 is that we were not given a farewell when we left, though I was able to find our friendly server and thanked him. In all, the Joanne's legacy is intact - the old carved wood Ketch Joanne sign still hangs inside - literally and figuratively a homage to its legacy while bringing a new energy to this space. The New England-style clam chowder was rich, creamy, with just the right subtle smokiness and balanced seasoning--definitely lives up to Half Moon Bay's chowder reputation. For mains, the Dungeness crab sandwich was the star: generous lumps of sweet local crab, minimal sauce (just how I like it), on toasted sourdough with fries on the side. My partner went with the fish and chips, and the cod was crispy, flaky, and not greasy at all--classic done right. The outdoor patio with fire pits was cozy even in cooler weather, and our server was super friendly, attentive, and full of local recommendations.
