Great sushi tucked right off highway 1 in HMB. Fresh sushi, great service, place is very clean. Recommend the Miso Black Cod, loved it! And the Curry Katsu Udon is a winner at our table. Only recommendation is they need a better sign outside so you done blow past them. Try them out, you won't regret it.

Giant and Lobster Crunch, with large Asahi

Food was fantastic, we ordered 4 rolls and one large beer to share with two people. Romeo and Juliet was good, but we preferred the Lobster Crunch. Giant roll was second favorite, escolar on top was very tasty. The deep fried Philadelphia was also perfectly cooked. Staff was very nice and we ate outside in their wind guarded patio. Location is great, plenty of parking.

Big fan of Hangetsu. The food on the day of our visit was fresh and delicious. The service was excellent. Personal favorite and a recommendation - Santa Barbara Uni. Fresh and sweet - surprisingly rare level of (high) quality. Another great feature is outdoor seating - but - in this areaa - it may get too chilly.

Kobe beef roll

The rolls were super tasty and the fish to rice ratio was decent. We ordered the lion king roll, caterpillar roll, Kobe beef roll, and the Hamachi carpaccio. We got our food within 10 minutes, super quick on a weekday evening! Simple decor with lots of windows to watch the hwy traffic. There were a ton of TVs around the place and they were playing some live football game.

Hangetsu totally fits the hype! This local sushi restaurant Hangetsu is cozy, clean, charming, and serving delicious fresh shasimi and sushi dishes. The service is friendly and fast. I would highly recommend it

We came here to celebrate an anniversary in the family. The views are spectacular. In fact, I would…read moresuggest coming early to walk around the property. There is a walking trail along the property. The restaurant felt a bit like a museum. There is a lot of space between tables so your meal will feel pretty private. The staff was nice and explained each dish in detail, as it arrived. The restaurant offers a three course or a seven course tasting menu. The three course menu is double the portion of the seven course menu. You're getting about the same amount of food, If you want variety, go for the seven course menu. That's what we did. You can also opt to wine pairing each course. Our table wanted a combination of cocktails and wine. I asked the sommelier for drink suggestions to bring out the best flavors of the dishes. He suggested a sparkling rose for the first couple of courses and then a red for the remaining course. We ordered the bottle of red for the table. I felt like the drink choices were great enhancements to the dishes. Our first dish was a mini caviar tart, with a mussel in a citrus bath, and a cherry "juice". We loved the cherry juice. It was very unique and felt like it was solely made from cherries. It didn't have a lot of extra sugar in it. The caviar tart was nice and light. It was a one bit dish. The mussel was good too, but I felt like the pickled veggies were fighting against the citrus. Our second dish was an early girl tomato and ahi salad. This was a great dish with fresh flavors. The third dish was a saffron pasta with fava beans. I'm not usually a fan of saffron, but I couldn't even taste it in this dish. I liked the addition of fava beans. That was a nice twist. The next courses were the trout and duck. I liked the light feel of the trout and the delicate flavors. The mint was a nice touch. The duck was equally great. It wasn't too gamey and I liked the jus that accompanied the dish. We swapped out the planned stone fruit dessert for the chocolate and coffee dessert. I can see how the stone fruit dessert would have complimented the light feel of the whole menu. I kind of wish I would have had the menu as the chef intended it, but I love coffee and couldn't resist the other dessert. It was definitely a heavy dessert. It was very rich with great flavors. I couldn't finish all of it. Overall, a great night. We loved the view, hospitality of the staff, and the food.

You are allowed to order two items at a time during the 90 minute brunch portion. You then have 30 minutes for the dessert items, though the waiter did say we could order more brunch items during that time too. I maxed out during round 5. Round 1: The MARIN COUNTY CHEESE TASTING and the PAN SEARED SCALLOP. There were three types of cheese on the plate with some fig jam and some raisin bread. Everything was super tasty. Loved the fig jam. The scallop was very nicely cooked. Loved the truffle foam. It was supposedly polenta foam but it was very smooth and not grainy at all. Round 2: CAVATELLI and CHOCOLATE CHIP PANCAKES. I think the pasta was my favorite meal of the day. It had a great truffle and parmesan flavor. Soft pasta. Yum. The pancakes were also delicious. Nice and fluffy with melted chocolate chips. I did hold the ricotta cream from it as I know I don't like it. Round 3: LOBSTER ROLL and WAGYU BEEF SLIDER. The lobster roll was tasty but messy. I don't like caviar so I had that held. The slider was very tasty. The sauce on it was a bit too BBQ-sauce flavor for me but overall not a bad bite. Round 4: I did the ORGANIC MAITAKE MUSHROOM and another scallop. The mushrooms were super flavorful. Loved the crispy rice puffs on them. Round 5: I just did on plate - the BELGIAN WAFFLES. I loved the waffles. Crispy outside, soft inside. Warm apples on top and a big dollop of whipped cream. Yum! Dessert: There were carrot cakes, coconut macaroons, strawberry shortcakes and a chocolate pistachio balls. I only add the carrot cake there and took the rest home for later. The staff was very good. Always taking away empty plates and refilling drinks and water. A splurge of a meal but worth it for good food and service.

This was my first visit to a Peruvian restaurant, or a Peruvian anything, for that matter. I…read moreconfess to being unduly influenced by Miami Vice, especially Glenn Frey's "Smuggler's Blues". The TV series is long gone, and my attitude is now properly adjusted. The upper floor dining area can be reached by a magnificent staircase (or an elevator). The view outside is stunning at sunset, waves, beach, breakers and all. But be sure to be seated on the water side, because the parking lot dominates the view otherwise. Two dramatically lit bars are very eye-catching, one upstairs, the other down below. There is something about dining beneath a soaring cupola that is elegant beyond description. Soft music enhanced the mood. My order was BBQ Ribs ($19.00), nominally an appetizer, and a side of coconut rice ($6.00). The ribs were a very generous portion, tender, and glazed with a truly excellent BBQ sauce. Honestly, the glaze was better than I've had in restaurants specializing in ribs. The coconut rice was as good as I could imagine, perfectly steamed, and a generous portion to boot. The combination was mouth watering as well as satisfying. Peruvian beer, specifically Cuzquena Lager was the perfect libation. Karen C. was the server, and she displayed absolutely no characteristics of a Miami Vice villain. She was prompt, accurate and friendly. She did not need an attitude adjustment. The restaurant is a few miles north of HMB, and well worth the drive with a very adequate parking lot servicing the shopping center.

Food was incredible. Would recommend getting small bites because they're BIG portions. We ate on the second level which had a really nice view of the ocean but the first level also looks nice and has outdoor seating. My only drawback is the service. Nothing wrong with it, but our server seemed really out of it. It just felt a little awkward but otherwise everything was awesome.
