Dole whip

Great spot to grab a bite in Half Moon Bay! Relaxing atmosphere and really nice, warm hospitality. The food was like I was back on Kauai (plate lunch grilled chicken, Mac salad, spam musubi, shave ice and we got the dole whip, which is a must get). Will go here every time I'm in HMB.

This is a tough review to write but I feel like I should share, even though we probably didn't have the "full" experience. My husband and I had walked around downtown Half Moon Bay and saw the sign for a little beer garden, and decided to walk over. The owner was outside grilling (Superbowl Sunday) and having a good ol' time chatting with another customer. We sat down and he immediately turned the heater on for us and asked what we'd like to order. We had 3 beers between the two of us, and it was $40. Way more than we expected, but honestly we had such a fun time and he gave us a treat of some of the chicken he was grilling. Super friendly guy and staff, fun little random beer garden, definitely not what I would usually look for since they were limited on drink options, too, but we really enjoyed talking with him. As a side note - I saw a few comments about not having restrooms available for customers... I did ask and they directed me inside to use the main restroom, so no issue on my end for that piece.

Nice little family business and yes it is authentic. My daughter got the pineapple shaved ice and I got the shrimp salad. They were both tasty, and service was amazing.

5 stars for the Dole whip. Knocking down a star for the uncomfortable Gen Z stare experience.

Favorite spot in HMB to visit. The bbq chicken, shrimp, and tri tip are on point! The sauce Nano uses on the chicken is top notch. The vibe, the atmosphere, the friendly service, and the tasty food have made us add Nano's into our rotation, we will keep coming back! Thank you!

This is our must stop every time we go to HMB. The food is amazing!! Beer always cold and the service is great. Love how it feels like friends in the backyard hanging out.

The Chosen One - tri-tip, garlic shrimp, and chicken

We finished off our baby moon in HMB by grabbing some lunch at Nano's. On Fridays and Saturday's, they serve Hawaiian bbq and it was bomb AF! WHAT WE ORDERED: - The Chosen One: includes tri-tip, chicken, and garlic shrimp, along with 2 scoops of rice and 1 scoop of macaroni salad. (Price $32~) This was enough for 2 people to split and more. Everything was grilled to perfection. All proteins were well-seasoned and not over cooked or tough. Add some Siracha for that perfect bite. We took our order to-go and enjoyed it at the beach. We came right at 11am when they opened on a Friday but they weren't quite ready yet. There was no line or crowd when we got there but I can imagine how busy they get later in the day. We definitely will come back next time!

Great food, great ambience. We had a large group and stayed until after closing. If you are in half moon bay this is a must visit spot.

Looking at how delicious they were, I asked where they got this from. They pointed me to the corner and I went in with my niece. The space is rather small, but you don't really need to sit in the store to enjoy the amazing food. They have curated list of items or you can build your own. My niece wanted specific colors, so we opted for build your own style. We got mango ice cream at the bottom with strawberry and cotton candy syrup, topped with mochi and condensed milk. The shaved ice itself was finely grounded and easy to scoop. I didn't have any chunks of ice that made eating this unbearable. The syrups were delicious and sweet and worked well together. The condensed milk tied it all together and the mochi added a nice texture touch. The mango ice cream was also delicious. Overall, a very reasonably priced dessert. I look forward to coming back again.

Since it was her first one didn't matter and she enjoyed it. Island service, and some of the flair.

They also serve hot food if you're looking for a bite to eat. Interior has some seating inside with a grocery store kind of feeling. No outdoor seating available. Parking is limited to street parking. A few notes: * Not everything in the store is labelled with prices * Hot food was pretty average in my opinion * Price vs value wasn't great in terms of quality of food Onto the hot food: * butter mochi - definitely the best thing we ordered here! Chewy buttery and soft in texture. Don't skip this. * garlic shrimp- this was recommended by the cashier but it was quite lacking in depth of flavor with the primary taste just being garlic. No spice, nothing special to stand out. After a while the sauce gets tiring. Mac salad was prominently peppery but bland in both texture and flavor. * Mochiko chicken - Not bad, crunchy battered chicken. Interior of the chicken was juicy but lacking in that distinct strong sweet savory that mochiko chicken is known for. Again, the mac salad was a letdown. Overall, the food was quite average especially for the price point. I can think of two places in SJ with better Hawaiian food for half the price.

Delicious, and this place blew my mind when I tried it out…read more First off, very surprised at all the flavors you can get and try, including horchata, Thai tea, and ube! To be honest, when I came here, I did not expect much. I typically am not the type to get snow or anything icy, since it is not the first thing that comes to my mind when it comes to dessert, but I am so glad I got to experience this. When I came on a Wednesday night, it was not too busy, and my friend and I were able to get our food within 10 minutes. The spot itself is pretty small, with not a lot of seating, but some limited spots outside. I got the black sesame with condensed milk, and my friend got the mexican hot chocolate. What makes this place stand out so much is the texture of the dessert, which was fluffy, soft, and melted in your mouth. Overall, I want to come here again and try the other flavors!

I loved this so much, it had such a fantastic texture of being creamy but also light and fluffy. Probably one of the best shaved snow texture I've had. Tried some of the matcha snow and earl grey snow as well, and both of them were solid too. My favorite was still the cereal snow because I have more of a sweet tooth and the matcha and earl grey were less sweet. I would absolutely return to try more snow flavors! Service was really friendly and our 3 bowls were ready within a few minutes. Only one small bench inside and some outdoor seating.
