We stayed at an inn next door and decided to stop in The Press for breakfast. I got a house coffee and my husband got a latte. We both got their fresh bagels with cream cheese (they were very generous with their cream cheese!). We were able to get outdoor seating right after ordering so that was very nice.
Went again during NYE week and again the service was so sweet and helpful! Tried the bagel sandwich and was very impressed with the consistency of the bagel - crisp on the outside with a good rise and tender and fresh crumb inside. Grabbed it to go and went to Montara to enjoy the view, the warm day (for "winter.") The breakfast burrito was outstanding and the home fries were perfectly salted and so crispy. Another great experience here! Thanks to all the hard working folks at The Press!
Solid little cafe, with tons of breakfast, brunch, and lunch options--everything from eggs to salad sax and sandwiches to entrees. Many coffees, though oddly, the one thing they didn't have was medium roast. Service friendly fast efficient. A beautiful outside patio and self serve coffees. By 2:pm on Saturday they had already run out of the buttermilk biscuit, and love they have a tofu veggie scramble. Prices are reasonable and portions generous.
Food is tasty but this place is so unorganized. They forgot to make our coffee and when asked they made it and just left it with the cashier who didn't call out of names. The crab omelet and breakfast burrito were really good but service definitely lacked.
This would be a 3.5 but there's no half ratings. Came on a weekend for lunch and it was easy to sit outside on the patio. This place was nothing fancy, a no frills sandwich spot close to a bunch of sit down restaurants. There's no proper waitressing, you order at the register and they bring the food to you then you bus your dishes. I got a BLT and it was good, had a good size portion for what the price was. The juice was nice too, refreshing. I'd come back if I wanted to head to a quick and casual spot.
Love coming here early in the morning. The Press is our go to coastside breakfast destination. It's a cute little place with the coastal vibe, I love. Colorful interior, solid wooden tables, local photography displayed and up for sale... From classic American eggy breakfast offerings, bagels, bowls, sandwiches, sweet baked things, they've got it. Upon entry, you grab one of the laminated menus and then place your order at the register. There's always helpful and friendly staff. Decide if you'd like indoor & outdoor seating. I love the coffee bar with at least six different kinds to choose from. My favorite are their scones: large, substantial but light. If you see the lemon rosemary an available, try it. Parking on the surrounding streets has never been an issue.
I love their Huevos Rancheros. They make it just right: crispy, spicy, creamy and delicious!

Standing in line I believe I saw a plate with biscuits and gravy. Looked good. So I ordered that. I added two eggs over medium. It came in a bowl and had the eggs on top. No big deal, I moved the eggs to the plate. But the biscuits and gravy were all mixed together into a sort of stew. I couldn't eat it as it was so soggy. One employee asked if I was going to eat it and I said no. He just walked away. I needed a to go order as well. Ordered waffles and fruit. I ordered French toast for me since I didn't eat the biscuits and gravy. I get back to our AirBnB and there is no syrup or butter. I had to drive back to get syrup. They apologized and offered me a free pastry. I think there is potential here, but they absolutely missed the mark multiple times.
I'm not sure why this place is so always crowded. The breakfast sandwich had entirely too much cream cheese, the egg was overcooked and really dry, and the bagel was pretty tough. I am not a coffee drinker, but my parents had coffee here and said it tasted really burnt. I also had a chai tea latte, which wasn't too bad, but definitely on the sweeter side. I live up the street and I haven't been back.
Went here on a Sunday morning, we were able to be seated promptly. You order at the counter here; the staff brings food and there are bins to put your plates in. We got the breakfast burrito x2 (shareable) and Greek omelet (along with a chocolate muffin and cinnamon roll). Breakfast burritos are sizeable and really tasty- enough for 2 people to share. The omelet was nice and hearty, the potatoes cooked to perfection. For the price point, the amount of food you receive is definitely worth it.

My partner's veggie omelet was massive. Big fan of the Mexican breakfast options and menu in general. Lots of breakfast classics. they also serve lunch after 11:30 A.M. self serve coffee station, many GINORMOUS baked goods on display, fresh bagels available daily.. a neighborhood favorite it seems. Will note: when I went (Feb 2025) there was a $2 up-charge for any dish with eggs which is absolutely egregious when I've seen them in stock everywhere around the city. Suppliers may differ, sure, but it's the principle. Will not return until they get rid of that ridiculous fee

We ordered biscuits and gravy, crab eggs Benedict, kids pancakes and a few others. I just say they're all very good! I especially love their latte! Highly recommend if you're in Halfmoon Bay and Pacifica area! read more

After my whole month of travel in Asia, this is the perfect place we came out for comfort food over a normal coffee and breakfast as our little family outing. The spring brings out all the beautiful flowers around the patio, makes it such a cute place to hang out. On a sunny weekend, so close to the Miramar beach and the pier, you can't ask for a better and chill morning. The Greek omelette has become my go-to. It never disappoint every time. We are lucky enough to always get that corner table on the raised area of the patio. So our dogs can comfortably stretch out and not bothered by other ppl. That's really great. I'm sure we'll come back soon during summer. read more

The food was so good, the house made tomatillo salsa was delicious and brought the whole dish together for the Green Chilaquiles. Coming back for that dish alone it was top notch. The lox bagel was fresh, and the home fries were the perfect crisp and so simple. Great spot for coffee, the peerless coffee drip & the ice vanilla latte hit the spot. The employees were nice and very chill. The location is so cute, smaller location & feels homey. A great local spot with the view of the ocean from afar. read more
Happy to find this sweet cafe' when we were looking for an breakfast spot open after our early morning hike. ordered at counter and grabbed a table outside to sit with our pup. we enjoyed everything we ordered! chilaquiles huevos rancheros fresh squeezed orange juice cappuccino apple streudel loved the local favorite, casual vibe, friendly service, and delicious pastries made on site. highly recommend this non-assuming eatery with quality ingredients. glad hardly anything else was open in HMB leading us to this gem! read more
Great neighborhood coffee and brunch spot. We went when it was super crowded. We ordered but had to wait for the indoor tables to clear up before we sat down. Then, once we grabbed a table, I had to let the front know that we sat down so they can make and deliver our food. We waited for about 15-20 min for a table to clear. Food came immediately once we sat down but we had to remind staff that we ordered a mimosa as well. Beyond the logistics of sitting down to eat and getting your drink, the food was AMAZING! ended up at this place after a long night drive and i'm glad this place is open so early :) cashier was super kind, interior is cozy and it was easy to find parking at this hour it's 5am LOL very quaint is how i'd describe it. rly empty and everything was made quickly! ordered a jalapeño cheddar bagel and white mocha! was pretty good id come here again if i was ever in the area :) read more

Very friendly staff and crowd! Got the cappuccino and there are three sizes to select from. The patio is a great place to hangout and I definitely recommend stopping here for food.if you come at the right time you will see rainbow on their pastries ! read more

I placed a custom order of 60 assorted pastries for our school's staff appreciation week. The Press was very easy to communicate with and happy to accommodate our order. They let me select exactly how many of each pastry we wanted. We got 10 ham & cheese croissants, 10 almond croissants, 10 blueberry muffins,10 lemon almond poppyseed muffins, 5 apple strudels and 5 scones. They boxed the pastries nicely and even helped me carry them to my car. The staff were very excited to have such a nice assortment of gourmet pastries. I'd highly recommend The Press for your custom pastry orders! read more

My favorite is the poached eggs with prosciutto. This was perfectly cooked poached eggs with prosciutto, tomato, arugula on an English muffin topped with pesto served with potatoes. Fantastic. They have great baked goods and coffee. Service is attentive. Note: tables need some scrubbing. read more

Absolute worst service & food. Unfriendly & had to haggle for my coffee order as I was going off menu for an espresso add mocha. Not allowed to sit unless you order & gruffly told no seats inside. Better ambiance in your car or at a picnic table elsewhere; outside rust patio tables & chairs with as cold & icky feeling as this whole experience. Had to go back in to find my coffee & await help amongst many set on counter with no names or descriptions. Another unpleasant staff experience. Stale overpriced cookies to boot. Super cute place. Seems to have plenty of street parking. Grab a cup of coffee and cross the street for a super nice stroll or do what we did and eat there then stroll. Dogs are not allowed inside where you order, but dogs are allowed in their outdoor seating area. They have a side door outside. Food was really good. Biscuits and gravy was different but super good. Chicken was great. My waffle was a bit too crunchy for me but if you like that then that's all you. Service was super friendly and fast. Prices were also descent. We'll be back for sure. read more

Very solid place to stop for breakfast ( or lunch ) if in Half Moon Bay , have some view of the harbor if sitting outside. They also have some inside seating but very limited. Great thing about this place is stubbed in to because it opened at 5:00 am. I had another place in mind but they were closed at 8:30 , kinda crazy for breakfast on a weekend I ordered the breakfast burrito and typing this as I wait for it , but did have a plan croissant which I have to say was super fresh Note that if you use a credit card they add 3.5 percent , I always carry and use cash so it was cool but I know some hate when they see that added fee Okay , the burritos was excellent the ingredients so well mixed you tasted everything in each bit and cooked perfect. At first the potatoes looks burnt but some of the best I've had. Really enjoyed stopping here The only reason for not giving 5 stars is no restroom , which seems very strange for a sit down establishment. read more
Stopped by for lunch and ordered the Cubano and brioche French toast. The Cubano was good, and the French toast was as expected. The vibe is chill, and is mostly self service. I'd recommend sitting outside if you can, to enjoy the fresh ocean air. read more
Great brunch spot in half moon bay! We got the protein scramble and the Press bagel and I would happily order both again. The protein scramble had chunks of chicken and vegetables that for some reason were just delicious. The staff told us they recommend any of their bagels since the make them in house daily, and I agree they were fantastic. They had reasonable prices for the size of the meal. Tip: they serve breakfast all day! Will be back soon to try the grilled cheese and tomato soup. They door counter service so you order then sit down. They have some seating indoor and outdoor. Food came out in about 10-15 minutes. read more
