Just stopped by for some breakfast/ snack takeaways. There is an interesting full breakfast/brunch/lunch menu. The croissants and laminated pastry are bought out?, cooked from frozen. Breads made elsewhere. They seem to make their own cookies and some desserts. We tried 2: Easter Egg Cookies and Tres Leches. Both were better than good but not great. A mini apple pie for &6.50, I haven't tried yet. They make the standard complement of coffee drinks. Staff are polite and work quickly. read more

We dined here Sunday morning with my son and grandson 21/2. The outdoor patio was crowded and pleasant. The service is very friendly but as a counter service cafe it is scant as well. The food is a high quality melange of fresh delicious fare including croissants and quiches. The coffee offerings are wonderful and the cappuccinos were perfection. For as packed as this place was it did not hold up to expectations. Service was good and my wife's dish, the Gnocchi in a Gorgonzola cream sauce was delicious. The Gnocchi did seem a bit mushy to me but the dish was still tasty. I had the fettuccini in bolognese, their "famous sauce". I also ordered a side of house made sausage. The sausage was over cooked and dry, quite disappointing. The sauce was mid at best and not sure why they call out its made with top sirloin because you couldn't tell if it was that or chopped chuck roast. Spent the day in Half Moon Bay with some friends and our dogs. After walking along the beach path for a few hours, we wanted a dog-friendly place to chill out for some dessert and coffee. We searched on Yelp and there wasn't a lot options for dessert or coffee places, but thankfully, found this place that was also listed as being dog-friendly. The parking lot by this place was large and there was plenty of parking, so that was nice, despite it being a busy day in Half Moon Bay. As soon as we walked up to the door of the place, we saw a giant sign on the door that said that dogs weren't allowed. Boo. Well, thankfully, there was seating outside and there were 4 of us, so we took turns going in to order since we couldn't bring our dogs in. It was annoying, but manageable. I ordered an iced coffee and a cheesecake. There were so many desserts, I had a hard time deciding. They also had gelato as well. I wanted it all. The iced coffee was nice and refreshing. The cheesecake was divinely fluffy, light, and delicious. There was plenty of outdoor seating and thankfully, was overcast for most of the time we were there. Tried and loved: - fresh squeezed orange juice: at $8 for OJ, I was expecting something spectacular and that is exactly what I received. - margarita pizza: was consumed by my partner and was "very satisfying" - savory crêpe with egg and Swiss cheese: their technique was spot on, but it would have been elevated with more seasoning and perhaps some herbs. To be fair, it is supposed to come with ham which as a vegetarian I asked without because this European can't resist a crepe. - Hazelnut cake: delicious, just the right level of sweetness, creamy. Sooooo yummy!!!! I got the 2 scrambled eggs (soo fluffy and good!), bacon, hash browns (soooo delicious) and toast. My fiance got the veggie omelette which looked absolutely delicious! We had dinner at Mezza Luna the night before and drove around exploring the harbor area when we saw the cafe, assuming they were related and they are. They have a large menu of breakfast items, sandwiches and pastries. We were surprised at the variety. I had a breakfast bagel and white mocha. Both were excellent. My wife had an omelette that she really enjoyed. The kids loved the pizza. Overall it was a great meal. We went back and we're going to grab a gelato or pastry to take home. I went back and inquired about the gelato ingredients and I felt like I was dealing with mean girls behind the counter, then they laughed at me when I left. Wow, do you really make fun of your customers? You didn't think I would hear? I wanted to possibly share some ice cream with my pup...and wanted to be sure xylitol is NOT one of the ingredients, as that's highly toxic to dogs, but was laughed out of cafe. Kicker is my friend always tips well here and to be treated this way...should tell you they don't care about the customers, only see green. I came here with a group for breakfast, and the gentleman was very nice and quick with service. He looked like he was doing a million things at once and seemed like a great multi-Tasker. With my dairy allergy, I was able to get the fritatta with veggies and a side of fruit for a quick, low calorie protein breakfast. It did come with a side salad, which I thought was slightly odd. But don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of salads. It's not a breakfast item for me personally. **shrugs** Plenty of seating inside and outside, which all areas were really clean. Here a delicious and nutritious meal for us runs from $12 to $14 plus the cost of drinks. My husband usually orders an omelette while I try their various specials (see photo). I also like to bring their special desserts to dinner parties--a wide assortment of individual cakes for variety--my fave is the mini chocolate heart cake and mango cake. I love this place. It's a long walk from my house, about 3.5 miles. The staff is friendly and the food usually comes out quickly. Their baked goods are very good. The quiches, can be a tad greasy for me, but otherwise a good choice. Not a big fan of their omelets, everything in the veggie one is fresh, but the eggs and the hash browns didn't seem to have much, if any, seasoning or salt.
