almond milk cappuccino and homemade vegan twix bar
    Emily C.

Cute little spot right by the beach in Half Moon Bay. It was pretty crowded (we went on a Saturday morning) but still had pretty good seating options both inside and out. I ordered an almond milk cappuccino (yum) and their homemade vegan Twix bar. (a little $ but VERY yum)

Granola's Coffee is a great spot to kick back and have a nice breakfast. Love the cozy vibe of this place. It can get very busy on the weekends. Parking can be hit or miss. The baked goods I've tried have been really good! The Ham and Cheese Croissant was FIRE! The strawberry and blueberry scone was also really good. I liked that it wasn't dry. The coffee here is okay. I appreciate their creative menu and rotating specials. My friend ordered the mocha, and it was 50% foam and 50% drink. Overall, I think the food is their strong suit compared to the coffee.

Great little coffee shop with small bites located right off Cabrillo Hwy! Love the cozy ambiance with plenty of seating and friendly staff. Nice place to stop for a boost of morning caffeine before heading off to the farms with the kiddos!

I liked the english muffin i ordered. Coffee was okay, but nothing special. The place was cute and service was quick.

Ordered an iced matcha with vanilla syrup. Super yummy and refreshing. Also ordered the class breakfast sandwhich with bacon on an Asiago bagel. Also pictured is the iced blackberry chai and gluten free muffin which were both well enjoyed. Quick and kind service. And beautiful location very well decorated. So cozy a great place for a foggy half moon bay morning.

Great ambiance, very cozy. Great bagels-- I had the lox bagel and really good matcha shockingly in my opinion. I asked for it sweetened with vanilla. It's a cute tucked away spot in HMB!

Polite and helpful staff. Great flavorful food and beverages. We were in the area for several days and went here a few times. Nice seating area.

Whenever I'm craving for a really good breakfast sandwich, I would drive to Granola's all the way from San Jose just to get The Works with Bacon, and avocado on a bagel. It's freshly made after ordering and tastes great when hot. The interior of the coffee house is simple but really sweet. There's cute little elephants all over the place, and nice wooden tables and chairs. There's also outdoor seating for when the weather is a bit warmer (or not, up to you). Their single restroom is spacious and always very clean which is a plus for me.

The Food was great! Each morning we were helped right away with no line. The friendly cashier was ready for our order two days in a row. The ambiance was nice with a few different corners indoors to study, eat, catch up with a friend or family. There's also plenty of seating outside to enjoy the pacific air. Me and my wife each had a breakfast sando one on sesame bagel one on house English muffin and chai tea lattes. Great spot!

Stumbled upon this cute little coffee shop on a work visit around the area. Very nice and quiet environment with lots of seating area. Perfect for doing work or for small coffee chats! Caramel Honey Latte: 5/5 This was delicious! I wasn't sure which to get but was recommended this drink by the baristas and it was an excellent choice. Just the right amount of sweetness for me! I love the decors inside and outside of the store. Very minimal but cute! Love the tiny pumpkins they had during Halloween time.

We made a pitstop here before heading to the pumpkin patch (which ended up being walking distance to Farmer John's Pumpkin Patch). It was a cute little coffee shop! They had indoor and outdoor seating, which was great because we had doggos with us. I got a Lavender Latte and a veggie bagel sandwich. The veggies in the bagel were crisp and fresh and absolutely delicious. The Lavender Latte didn't have an overwhelming Lavender flavor which was perfect! I wish I would've saw the menu on the wall because it seemed like there were other drink and food options compared to their paper menu. It kinda blended in with all the cool decor they had (or maybe I just wasn't being too observant). But it gave me more than enough reason to come back! As for service, it was ehh. The girl at the cashier seemed like she didn't want to be there. Other customer's drinks and food came out in a timely matter, but my latte was forgotten about. I had to go up to them to ask about it. But, you know, balance. Either way, I'd rather stop here for coffee and a quick eat in HMB instead of Starbucks.

Entry way. The space is cozy!

Meh- high cost coffee and not much else. I don't get the vibe here. I tried some sort of banana bread and it was very dry and crumbly. For two drinks and the bread it was over $20 dollars. Not my idea of a great quality value. I would have been more impressed had the product met expectations.

Great find in Half Moon Bay! Super cute place with cozy rustic vibe. Service was excellent and my Americano hot and strong. They make all kinds of breakfast and sandwiches.

This cutesy tearoom was the perfect place to spend time with my mom when she was visiting…read more Everything was tea-licious. Let's go from most memorable to great: 1) The scones! We need to talk about the scones! The owner said they get made every day from scratch and are turned by hand, which makes all the difference, and boy oh boy was she right. Most scones I've had so far often make my mouth feel like the Sahara Desert afterward, but these ones were absolute perfection. We had the blueberry-orange one and the strawberry-white chocolate one. Both are winners. 2) The tea. As you can expect, they have an enormous selection of tea, and it is very hard to pick one. I eventually settled on a floral blend (yum!), and my mom picked a fruity one, and both were fantastic. There is a lot of tea in the pot, and getting it empty is no easy feat. 3) Sandwiches. As a vegetarian, I was happy to see they had the cucumber one and the egg salad sandwich. Both were very fresh and didn't taste like they had been made 2 days before and popped them in the fridge. 4) The interior. Lace: yes. Frilly things: yes. Lampshades: yes. China: yes, yes, and yes. Floral patterns: yes. Charm: absolutely yes. Their restroom is also worth a visit. 5) Chocolate-covered strawberries. These deserve their own shout out because I for sure popped one whole in my mouth and it was amazing. 6) The service. Maybe weird to put this one in 6th place because they were highly attentive and overall great, but I really liked the food and the tea, what can I say. 7) Everything else (minus the kale salad): cookies, fruit skewer, quiche, jams 8) Price: We opted for the Tea for Two, and it came to $96, which is definitely not cheap but definitely worth it for the experience alone (and the scones!). 9) Kale salad: Was it bad? No. It was alright. But hey, there is only so much you can improve on when it comes to kale.

We were looking for a quaint breakfast spot and Taste Cafe has great reviews on Yelp. At first we were disappointed that it was in a strip mall but that all changed when we walked in. The interior is decorated with many clocks so you don't really know what it is. The service staff is friendly and polite. The biscuits and gravy were great and the hash brown portions were generous and crispy. We were on our way for a bike ride up Lobitos Creek and Tunitas. We were a little too full after the breakfast but it was worth carrying the extra weight up 2,800' of climbing.

"NO WATER BOTTLE ON THE TABLE!"…read more That was literally what was said to me today -- after I had already placed my food order. I've come here several times with my kids after playing at the indoor playground next door. In the past, I've found the servers attentive, friendly, and nice, and it had become part of our routine to stop here after playground time. Unfortunately, today's visit left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. We had water bottles with us because we had just spent time at the playground. They were sealed water bottles, and while we were there, I had ordered food and water from the restaurant. After I placed our food order, a staff member came all the way over to our table specifically to tell me not to put the water bottle on the table. There wasn't an extra chair or obvious place to put my things, so I awkwardly had to keep the bottle on my chair or place it on the floor. If this rule is going to be enforced this strictly -- even for a mom with two young kids coming from the playground next door with a sealed water bottle -- it would be helpful to make that clear BEFORE customers sit down and order. I would have appreciated the opportunity to make an informed decision before placing my order, rather than being corrected afterward in a way that felt unnecessarily embarrassing as a paying customer. I understand the need to enforce policies, especially around outside food and drinks. But there should also be some balance and common sense in how rules are applied. A sealed water bottle is very different from bringing in outside food or drinks to replace ordering from the restaurant. This was not a huge incident, but it made the experience feel rigid and unwelcoming. Unfortunately, because of this interaction, I do not plan to come back. I also know other families who follow a similar playground-and-meal routine, and I would share this experience with them so they know what to expect. UPDATE: In response to business' comment: You completely missed the point. My issue was not simply that the restaurant has a no outside food/drink policy. My issue was HOW and WHEN that policy was enforced. If water bottles are not allowed on the table, I would have respected the rule much more if that had been clearly communicated BEFORE I sat down and placed an order. Instead, I was corrected only AFTER I had already ordered food and became a paying customer. That timing matters. It is not acceptable customer service to take a customer's order first, then strictly enforce a rule afterward in a way that makes the customer feel embarrassed and unwelcome. If this rule is important enough to enforce against a sealed water bottle, it should be communicated clearly BEFORE customers sit down or spend money. That was the core issue with my experience.

I love this local coffee place. They have sweet breads. And quiche. And little sandwiches. And house Made soup of the day. Of course, all kinds of coffees, and teas, and hot chocolate. And if you really need it some sodas and waters. Today's coffee for me was just a simple latte. A delicious one to be sure! I recommend when you order yours that you get it for consumption at Cafe Society, in a nice cup. Many times a month. They also have live music including jazz, and many other things. If you happen to play the piano, or have some sort of instrument you can bring with you, Cafe Society is also amenable to having you come in at the moment and entertain the crowd. There are two pianos on site., A pair of pianists who show up that wants to duel could probably do it. Separate rooms in the cafe. But that would make it all the more enjoyable for people sitting in the middle listening to a piano duel. And with the way the tables are arranged at the current time, access to electrical outlets at more than a couple of tables is available. So Cafe Society makes a great place for your day's adventure. Stop to enjoy a little recharge of both your body, and your devices. Their bathroom is always kept clean. Even to the point of letting your child go in alone. On any given day, there is parking within a reasonable walking distance, if not directly out in front. Cafe Society is located on Main Street in half Moon Bay. It's both easy to find, and easy to miss. So keep your eyes open. But if you do happen to miss it, they are located in the ground floor of the Odd Fellows Hall building. If you're looking up, look for the eyeball staring back at you at the roofline. Somewhat friendly during the daytime. Somewhat spooky at night But always an attention grabber. LOL I totally recommend Cafe Society and half Moon Bay. They've been around for a long time. There are many reasons for it. And those reasons are the motivation for my visits, again and again.
