Been here few times - located in El Granada this is great spot for lunch or morning coffee with some tasty bakery items. Love the local coffee (got to be bourbon ), their classic crab melt(usually after 1130am) and if you get there early, bran muffin is great too! Nice outdoor patio as well inside and great service! We ordered huevos rancheros - very good - came with a side of potatoes pancake - good but no syrup was given for to-go coffee cake - terrible, do not recommend. The service is amazing even there's a super long line waiting to order or you can get a seat. Very friendly and helpful cashiers and staff. There are two options of dining inside or outdoor. Unfortunately, we were less than impressed with the food, and will go back to Cafe Mezzaluna across the street. The food was not up to par for the prices they charge.... Bacon was undercooked, no crispiness...the Greek omelette lacked taste... the potatoes were the highlight of the plates- crispy outside and soft inside.. All the tables were already full and there was a short line at the counter - you have to order at the register and wait for your food to come out and for a table to open up. We ordered our food to go - I decided to go with a bagel and egg sandwich, which is a full bagel, served open-faced style, with cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and a heap of scrambled eggs. I had never had this combo before and at first, I was a little skeptical to have the cream cheese be part of the mix as I thought it would be too much flavor, but all the ingredients paired really well together and the sandwich was delicious. This place is really cute and their food is gooood. I got the huevos rancheros and although their prices are high ($17.5) the quality and portion size was there. I also like how they use compostable togo silverware and biodegradable/ recycled togo containers. Restaurants effort towards sustainability is something I also notice and appreciate. The tea is great. The atmosphere is great. The service is great. Always a smile on their faces even though it's always busy. Excellent breakfast option for an early Wednesday morning. I got the breakfast burrito and substituted sausage for bacon. Sausage was of a good quality (not a lot of fat or grease) and plentiful. Very tasty and the size was just right. The open-faced bagel sammie was also very good, the star being the fresh bagel. Very popular place, but the staff were on their game, getting orders taken/served and all with a positive attitude. The large open windows let the sun shine in slowly as the sun rises and the environment is tranquil. They also serve a large variety of biscuits and sweet breads. Setting: bad line flow, untidy, indoor and outdoor dining, but indoors feels like the staff break room behind a screen. Veggie scramble: artichokes , onions, peppers, spinach, more onions than eggs, big slices of peppers and onions (as another reviewer stated), no mushrooms (as one reviewer had enjoyed), cheese not entirely melted. Home fries: basic, well-cooked, not dry Biscuit: I was excited for these because one reviewer raved about them and the special jam they came with. They are not fluffy, moist but tasteless. I saw a girl preparing them in the back kitchen when I went to the bathroom, which is located there (yuck). She was kneading and shaping the biscuits like rolls, which is not how biscuits are made. The breakfast burrito was on the salty side and it didn't taste or look like fresh bacon to me-- it appeared and tasted like bacon bits mixed into the burrito filling (I could be wrong, but this is what it came off to me as). The side of potatoes was a very good portion, but not much flavor or color to them. Wished they would have cooked them more to get crispy bits or added some type of herb or garlic. This also appeared to not be so fresh and simply reheated. The vanilla iced latte was good, but didn't have much vanilla flavor. As for service and environment, I enjoyed both (although if you choose to sit outside, be aware that many bees will fly around your table and meal). The Press is a great spot and busy. The portion sizes are a breath of fresh air in a society plagued by "shrinkflation". The bagel egg sandwich with chorizo with a home made everything bagel was phenomenal. The sandwich was so big it's served open face and you have to scrape some off to fit half in your mouth. Well this place was quite the let down! In town for the wife's birthday and woke up wanting to grab breakfast. This place was nearby our hotel so we decided to walk over and check it out. The reviews were decent, so figured it couldn't be that bad. Holy smokes were we wrong. Guess I should have checked the recency of some of the reviews. How does a place offer a crab and avocado omelette and then up charge you for real crab ($8) and also the avocado($5)! Not to mention they are still charging a surcharge for items containing eggs($4)! That was the wife's $37 omelette that she said was mediocre at best! I went ahead and had the special which was an eggs Benedict! How does a place offer a special that cannot even be cooked right? Came with hard boiled eggs and a canned hollandaise! It was awful, I thought about sending it back which is something I never do, but then figured it probably would not change anything so I choked it down! The only thing that was ok, and I mean just ok, was the coffee. This place is atrocious, avoid at all costs!
