I don't know if it was because it was MLK weekend but WOW, we waited at least 30 minutes for our food and this was just for a party of 3 (oatmeal + kids' pancakes + crepe). Looking around I saw so many people looking at their watches, waiting for their food to come. There were a couple of customers that left after waiting so long, and this is a pay-as-you-order type of place. Even with the long wait, service was pretty good. Everyone was nice and our coffees/water cups were always filled. Obviously we were getting irritated as our toddler was showing how patient he was by screaming, but everything got better once the food arrived. I ordered the Santa Fe crepe, which was delicious and was the perfect portion size. The crepe itself had a sweet flavor. My toddler's pancakes smelled heavenly that I just had to try. They were thick and fluffy, and also had a tad of sweet flavor. He didn't even need syrup with it. My husband filled up on his big bowl of oatmeal; said they make it exactly the way he does. Reached at the cafe around noon and there was about 12-15 minutes wait before someone attended. Once seated, order took about 30 minutes to arrive, but the food was worth it. The Santorini crepe was a standout - perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, and loaded with nuts. Definitely a must-try! The Abruzzo pasta had great flavor as well; while it was slightly undercooked for my preference, the taste itself was really good. My lil dude had a day off from school so it was the perfect opportunity to get some pancakes in our tummies. We rolled up to Mavericks' mid rain pour and the place was absolutely packed for a Monday. The staff was busy but that didn't stop them from being super friendly and helpful. They knew folks' names and took the time to chat and ask how folks were doing. 'T was cozy. The menu put us in a tough conundrum because everything sounded delicious even for a vegetarian. I eventually settled on the Eggs Blackstone while my kid opted for an "adventurous" grilled cheese. I added a pumpkin pancake because it's a pumpkin pancake and how can you not. All of it came out delicious. The pancake especially will be something I will still think about often. Out of town for a wedding and saw on Yelp this place had good reviews and a wide selection of food for brunch. I got a fruit bowl, it comes in a medium size bowl; you definitely your moneys worth, and included a wide variety of fresh fruit (grapes, blueberries, strawberries, watermelon, honey dew, and cantaloupe). In addition I ordered a side of Maple bacon, the strips were long and thick. To drink I ordered an Arnold Palmer; fresh lemonade and brewed tea; and a mimosa. For the mimosa they used Chandon Brut and the orange juice appeared to be freshly squeezed. Everything we ordered was delicious and used quality ingredients that were very noticeable. You walk up to the counter to place your order, take a number and pick your table. The interior is very warm and welcoming. Plenty of seating for solo or party's of two, four or six. We had mavericks catered for a baby shower and it was perfect! The food was delicious and aesthetically packaged which i loved. Mavericks was able to provide mains, sides, desserts and drinks. First timer and tried out the Americano. I wasn't able to take a picture, but it was a pretty basic breakfast. They forgot my toast and it's probably my bad because we left before checking our order. Came here for brunch on a Sunday morning and it was a great experience! It is a simple restaurant - you order at the counter and seat yourself. My partner and I shared the Half Moon Bay crepe and the Cote D'Azur. The crepe had spinach, cheese and smoked salmon, and the Cote D'Azur was an eggs benedict version of this same dish. Let me start by saying Mavericks is much more than just a creperie. They're a full fledged breakfast, brunch, & lunch restaurant. You seat yourself and order at the counter. The menu is HUGE. We definitely had ordering remorse when we saw someone's French toast come out. (Next time!) My omelette was seriously one of the best I've had in a long time, the fries were equally as good, and the rest was just as delicious. My boyfriend ordered the breakfast burrito and loved it so much he never saved me a bite! So that's always a good sign. I would definitely stop by Maverick's Creperie if I'm in the area again. You order at the front and sit down wherever you'd like! There's outdoor and indoor seating. I had the Tuscany crepe and it was delicious! It had chicken, pesto, mushroom, cheese, tomatoes and almonds. The flavors matched super well together. The other crepe is the TJ Fajita and it was also super good but it could have used some more spice. Overall, I would love to come here again. This place was bomb.com for breakfast. The woman who took our order was super knowledgeable of the menu and very kind. It's really cute in here, too. I'm not usually a waffle/pancake lover, but for some reason I have been craving them lately. The waffle was DELICIOUS! It was perfectly cooked and the batter they used was really flavorful and yum. I got strawberries and blueberries on top and I have to say, I'm a sucker for places that put fresh fruit on top rather than that wack syrupy stuff. I also ordered a coffee, which was enjoyable as well. Some breakfast spots go super cheap on the coffee beans, and this was not that way--by taste at least. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito--and he can be a little picky about them. He said it was really, really good and it kept him full until dinner. It came out really hot, tasted fresh, and was a good mix of ingredients inside of it. We visited this place on Black Friday. We didn't want to shop we wanted to go to the ocean. On the way tor he beach we stopped by Mavericks. We were glad we did. My daughter had one of their Savory Crepes and really enjoyed it. My wife ordered their French Toast with Walnuts which she liked and there were 6 pieces. I had a Denver Omelette with potatoes and Wheat Toast (excuse the Ketchup in the picture - I dug in before remembering to take a picture). The coffee is also really good also. It took almost 30 minutes for the food to be served, so don't go here if you are hungry and looking to grab something quick. The food was alright; the eggs in the benedict were overcooked and looked closer to boiled than poached. Came here around noon on the Friday before Memorial Day. It's in a plaza with a grocery store and next to Peet's coffee. They've done a nice job making it cute and cheerful. There were 1-2 tables already seated. They have menus when you enter + on chalk boards up top. You walk up to the counter to order and get a number, then they bring the food when it's ready. I asked for a savory crepe recommendation-- they recommended the Tuscany. I was in the mood for some chicken and mushroom (this also comes with pesto, provolone and tomato) and it was delicious. The side of salad was fresh, crunchy and refreshing! The beer batteries fries were satisfyingly crisp and crunchy. Hubs got the El Paso which is corned beef. The bread served on the side was fluffy and generously thick cut. Coffee came in cute mugs and was a good accompaniment. Overall, cute ambience and great food! Heading back up to the Bay from Santa Cruz we stopped here as the Yelp photos and reviews were great. Well, the ordering process is easy but the wait is very bad. While there were 8 food items ordered ahead of us, our food didn't arrive for almost 20 minutes. I watched as others ahead received their food one plate at a time, versus everyone all at once. My first clue that there was a problem today was that I ordered the spinach and mushroom crepe with the home fries and was told they had no more potatoes. Ummm, there is a store right next door. So, my hubby's food comes first followed three minutes later by mine. His Benedict came with great beer battered fries and the traditional two eggs with hollandaise. However, the tomatoes were Roma tomatoes which are typically NOT used this way and the eggs were overcooked aka, not runny. The sauce was also cold. I asked the wait person to re-do his eggs and they said okay. 15 minutes later and still no eggs. Of course, everything was cold in his plate. So I went to the entrance where the food was coming out and the woman said she told them to re-do the eggs but they were working on orders. I told her that the eggs should have taken priority. She had no response so I told her we were leaving. No apology, no effort to refund our meal. It's a great location for parking and the food looks good. My crepe was good and the simple salad of leafy greens that were lightly dressed and a sprinkle of carrots was good. I can't come back given this experience unfortunately. It's a Wednesday afternoon so it wasn't busy. Tables took a while to be bussed and cleaned. Crumbs were still on the chair. I had an iced green tea with lemon and my date had ice water with lemon. I had never been to Mavericks before and it is definitely not the best place for a first date. Too noisy and chaotic! They definitely don't skimp on meat either. While crepes can look like a small pocket of food, don't let it deceive you--this was just the right size for me, especially considering how flavorful/rich it was.
