Cinnamon and Raisin Bagel with cream cheese
Vivian T.

We stayed at an inn next door and decided to stop in The Press for breakfast. I got a house coffee and my husband got a latte. We both got their fresh bagels with cream cheese (they were very generous with their cream cheese!). We were able to get outdoor seating right after ordering so that was very nice.

I love their Huevos Rancheros. They make it just right: crispy, spicy, creamy and delicious!

Best biscuit!

Went again during NYE week and again the service was so sweet and helpful! Tried the bagel sandwich and was very impressed with the consistency of the bagel - crisp on the outside with a good rise and tender and fresh crumb inside. Grabbed it to go and went to Montara to enjoy the view, the warm day (for "winter.") The breakfast burrito was outstanding and the home fries were perfectly salted and so crispy. Another great experience here! Thanks to all the hard working folks at The Press!

Biscuits and gravy in a bowl.

Standing in line I believe I saw a plate with biscuits and gravy. Looked good. So I ordered that. I added two eggs over medium. It came in a bowl and had the eggs on top. No big deal, I moved the eggs to the plate. But the biscuits and gravy were all mixed together into a sort of stew. I couldn't eat it as it was so soggy. One employee asked if I was going to eat it and I said no. He just walked away. I needed a to go order as well. Ordered waffles and fruit. I ordered French toast for me since I didn't eat the biscuits and gravy. I get back to our AirBnB and there is no syrup or butter. I had to drive back to get syrup. They apologized and offered me a free pastry. I think there is potential here, but they absolutely missed the mark multiple times.

Food is tasty but this place is so unorganized. They forgot to make our coffee and when asked they made it and just left it with the cashier who didn't call out of names. The crab omelet and breakfast burrito were really good but service definitely lacked.

BLT and juice
Alexis C.

This would be a 3.5 but there's no half ratings. Came on a weekend for lunch and it was easy to sit outside on the patio. This place was nothing fancy, a no frills sandwich spot close to a bunch of sit down restaurants. There's no proper waitressing, you order at the register and they bring the food to you then you bus your dishes. I got a BLT and it was good, had a good size portion for what the price was. The juice was nice too, refreshing. I'd come back if I wanted to head to a quick and casual spot.

Outdoor ambiance

Such a cute breakfast/brunch spot. Came on a weekday morning and parking was pretty easy. I like how you order first befote sitting down. The food was actually flavorful, I wish they served it a little warmer since the food was room temp when we got it. Overall, we still enjoy the food and ambiance of the restaurant itself. Nothing too fancy, it reminds me more of your friendly neighborhood food spot.

Bagel breakfast sandwich
Olivia B.

I'm not sure why this place is so always crowded. The breakfast sandwich had entirely too much cream cheese, the egg was overcooked and really dry, and the bagel was pretty tough. I am not a coffee drinker, but my parents had coffee here and said it tasted really burnt. I also had a chai tea latte, which wasn't too bad, but definitely on the sweeter side. I live up the street and I haven't been back.

Went here on a Sunday morning, we were able to be seated promptly. You order at the counter here; the staff brings food and there are bins to put your plates in. We got the breakfast burrito x2 (shareable) and Greek omelet (along with a chocolate muffin and cinnamon roll). Breakfast burritos are sizeable and really tasty- enough for 2 people to share. The omelet was nice and hearty, the potatoes cooked to perfection. For the price point, the amount of food you receive is definitely worth it.

Assorted Pastries

I placed a custom order of 60 assorted pastries for our school's staff appreciation week. The Press was very easy to communicate with and happy to accommodate our order. They let me select exactly how many of each pastry we wanted. We got 10 ham & cheese croissants, 10 almond croissants, 10 blueberry muffins,10 lemon almond poppyseed muffins, 5 apple strudels and 5 scones. They boxed the pastries nicely and even helped me carry them to my car. The staff were very excited to have such a nice assortment of gourmet pastries. I'd highly recommend The Press for your custom pastry orders!

Biscuit

very busy on a cloudy Sunday morning! pretty good breakfast overall -- loved the huevos rancheros and super crispy potatoes. biscuits were a little thick + really didn't like that I placed my order over the phone but still had to stand in a long line of people ordering to pay and pick up (separate area for that would be nice)! My partner's veggie omelet was massive. Big fan of the Mexican breakfast options and menu in general. Lots of breakfast classics. they also serve lunch after 11:30 A.M. self serve coffee station, many GINORMOUS baked goods on display, fresh bagels available daily.. a neighborhood favorite it seems. Will note: when I went (Feb 2025) there was a $2 up-charge for any dish with eggs which is absolutely egregious when I've seen them in stock everywhere around the city. Suppliers may differ, sure, but it's the principle. Will not return until they get rid of that ridiculous fee

Biscuits and gravy. Different. But we loved it. Gravy is slightly on the watery side.

Super cute place. Seems to have plenty of street parking. Grab a cup of coffee and cross the street for a super nice stroll or do what we did and eat there then stroll. Dogs are not allowed inside where you order, but dogs are allowed in their outdoor seating area. They have a side door outside. Food was really good. Biscuits and gravy was different but super good. Chicken was great. My waffle was a bit too crunchy for me but if you like that then that's all you. Service was super friendly and fast. Prices were also descent. We'll be back for sure.

Chilaquiles with chicken
Carina F.

The food was so good, the house made tomatillo salsa was delicious and brought the whole dish together for the Green Chilaquiles. Coming back for that dish alone it was top notch. The lox bagel was fresh, and the home fries were the perfect crisp and so simple. Great spot for coffee, the peerless coffee drip & the ice vanilla latte hit the spot. The employees were nice and very chill. The location is so cute, smaller location & feels homey. A great local spot with the view of the ocean from afar.

It's was Mother's Day when we came here and the wait was pretty decent considering how many people were packing every restaurant everywhere. The nearly 40 minute wait was well worth it once we were served our meals. The stack pancakes were thick but very fluffy. So delicious. We loved the fish and chips too. Very crunchy and fresh tasting. My Dutch Baby pancake had a very interesting flavor profile and I would order this again when I come back. I highly recommend this brunch spot if you're ever in the Half Moon Bay Area. There's an outdoor seating where you can see private planes either departing or arriving. Such a treat especially for the kids. The restaurant is also dog friendly for outdoor seating which is nice. My husband has been talking about taking me here but never got around to until last week for Mother's Day and well, I will dare say, it was worth the nearly 6 year wait!

We're also…read morefans of the current owners of Jetty Wave, who are presenting a new incarnation of Joanne's under the name Ketch Harbor Pub. Curious about what the new/old place is like, our three-person family went there for a late breakfast today. Walking up to the front doors, the original inset stained glass remains. Walking in, the cool wood paneling and nautical decor remains in place with a couple of new touches. The fully appointed bar also remains, now with a more streamlined look with subtle lighting changes. We were greeted pleasantly and seated inside the dining room immediately; it was moderately busy and buzzing, not too loud. Our server was quick to our table, menu-knowledgeable and consistent in his attention to us. We had a Denver omelette, a couple of bennies and lemon ricotta pancakes to share. My omelette had particularly fresh and al fresca peppers and onions - wonderful. The lemon ricotta pancakes were sufficiently saturated and fluffy(hard to pull off)and came with fresh cream. The prices were at about the same level as the local competition, which pleasantly surprised us. It appears that the folks who did this breakfast/lunch reboot were shrewd in pricing their dishes. Jetty Wave, a drinks and appetizers adventure(which I heartily recommend as well for different reasons)in the northwestern part of Princeton, is not for the fiscally faint hearted. The only element that makes our experience short of a 5 is that we were not given a farewell when we left, though I was able to find our friendly server and thanked him. In all, the Joanne's legacy is intact - the old carved wood Ketch Joanne sign still hangs inside - literally and figuratively a homage to its legacy while bringing a new energy to this space. Recommended.

We stopped by for lunch on a crisp day, and it completely captured that perfect coastal vibe--think fresh seafood, laid-back atmosphere, and killer views of the boats and water. We started with the calamari, which was hands-down some of the best I've ever had: tender, not rubbery at all, perfectly seasoned and fried, melting in your mouth. The New England-style clam chowder was rich, creamy, with just the right subtle smokiness and balanced seasoning--definitely lives up to Half Moon Bay's chowder reputation. For mains, the Dungeness crab sandwich was the star: generous lumps of sweet local crab, minimal sauce (just how I like it), on toasted sourdough with fries on the side. My partner went with the fish and chips, and the cod was crispy, flaky, and not greasy at all--classic done right. The outdoor patio with fire pits was cozy even in cooler weather, and our server was super friendly, attentive, and full of local recommendations. The place feels welcoming, whether you're a regular from the Coastside or just passing through after a beach walk or harbor stroll. Prices are fair for the fresh, quality ingredients and location--definitely worth it. We've already added it to our list for the next trip to Half Moon Bay. Highly recommend if you're craving solid seafood in a charming harborside setting! 5/5 stars.

Everything was find at first and then they started seating people outside. The door was wide open to allow people to come and go. However, it was very cold outside and our table was near that door. We asked the staff to keep the door closed and they closed it most of the way, but blocked it open with a door stop. This still allowed a cold breeze to come right at our table. My wife's food got cold and she was feeling cold. The staff said that they could do nothing as the door automatically locks. The door was a standard push bar to open. These doors have a mechanism that can be used to unlock the door; however the staff either did not know how their door worked or were unwilling to even try to unlock it. So we were cold and ate cold food. The food itself was good. My wife enjoyed (until they got cold due to the wind) her Lumberjack pancakes with bananas and berries ($11.99) and a side of bacon ($5.99). I had a delicious side order of Linguica ($5.99) with a side of two eggs over easy ($4.99). They should really warn people before seating them by the back door on a cold day when they intend to use the outdoor tables.

Everyone was nice and our coffees/water cups were always filled. I ordered the Santa Fe crepe, which was delicious and was the perfect portion size. The crepe itself had a sweet flavor. My toddler's pancakes smelled heavenly that I just had to try. They were thick and fluffy, and also had a tad of sweet flavor. He didn't even need syrup with it. My husband filled up on his big bowl of oatmeal; said they make it exactly the way he does.
