We had our wedding dinner here and it was everything we could have asked for and more. We have been coming here for years and knew we had to have the food included in our special day. The food is always fresh and delicious. Many of our guests were first time visitors and loved the food, some even telling us they would be back when they are in the area. The Poc Chuc, Cochinita Pibil, and Chicken Adobo were favorites. For our group, the restaurant was the perfect size and I am so thankful they could accommodate us. Colleen helped us plan the event and she was so easy to work with. She took excellent care of us on the day of and was a true professional. Mitchell and Arturo worked so hard cooking and getting all of the food out and provided excellent service. My family loved chatting with them all at the end of the event. We love Café Capistrano so much and look forward to visiting for many years to come.

As soon as you walk in you know you're going to be fed well. Generous portions with a homestyle feel. We had the Grilled Fish Tacos (Red Snapper W/ homemade corn tortillas on the side) and the Panuchos (almost like a tostada) both were delicious! Friendly staff with affordable prices.. great spot for lunch 5/5

We were hungry after a hike along the coast and decided to stop by for dinner at Cafe Capistrano. The food was delicious. I really liked mexican chowder and shrimp fajitas

We love coming here when we come from Sacramento to have a beach day. Pick up some food and head to the beach. Always fresh and delicious. Staff is friendly and efficient. Highly recommend! I just wish you guys offered plastic containers as the grease goes through the paper ones pretty quickly.

This is a small restaurant in HMB. Situated in a house across from a middle school. Definitely a local establishment. Did not get a friendly server per other reviews. We ordered the quesadillas (Pork Adobe) and the Conchinita Pibil. Both were disappointing. The quesadilla was large and filled the plate. However the filing was very minimal. It was crunchy and dry on the outside and was probably a little overcooked. Our wait person brought out some homemade hot sauce in a bottle. The sauce was very watered down. A number of locals were there in the restaurant - clearly a local hangout. Maybe we caught them on a bad day but our experience was underwhelming.

Stopped by for an afternoon lunch, and the place wasn't too busy. It's a small, house-style restaurant with a capacity of 44. The staff was friendly, though limited--just two people, with one as the chef and the other handling multiple roles, including serving and hosting. We ordered the Jamaican lemonade, a unique and flavorful blend of hibiscus and cinnamon, along with a cheese enchilada and a chicken enchilada. The presentation was great, and the portion sizes were decent. However, the flavors didn't quite match the visual appeal. The enchilada sauce, made in Yucatán style, had a thick, slurry-like consistency but lacked depth in flavor. Overall, it was an okay experience, but the food could use a bit more balance in taste to truly stand out.

Welcoming place with a Nice ambiance. Has a ramp for those who need a gradual walkway. Plenty of parking. No need to worry about parking limits. Tasty food! Hubby had vegetarian fajita. I had their Mexican seafood soup. Both Delicious! Great service!

The biscuits and gravy were great and the hash brown portions were generous and crispy. We were on our way for a bike ride up Lobitos Creek and Tunitas. Curious about what the new/old place is like, our three-person family went there for a late breakfast today. Walking up to the front doors, the original inset stained glass remains. Walking in, the cool wood paneling and nautical decor remains in place with a couple of new touches. The fully appointed bar also remains, now with a more streamlined look with subtle lighting changes. We were greeted pleasantly and seated inside the dining room immediately; it was moderately busy and buzzing, not too loud. Our server was quick to our table, menu-knowledgeable and consistent in his attention to us. We had a Denver omelette, a couple of bennies and lemon ricotta pancakes to share. My omelette had particularly fresh and al fresca peppers and onions - wonderful. The lemon ricotta pancakes were sufficiently saturated and fluffy(hard to pull off)and came with fresh cream. The prices were at about the same level as the local competition, which pleasantly surprised us. It appears that the folks who did this breakfast/lunch reboot were shrewd in pricing their dishes. Jetty Wave, a drinks and appetizers adventure(which I heartily recommend as well for different reasons)in the northwestern part of Princeton, is not for the fiscally faint hearted. The only element that makes our experience short of a 5 is that we were not given a farewell when we left, though I was able to find our friendly server and thanked him. In all, the Joanne's legacy is intact - the old carved wood Ketch Joanne sign still hangs inside - literally and figuratively a homage to its legacy while bringing a new energy to this space. Recommended.

We stopped by for lunch on a crisp day, and it completely captured that perfect coastal vibe--think fresh seafood, laid-back atmosphere, and killer views of the boats and water. We started with the calamari, which was hands-down some of the best I've ever had: tender, not rubbery at all, perfectly seasoned and fried, melting in your mouth. The New England-style clam chowder was rich, creamy, with just the right subtle smokiness and balanced seasoning--definitely lives up to Half Moon Bay's chowder reputation. For mains, the Dungeness crab sandwich was the star: generous lumps of sweet local crab, minimal sauce (just how I like it), on toasted sourdough with fries on the side. My partner went with the fish and chips, and the cod was crispy, flaky, and not greasy at all--classic done right. The outdoor patio with fire pits was cozy even in cooler weather, and our server was super friendly, attentive, and full of local recommendations. The place feels welcoming, whether you're a regular from the Coastside or just passing through after a beach walk or harbor stroll. Prices are fair for the fresh, quality ingredients and location--definitely worth it. We've already added it to our list for the next trip to Half Moon Bay. Highly recommend if you're craving solid seafood in a charming harborside setting! 5/5 stars.

Food We ordered 3 burgers, a curry carrot coconut milk soup, and their cream dessert. Burgers were nice, but nothing super special. They were served on sliced bread instead of burger buns. What made the burger interesting were the pickled onions and over medium/hard egg. The soup was fun to try, but not amazing. Carrots could've been softer, the seeds had a fun texture. Coconut milk could've been more blended in. My husband enjoyed the dessert. Service A fairly neutral experience. There's a long line to order, the cashier is nice enough, and then they call out your name to receive your order. Ambiance It's a cute little restaurant just off of highway one.
