I was craving some BBQ and after reading reviews about Seahorse, my boyfriend and I decided to stop by. We were greeted at the door and after we asked if food was being served, the nice gentlemen went into the back to check what was available. We chose a plate of pork ribs and a plate of tri tip. We took our order to go and upon trying it at home, we were not disappointed. The tri tip was tender and not over done. Very tasty. But it was the pork ribs that really stood out. Came here on a limb, we already had dinner plans and my friends wanted to grab some drinks n food. Owner says he can make us 4 trays worth of meat one for each I mentioned it would be too much food right before dinner but they wanted extra to take home. After waiting over 40 min at an empty place he arrived w what seemed less than a tray of food w everything burnt and dry. When I asked for the bill he said $125 for everything. I was in disbelief he'd actually charge us for burnt scraps. I mentioned there was no way what we had was actually 4 trays of food. He didn't give a charged us anyway. Had a shitty shift at the hospital. I needed to decompress. Looked up a local place for pepperoni pizza for my daughter, alcohol, and good food. Found a gem in Pacifica. Walked in and the place is hella cozy. Sat my ass down in front of the fireplace with a cold one. The staffs who I assume are the owners are super chill & friendly (I apologize I was semi present, I was fighting shutting down IYKYK especially for those who work in trauma hospitals). The BBQ platter is amazing! The pork ribs just fell off the bone. So juicy, tender, and tasty. I was hesitant with the pork loin but it was delicious and tender. The dino rib did not disappoint either. I really loved the chili with a nice balance of salty sweet. Yes the pizza was hella good. The cheese pull was insane and had a nice crust from the fire. My daughter enjoyed the pizza and the pork ribs. She gave them a thumbs up. Kid friendly atmosphere because they did not get annoyed with her playing hopscotch and dancing. Labor Day Treat! I let the boys pick the place this evening, and it did not disappoint. We were immediately greeted upon entry and told what menu items were still available. The smell of the bbq kept me from reading the menu completely so I totally missed the smoked peaches and ice cream dessert. I ordered the giant beef rib and the guys got the smoked cheeseburger with bacon and a pepperoni pizza. We received our drinks immediately: Czechvar lager, Oatmeal Stout and Mango Beer. All were refreshing and delicious. Service was kind and it was obvious that Scott is proud of the food he serves. They checked in on us several times and made us feel welcome. I inhaled my beef rib. This was one of those rare occasions where I didn't feel like I was overpaying for my meal. They said the beef rib is always available, so when we are in Pacifica again, my fingers will be crossed for a seasonal dessert to finish the meal with. read more

Instant regret. Burger buns were somehow burnt and cold. Pizza was reminiscent of the "English muffin pizza" you'd make as a kid... but, burnt on the bottom. Lots of cheap tomato sauce included. They claim to be family-friendly, but when the employees are cussing up a storm and the guy behind spouts loudly, "I'm a card-carrying, Trump-voting republican" and complains about California politics. Safe to say it wasn't a place I'd ever bring my kids again. Service was OK, and the people seemed nice enough. But, this place is just a dive bar that dresses up like a restaurant to get some daytime traffic. However, they did have Mexican Fanta. So, an extra star for that. read more

Stopped by this gem on our Pacifica date to take refuge from the windy weather. Upon entering, we were greeted and seated immediately. We ordered the smokehouse burger and BBQ ribs plate. When I say this was the most tender mouth-watering burger and rack of ribs we've ever had..... WOW!!! You have to stop by to experience it for yourself. The ribs plate comes with a side of refreshing garden salad and potato salad which paired nicely with the smokiness of the meats. Definitely recommending to our friends to stop by! read more

Love this place. As a heads up they don't actually brew their own beer. Ask the owner for the story of how he came to own the place if you want very colorful details. Great food at fair prices were what drew me and my 3 daughters in midday on a weekend and kids are ok during the day at least. They also have a sit down video game console, but I'll let you discover the best part on your own. read more

Round 2 of visiting! Doors open this time! Was super excited to visit after reading reviews and checking out the killer photos on Instagram. Inside there was nothing to desire! I understand having one person working bar, as I do the same thing, but I don't have anyone waiting more than 5 minutes to attempt to order a drink! Tried to get a Moscow mule, since there was a sign indicating they have them, but found out they don't have them due to not having the ingredients, or rather we were told a curt "No I can't make that". Same thing with the mojito, as "they share the same exact ingredients ". If only Safeway was down the street and you had time before you opened at 5pm to go get the 3 ingredients needed. It's also extremely easy to change your signs for drinks, as they are ALL chalk boards (unless chalk is out as well). All the bar glassware was also directly on mats on top of the bar, with almost all of them being various levels of dirty! Behind the bar on the beer service wells is dirty, as well as the tables you can sit at! The lack of lighting made it a little easier on the eyes so you didn't have to look at the place around you. I understand the restaurant and bar business is facing hard times currently with a larger shift away from going out, but how this is being ran doesn't help at all nor does it seem like you truly want to succeed. read more

I went to this place yesterday when we were at the Fogfest 2025 festival. The blonde lady who took our order was extremely rude and was yelling at us. When our burgers were done they just sat there on the counter undelivered we were not sure if they were ours. When we confronted them the owner said he yelled our name multiple times which was untrue we were sitting right there. He should have walked around and asked instead of just letting them sit there for so long. The back patio table and chairs were filthy we couldn't even sit down . When we decided to return the burgers because we have not received them in a timely manner the owner yelled at us and would not offer a refund. We never got the burgers we just left them on the counter and left. This place was a joke and there are no French fries! I will never patron this place again. Very RUDE employees! read more

It's so great when you find a place that just fits. That's Seahorse. Thank you to previous Yelp reviewers who hit the nail on the head with the quality of service & interaction, as well as the homemade meats. We stopped in today, Friday 3/25/22, at 4:45 when there was just one other person at the bar. Immediately we were welcomed in and told the beer gal would get us a beer. Funny thing is...the beer gal is NOT a beer drinker. I find that hilarious...and endearing. So we started our journey to find me a beer that approximated a stout. Don't get me wrong...they had stouts in cans in the fridge...so they were there...but on tap they only had their Devil's Canyon Scotch Ale, which isn't a stout, but is an excellent stand-in. In the end, I went with the Scotch Ale, because beer gal had me try it and it was good. Meanwhile, the next customer who came in was also a woman who WANTED A STOUT! I'm not saying women don't often drink stouts...but come on...women don't often drink stouts. So right there I thought "I've found my people!" More locals came through...including Sanjay who was a lovely guy who has turned to art and was showing his latest artwork on greeting cards...then his son who was a lovely 17-year-old tornado of a being...a guy with a husky named Rogan....a woman who brought in Japanese cheesecakes to share - one plain, one strawberry - and another barkeep who really looked like beer gal's sister but was absolutely no relation to her. We ended up bottle sharing a beer that Sanjay had brought at some point and was in their fridge, and we pulled in a beer that we had just procured from our friend who is a nano-brewer and shared that with Sanjay, beer gal, Scott (the owner) and the girl who brought the cheesecake whose name I never got. Then....and this was the icing on the cake....the house-smoked food was ready. I had the salmon and hubby had the tri-tip. Oh. My. Yum. I'm telling you...that salmon was perfection. All this in a place we had never been, in a town we hadn't been to in forever, with absolute strangers. What a magical time...we couldn't have asked for more. Delicious sausage and outstanding House seasoned smoked pork chop! Need to come back for the ribs! Would have ordered but have to eat later at family house and can't feign hunger well anymore lol. . I gotta admit... I was reluctant coming to a place that's been open for a year with only 8 reviews. My first thought.. are they even open and did they survive COVID? Fortunately the answer is YES! I decided to go because I love smoked meats and it seems like a small mom and pop type joint run by a guy who's just passionate about food. This place was such a pleasant surprise. They have a decent selection of alcohol... beer, wine, mixed drinks for a very affordable price. They don't have any of their own brews for now but will be doing seltzers after the pandemic is over - cannot wait to come back and try their seltzer's. The food- I tried their smoked beef ribs and German sausage. Holy... their beef ribs were so tender and the rub and brown sugar touch at the end made it so flavorful. The German sausage was filled with cheese and who doesn't love cheese? I so wish that I lived closer to Pacifica and could become a regular here. I want to try all of his new food creations and everything he offers - seems like he's constantly experimenting with new food. Atmosphere- There is outdoor seating in the back patio, it feels like you're at your friends house eating on their backyard. They have a cute fireplace indoors and some TVs, probably a great place to watch some football on a Sunday while enjoying beers and smoked meats. Price- again. SO AFFORDABLE. Just look at the prices and you'll agree. A mojito was like $6, beer $6ish, ribs maybe $15-$18, sausage was $6. Overall I spent $36 on a beer, mojito, German sausage, and home smoked beef ribs. What?! I cannot rave enough about this place. The owner was also so friendly and it made me sad that Covid was taking away from his business. Seahorse Brewing takes you back to the drinking days of yesteryear. Seems like the owner love the Allman Brothers as much as he loves gently bullying customers. (Which I adore, and respect) Everytime I'm there, I can count on hearing Live at the Fillmore to be playing on the radio, some pretty solid beer options, and conversation with the mix of regulars and passerby's that just makes sense. Some might complain about not doing all the brewing in house, or having celebrity taps, I don't mind. Life's tough, wear a helmet, and don't let the tough love scare you away. read more

We sat down by the warm fire and 20 mins later, some other dudes by the bars started telling misogynistic wife beating jokes. "What do you call a girl with two black eyes?" ... "Nothing. I was so excited to attend. We stopped by two different times to see it was still closed when scheduled to open. No response on the phone. Then still went out of our way to try. Maybe if you can't take it you shouldn't dish it out. And maybe if you yourself are such a snowflake you can't take a bad review you shouldn't have a business. This place is super chill and has some good pizzas and they make all their own smoked meats! The patio was sunny and relaxing...there is a house turn table with some killer old time rock n roll vinyl playing. The inside has cozy lounge style seating with a relaxing fire place. I had a few really good beers including a scotch ale that was frigging awesome. Next time I'm in Pacifica I will be back!! The Sea Horse has been here since 2019 and is going strong. The in house smoked meats are not to be missed! Come have a beer or a glass of wine and sample the ribs or the tritip! Cheers!! read more

My new favorite place. Heading back home to HMB but Devils slide was closed and traffic was packed. Looking for a place to get a late dinner, we pulled up but Seahorse Brewing had just closed. The owner invited us in and when we told him we were looking to get food while we waited for the road to clear, he fired up the oven to make us a pizza . As we were chatting with the owner, other stranded motorists must have seen the door open and came. He took care of them just the same. Gotta love when someone goes above and beyond when it would have been much easier to not. No Dave Portnoy here but the pizza had a perfectly crisp undercarriage and tasty toppings. Asked for something "savory" and he nailed it with a 3 meat combo with mushrooms, olives and some heat from the pepperoncinis. Long story short, fun spot, nice people and a really cool owner who makes a great pizza. One pizza was enough for both of us but definitely ordering 2 next time. read more

We had the bartender walked up to us and harassed us continuously asking "what are you doing here" in a very assertive tone. We were attending the Pacifica Fogfest and decided to help out the local restaurants (instead of catering to the fair food booths). The street sign mentioning their smoked burger and tri tip at Seahorse brewery sounded great. Greeter at the door was nice and welcoming. The bartender recognized us quickly and took out order. Food service soooooooooo slow. Was this guy still hunting the cow? Needless to say that I wasn't the only customer waiting a lifetime for their food. 30 minutes...45 minutes...what is going on? Other customers asked and got a refund for their order since they couldn't wait anymore. By this time we were starving so I said I'd hold out a little more. A little over an hour wait and finally got our food only to be disappointed. The meat in the tri-tip was super dry (overcooked!) even though half of each slice was pure fat. The smoked burger was just ok (a little weird - a meatball in a hamburger bun?). As we were eating, I noticed that the other group next to us had also gotten a refund and were leaving. In the end, I found out that they shut down the kitchen and weren't taking any more orders due to the complaints and having to refund orders. Too bad, I think we all wanted to help support this restaurant. They should have gotten their act together and could have ended up with future customers each year at the street festival. read more

Last night was my first time visiting here and it was by accident. We were looking to get a quick bite and stumbled upon the Seahorse. The atmosphere was great they had a fireplace and comfortable couches plus a couple of TV screens that were all showing different things and music playing in the background. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and my sister ordered a pepperoni and mushrooms and to my surprised it was pretty good. The dough was crispy and fluffy. I also ordered a mojito and it tasted really good. I could actually taste the mint. The owners were friendly, welcoming and attentive. When we were about to pay they had issues with their internet so we had to wait a little until it was resolved. To my surprised the lady/owner offered us a shot of a new tequila at no cost, since we were waiting patiently. Now that's what you call great customer service!
