Definitely one of those spots that grew on me over time ! Service has been solid on recent visits. I'm already thinking about the next time we go back and I don't even live in the area Our friends brought us here for the first time, they mentioned they love this place and after trying it we understand! We were able to go just in time for their happy hour after 9pm. We got 4 different broths, sides, beef, tofu and veggies! The portions are VERY generous so if you're a couple, choose wisely cause it's A LOT. Love that the rice is unlimited and you serve it yourself as well as sauces, drinks and dessert. They have paper menus and a pen that you use to check off all of the items you want like flavored soup base(s), meats, veggies, seafood etc... you can keep ordering as you consume what you've cooked. Unfortunately, we couldn't tell the different in the cuts of meat. They all kind of tasted the same. By the end of the meal, the soup stock was more flavored from all of the different meats and seafood we had cooked in it. I wish there were a little more pre-mixed sauces to try. They had a large amount of bottled sauces that you could add to their basic base sauces, so you never got the exact same good sauce when you ran out. With tax and tip it came to $42.50 each. The restaurant has plenty of seating in the main dining room for parties of all sizes, and upstairs they have their VIP rooms with also comes with the option to have karaoke - so you can sing your hearts out while dining. Our party of 3 came in on a late Saturday night around 8:30pm craving some hotpot given the chill outside. We were seated quickly and all ordering is done off paper sheets that you can fill out with your selections. Something to note - you don't need to write in any quantity when ordering. Instead the staff will provide portions of food to your table according to the size of your party - definitely important to keep in mind to ensure you don't over order! We decided on their tonkatsu and house broth, while also getting a wide selection of meats, vegetables, mushrooms, and noodles. They also offer hot appetizers as well and they have some dinner-only selections that I would highly recommend including their salmon sashimi (it's fresh and delicious, trust me on this one) and snow crab leg. Some other dinner-only goodies that I love are their sugar pea sprouts and enoki mushrooms. Food is served fairly quickly and you don't have to wait long to dig into your meal. Drinks are included and you're able to help yourself to variety of canned beverages from the fridge located in their main dining room - this includes sodas, juices, and some Asian drinks including grass jelly and herbal teas (my personal favorites). During dinner they also offer a limited alcohol menu with sake and Sapporo beer. The unlimited canned drinks although so simple, truly makes the experience unique as you're able to enjoy a full meal with a beverage of your choice - I ended up finishing a total of 3 drinks by the end of dinner. A bit of a drive from where we were staying but wanted to check it out due to the price, variety, and the fact that drinks were included with the meal! We arrived around 5 pm on a weekday. It wasn't too busy and there were plenty of tables available. Parking is also available outside the plaza. The meat was good and there was plenty of vegetables. We got beer and sake included with the meal and also got to try other canned drinks from the fridge. I think the only thing that could be improved on is if they let you order individual portions instead of portions based on the amount of people at the table. We stuck with the hot pot and didn't order any additional dishes however we'll definitely try them next time! I have to say, the meat was top notch! It was sliced so thin that each piece was so tender and honestly didn't need much in terms of sauce! The highlight of the meal for sure! The soup base may have lent a hand to how tasty the meat was. We got their house soup base and their bone broth. They were both great and I felt like somehow seasoned the meat well even with how fast the meat. The veggies were fresh and they had a great variety but I mean who focuses on the veggies at an AYCE hotpot place haha! Okay so my asian genes tell me anything outside of the hotpot is tummy filler but we tried their ice cream and really loved them. They kept the temp of the ice cream so we could easily scoop the ice cream. The flavors we tried were mango sorbet, green tea, and sesame.
