I had the coconut pork bone soup and my hubby had the mushroom soup. Both were very tasty and the spice was spot on. They had a variety of meat choices and yes prime beef ribeye! You can either grill it or drop it on your soup. You can also create your condiments to dip your grilled meats. The rib eye, beef belly, pork belly were my favorites. You can tell the meats were of high quality and were fresh. You only need to grill the rib eye medium rare and wow it's amazingly delicious!!! Also they have a wide variety of appetizer, vegetable, seafood, tofu, I can go on! The Kalbi ribs as one of the appetizer was one of the best Kalbi I ever had. The marinate was sooo yummy and the meat was tender! The service was also amazing! They checked on us constantly and our orders came so quickly, it was unbelievable. Yes we were stuffed and happy! We had family visiting, so my husband made a reservation for a party of 14. He called a few days before, and I was glad that they were able to accommodate such a big party. Our reservation was at 7pm and the restaurant started to fill up. It's not that big inside, but they also have a few tables outside. Each person had their own burner, but since I was sitting at the end, I had to share it with my mom. Not a big deal since I always like the broth that she ordered. All of us ordered half hot pot/skillet, so we can enjoy both types of cooking. I liked that one person was in charge of ordering for their group to minimize confusion and multiple orders. The food came out quickly for us to cook. I really enjoyed the New Zealand Lamb and all the vegetables. I wasn't a big fan of the sauces that we were able to customize at the sauce station since they were just normal Asian sauces. Overall a great place to come for AYCE. Tried top pot last night with a few friends that absolutely LOVE it. To me, it wasn't the best hot pot I had but it was definitely better than a lot of other places I've tried and wasn't too expensive for AYCE. I did the half grill plate, half soup with a tom yum broth. Broth was delicious with a great flavor. The non cook items like the crab rangoons, spare ribs and sesame balls were great. I'm pretty sure I got my moneys worth in these items alone lol. As for meat, the ribeye was good but I felt like the rest were just okay. Fast service and attentiveness was great my water cup was always full. My go to is the tom yum soup but this visit I tried the coconut pork bone broth. My husband got the spicy broth and he liked it as well. Prefer the tom yum soup, the coconut pork broth was too adventurous for me. The atmosphere here is great and always cozy with the warm soup and family vibes. I like how they have high chairs for my toddler. I recognize one of the young waitresses with long hair and glasses their everytime we visit, didn't catch her name but she is super nice and glad she works there, this restaurant is lucky to have her. The kbbq pan is a little scary because it's so close to your body that the oil and stuff can pop really easily and hit your skin. There are not many bbq options, but I think they're more well known for their hotpot. My favorite thing on the menu was their custard buns which is part of the appetizers. Otherwise, I don't think there's anything outstanding about this hotpot restaurant in comparison to other hotpot places in the area. It's quite interesting to find two very similar hot pot restaurants in the same plaza in Pacifica. Where Grand Hot Pot lounge has all you can drink and stuff like walnut shrimp, Top Pot has individual pots and a unique BBQ half-plate. Overall though, Top Pot is quite average in my opinion compared to many hot pot places you can find in the area. First off - let me start off saying that just like gimmicky half hot pot, half bbq places like IPOT or Seapot, these places just tend not to do that well in either style because they aren't that specialized. You'll end up focusing on one over the other anyways, and their food variety aren't going to make either one taste amazing. For Top Pot though, Pros: *Great Coconut pork bone broth. I tried 3 of their broths and this one was actually good. The sweetness helps balance the salty food *Beef belly tripe - these had great texture and soaked in flavor well, probably the best "hot pot" item they have *Beef tongue - probably the best item on their menu and the only one I wanted to grill. They have nice cuts here that has good flavor on their own *great service and fast serving speed Cons: *Most soup bases are okay at best. Their spiciest soup wasn't really spicy, which was disappointing *their meat cuts were mediocre besides the beef tongue *there weren't specialized menus. Unlike Seapot, they didn't have a menu meant for bbq or a menu meant for hot pot. It was just once big menu, and most things shouldn't really be put on the grill, feels odd even with the gimmick *Price leaned a bit expensive given all of this. Every weekend we find a beautiful place in NorCal to visit and this time it was Cascade Falls and Muir National Monuments. On the way back, my son introduced us a hot pot place that he liked and this Top Pot was on our list to visit. On the way back from Muir Beach, we had to go through Golden Gate (now it's $9.75 - wow) to get to Pacifica on 101 to get to this restaurant. It's in a big shopping center with another hot pot, but this one is the one to try. It's close to the beach so we can get the sea breeze while staying out front, quite refreshing. It was a Saturday evening so quite crowded but we didn't have to wait. This is a very nice place, clean and simple. I was impress with the washroom, very clean, modern and everything is well stocked. The price is more than Shabuya or any other in SJ, $40/person but looking at the menu, and trusting my son's taste, I believe it's worth the money. We went to get the sauces for our dippings. I like the ponzu, sesame sauce mixed with some grounded peanuts, quite delicious. The sauce bar got every sauce you can think of to make your own. The menu has many things for you to choose from, I noticed the beef only has a few choices, ribeyes and beef belly, no briskets, toro or anything like that. But it has tendon and tongue and a few others like tripes. Quite many varieties for many different tastes. I do like it. The appetizer chicken wings are excellent and the crab rangoons are tasty. The service here is second to none for any restaurant. Everyone is extremely concern, pleasant, attentive and fast. To me for 1.5 hour limit to all you can eat, with this fast service, you can finish your meal in 40 minutes unlike many places taking their time to deliver the foods. The broth I chose was spicy soup with only 1 red pepper instead of 2 or 3. It's a very good soup. The meats, seafoods and vegetables are very fresh. The meats are cut thicker than many places so don't order too much. There's something new that I didn't know is that when I order something just for me, it came out with the portion of many. Like tripes, I should ask for a single instead of a big bowl of tripes and I had to eat it all because wasting food is a NO NO LOL. So make sure everyone in your table will share or ask for a single order. This is the first place that has Tong Ho, my favorite veggies, the Napa Cabbage is very fresh and crispy. The soft tofu and clear noodles everyone like. And a bonus, we had free dessert, green tea ice cream. My son wanted to try the plum juice drink but it's too sour so I had to finish it. It's quite good IMHO. One thing I noticed is the foods weren't frozen when they came to your table, so they cook very quickly in the pot, excellent way of serving. Came to Top Pot on a Saturday night with some family and friends to give them a go. We had a party of five and we got there around 6-7PM. The establishment isn't huge so there was a wait for a table. While the menu shows that there are options of family style hot pot and individual pots, there is really only one or two tables that have the family style set up. So you would most likely end up with your own individual pot, which means you get your own broth. For the individual pots, you are able to choose to do hot pot or a half and half with a grill. Our whole party opted in for just hot pot. I decided to get their salty pork bone broth while my friend went for their Malaysian bak kut teh. I believe all of their broths have the same base soup but the ingredients that it gets boiled with is the difference. In my pot, there were actual pork back or neck bones while the bak kut teh had a bunch of herbs. To be honest, I really liked the bak kut teh because I like the aromatics of the herbs. There is a sauce bar where you can mix your own sauce. I would definitely recommend it since the flavor of the soups aren't intense enough to make much of a difference. We got a bunch of different items: lamb, beef belly, beef tongue, pork belly, pork, ribeye, beef tripe, pork intestine, pork blood, frozen tofu, bean curd sticks, spicy fish fillet, rock cod fish fillet, fish ball with fish roe, napa cabbage, watercress, mushrooms, crystal flat potato noodles, biang biang noodles, etc. The meat quality isn't great but I find that to be pretty normal from my hot pot experiences in the Bay Area. Headed over for dinner with our table of 4 at around 8:45 and we expected a wait but they called us about 5 minutes after saying that our table was ready. When you're first seated, you choose your soup on the menu and label it under the shared pot table or individual pot table. Two of us opted for the BBQ pot, half grill half soup and the others the small pot which is only the soup. I ordered the miso soup which I always enjoy a lighter, less spicy flavor in hot pot and my parents really enjoyed the Malaysian bak kut teh and salty pork bone soup they ordered as well. On the other side of the menu, you are able to choose up to 15 items each round from meats, seafoods, vegetables and hot foods. They had a good variety of everything we usually like getting at hot pot such as beef tripe or fish tofu to different items like biang biang noodles, which were fun to try. The meats were the star of the show, really nice marbling and high quality taste. Our favorites were the pork belly and beef belly which were thin, soft and fatty. The prime beef rib eye and new zealand lamb were also good options, a little more tough but well enjoyed. The last meat we tried was the Kurobuta Pork which was too rough. We ordered some appetizers and dim sum too. Munching on the lamb dumplings, beef short ribs and shanghai pork soup dumplings while we waited for the items to cook. At the end of the meal, we got a choice of matcha or cookies and cream ice cream for dessert. Overall, we felt that 38.99 per person for this meal was so worth it from the high quality, fresh foods to very friendly servers coming by to place items down and make light small talk. I had a wonderful time last night having dinner at this place with family. One thing extremely unique at this place is that you could get the half-pot-half-grill option, and it's individual (and non-communal) too! So, of course we had to go with that option. Food: I love the selection of food that they offered. It varied very widely from meat, tofu, meatballs, seafood, vegetables, starch/noodles, appetizers, and desserts. for the meat, I really liked their beef belly, which is suitable for grilling or for the hot pot. For the vegetable, I enjoyed their watercress, which is perfect for hot pot. For the appetizers, their beef short ribs were everybody's favorite and we were so happy to see Chinese donuts as well. For the starch option, I would really recommend going with their Biang Biang Noodles, which then you could cook on your own in your hot pot or grill it too if you want to. After our meal, I got 4 of their fried sesame balls, which is one of my all-time favorite desserts; and the waitress also offered if we wanted any ice cream. That was nice. Service: the service here was so fast. So, even though they implement a 90-minute time limit for dining in (and they were pretty strict about it), that limit felt quite reasonable because they came out with our orders really quickly and we could really get our fill without feeling they were trying to limit our eating speed. Not to mention, all the staff were really friendly as well. Definitely 5 stars for the service. Price: at about $39 per person as of June 2024, I thought it was a reasonable pricing, given how stuffed we were after the fact. Ambience: while the restaurant was pretty tight and not super spacious, we got two tables for seven people, and we were able to sit and enjoy our food comfortably. No issue in that department. Parking: parking was really easy as well because this restaurant is located in the same plaza as other businesses, including a Safeway. So, parking was plentiful. read more

Let me start by saying the service is excellent here! That's what really gave me a good experience here, fast, friendly service and they're so attentive. However, my love for food makes me a tough critic. Sadly, the meat quality here was lacking. I personally didn't think the meat was great. When having hotpot, the meats are the main thing I'm here for. The vegetables and seafood were solid. I really enjoyed their selection of broths, especially more traditional Chinese broths like pork bone, century egg & cilantro and the herbal bah kut teh. Parking is pretty easy here, there's a parking lot across the street if you can't find street parking. read more
