    Tom yum soup
    Charlene D.

Everytime I visit the staff here are super nice and friendly. I like how you can have half hot pot and grill for your plate. Their menu is a check list, you can only order 15 at a time. Fast service and attentiveness was great my water cup was always full. My go to is the tom yum soup but this visit I tried the coconut pork bone broth. My husband got the spicy broth and he liked it as well. Prefer the tom yum soup, the coconut pork broth was too adventurous for me. The atmosphere here is great and always cozy with the warm soup and family vibes. I like how they have high chairs for my toddler. I recognize one of the young waitresses with long hair and glasses their everytime we visit, didn't catch her name but she is super nice and glad she works there, this restaurant is lucky to have her. I little pricey but for 3 adult and 1 two year old. But it was worth it. We Will come again! Highly recommend this spot for hot pot fans. FYI I visited this place quite a few times since it opened.

I love the variety of food options top pot has! The hot pot and kbbq combo is great if you have cravings for both. There's a sauce bar inside so you can customize everything to your liking. I enjoyed the miso soup broth and the fresh noodles had a great texture to it. We came on a bus Saturday night but the server was still very attentive to us. There was both indoor and outdoor seating, so it's great if you want to bring a pet! Great spot overall if you're in the mood for some good food!

We came on a Saturday evening with a party of four and were pleasantly surprised with only about a 5-minute wait, pretty quick for a weekend night! Top Pot is a great spot if you're torn between hot pot and KBBQ since you can do both. The meats were fresh and flavorful. The sauce bar is loaded with options to mix your dipping sauce. The biang biang noodles are a must try, it's chewy and the perfect texture! Bonus points for the complimentary ice cream at the end, which was a sweet and way to finish the meal. Overall, a yummy experience, and I'd definitely come back!

One of my favorite hot pot spots in the bay area!! Parking in the area is relatively easy - a couple spots right up front if you're lucky, and there's a ton of spots in the plaza just a little walk away. My friends and family usually arrive here a little after they open (4:30pm) and we've always gotten seated almost immediately. The interior's very clean, though on the smaller side but they also have outdoor seating! Service is friendly and fast! You get your option of a shared pot or individual (you can also do half hot pot half bbq if you'd like). Sauce bar has plenty options for you to make whatever sauce your heart desires. Ordering is also a breeze - just use the expo marker provided and mark what items you'd wanna order (15 item limit every round). Personally, I love the lamb, fried bean curd, and the short ribs. BONUS: They also offer free ice cream (matcha or cookies & cream) after you've finished :)

Fantastic hot pot! Met the owner who was the sweetest, and the staff were so nice and friendly. A little on the pricier side, but for what you get, it's well worth it. I got the miso soup broth with was on the lighter side, and paired well with the sauces. I really liked the beef belly, beef tripe, house special shrimp paste, and the fried buns with condensed milk. Food came out only within a few minutes of ordering too. Will be back!!

This one of my top spots for hot pot in the Peninsula! Parking is easy with ample street parking or parking in the lot nearby. We came on a Sunday for lunch right when it opened and the restaurant quickly filled up to more than half. The restaurant has seating for small and large parties. I also appreciate they still have clear partitions up between each table so there's a good separation from table to table. The staff are very attentive. They were always right there for extra orders and refilling broth. There's multiple options for how you want to share pots - individual or single or one pot split into 2. The broths are very flavorful. There's a great variety of options with all the classic hot pot sides. The lamb was our favorite meat and the biang biang noodles are a must get! They have a few dessert options like fried buns with condensed milk, sesame balls, and others. But they also offer ice cream.

FLAVOR (4/5): I like the soup base options here! I got the chicken and coconut soup and it was a really different spin on what I'm used to getting for a soup base. I didn't find it salty and it used real ingredients. The food selection is good, wish they had more option types for meats considering the price point. I like that they also have a good array of appetizers and desserts! Definitely save room for the fried sesame balls. INSTAGRAM WORTHY (5/5): Near the water and the pots are so stinking cute. I've never seen hot pot + kbbq combo look like this before. I am someone who likes to have their individual pot and now you can have your individual stove too! SERVICE (5/5): Very kind staff, always checks on you even if you're sitting outside. They even turned on the heaters for us. TAKEAWAYS: $40 for all you can eat hot pot and BBQ. Comes with some dessert options. Outdoor seating is dog friendly!

Super good value and very good taste! Great selection of all you can eat everything so you can go for a very macro-balanced and nutritious meal that is easy on the digestion too. This is literally placed in the perfect spot too -- just a mile away from Mussel Rock, a popular fishing beach. Get your refueling and warmth in here, you'll need it! Had a great time with two fishing buddies and we went back to the beach after dinner to burn off all the calories and catch more fish!

EXCELLENT SERVICE AND AMAZING FOOD! highly recommend for family outings, date nights, and friend hangouts! Keep in mind they are popular on weekends so come early to join the waitlist! I always recommend this place to people who want high quality meats and a cozy atmosphere for hot pot. I always save room at the end for the steamed egg yolk custard buns, 10/10!

Back at Top Pot! As always, great food and prompt service bringing our items. However, the older lady "Vicky" ran our bill and unfortunately we were overcharged for an extra person; there was only 2 of us. I almost missed it and paid. Melissa did assist us and revoke the charge after. Could be an honest mistake but definitely check your bill before you pay.

Every weekend we find a beautiful place in NorCal to visit and this time it was Cascade Falls and Muir National Monuments. On the way back, my son introduced us a hot pot place that he liked and this Top Pot was on our list to visit. On the way back from Muir Beach, we had to go through Golden Gate (now it's $9.75 - wow) to get to Pacifica on 101 to get to this restaurant. It's in a big shopping center with another hot pot, but this one is the one to try. It's close to the beach so we can get the sea breeze while staying out front, quite refreshing. It was a Saturday evening so quite crowded but we didn't have to wait. This is a very nice place, clean and simple. I was impress with the washroom, very clean, modern and everything is well stocked. The price is more than Shabuya or any other in SJ, $40/person but looking at the menu, and trusting my son's taste, I believe it's worth the money. We went to get the sauces for our dippings. I like the ponzu, sesame sauce mixed with some grounded peanuts, quite delicious. The sauce bar got every sauce you can think of to make your own. The menu has many things for you to choose from, I noticed the beef only has a few choices, ribeyes and beef belly, no briskets, toro or anything like that. But it has tendon and tongue and a few others like tripes. Quite many varieties for many different tastes. I do like it. The appetizer chicken wings are excellent and the crab rangoons are tasty. The service here is second to none for any restaurant. Everyone is extremely concern, pleasant, attentive and fast. To me for 1.5 hour limit to all you can eat, with this fast service, you can finish your meal in 40 minutes unlike many places taking their time to deliver the foods. The broth I chose was spicy soup with only 1 red pepper instead of 2 or 3. It's a very good soup. The meats, seafoods and vegetables are very fresh. The meats are cut thicker than many places so don't order too much. There's something new that I didn't know is that when I order something just for me, it came out with the portion of many. Like tripes, I should ask for a single instead of a big bowl of tripes and I had to eat it all because wasting food is a NO NO LOL. So make sure everyone in your table will share or ask for a single order. This is the first place that has Tong Ho, my favorite veggies, the Napa Cabbage is very fresh and crispy. The soft tofu and clear noodles everyone like. And a bonus, we had free dessert, green tea ice cream. My son wanted to try the plum juice drink but it's too sour so I had to finish it. It's quite good IMHO. One thing I noticed is the foods weren't frozen when they came to your table, so they cook very quickly in the pot, excellent way of serving. One thing great about the Bay area is we can enjoy all the best foods in the world without breaking the bank or not LOL. Will we stop by here again? My wife already said to take our daughter here when she visits us from NYC. So definitely. Yes it's worth the money because of the location and the quality of food and services.

Ask the Community - Top Pot

    How much per person?

Starts at $41.99 for adult lunch or dinner

Is it just one price? And, do they serve wine or beer?

One price for adults and one price for kids 4-10. They serve alcohol - beer, sake, soju, and wine.

Will they hold tables for a party of 19?

The restaurant is very small. To hold 19 people is possible, but it might take up half the restaurant. I would call them ahead of time to make sure.

    Are reservations during lunch recommended?

No first cone first serve its better to go there early

Do u have to make a reservation if your having a big party?

    no reservations

Are the any of the soup bases vegetarian/what options are there for vegetarians? Thanks!

They have the Miso soup base. I ordered vegetables (limited) but they also have tofu. Enjoy!

Hi. Can we bring a cake for after dinner?

Yes you can! But keep in mind we do enforce a 90 minute time limit if it's very busy. If there is no wait out the door, we're more lenient for cake time :)

Which broths are not made with red meat?

Which is the best broth/soup if I don't like it too spicy?

    Salted Pork Bone!

    Open for lunch in weekdays?

Nope. They open at 4:30 on weekdays. Lunch is offered only Saturday and Sunday. That being said, if you're a hot pot fan, it doesn't get much better than this.

Is it all you can drink?

    No, drinks are separate.

If I go for 4 peoples and I can chose squad pot and half pot half grill? Or 4 peoples same one choice?

The tables are set up for either individual pots or shared pots. So once you choose individual pots, everyone can either between half pot/half grill or just individual pots. And for the shared pots, you can choose either 2 or 4 broths.

Are all your soups meat based?

    Do they take reservations?

    Yes.

    Are you going to reopen?

    They reopened 5/5!

Are they open back up for dine in?

    YES they are now

Location: located in Daly City and next door to a Seafood City (the Filipino HMart). The strip mall-esque location is unassuming in a residential alcove, but perhaps that's why it's a hidden gem. When: we chose to dine in right as the doors opened at 11:30AM, I believe we arrived right after 11:40AM to a nearly empty restaurant. While the restaurant did fill up after 12PM for the lunch rush - service and offerings were very ample. The Welcome: a blend of glass, black furnishings along with Chinese tea decorations; the restaurant itself, while not vast - one can be seated at a table or at a booth with shared/individual pots, in addition to shared barbecue plate. Service: one of the draws for my friend (multiple visits), and myself as 1st timer; service was not only consistent, frequent, but also friendly. 10 minute increments with up to 9 items delivered by a robot and then placed onto our table by hand, broths and beverages refilled, and waiters checking on tables if anything is needed; showed a deep level of attentiveness and caring-ness. The food: while a table cannot do both barbecue and hot pot at the same time - hot pot can be enjoyed from a shared pot, a non-shared individual pot and something I have never seen (non-shared individual split half and half pots). My party & I: - non-shared individual split half and half: tomato/sukiyaki , I don't remember the other two pots, but that we each enjoyed our pots. - Just to name a few: Wagyu, pork belly, lobster balls, seafood platter, lamb, multiple cuts of beef, chicken wings, beef tripe & tendon, enoki mushrooms, fried bao with condensed milk, grilled sticky rice with brown sugar, etc. I cannot name all of what was ordered, but know that we left extremely full. Final Thoughts: $30.99 pre-tax for 1 (weekend pricing) is a steal for all you can eat in the Bay Area, and is an amazing deal for quality food and excellent service.

Pros: the Tom yum and tomato broth were both delicious and full of flavor, especially when it reduced. Someone in my group said their fries were some of the best they've had. They were crispy yet soft, hot, and moist in the center. The Chinese fried donut was also a big hit. The sauce bar selection is large and well stocked. There is also a self serve veggies, tofu, and noodle section. Cons: the quality of the beef belly and wagyu were both severely lacking. Every order comes with 2 pieces, so we had to place over 10 orders to have a reasonable amount for one round of meat. The lamb and pork belly were both a lot better.

It's not AYCE, but the portions are generous, and each order comes with a good variety and amount of veggies. I also loved their sauce bar. It was very clean, organized, and easy to use. Having the sauces dispensed from spigots is honestly genius. Another thing I appreciated was how deep the individual hot pot stoves are, instead of just being a flat surface. There's a self serve sauce bar where you can make your own combination -- I recommend trying the satay at this location; it added a nice, salty meaty flavor to the sauce combo I had. You can order through a QR code, and from there you're able to select the meats, toppings, and broth you want. It isn't AYCE, but I think the pricing and the quality of the ingredients make it all so worth it. Everyone gets their own individual pot and cooker. So for my broth, I chose the Tom Yum -- I personally don't really like the tartiness and tomato flavor of the broth but I enjoy its spice. I do wish they had a spicy miso option .. But everything else makes up for this imo!! We got the wagyu beef options, the toro was definitely a favorite -- they were all great quality and fresh. Wasn't too fatty, and had beautiful marbling on each slice that was perfectly thin for shabu. For sides, I chose quail egg, fried beancurd sticks, and fishball with roe. It offers you a source of carbs -- which I will always choose udon... *_* hehe Food did take a bit to come out but that was because we were a party of six, so I didn't mind the wait too much. But when it did come, I love how they give you more toppings in your order -- like the addition of veggies like napa cabbage, spinach, bok choy, and broccoli then mushrooms like enoki and shiitake! For the toppings we ordered, they always give such a generous amount which I can appreciate because the platter we ordered is for two people after all. Still, it can be a lot and filling. Inside, tables do get filled pretty quickly but everything is clean and slick-- it feels quite cozy and warm and makes for a great atmosphere and experience to have hot pot with your loved ones. I definitely would come back here again for solo dining or with friends/family! Do not skip out here .. ^_^

There's metered parking in front and street parking a bit further. The restaurant is very clean and modern. They have free snacks at the front as you wait. We got the basic AYCE menu and for our broth, the split with spicy and bone broth. Their broths are very good; full of flavor and depth. Love that they have a lot of whole garlic pieces in the broth that you can eat throughout the meal. My gripe with Happy Lamb is that they charge $2.99 for their sauce and dessert bar. I personally feel like access to hot pot sauces should be a given for hot pot. They should separate the dessert bar and make that an extra cost rather than bundling it with the sauces. Or for parties who opt into the AYCE option should have access to the sauce bar. With the number of hot pot places in NorCal that have many different offerings, I don't think I will be returning here.

They have a lot of options and combos just make sure you look carefully. Bathrooms are clean. They have sake, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks. You can do single up to 4 soups. Be careful some of the broths are spicy but doesn't say so make sure you ask. Meat quality is greattttt. A lot of veggies and soup options are great, try the unique ones. I heard fish maw chicken broth is the best. Their spicy level is spicyyyy, not American style so aim low can always go up not backwards. My friend ordered and messed up we were stung but the owner Kenny was so nice said they usually don't replace broths but they knew it's our first time and we were dying and that service made the experience that much better cuz it showed they cared. Honestly, ask for recs and it'll be worth it. Also the food platter is good for pics, but i recommend ordering meat one by one so you can try more. Beef tongue was good, premium angus was good. I wanna try all the other meats. My friend ordered the grand beef platter it's one type of beef, it's good but there's better options. My friend ordered tom yum we died from spice. He also orders spicy mala he was dying pretending he was fine. We had to switch to pork bone. I would do pork bone, tomato, and fish maw/chicken. Great service great food, just do order spicy stuff and it ruins your taste buds. Thanks Kenny.

Stumbled upon this hot pot place to have a quick fix of easy hot pot. I was pretty happy with the…read moreside dish (chill oil tripe) offered with the sauce bar ($3.5) until my main course was served. It's a fixed set with 9 different ingredients (Tofu sheet strips, kelp knots, vegetable, spicy chicken gizzards, quail eggs, mystery spicy beef, beef omasum, numbing beef tongue, and pink jelly beef) plus a selection of beef or lamb. The vegetable was ok. But there were some really suspicious items served. It appeared that they served low quality meat and in order to tenderize the meat, they add baking soda and water into the meat then pour a large amount of oil to create a sealing layer. You can see from the photos the translucent pink jelly appearance and foamy substance. The thin-cut beef was really lean (I over heard other tables were complaining), which I don't mind. Service was great so I didn't give it a 1star.
