Bar and bar seating available... - The image shows the interior of a bar with three patrons seated at the counter. Behind the bar, there are numerous bottles of alcohol arranged on shelves. Two television screens are mounted on the wall, displaying different images. The ceiling has track lighting, and the decor includes framed pictures and signs. The overall setting appears casual and dimly lit.

Everything was great in this place...the food, the service and the ambiance. The only bad thing here was the presence of an old lady (maybe the manager or owner?) who constantly kept yelling out to the staff! Very bad manners. If you need to dress down a staff member, it should be done privately. Other than that, this place deserves a lot of merit for food quality and service! We came in on Valentine's Day so the place was packed to the brim. The staff handled the load quite well! The price was reasonable for the amount of food served. I think the seats at the tables by the bar area need changing - some parts of the seats were already lumpy. When you're in the area and feeling the need for good food, try them out...

We stumbled across this hidden gem of a vintage steakhouse along highway 1 late at night after a long day of fishing on Pacifica Pier. It was our last night vacationing in California from Hawaii. It felt like a slice of history - a luxury dining establishment/old train station from a bygone era. I can only imagine what a destination this restaurant must have been for weary travelers at the turn of the century. As you step inside, old lit up dioramas of trains decorate the entryway - like a museum. As you walk further in, an antique fireplace with a worn plush armchair invites you in. It was surreal - my husband and I felt out of time and space. "Oh s*%#*" he said as we scanned the aging establishment decorated with aging photos and plaques accumulated over many decades. You could tell the place used to be really upscale but its grandeur has faded throughout the years and now the place feels a bit like a dive bar on the side of the road. We turned the corner - no one was there. The carpet looked like it had been walked on for a century. The air was a little thick but otherwise smelled fine. There was no one to be seen. *Oh s*%#*" my husband exclaimed again. Finally around the back of the restaurant we found the server and and waiter waiting on some guests in the back room. We were seated right away. We ordered prime rib, clam chowder and Manhattans. Surprisingly, the food was top notch. We were provided complimentary warm sourdough bread with butter. The portions of prime rib were HUGE and the meat was tender and cooked to perfection (see photos). One serving was enough to 4 people generously. The clam chowder was so original and delicious - their own original recipe. Light and refreshing but still thick and creamy. We ordered a couple of manhattans - which were served in bucket glasses with coffee straws. The prices were remarkably low for what you get and we went home with leftovers for days. I really hope this place stays in business so we can visit again in the future. Let's hope it doesn't become a relic of the past. I recommend visiting this place at least once before it's too late!

    Best crab sandwich and fries!!!

Still the best crab sandwich in the Bay Area! And didn't mention the perfectly cooked fries too? I don't know what they do, but it's always crispy outside and soft and juicy inside and they travel well. The burgers are great too. The owners Barbara and Denise are nice to talk to too. We always stop by whenever we are in Pacifica. Stop by and you won't be disappointed.

We came here for their Fri/Sat/Sun after 5pm prime rib $39. It was alright. It wasn't anything fancy. For +$3.50, you can get either a salad or soup of the day. Today was clam chowder. As for the sides, you can choose between creamed spinach or cooked vegetables, either a baked potato or garlic mash potatoes. I asked for gravy on the mash potatoes but gravy was not available. My prime rib came with a bone but my friend's didn't. Both were thick and didn't leave us hungry. As for the meat, it got tedious to eat toward the end as it was a lot food. My guess is around 16oz. The quality was OK. It is not herb crusted nor aged that long. They should have dry aged it a bit more for the enzymes to develop a more complex flavor. As for the dining experience, no wait on a Friday night, unlike HOPR or Westlake Joe's. Vallemar Station puts glass on top of table clothes with paper napkins, yes, that kind of vibe. The bartender lady must be at least 70 years old. The waitstaff is young and energetic. There's a huge TV at the bar and also the dining room. It reminded me of how Val's in Daly City used to be, but a notch lower. Free bread. Service was excellent.

I got the steak sandwich medium rare and it was really good! Don't expect a fancy bougie ambiance inside, think more of an old mom & pop dive bar. Not the type of scene for everyone but I don't really care about the interior as long as the food is good. Service was good in my option, they weren't busy when I went. The owner reminds me of a New Yorker in terms of her vibe. Blunt or tough on the outside, but actually nice. I'll be back next time I'm in the area and in the mood for meat.

Vallemar Station Deep Fried Calamari - A plate of deep-fried calamari with lemon wedges and tartar sauce is placed on a wooden bar counter. Behind the plate, there is a glass of beer, a bottle of ketchup, and salt and pepper shakers. The background shows a bar area with wooden cabinets and bar equipment.

I returned to Vallemar Station to watch an NFL playoff game, and it was nice to catch up with Denise and her mother. She remembered how I used to come with my family and coworkers for happy hours and dinner, even remembered how my daughter liked the eggs Benedict they made. I ordered the spicy calamari, which is pretty much how I remember it, hot, fresh and delicious. The French Dip that I ordered also was tasty, and the new French fries it came with were well-seasoned, hot and delicious. I will have to come back for the crab sandwich with my wife, because she loves to get that when we are out, but I can't recall the last time that we ordered it. Thanks to Denise and the entire crew for taking care me, providing excellent service!

Crab Sandwich - A white plate holds a crab sandwich made with toasted bread, filled with crab meat. Accompanying the sandwich are French fries and a small side salad consisting of lettuce, a slice of onion, and a pickle spear. The plate is set on a table with a white tablecloth, and a fork and knife are placed nearby. In the background, there is a ketchup bottle and another plate with similar food.

Delicious food, friendly service, and plenty of history at this family owned and operated restaurant. Originally a train station from 1910-1920, now they serve classic American dishes with great flavor. We tried their crab sandwich which was super fresh and everything from their fries to their seafood was a 10/10. Please support this family-run business!! Keep businesses like this alive in the Pacifica community! It's a classic institution with a great ambience, you won't regret the visit.

Came by with my mom and brother for Mother's Day brunch. We've always talked about trying this place out whenever we come to Pacifica but today we finally decided to stop by, and we're very pleased. I got the BLT on sourdough, my mom got the seafood combo, and my brother got the patty melt. We all thought the food was amazing. Good service. I worked in food service for 10+ years so I alway pre-buss the table before we leave honestly it's just out of habit now, but the busser noticed and was really nice and expressed his appreciation. That was such a nice interaction! Our server was really nice and on top of checking on us and getting us refills. And my mom and I just loved the table settings, we really noticed the attention to detail. Perfect stop for a Mother's Day brunch :)

I came here for a special birthday meal, and while the bill at the end gave me little heart palpitations, the overall experience was great although I would have appreciated a birthday nod like free dessert or a something. I felt bad about the lack of bday recognition but you live and learn. The vibe here is interesting--it's a bit of a "tale of two rooms." The bar area is dark, moody, and has that classic lounge feel, while the dining side is bright, bustling, and alive with conversation. But let's be honest: you're here for the view. Looking out at the ocean is truly breathtaking and adds a layer of magic to the meal. We started with the prawns appetizer which was a solid setup for the main event. We loved the tangy tartar sauce that paired well with the fried prawn and did not make us feel bloated or greasy. The Crab Sandwich is the star of the show. At first glance, it's a simple "no-frills" situation--just a massive pile of fresh crab and mayo on bread but it is definitely a winner. Theres a reason why the prices don't stop these baby's from flying out of the kitchen faster than the boy's can serve them. Our server, Armando, mentioned that the sandwich is big enough to share. However, since it was a birthday, I figured we deserved our own! It is absolutely huge. I added avocado to mine, but fair warning: it was nearly a $4 upcharge, which felt a little steep. Speaking of the service, Armando was a gracious host and an even better server. Even though we were there close to closing time, the staff remained incredibly attentive. We never felt rushed, and the service stayed top-tier until the end. Now here's my take, for two people (sandwiches, avocado, prawns, and $4 sodas--not sure if refills are free!), the total came to $144 before tax. It is definitely an investment. Between the "market price" crab and the premium add-ons, the costs add up fast. I won't be a weekly regular at these prices, but for a special occasion where you want great service, delicious seafood, and a world-class view, I highly recommend it. I can't wait to come back for the next big celebration!
