City Grill is a to-go only restaurant. The food tasted OK. My order was a spaghetti and meatballs $14 and footlong sandwich $13. The spaghetti had a strong tomato taste served with garlic bread. The sandwich was a thin sandwich that tasted a like a supermarket sandwich. Perhaps I should have ate that sooner before the bread got moist. I went here bc I heard so many good things and I was craving pancakes and looking forward to the special butter that classically comes with pancakes. I was hoping to eat there solo but they did not allow you to stay. I had to order my food to go and had to wait out in my car until it was done. It's 2023 but it was as if it was early Covid by the way the restaurant was set up and run. I got my food and went home and was disappointed. My first review since joining the elite squad. Visited some relatives in the sleepy town of Pacifica and stumbled upon this little hole in the wall, City Grill. After talking to the owner while waiting on my order, City Grill has been struggling to come out of the pandemic. They currently only prepare takeout orders to keep their family safe. I noticed many family run businesses only do takeout too and this really hurts revenue for many of these restaurants when they don't open up their dining rooms. I hope after this review that people would help support this business. City Grill has kept most of its menu at pre-inflation prices which I thought was great. Their menu consist of many American favorites such as pastas, steaks and burgers. I chose the City Grill burger with fries and it was delicious. The burger itself was quite large and had bacon, grilled onions and avocados. The portions were off the charts and I especially liked the fries which was so crispy on the outside and so soft in the middle. Recently we as a family have been depending upon City Grill for eating out, of course, "eating in" at our home. We have found the food to be well prepared and delicious. Of all the food items they prepare, it seems to me that the hamburgers are quite exceptional. We also like the beef and steak dinners. We like the fish dishes also, but we would like to have a little more fish on the plate. I would recommend City Grill for any last minute situation. You wouldn't need to worry about being disappointed. Time and time again we have gone for "take out" elsewhere, and we have felt disappointed. I always love city grill! I don't really know why either, thier food doesn't knock your socks off or anything. They are just a good solid local spot! The service is always top notch, the owner is so helpful and really takes the time to get to know her regulars. You feel appreciated as a customer at city grill. I'm always partial to the hamburgers. I love city grill! Affordable and delicious cafe located in the BOV, it's tucked away and conveniently located in the Park Mall with plenty of parking or walk-ability if you live nearby. I've lived close to CG for years but always overlooked it - not anymore. This is my go-to breakfast spot on the weekends: great service, affordable, and perfect portions. Love everything about our experiences with Cindy and City Grill. We understand her decision to go take out since Covid, but we do miss visiting her restaurant. She is so sweet to remember our orders right down to the specifics, as we pretty much get the same each time. My husband gets the lamb chops, medium. I get the bacon cheese burger. Well, no onion. Spontaneously looked for a quick lunch because we were starving and found this place. At the time I came here, this place was take out only so when our food was ready we ate in the car. Surprisingly, the food turned out to be delicious and my husband even said when we're in the area to grab food from here again. The sandwich bread was not too fresh and probably not their niche per my husband's opinion. The steak fries and onion rings were fresh tasting. My daughter liked her chicken nuggets and she is a picky eater. I really like my spaghetti and meatball too. The tomato sauce was not too sour like some places. The noodle was al dente style and it was perfect. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious lunch. We plan to order from here again, even if it means eating in the car. The only way we learned about this place was from a Pacifica local me and some friends knew from surfing. We were in the mood for something different after getting out of the water and he told us of one of favorite places to get a little grub. This little greasy spoon was in a quiet little strip plaza, and quite honestly I would have had to become hopelessly lost if I were to have the remote chance of stumbling upon this place. One thing I really liked was the fact that they serve breakfast till 3 PM. I had the Hawaiian breakfast which was eggs, corned beef hash and sausage over rice. A very rich and hearty meal but after being in frigid water, dodging the close-outs and dealing with the biting winds something like this is a great way to warm up your tummy. Some friends of mine shared some hot wings which were fried and tossed in a vinegary Tabasco like sauce, pretty good. My friends had some pretty decent burgers, they came pretty well cooked, word of warning the double burger sizes are huge!!! Also their fries are pretty damn good too! Price wise it is a little more then I would normally spend for breakfast, but having breakfast for lunch it is OK, but if you think about it, considering the massive portions I guess it justifies the price. If you need a nice quiet place to unwind and catch up with some friends sitting a booth, it might be worth a stop. read more
