We came here for the first time two weeks ago after a friend recommended it. All three times we got the city grill burger and it is consistently delicious! Cindy and Dennis are great! Cindy has been super friendly and accommodating! We will be frequenting this establishment more often!

Great food and friendly service. I always try to stop by and order some food when near. Take out only though. Portions are good size and the Ribeye 16oz was delicious.

My first review since joining the elite squad. Visited some relatives in the sleepy town of Pacifica and stumbled upon this little hole in the wall, City Grill. After talking to the owner while waiting on my order, City Grill has been struggling to come out of the pandemic. They currently only prepare takeout orders to keep their family safe. I noticed many family run businesses only do takeout too and this really hurts revenue for many of these restaurants when they don't open up their dining rooms. I hope after this review that people would help support this business. City Grill has kept most of its menu at pre-inflation prices which I thought was great. Their menu consist of many American favorites such as pastas, steaks and burgers. I chose the City Grill burger with fries and it was delicious. The burger itself was quite large and had bacon, grilled onions and avocados. The portions were off the charts and I especially liked the fries which was so crispy on the outside and so soft in the middle. For a little hole in the wall, the food and price was outstanding.

Recently we as a family have been depending upon City Grill for eating out, of course, "eating in" at our home. We have found the food to be well prepared and delicious. Of all the food items they prepare, it seems to me that the hamburgers are quite exceptional. We also like the beef and steak dinners. We like the fish dishes also, but we would like to have a little more fish on the plate. I would recommend City Grill for any last minute situation. You wouldn't need to worry about being disappointed. Time and time again we have gone for "take out" elsewhere, and we have felt disappointed. A family or a person can always depend on reliable service and product at City Grill. I rest my case.

Their baguettes were great and their Irish Soda Bread was surprisingly delicious! I saw this place pop up on Check Please Bay Area and decided to give this place a shot while I was around in the Pacifica Area. I was genuinely surprised it was located in an old outlet/plaza and felt slightly out of place vs all the other older shops but after stopping by here, I can definitely say it was like a gem in the rough that was well worth the visit. The wait time here was a bit long at around 10 in the morning but oddly the line died down quite quickly at around 11 onwards, so it seems like the wait time can fluctuate throughout the day. Decided to order a few sweet pastries, pizza, and baguettes and after trying a bit of each one, they were all great in quality and freshly made. It was also my first time trying an Irish Soda bread and I have to say it was like a very dense pound cake with dried fruit inside and thoroughly enjoyed it! All the staff here were very friendly and felt very welcoming to enjoy a brief stay here for my baked goods and coffee (coffee was also great quality too). If I'm ever back in Pacifica for whatever reason, I can definitely see myself making a bit of a drive to stop by here for more. Check Please Bay Area wasn't wrong and I'll also give my recommendation as well for others to give this place a shot too.

A lot of pad thais at different restaurants often are too sweet, or "ketchupy" but Kan Kiin's nailed it. Salt Pork Belly is a great meat choice, probably everyone's favorite that night. Green curry was excellent too. Service was great and restaurant ambience was very clean and modern. Will definitely be back!

The service was on point the whole time, which made the experience smooth and enjoyable. Food wise, it was a bit of a mix. The matcha pancakes looked amazing and the cream on top was really good, but the pancakes themselves were a little on the dry side. The noodles were actually a pleasant surprise and very different from what I expected but really tasty. The wings were super good too, especially with the sauce on the side so you can control how much you want. The clay pot dish was just okay, nothing bad but nothing that really stood out either. The highlight for me was definitely the steak and eggs! it was cooked well and probably the most satisfying dish we ordered. Overall, it's a solid spot with great presentation and good service, but the food didn't completely wow me. Not bad at all, just not something I'd go out of my way for but still worth trying at least once.

I mostly come here for the espresso & to practice Italian with one of the cashiers who is a native speaker. They throw on a basketball game and sometimes if it's super slow, the staff will come out from the back to watch. The setting is pretty small, four or five tables indoor seating only w/ ethnically Italian artwork strung along the walls w/ a REALLY nice interior paint job. I've enjoyed their panini sandwiches & some pasta dish (can't recall the name). Have yet to be disappointed by Buona Italia Caffe! It seems like they also take reservations for larger parties, I've came in a few times where three or four of the tables are strung together for family dinners. The business appears to be family owned & operated. Keep up the awesome work & thank you for being a centerpiece of Pacifica culture. Ya'll are the cat's pajamas! LOL

The gentleman that took our order was very polite and helpful. We ordered: 1. Clam linguine- small portion for the price, and lacked flavor. It tasted more like butter noodles with a side of clams (this was Mentioned by other yelpers). 2. Chicken Parmigiano- it was edible but it was drenched in a marina sauce that tasted like tomato sauce. There wasn't much season or salt. Normally the sauce serves as a compliment to the chicken cutlet. The chicken was drowned in the sauce to the point it became soggy. The green beans that were served with it were actually cooked perfectly. 3. Homemade gnocchi- another dish that was drowned in tomato sauce which caused the gnocchi to be overcooked. We were really wanting to enjoy this place. And for the first time all of the low star reviews were spot on about this restaurant.

There are some drawbacks like the wobbly tables that never seem to be fixed, excessive dust accumulation above the bench seating, and sometimes the barista playing music too loud. However, now that I've gotten the negative out of the way, let me illuminate the positivity that this place has brought into my life ever since I first came here when I was 9 years old. The Chit Chat Cafe has been a staple for my artistic expression. A home base for my writing and drawing hobbies and a lovely stop off for weekend tunes or to people watch. It seems like there's always at least one person in there reading the newspaper while sipping coffee, or working on their laptop with their headphones on. The baristas have always been friendly, especially Tyler! Such a cool dude w/ charming charismatic energy! I have completed two stamp cards in the past 2 years at this location and the one on the pier. I remember coming here in the storm one day, in 2015, when I was on my bike, locking my bike outside and having hot cocoa & a glass of water, with the wind & rain pounding against the glass. It was such a magical experience, that I decided this would be in my all-time top three cafes in Pacifica. Thank you for staying in business as long as I can remember & providing an authentic Cafe experience in Pacifica! You rock, Chit Chat Cafe! (Gaah I need to take pictures when I write these reviews. The bar was full and no one was in the dining room. Empty at 6:30pm. The prime rib $35 (Fri/Sat only) comes with either soup or salad. Only Fridays will have the clam chowder. The warm bread is so good here. I love the generous butter tray. The soft butter spreads so easily over the warm bread. Instead of the baked potato, I always get the garlic fries at no extra charge. The prime rib is OK, a bit chewy and not aged or herb crusted. I had a hard time finishing it as it got tedious after a few bites. It tasted too plain and needed the au jus and horseradish to be edible. You figure the service would be better as I'm the only food customer. No. The waitress was talking to some customers at the bar most of the time. My water didn't arrive until after my food after I asked for it again. Regardless, she is a long time employee and I'll cut her some slack. Most of the time, she knows what I will order before I say it. I'll preface that when I was junior golfer, I would eat here in between rounds during the summer so it definitely have nostalgic memories here. It's been probably 15+ years since I last ate here, and while the prices have increased, there's still something for everyone here to enjoy. Before we dined in, we grabbed some drinks at the turn and they had ready-made turkey sandwiches. The turkey sandwich doesn't come with anything and was kinda dry, but I dunno it was the right kind of snack to get me through the last 9 holes. We came in around 1pm and they I noticed a big board with all their specials. I saw the prime rib hash, and I knew I had to get that. For $20, it was a whole lotta food. It came with a side of eggs (cooked to your preference) and hash browns. For a hearty breakfast, this one is worth trying. It did need a little salt and some hot sauce, but I enjoyed the meal nonetheless. My girlfriend got the half tuna and soup (chicken tortilla) and the tuna sandwich was pretty good as well. Soup, wasn't a huge fan of though. The menu itself has plenty of burgers, sandwiches, and lots of breakfast plate options. If you are coming for an early morning round, they have breakfast burritos and sandwiches for around $12. A solid choice considering the convenience of being right at the course. Turns out they do a prime rib dinner special on Friday and Saturday's after 4:30PM, it's recommended to come before 7:30 because they do sell out. Will definitely be back to try this out!
