    grilled chicken sandwich
    Angela R.

Visited Colombo's after it being recommended by many in Pacifica. Upon entering, it was a welcoming environment and it's pretty spacious. I was overwhelmed at first with all of the menu options but the worker at the register helped me choose a proper sandwich which I appreciated. I ended up ordering a grilled chicken sandwich. I decided against adding on a drink and chips after seeing the price. 1 sandwich came out to being $20. I was expecting a huge portion or a sandwich with lots of fillings. What I received was pretty basic. It was a basic grilled chicken sandwich. Overall, it was a good sandwich. The bread and ingredients tasted fresh but it was nothing to justify a $20 sandwich in my opinion. I could receive a similar portion from Safeway next door for half the price. If you are in the area and don't mind a steep price to support a local business, check them out. I'm confident you will walk away with a good sandwich. For me, I will stick to buying my deli sandwiches elsewhere.

Colombo's is a great little neighborhood deli and an easy go-to for a solid sandwich. I definitely recommend using their app to order -- it's much faster than calling, since phone orders often get put on hold. Plus, you earn points through the app, which is a nice perk. It's a perfect spot to grab a sandwich or wrap and take down to the beach on a clear day. I ordered the meatball sub on sourdough, and it was fire -- great flavor and very satisfying. The sandwiches are a good size, though for the price I do wish they were just a little bigger -- still a fair deal overall. Prices are reasonable for the area, and pickup is smooth when ordering online.

Dutch crunch bread (way too dry)

Got some steak sandwiches at $19 each, but it is not the same as before. The steak filling was quite tasty though some bits were just too chewy. I don't know what happened to their Dutch crunch bread, but it was dry and powdery (we got 2 and this Dutch crunch bread was not it), however the sourdough bread was still good. I went back and looked at my previous review and i'm no longer able to vouch for their steak sandwiches.

I love Colombo's! It's my go to for sandwiches in Pacifica. My favorite is the Rockaway panini

Colombo's have been on our list for a while so we were excited to try on our free Sunday afternoon. Excellent sandwich, wonderful and friendly customer service. Great location with easy parking. Lots of seating inside and a great selection of chips and sodas. I had the Hobb's Gobbler and my partner had the Godfather. The only reason I'm giving this sandwich spot a 4/5 stars is for the pricing point. Fresh ingredients and delicious bread that really stands out like Colombo's are hard to come by so I get why their prices are slightly higher than other spots. Because of this, I'd come here once in a while as a treat and recommend friends and family to come too.

Don't give up!!! Though you can see some of the struggles, they are a long standing institution in Pacifica, and need your support. And the sandwiches are still great! Please contribute to your local businesses. Otherwise big corporate will take over.

Asked for veggies and they never put them in, just a dry ass sandwich.

They suck! Can never get the ingredients that you ask for correct, you have check and open up the sandwich to make sure it's correct, sad business. Not doing that.

just had the most insane steak sandwich here. big improvement from my last visit. the people working here are so kind.

    Is this bread or croutons?

I'm really sad to have to write this review, but I have to say, I have never in my life seen a business fall as hard as Colombo's has in the last 20 years. This deli is a shell of its former self. There are no longer grocery items, Italian imports, or freshly made Italian specialties. There is no energy or excitement. Nothing. The deli is basically 90% empty and it is extremely dirty. It's creepy actually and very uncomfortable. Ohhh Colombo's what a sad state you are in my old friend. Now to the Sandwiches. Wow, they were so bad I could only eat half of one before tossing the 2nd half to my dog. The bread was stale and literally breaking apart, as if it were made from one gigantic crouton. This bread was likely 4-5 days old, extremely dry, and falling apart b/c it was so brittle and stale. It was 100% not edible, and if I hadn't driven home 20 miles after purchasing it, I would have returned it. The portion size of the meat has come down by around 60-70% of what it used to be. These were large, robust subs for many, many years, and now they're skimpy and embarrassing looking sandwiches served on 5-day old bread that should more appropriately be used for making croutons. The meats are still passable, but the entire sandwich experience was so weak, there is literally no reason to ever return to this establishment. It's a shame b/c I am a multi-decade regular. Also, I wouldn't even think about getting any of the salad items in the deli case, they all looked old, definitely not fresh, and very unsanitary. COLOMBO'S - If you are going out of business, just close your doors and move. Don't raise prices and fleece your customers on the way out the door. That's lame.

I had those in my next hometown of Benicia where my kids grew up, but that's kind of their town now so I needed to find a town of my own. I've been hanging out in Pacifica a bit cuz of the magic of the Taco Bell beach, but it's another square block of Pacifica that showed me the magic of this place. I've had about 47 meals over the past couple weeks at the Sun Valley shopping center near the Sanchez library annex. The uppercrust Deli rocks... No as bagels in the morning I've had two wraps and a falafel Sammy and a meatballs sandwich that Italy should ask for the recipe for and I still have about 20 sandwiches to try... Goodfellais at night for a beer and a piece of Pizza and the Cool jukebox or even some amazing garlic where they called cloves on toast I had last night... Home cooked burgers at the City Grill with great light night conversation... I'm looking forward to trying the mu shoe pork at the chinese restaurant but the Home cooked meats and mashed potatoes at the grocery store keep diverting me because they have that Cool Mexican half leader soda in a glass bottle. Anyway I have to finish my chicken wrap because I got a Cool hot sauce for half Price at the grocery outlet that I want to try and I have to hit 110 million on the pinball machine to get my name up there and I'm stuck in the 60s Cool places to try still just like Taco Bell Beach. Plus I rent cds free at the library next-door with the frisbee Park and BMX track that my dog likes. I placed two separate sandwich orders online through Clover for pickup under my name. I ordered them about 45 minutes before arriving. When I arrived, I showed Maria my receipts and gave her my name. She briefly checked and told me she did not have the orders. The line was long, so I understand things can get hectic, but it did not feel like she was making much of an effort to actually verify the orders. She even misheard my name and was about to hand a sandwich to someone else under a completely different name. At that point, I became concerned that one of my sandwiches might have already been given to another customer. After I continued asking her to check, she somehow found one of my orders in the same area she had already looked. However, only one of the two sandwiches was there. I showed her my Clover receipt again, including the date, timestamp, transaction information, and order details. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, she told me she did not know how to use the Clover system and could only search by name. She then told me I needed to contact Clover myself. I was honestly shocked because she was the manager but said she did not know how to use the restaurant's ordering system. When I explained I could not find a customer support number for Clover and asked what she could do to resolve the missing order, her response was essentially, "I don't know what you want me to do about it." I asked how the restaurant communicates with Clover when there is a problem with the system or how they diagnose issues with the device. Again, she said she didn't know and that the owner was responsible for the Clover system. I asked if I could speak with the owner and requested a contact number. She refused to provide one and told me I could come in early on a weekday if I wanted to speak with them. I'm not from the area, so expecting me to make another trip simply to speak with the owner was not a reasonable solution. What made the situation even worse was that I did not receive a refund for the missing sandwich. I paid for two sandwiches but only received one. Despite showing proof of payment and the order details, there was no attempt to refund the missing item or offer a replacement. Whether the missing sandwich was caused by Clover, a restaurant error, or someone accidentally receiving the wrong order, I would have expected the manager to make a reasonable effort to fix the problem. Instead, I was essentially told it wasn't her problem. Mistakes happen. Technology fails. Orders get misplaced. I understand all of that. What matters is how a business handles the problem afterward. In this case, the customer service was extremely poor, and Maria's attitude made the situation considerably worse. I've also noticed other Yelp reviews mentioning similar customer-service issues, which makes me concerned this isn't an isolated experience. I hope the owner sees this review and takes the time to address what happened. Little Lucca might have good food, but good food doesn't excuse poor customer service or charging a customer for an item they never received. I paid for two sandwiches, received one, was not refunded for the missing sandwich, and was given no reasonable solution. Extremely disappointing experience.

I came here with my cousin who wouldn't stop raving about this sandwich I "had to try". So he, my kids, and I took a drive. Walking in, I really appreciated the cleanliness of the place. They also had a really cool floor that looked like you were standing on the beach. Grade: A The service was great! The person who took my order was patient and very helpful when I was trying to figure out food for my son. I didn't know that they also served breakfast items until noon. I ordered the #27 Nor Cal, a kid's burger for my daughter, and so thankful they offered pancakes for my son. Service grade: A Let's get started on the main attraction for me...the #27 NorCal. There are so many choices on the menu that I really want to highlight how great this one is! I ordered it with Dutch crunch per recommendation from my cousin. The NorCal comes with chicken, teriyaki, peanut sauce, pepper jack cheese, mayo, onions, sprouts, and tomatoes. Yes, peanut sauce. The bread was toasted to perfection and soaked up the sauciness. I'm the first to admit that my cousin was 100% right! I really loved this sandwich. The flavors and quality were off the charts. This sandwich easily goes into my top 5 all-time. Wow! Grade: A+ I really appreciated that they have a kids menu! My son had the pancakes. He usually complains anywhere we go, but he actually turned to me and said that he liked these pancakes. I picked one up and I must saw they were thick, fluffy, and delicious. The fact that my son was happy, made our visit all the more better. Grade: A My daughter had the kid's cheeseburger. The burger was a 1/4 lb and came with a generous portion of fries. The French fries were crispy on the outside and perfectly seasoned. The French roll used for the burger may be the best French roll I've had. (Of course I had to try it) haha The outer part had an easy chew and the inner part was like a pillow. I only tried the bread, but my daughter was overall content. The cheeseburger was a good size for her. Things that I want to try next time include their sourdough bread that looked fantastic, their flan, and this bbq beef sandwich that looked insane! There are also a few other sandwiches that looked good on the menu...chicken marinara and provolone, a honey mustard one, and the other was a California club. I'm still thinking about my sandwich a day later so it may take a few visits before trying others. Apparently this spot is a not-so-hidden gem to others as while we were there, the place filled up fast! When we were leaving, a line had formed and the staff readily took care of everyone. I guess it's a known spot. Gherkin's in Montara will be a must-stop any time I'm remotely near it if not even at home...it's worth the drive! Thank you Gherkin's!
